Well there we have it. Michelle has gone and Felicity survives another week. I have to say now that, i am getting a bit peeved that Ann is not looking any closer to going at the minute but her time has to end soon. If she took it more seriously and didnt keep smart mouthing the judges then id have a bit more patience but I have to say it's ran out now!!!

Dont think in all honesty she really deserves to enjoy Blackpool! The show is supposed to be about dancing and showing improvement each week. Fair enough the entertainment factor is there as its sometimes comical but thats not what the show is about!!

Ann and Anton at Blackpool the entertainment capital of the world. A good result how far can Ann go lets hope to the final and then lift the glitter ball. This is not a serious dance show its entertainment.

How very disrespectful of Annie Lenox to appear on Strictly on Remeberance Sunday without wearing a poppy. Especially offensive given the soldiers appearance. Shame on Strictly allowing her to go on stage. If she didn't want to wear a poppy for her own reasons, then don't have her on stage that night. I think you should have said no poppy - no appearance - no fee.

Well, I read an article in the week that said the Ö÷²¥´óÐã were being accused of fixing the whole show because of what is going on, on the ..ahem..other side... Simple solution.. why dont the beeb show us all a leaderboard table for the voting?? (they can manage it for the judges scores) JOB DONE!

Can't understand how Anton and partner still survive. Can you please reconfirm how the voting works? Seems a farce. I think that you should vote for who you want to GO (which really should be someone who cannot dance), not who you wish to stay. That is why some good dancers (such as Jimi last week)are leaving, because the public are voting for the very top or the very bottom...namely the comedy act. I must say the other contestants are very gracious. If it was me I would rant and tear about it being strictly come dancing, not strictly come carry on.

Hopefully Ann and Anton win the whole thing. That might cause a few heads to scratch somewhere.

Beg to differ about the serious side to the show or why would there be serious judges in place!

Tonight's result would be fair if it Ann and Anton had already gone already. They have to go next week, they are the worst! The country's economic situation can't be that bad if people have money to waste to keep voting them in.

At the recap Anton gave Ann a reprimand, he looked fed-up with her rudeness to me.

Just over the moon to see Matt and Aliona going to Blackpool! That is the most important thing in my humble opinion.

Of the two dancers I think Michelle was just a tad better than Felicity, but I think she had a stranger temperment last night and I suppose I'm glad she's has gone.

my husband and myself watch strickly every week, and find it hard to believe that Ann widocommbe is still in, we thought it was supposed to be strickly come dancing ,not strickly come entertainment, we feel its discusting how those like Ann obviously cant dance well, are still in the competion,and yet obviously good dancers far better then Ann are very sadly voted out of the competion, we hope something will be done about this ,before all the good dancers are gone,when they so deserve to be still in. from julie jess

I can recall John Sargeant not actually appearing at the end of some shows were he survived.

It's an entertainment programme - dancing is secondary.

I've tried searching the various sites but can't find a date for the 'Final' night. We're going to organise a party but want to make sure we get the right night. Does anyone know for definite when it is?

Well, I guess it was time for Michelle to be voted off. She tried her best but never really looked like becoming a good ballroom dancer. However with a voice like hers I dont think it will be the end of her career!!!!!

Good point Leslie, of course her performance was recorded.

But even if it wasn't she has every right to wear a poppy or not.

Thank you for your comment Fiddler. I completely agree with you. This is a serious dance competition (it has been since the start) Ann winning will turn everything upside down and I don't know if the show will continue after that. What a shambles!

You must not judge an induvidual's beliefs based on their appearance, and personnaly I think having everyone wearing a poppy is just another example political correctness.

Hooray! Ann is still in!!!! Strictly stopped being a "dance" competition ages ago - any thin young woman can win simply by following a good male dancer - Can't they, Alesha? Can't they Natasha? - it's so much harder for the men and for bigger, older women. I adore Anton and love the way Ann is completely her own woman. That said - Matt or Scott to win!!!!

Of course, if it was a real competition Ann Widecombe wouldn't have made it through the preliminary selection, come to that nor would Tess Daly be comparing it, but then neither would it be on television.

By the way the Archers is not a tale of everyday country folk, they are all actors and Ambridge was invented. Sorry to disappoint you.

The Beeb don't give us the scores because I reckon they are dodgy.
I've been looking at the judges scores and trying to reconcile them to the ultimate decision about who goes, and week on week the maths is getting more suspicious! I find it hard to believe that Ann holds so much of the public vote to keep her in each week, especially this week when the judges score only gave her 2 points. The public vote had to have put Michelle / Brendan and Felicity / Vincent last [1 and 2 ponts respectively] to put them in the bottom two couples. Well, in order for Anne to not go out the public vote must have allotted her 5 points or more, which places her in all probability above at least ONE OTHER couple [the other eventuality is that the public vote produced at least one tie, which given the number of people voting is highly unlikely].

Aren't you being a bit hypocritical complaining that someone uses their right of free expression won by British Soldiers, not to pin a poppy on their clothing. Just as you cannot judge someone's health problems by their appearance you can't judge their beliefs either and to do so is supreme arogance. As for the dancing - the more nasty the judges are the more perverse the voters are.

Maz1 sorry you`re way off the mark..Strictly isnt a serious dancing competition and never has been.If it was people like Ann Widdecombe and John Sargent and many others would never have been invited on in the first place. Their inclusion merely proves that it is an entertainment show first second and last. The dancing is merely part of that entertainment.

I am sorry to see Michelle leave, I really felt for her being in the bottom three times, she could only do her best and she tried her hardest and thought she did a good job of the character of the dance but unfortunately she made a few mistakes with the dance. I had a feeling that she and Felicity would be in the bottom two. Each week I could see an improvement with her confidence and dancing technique, it might not have been as good as Scott and Matt but she was trying.

Presumably Ann quite enjoys the complete loss of any credibility she may have had. Enjoy yourself at Blackpool and then please GO!

Can you please bring back the dance off, this is a dance show or not?

Although it is an entertainment show, surely the Ö÷²¥´óÐã must have to question their ability to produce such programmes. We had the vote rigging, John Sergeant quit and now Ann presents the same problem. In some respects I like the show but not when, as a licence payer, the credability of programmes are called into question by poor management. Yes it is entertainment but what is the point of having professional judges if they have no impact.

I am fairly sure they have a bank of recordings of artists' performances to show at various times-so it is not that surprising that Annie Lennox didn't have a poppy, but as others have said, it is her choice. That is what we have in this country and should cherish.

I'm not sure why people keep saying that is "entertainment" and not a dance competition. Why is it assumed that it can't be both? It is the competition part of it that makes it entertaining. It wouldn't be much of a show if we had a bunch of couples just doing a poor quality "dance" a la Ann Widdecome every week with no-one trying to dance better than the others and no competitive element, no judges, no marks, just a phone vote.

Why do the producers of this show appear to have so little pride in what they have created that they seek to make a mockery of it in the misguided notion that they are making it more "entertaining".

Simple. "Proper" dancing is dancing like most normal people can dance without much practice. The rest of the competitors ruin this competition by insisting on practising their routines and improving their skills, when what we really want to see is people just going out there and doing the best they can with limited talent and practice.

Come on Ann! Do it for us normal people. One on the eye for all these la-di-da fans of over-rehearsed, slick routines.

Was it not Len who said a few years ago I think who said it was a dance show and that the public should vote for the best dancers not just who they found entertaining. But yet did Len not seem to suggest that they were scoring the dancers on entertainment values and that it was an entertainment show?

For me, the worst 3 couples were "in no particular order":

Michelle & Brendan - execution of dance, and attitude in front of judges. IMHO Michelle's best dance was with Ian (sorry Brendan)

Felicity & Vincent - The armography looked very cumbersome

Ann & Anton - All I can say is that the standard is of the same quality as that of a "singing" contestant on the "other" side. Their continued participation just keeps the programme in the headlines. Well done to Anton for getting his furthest through the competition.

Judges scores: Sometimes Craig goes over the top with his comments but he does use 1..10 range to its proper extent to rank dancers. The other judges tend to restrict themselves to 6..10 marking dancers too close together.

As for Ann Widdecombe, you cannot use her age when you consider that Felicity Kendal is almost a year older than her and is dancing much much better.

I'm not sure why this would be in doubt, but I "admit" that it's a competition, tippytappy. A competition in which I'll be voting for Ann several more times than I would have been if you just hadn't said anything!

I'm gutted that Michelle and Brendan are out, I thought she'd begun to really improve and I loved all her dances, I will really miss all her funny little ways as well!

Many people vote for Widdy, and the ever charming Anton, because she is more like them than any of the others. And I dont mean physically. What would YOU be like on SCD? Much like Ann I suspect. And we Brits do like the underdog.

How is it Anne is still in? Is everyone mad? It is getting beyond ridiculous..this is a DANCING competition...entertainment yes, but I don't know how Anne has the gall to let those go who are streets ahead of her...hats off to John S, he did the decent thing. I know that Michele didn't have her best dance yesterday, and that is getting tougher every weekend, but at the same time that is nice to see Ann's support for her and Anton's entertainment, this competition is about dancing, so it is time for her to go and leave people who are improving in the dance.

First of all, can I say how surprised I am that you make it so difficult for people to make a comment about your programmes. Then Ö÷²¥´óÐã, after watching Strictly from the first series, I now have stopped watching completely, after the way it has descended into a farce where it's no longer a dance competition. When you somehow make the dancing the important part of the show, then maybe I'll watch again.

I gave up on X Factor last year and I have a feeling that this might be my last strictly series. I love watching the dancing, and seeing couples progress over the weeks, but I can't stand the manufactured rivalry, rudeness, cringing use of kids and temper tantrums, all aimed at manipulating the public to vote. Someone is getting very rich out of the phone in. Just where does all that money go now it doesn't go to children in need? Happy to be manipulated for disadvantaged kids but not going to line the pockets of some private enterprise.

Am just going to have one more quick look at Matt's Rhumba then it's off to dream of sheep and shepherds!

In all honesty how Ann can appear at the Mecca of World ballroom dancing, The people who vote for don't realise what a joke she is & it isn't dancing that she delivers. I enjoyed my days when I did ballroom dancing & seeing great dancers, I am afraid she makes mockery of what I call pathetic figure on the dance floor.

I couldnt beleive what I just read. It's both a dancing and entertainment show. The celebrities are there to improve ontheir dancing abilitites with the passing weeks and the reason for the eliminations are those who dont attempt or improve on their dancing. Thats the major reason for the practiced routines.
And the name is 'STRICTLY come dancing' not 'Simple Proper dancing'. My main gripe with AW is that she doesnt try to improve her dancing, but instead show arrogance about the fact that she doesnt even have to try.

I don't know how one can take this programme seriously with ms Widdecombe as its flagship... its juggernaut...
