    Hi Len!

    1. Each year the judges bang on about the proper hip action needed for the Latin dances. Can you show us how it's done please?

    2. What's your own personal favourite dance and why?

    Thank you!

Hi Len - As teachers we fully agree with your "5 points of contact". We teach this to our pupils but would really appreciate you going through it again - it will make an impression on them.
    Thanks

Is Len one of the judges on Dancing with the Stars this year? I know his schedule is very tight flying backwards and forwards and he must get exhausted I'm sure.

    Hi Len,

I'm thinking of going to dance classes with my husband. What would you recommend we go for first and would be easier for someone like me who has two left feet.

    Many thanks in advance.

Hi Len. Would it be possible to pick up ballroom or latin at a high level if I already do ballet, tap and modern? Also, where would you start to look for ballroom classes? Thanks. Lily

    Len,

Just ended my first dance class. excellent teacher but her comment was, for the cha cha cha - too much motion, too many steps. Disaaaster. How to rectify this?

My darling husband and valiant dance partner is having trouble finding his samba bounce - can you help him please?

  • Comment number 10.

Hi Len. I am finding the first 8 steps in the foxtrot very hard to do smoothly. How can I make it more fluid?

  • Comment number 11.

Hi Len - What are the pros and cons of a modern dance compared to a traditional one? For example, a very modern paso doble or a traditional one.

    Hi Len

Always watch takes two so it is great to have you back on giving advice on your dance clinic. My husband has recently started dancing and is doing really well. My problem is I have danced for a number of years and I am slightly taller then him in my dance shoes - so needless to say when we are dancing in hold I am having to crouch - any tips that you can give would be most appreciated. Regards keep dancing. Hx

    Hello Len
How do I cope with my very british reserve and that nagging doubt of looking slightly ridiculous when going for it on the dance floor. Any advise on losing inhibitions, or getting into character when dancing.Keep dancing!

    Hello Len,

I learn the Quickstep, but it seems that it is different to the quickstep that is done in Strictly.

Is there different types of quicksteps or are they the same?

Is the Foxtort a slow version of the Quickstep?

Which is your favourite dance and why?

If you were not a ballroom dancer and a Judge, what would you have done instead of it? :)

    Keep Dancing

What is the easiest dance to learn in Ballroom and in Latin for anyone?

What is the hardiest dance to learn in Ballroom and in Latin for anyone?

    Hi Len,
Any tips on getting my partner to open his legs better and swing through in the ballroom dances.
    Thanks

  • Comment number 21.

We are raw beginners and two things bother me-1) How do you choose a good pair of shoes for practise and dances - both for ladies and men. Also how do you do the basic pivot turn in quickstep? We have been trying this for two months and failed every time.

For Sid1979: To get hip action on latin keep your steps small and allow your hips to rotate when changing weight. IE in basic Rumba step forward on 1 and let you hip settle into the step; replace weight on 2 and do the same; small step to the side without weight on 3 (the feet should not be wider than your hips) and on 4 take the weight onto the foot letting your hips go with it. It is bit like waiting in the supermarket queue for an old lady to pay her £3-99 in pennys and you keep changing weight from foot to foot. Any help? Colin.

Can you demonstrate what a 'heel turn' is please - the judges always seem too be impressed when they spot the dancers performing one of these!

  • Comment number 29.

How do you dance the 'ocho' step in the tango?

  • Comment number 30.

For Passion4dancing. Simple really, when you cross your feet behind keep your body and hips towards one another and DO NOT turn your head so far that it pulls your shoulder back. Try dancing it and stay looking at one another. Then slowly turn your heads but stop the moment you feel your shoulder and body falling away from your partner. Looking down the line of dance with your head in promenade position is an illusion. Your head cannot turn 90 degrees. Take you head up and to the left (man, right lady) then move your eyes in the same direction. It gives the ilusion of looking down the line of dance without actually doing it! Best of luck. Colin.

For goldytwoshoes. Sounds like they need to flex the standing leg more. If you take a step without bending the other leg your stride will be short. Without a partner, stand in position; flex the left leg and then take the stride. It will almost double the distance. Same applies to the lady. Good luck. Colin.

    Hi Len,

    Greeting from Ireland

I started doing Zumba Dancing. Could you explain what type of dancing is Zumba Dancing?

    Keeeeeep Dancing

  • Comment number 33.

Len watched you on It Takes Two with Zoe last night and was thinking it would be wonderful to see you actually dance with Zoe. Do you think it would be possible for you to perhaps give us all a treat say on the Christmas Show this year maybe? - I'm sure it would go down extremely well with everyone.

Len, i have a bad case of middle age spread and my dance teacher keeps on at me about "separation". i find this difficult due to my shape. apart from "lose weight" have you got any tips?

  • Comment number 35.

Hi Len. Why are you so grumpy on a Saturday night? Come back the Len we all know and love!

  • Comment number 36.

Len, about heel turns. As I remember being told many moons ago in medal pursuit, one's toes must not turn up. Is this no longer the case, as difficult though it is. I am pleased to see that examination techniques are being pursued by some of the professionals.
    Janet

What do the judges mean about heel turns, heel leads, keeping on your balls of your feet?

  • Comment number 38.

Hi Len, My elderly Aunt (92) thinks this is the first year of Strictly where there have been two girls dancing together. Should I tell her that it is Ola dancling with Robbie Savage?
