Why oh why did Dan go? wasn't it about that ancient Diva Nancy went instead? What on earth are viewers thinking of? There's just no justice at times!!!! (Not that I take strictly seriously at all!!

I don't think it was entirely Dan's dancing that sealed his fate. He wasn't fluffy enough for the public. Guessing Bruno's defence of Nancy's dance improvement to Craig may have been the clincher for many. His dancing became secondary in most voters minds. Remember no one voted against Dan, just were apathetic towards him.

Not been liking Nancy, but that can change if she knuckles down and you can see an honest attempt to support Anton and give her best. It's all you can ask of anyone. Due to age, fitness and previous dance experience makes this show an uneven playing field from the get go. People mainly vote for spurious reasons, so I decided to go for hard work, good performance based on capabilities and all round fluffiness.

What on earth are the public voters thinking !! At least Dan seemed to be trying. Fancy Nancy is just 'trying'. She has the grace of a poker, or rag doll, depending on her mood. She hasn't even got the personality factor like Widdy.

I think Dan just wasn't playing the game like some of the other celebrities, he just wanted to learn to dance with no bells or whistles and not enough jeopardy or razzle-dazzle. It's sad because I thought he was lovely (and really hot) but I think people like the uncertainty factor with Nancy, you never know what you're going to get and that can be exciting. For me the result was wrong but the public had their say.

Poor Anton's face was a picture... a little bit disappointed maybe.

Sorry to see Dan leave so early in the competition. I think the Judges were too harsh about him but I don't think he was the worst dancer, I thought it was Nancy, although she did improve, she still has a long way to go to to get the dance technique down.

Full marks to Dan for trying. He did try his best and having the handicap of being extremely tall never helps. He even seemed to look a bit more in shape each week so maybe he should keep the dancing up.
I would never get hung up about either being or not being the worst dancer who gets voted off. There will never be an episode of SCD where it is the actual worst dancer who gets voted off each week - the show isn't designed that way. Half of the overall score comes from people who vote for whatever quality they please, be it likeability, dance ability or amusement value. I know some people would like to see a "fairer" system but far short of removing the public vote that will never happen.
Better to have tried and lost than sat on his backside like a couch potato never having tried at all! Well done Dan.

Just catching up with Strictly from last night and tonight and I am completely smitten with Brendan after that performance - love the Phantom soundtrack and love Brendan!!

Two series ago Dear John, by accident, became popular because the judes slated him each week. At the time the judges hated it but it led to lots of wonderful publicity. Now such an act is demanded. Last season, Widdy, this season, roll out Nancy. Each week she gets ripped apart but somehow stays in. Don't tell me the judges have not been instructed to do this, since when did Alesha give anybody a 2? Its bad enough on a commercial show but the Ö÷²¥´óÐã should be ashamed.

I think the fairest way for voting s the way 'X Factor' has gone this year and let the Judges decide. At least they do know what they are doing with the exception of Alesha. Still think she should go.!

It didn't surprise me at all that it as Dan who went and not Nancy - it's a synicle ploy to keep the ratings up. Even when the judges are in control of a competition it's plain to see - think Jedward in the X Factor, think Wagner!! Frankly, think Susan Boyle. She can sing, but she's not that good. There are plenty better.
When the result was announced Anton looked SO disappointed!

I am gutted that gorgeous Dan has gone, its a FIX there is no way that Nancy woman received more votes than Dan. I think they know who is going before they actually get on the dance floor. I feel sorry for everyone who has wasted their money to vote because it makes no difference whatsoever. For goodness sake have the bottle to get rid of the person who gets the fewest votes and that would have to be NANCY...

I'm very sad to see Dan and Katya go, I loved Dan's sense of humour, he was very endearing and Katya was making sure he improved every week.

What does Nancy offer?! At least with Ann we got a bit of a live wire. We laughed at what she would say or do.

Nancy doesn't even have that. Plus, Nancy has failed to better Ann in two of the three dances Nancy has done so far. The Waltz and Tango. Ann got 17 for the Waltz and Nancy got 12 for it. Ann got 21 for the Tango and Nancy only got 20.

And Dan was the one ousted? Madness.

I'm sorry but Dan didn't endear himself to the public. Boy does he like himself, in fact if he was chocolate he would eat himself. He needed to learn to take criticism & stop whingeing. I used to really like him but week by week on Daybreak I didn't like his arrogance.

WE didnt all laugh at what she said or did .,Nancy is funnier, though unintentionally. Dan was bound to go because after Nancy he was the least good, and a lot of people vote for Anton du Beke regardless.His pairing with Nancy is car crash tele and many semi- sadists will want to see it get worse.

Dan was a fool to himself. He wasnt a very good dancer but his arrogant cocky attitude didnt win him any votes either.

It was a travesty - Dan wasn't brilliant but he was far better than Nancy, who is nothing short of a very unfunny comedy act.
Poor Anton - it can only be his fanbase keeping them in. If she doesn't go next week we will be back to the farcical situation of last year...

Seriously, if they hadn't scrapped the dance off we'd be rid of Nancy now. I know people love Anton, but if you love him stop putting him through the torture of having to try and teach that awful woman how to dance. Never thought I'd say this, but The Widdicombe was better...

Strictly Gemma, Nora, Kirstie, Suzy or James whichever of you are monitoring this blog. Please will you ask the producers, the judges and the contestants to stop taking us the viewers as a bunch of idiots.

We all know that the results show is filmed on Saturday evening after the lines close for voting. So please ask everyone to a) On the Saturday live show to stop referring to "Tomorrows results show", b) On the results show to stop referring to "Yesterday". It is just unecessary to continue to mislead the viewers.

Personally I think the results show should be later on Saturday evening, This would also prevent the spoilers logging the result on the internet.

For the record I thought the bottom two were ther right ones this week, although I think the wrong person went out of those two.

Can I ask why it has been decided to remove the 'Dance Off'? I can't see what benefit this brings, having it made the elimination a much fairer decision, more about dancing quality and ability than being just a popularity contest. The lack of a dance off really leaves me a little unhappy with it all (though I still adore the dancing).

It would be interesting to know why this was removed and to what benefit...??!! We're just going to lose more and more people who have potential....

I do not understand - Len is supposed to mark for the quality of dancing and he gives Russell a 7 and Harry 8. Harry should have got all 9's at least. He was excellent.

I agree with most that Dan was perhaps a tad unfortunate to get the boot this week instead of the mad Italian. But I also agree with McAnnie and a few others that Dan's arrogance and disrespect towards CRH was amazing, and that kind of thing irritates the public, because we all love CRH the pantomime villain. I also think that Katya isn't a judges favourite either because she always thinks that she knows better than the three proper judges (sorry Alesha). But don't fret chaps, because I suspect that if Anton feels that nancy is becoming the new John Sergeant he will create a few Widdy style comedy routines to make sure the judges score them low & make her look stupid at the same time & keep his fingers crossed that even his most devoted disciples put her out of his misery. Her days are most certainly numbered (and then hopefully Audley, Anita & the most irritating Scottish female singer of all time will be the next three after her)

The dance off was done away with due to the imbalance of power it gave the judges. The format reverted to the original public vote having the stronger power as per the first 4 series. There was outrage at popular celebrities losing the dance off and/or being impossible to keep out of the dance off. With issues of obviously unpopular people repeatedly saved by the judges.
Also there was the problem of people deliberately voting excessively to keep poor dancers out of the danger zone to spite the judges, who then had to choose between better couples who should really have both stayed.

I’m happy, pleased, to see Nancy remain in the competition. I am no dance expert & I watch for an overall entertainment: style, song, dress, impact, reputation, improvement, the pro etc.
I would criticise the voting system because viewers must pay to vote. If it is to be fairer, less bias, then limit number of votes per phone number & include a free online voting system. For this reason, the show does appear corrupted, bias, in some form.

Thanks for clearing that up - I guess I missed the first few so am used to the judges vote. Personally, I respect the judges far more than the public 'popularity' choices. It is, after all, a dancing competition so it disappoints when it's clearly not about the dancing (Ricky Whittle anyone?!). Turns it into a bit of a farce - it won't put me off watching, but I just don't care for the Sunday night show, nor the results as I know it's clearly not about who has danced well and who hasn't! A real shame.

The best thing about the first few weeks is watching the dance purists get their knickers in a twist cause a slightly better duffer went out before a slightly worse duffer.

Chelsee Healey is a real cutie, very talented dancer, needs to start believing in herself. It was so cute the way she stood against Pasha while the results were being read out.

I think the 'Dance Off' needs to be reinstated for the next series - at least for the first six rounds - the public vote for final two could restart in week 6 when the weaker couples have left the show. We need to start trusting the judges - some of them may annoy us but at the end of the day they are the ones with the dance experience. I agree that Nancy represents pure car-crash tv and it's wrong that the celebs who have stuck to the rules and tried their best to learn to dance, should have to leave before the 'Nancy's' of this world.

I agree flatfeet. If we still had the dance-off we would be sure that it would be the worst DANCER who was eliminated by the judges. As things are, Anton's popularity is keeping Nancy in the competition and if it happens again next week a much better dancer than Nancy will leave the competition.

How about Anton takes over from Sir Bruce as presenter? I am a Brucie fan but even I am getting tired of his jokes every week. How about it Ö÷²¥´óÐã?

I just wanted to say that I thought that Tess looked awful on Saturday evening.
Her hair and her make up were ghastlyyyyyyyyyyyyy. Can't stand this new and ugly way she has with her lipstick. She is such a lovely girl, but .......honestly

Hi everyone. I can understand you are all feeling upset that Dan & Katya have gone. Dan can count himself unlucky because I felt the judges underscored both his ballroom routines and didn't give him the credit he deserved but having found himself 3rd from bottom as he said in the results show he can't be too suprised that he was in the bottom2 but having said that once they said Nancey was in the bottom 2 I thought she had gone.

If the last series was anything to go by from the voting point of view I can put a positive spin on it because those who found themselves in the bottom 2 during those early week were always on the publics hit list and even if they didn't go out immediately it wasn't too long before they did go so it might be the same for Nancey

He was nowhere near the worst dance - the judges (not including Alesha) were mostly against him whilst praising Lulu.
Nancy was like a 'plodding donkey' and no she hasn't improved and she should have been the one voted off but there are many people who take great delight in voting for the worst dancer just to annoy the people who want it as a dance competition.
I wasn't convinced that Lulu was pleased about being kept in.

I agree with you in the main there newmelinda. Dan was nowhere near the worst dancer but I do have to agree with Bruno on Nancy. She had improved from last week, admittedly not by too much but there was improvement there and I am glad Bruno recognised that and offered her a bit of hope. However she was rightly bottom of the leaderboard and should really have gone. I didn't begrudge her surviving the previous week as we only really had that awful latin to judge her on following that feather boa disaster during their waltz but this week her number should have been up

What happened to Craig this week. Although very critical, his comments are usually constructive. He points out what the celebs need to do improve their dancing and his marking reflects this. But this weekend he really disappointed me. I don't know how he could give Harry 8 points. Admittedly the few steps he did were good, but the actual jive content of his routine couldn't have been more than 10 seconds. On the other hand Chelsee's cha cha cha was a proper routine full of proper cha cha steps, which she performed really well. And Craig only gave her 6! And while Jason can certainly 'perform', I'm not sure he deserved a 9. Call me cynical but I cant help thinking the fact they're both Aussies is influencing Craigs marking. Come on Craig, a little more consistency in your marking please, Daaaarling!

The right result. Dan was BORING and Nancy isn't. There are lots of good dancers to worry about but Dan wasn't one of them. Also, this is entertainment not a pure dance show or we may as well just keep the young, good looking people and forget the rest from the start. Keep Nancy in. I'd love to see her totter her way to the Glitterball.

I'm really disappointed! I loved Dan and Katya and really felt he had so much more to give - better dancing, and hopefully, some better jokes :-D

La Diva should have gone. Last year Anton had a whale of a time, and as bad as she was, Ann worked hard and they enjoyed themselves.

Also, i have never seen another dancer walk off and leave their partner on the floor. She went over to Bruce and didn't even notice Anton wasn't there until it was pointed to her.

It was only a matter of time for Dan. As keen as he was to learn and he did work hard and improve, he was never fluid. Some people only hear the music and i think you need to feel it to do anything musical.

I actually believe it was Dan's petty arrogance that got him the boot, and perhaps rightly so. Not that Nancy is a great dancer because clearly she isn't, however, even the most grudging of you on here has to admit that she does bring wonderful glamour to the show. She does have to keep on improving however, and quickly, else she will be gone. When you think that Anita is 62, and has already put in some wonderful efforts, it does put Nancy (only 50) to shame. Finally, is it just me, or does anyone else find Chelsee quite annoying? Maybe it's just that awful accent.

Nancy seems to be using SCD as a podium for her own advancement - the comment about the title of her 'next' book would be 'Anton' (or something like that), but she wouldn't tell us what would be in it or we wouldn't buy it ... I wouldn't buy it whatever she had in it.
So sad Dan went instead of Nancy, and yes, as someone said above, Anton looked disappointed. He seems to be finding it hard to portray enthusiasm this year, which is such a shme. But not his fault.

I was sorry to see Dan go. He really worked hard and had improved. (not to mention he was the best looking guy in the programme!) I will keep watching though as I love the show.

Thought Dan was smug and arrogant and not bothering to try very hard. His comment to Craig did for him with the voters, plus not too keen on Katya either, glad they went, at least Nancy is entertaining even if she doesn't mean to be. Shame more don't vote for Chelsea, I think she has got a lot of talent and needs more encouragement, especially after Tess made that dreadful posh comment the first week!

No it is not just you clairekinglover, my husband can't stand Chelsee because of that accent. She does annoy me a little bit too but at least she is trying unlike Nancy del Lollipop (sorry this is my husband's name for her). It was very sad to see Dan go as there are, to my mind, quite a few celebrities left who don't have the same potential.

I was not surprised to see Nancy in the bottom 2, but Dan was not the worse dancer, but hey I dont think he would of won the whole thing, guess he was getting tired of the training, what with the day break programme, guess it was a long day for him what with hes job and then going on to train for s.c.d, I did think he had improved, but hey its the public that voted, I thought Nancy would be going home yesterday, but no they live on to dance for another week, have a good week everyone, look farward to i.t.t with Zoe this week, we will see Dan tonight with Katya

Yes agree julieanne1811 Nancy has had a hidden agenda from the start. Anton did look disappointed hearing she was to stay, because he just doesn't know what to do with Nancy. He cannot go the entertaining/comedy route as he did with Anne - most people don't find her the least bit funny - just irritating and embarrasing I suspect. I think the producers decided Anton would be the only professional dancer who would be able to handle her - but it looks like even he's finding it hard coping with her, but hopefully for not much longer!

It seems very cruel to make Anton suffer another week of trying to teach the hopeless Nancy to dance. Who are these people voting for Nancy? She's not even amusing to watch - just embarrassing. Dan was lovely and at least trying to dance.

There is no comparison between Anne Widdecombe and Nancy DeOlio. AW was not glamorous, refused to dance and enter into the spirit if SCD, and turned the whole thing into a pantomime.Anton enjoyed the attention but made no attempt to actually get her to perform.At least la lollyo is glam, does try to dance despite her obvious sense of rhythm , and is a trued challenge to Mr dubeke who clearly cant cope with her. Although i do think she is a bit of a nutcase, I think Nancy is being bullied. I'm no diva lover, but I get a sense of hypocrasy here. PS the animosity which Anne Widdecombe provoked has apparently stymied the chance of fan blogs this year.There's nothing wrong with a bit of banter and a series filled with anodyne performers, judges and comments is the best way to kill off a great show.

I have considered stopping watching this show, as I am becoming increasingly baffled by the judges comments. They usually seem totally at odds with my views or why I am watching. I like to see a celeb attempting to dance and putting their all into it, not just trying to entertain but actually looking like a dancer. For me the potential winners therefore are Jason, Harry, Chelsea or Holly (despite the lack of chemistry between her and the gorgeous Artem). I am impatient for the rest to just get voted out so we can watch a dance competition without Russell, lovely person though he might be, totally camping it up. I think Nancy actually did quite well. I dont think Anton suits her, he is so disparaging and flippant, and I agree with a previous poster that she is being bullied. She is being pasted into the role of a lush, and she is clearly mortified by Bruce's awful jokes about her apparent looseness. The Judges are inconsistent and hypocritical, serving the audiences' supposed predilections. I vote for dance. Chelsea was undermarked. Still, maybe I am watching the wrong show, it is after all reality TV where the audience are encouraged to 'fall for' a contestant's personality and then ignore all of their mistakes!! And I am so sick of the studio standing ovations! That should be stopped.

Regardless of the rights or wrongs of one person leaving before another, the ONLY way to ensure your favourite stays in is to vote.
I do wonder how many are bemoaning Dan leaving before Nancy actually voted for him. It is quite obvious more people voted for Audley & Nancy than Dan, hence why he left.

I did not vote for either!!! I only vote for the dancers that are any good on the night, which is not many at the moment. Dan to arrogant and does not like critisism.... but Nancy should have gone if anybody in their right mind votes properly...........

Its a pity Dan went out not that he was great but at least he wasnt bad a nancy she thinks she is brillant I usually like Bruno but he went overboard about nancy maybe because she is itlian like him its all to do with ratings if nacny is kept in next week some of the better dancers will be put out im sorry for Anton he deserves better

The GBP got it wrong again. Perhaps it would work better if you voted for who you wanted to get rid of. I'd be more inclined to vote. What does anyone else think?

It was obvious Dan was going to go. He was boring and arrogant and loves himself. A fatal combination so no votes.

It was a shame Dan went, he worked hard to improve himself and along with Robbie Savage, showed tremendous improvement over a short period. It is a pity he won't get the opportunity to continue this improvement, after all he had hardly danced in his life and can now actually move around looking a bit like a dancer. On that theme, what is Jason Donovan doing on the show? He's made a living from song and dance in the West End for years. If the Ö÷²¥´óÐã devised a programme such as "Strictly come horse-riding", would they invite Frankie Dettori along as an interesting contestant?

Dance-off will never return following voting fiasco in the series won by Tom Chambers. Likewise voting off will never be allowed; much more open to manipulation( let's all vote Jason off and increase our miscellaneous favourites chances, for example.) There is no way votes can be limited; half a dozen family members may have different opinions and all vote from the same number; totally fairly.
We could go on and on. The reality is that SCD is a light entertainment show where viewers vote for who they choose for any reason they wish. So all the angst and cries of unfair are a complete waste of time and energy. The public gets what the public wants.
Like electrocash@66, I believe Jason is only doing his day job and for that reason will never get my vote. He starts from an entirely different level. Hence saying vote for the best dancer is, IMHO, totally wrong. I will continue to vote for improvement and entertainment; otherwise just give Jason the glitterball now.
Happily, the GBP tends to think the same way, so I am pretty certain Jason wont win; I haven't a clue who will!

You agree with the previous point that Jason is doing what for some years he has made a living from. I am not into dancing but anyone can surely see the dance you see performed in the theater in musicals is totally different to the style of dance that any of the current or past professionals are more used to.

The dance you see performed in musicals is very much a freestyle form of dance where there is no limits on what you can do. The movement in general seems to be based more on expression.
The dance that the pro's are used to may have it's roots in some bygone era, but more recently has been placed in the very competitive world of championships that the pros perhaps once contested in and considered their sport. And because it is a style that is used in competitive dancing theirs more constraints over what you can and cannot do. It is all very strict (no pun intended) and formal.

On the issue of the public voting, As so many of the partnerships poll a million different reasons for them to stay because no one public criteria is in place that the partnerships know they must strive to appealing to, you pretty much leave the producers of the show with no one real logical choice then as to how the partnerships can appeal to the public. If a points system was in place whereby it is ordered according to the public voting percentage and added to the points accrued on on the show, as we saw with Nancy on Saturday she already has 4pts and if she get's 10pts because she pulls the most out of 10 remaining couples that is 14pts, which could be more than a better couple got if their points from their place in the leaderboard was added to the points for their place in the public voting leaderboard.

How could we work it so that we achieve fairness and equality where the best go through and the worst go out?

I feel sorry for Dan being voted off - whatever you think about his personality there is no way he and Katya could be accused of not trying or being bothered much in rehearlsals. Dan was a tennis player and most sportsmen are extremely competitive. He was at a disadvantage being tall the same as Audley, but Audley has more rhythm than Dan did. I'm sure Anton would be quite relieved if they leave next week, Nancy is obviously a difficult woman to handle. Chelsee is for me the real surprise in the show - she's such a natural dancer and I think many people misjudged her initially, I'm sure we will now see her and Pasha's support increase every week.

I absolutely agree with Fanofartem, Anton is just having a laugh at Nancy's expense. He does not appear to be at all supportive, in fact at times he seems to be trying to sabotage their dance. I now think of him as a nasty piece of work who is taking advantage of Nancy's lack of popularity to have a cheap laugh at her expense. I feel really sorry for her.

I think Nancy should go next week, she is the worst of the remaining dancers. I love Anton but I do agree with some of the other comments that he could be more supportive of Nancy. I think Anita, Lulu and Audley are as bad as Nancy but have the advantage of having dance partners who want to teach them and are not going out of their way to make a fool of them as Anton is with Nancy. I wasnt a fan of Nancy before this and I liked Anton but Im furious with his lack of effort- hes a fool, throwing her about like a bag of rags. Why can't he just do some dancing with her instead of acting like a clown - I like Alex and Robbie- such improvement - just shows what good teachers can do. Christine and Ola are fabulous.

I don't mind that there's no Dance Off. But on Sunday night, I wished there's was because the judges would have ( I Believe) voted Nancy off. Someone good is going to leave if the British Public won't vote her off .

I felt Dan only had himself to blame for his early exit. While he could be funny, he also came across as smug and arrogant, and didn't accept criticism from the judges (or Katya?). His arrogance allied to Anton's popularity and increased votes for Audley was always going to destroy his chances. A pity in a way as I felt Katya was improving him as a dancer and I'll miss her on the show.

Wish people would listen to Craig R.H. Dan Lob, thought just knowing the dance steps was dancing................ and when will it be Antons turn to get a gazzelle and not a goat?

• Agree with the comments is ITT really live, Recorded Mondays episode so watched Monday and Tuesday's episodes back to back, As Dan and katya were on Mondays prog, Anton on Tuesday’s episode made a cheeky comment about Dan and then said " is he still in the building" - recorded on the same day or is Dan being kept in a cupboard at the Ö÷²¥´óÐã , Alex on Tuesday said she had been training on the new routine for 5 hours James then jumped in and said 10 hours, Are we being taken for fools-- we all know Sunday’s show is recorded on Saturday so why keep up the charade, come clean it wont spoil our viewing

I can't believe you can make us think sunday is not recorded on saturday, just because the you change the presenters dresses the audience is still in the same clothes, unless you make them sit there all night.

Goonerchick (76) & Maureen (77). Totally agree with you both. I raised this issue earlier in this blog (see No28). But just like last year it's being totally ignored. The Ö÷²¥´óÐã seem to think were all mugs and try to lead us to believe the Sunday show is, if not live, at least filmed on Sunday....but we know the truth!

Interesting comments about Nancy. But who actually is she ?

I know we live in the age of the celebrity, where sleeping with a footballer is enough in itself to warrant celebrity status for the individual concerned. But I don't think that the Ö÷²¥´óÐã should be joining in with this.

Nancy's only claim to fame is that she used to be one of several women who "enjoyed the company" of the former England football team manager. That's it. It is sad to see the Ö÷²¥´óÐã descend to such a level that they think that this is worthy of an invitation to take part in the show.

I can't believe you can make us think sunday is not recorded on saturday, just because the you change the presenters dresses the audience is still in the same clothes, unless you make them sit there all night.

We know the truth , but I never thought about the audience syill in the same clothes. We do look at the audience. Why don't they say that they record the results on saturday night.
