Silent Witness – Lost: Part 1 Ep 3/10

Monday 10 January
9.00-10.00pm Ö÷²¥´óÐã ONE

When a preserved female body is found buried in a peat moor in Sheffield, DI Sonia Hardwick decides to call in an archaeologist, Professor Patrick Cain, in the first of a new two-part story of the forensic crime drama.

Nikki is temporarily working with the professor and he invites her along to the scene. Much to the annoyance of DI Hardwick, Patrick persuades the coroner to release the body for examination to the Lyell centre in London.

Meanwhile, Leo is out of sorts and Janet is worried but unsure what to do. His oddly subdued reaction to the arrival of the ancient bog body concerns Nikki and Harry.

As a group of excited students observe from the gallery, Patrick delivers a speculative lecture on the ancient bog body. Nikki finds evidence of knife wounds to the hands which the professor believes may indicate a ritual killing. However, findings of further wounds concentrated around the abdomen and genitalia suggest a sexually motivated attack.

Struck by a memory, Leo searches through his archives for a case he dealt with in Sheffield in 1985; the so-called "ketamine killings" carried out by self-confessed serial killer Karl Bentley. That night, he decides to examine the bog body himself and Nikki catches him in the act. Leo tells her he believes that the body could be a suspected victim who was never found – Jodie Fisher.

Leo travels to his home town of Sheffield to collect a DNA sample from Jodie's mother, Carol. The trip is an emotional one for Leo as he is haunted by memories of his dead wife and child. It is putting a strain on his relationship with Janet, just when they have decided to adopt a baby.

That night, on the streets of Sheffield, shop worker Kelly Summers is killed on her way home from work.

DI Sonia Hardwick is played by Christine Tremarco, Professor Patrick Cain by Mark Benton, Dr Nikki Alexander by Emilia Fox, Professor Leo Dalton by William Gaminara, Janet by Jaye Griffiths, Dr Harry Cunningham by Tom Ward and Carol Fisher by Barbara Flynn. Lost is written by Richard Davidson.

Episodes Ep 1/7

New series
Monday 10 January
10.00-10.30pm Ö÷²¥´óÐã TWO (Schedule addition 16 December)

Matt LeBlanc, Stephen Mangan, Tamsin Greig and Richard Griffiths star in this new seven-part comedy series for Ö÷²¥´óÐã Two.

The story revolves around a happily married English couple, Sean and Beverly Lincoln, who also happen to be the successful producers of a hit British TV show called Lyman's Boys. At an awards ceremony in London they are wooed by a hugely powerful and charismatic US network executive who persuades them to move out to LA and remake their hit show for an American audience – with disastrous results.

Things begin to unravel at Sean and Beverly's first studio meeting. It soon becomes clear that the network president has never even seen their show. To make matters worse, he insists they replace their lead actor, an erudite Royal Shakespeare Company veteran played by Richard Griffiths, with Matt LeBlanc. Sean and Beverly are appalled, but the decision is out of their hands. Matt comes on board and they find themselves in a complicated triangle, which threatens to destroy not just their TV show but also their marriage, too.

Written by David Crane (Friends) and Jeffrey Klarik (Mad About You), Episodes stars Matt LeBlanc as himself, Stephen Mangan as Sean Lincoln, Tamsin Greig as Beverly Lincoln, Kathleen Rose Perkins as Carol Rance, Mircea Monroe as Morning Randolph, Daisy Haggard as Myra and Richard Griffiths as Julian Bullard.
