Ivan Blackstock is Co-Founder & Artistic Director of BirdGang Dance Company. He describes himself as a multifaceted artist who stimulates audiences through movement with the guidance of music, film and lighting design.
His work is both intense and extremely visually conceptual and he brings to the stage a signature style both illustrative and thought-provoking.
Blackstock has worked commercially on music videos, advertisements and in street dance productions. His credits include: Dynamo, A Harlem Dream, Breakin Convention, Jonzi-D's Lyrikal Fearta, Company of Elders, TAG…Just Writing My Name, Glastonbury Festival, Adidas, Reebok and STRIKE!
Other television credits include So You think You Can Dance UK and Dancing with the Stars USA. He has also worked with acclaimed artists such as; Rita Ora, Dizzee Rascal and will.i.am.
Blackstock is currently focusing on a future creating work for the theatre.
