The fixer

Jo Raven makes sure the ships are well maintained and shipshape.

About Jo Raven

Jo Raven is a bit of a troubelshooter and 'fixer' on board the ocean linears.

She works for a company called Trimline who maintain and fit out the interiors of ships.

In Sea City, we see Jo supervising a small army of craftsmen who are making small repairs and fitting carpets to the Queen Mary 2, Cunard鈥檚 transatlantic liner.

The team have a short few hours to work on the ship in port before it sails with new passengers. Time is extremely tight.

"Passengers are going to start coming on board. It's a bit of a mad rush round before that happens," says Jo.

"We always try and remain on the scene as much as possible."

As the maintenance work is spread around several decks, Jo can end up walking miles up and down stairs and along corridors.

She can tell - she measures it with an electronic tracker.

"I can trek up to as much as about 20 miles in a day. It keeps me fit!"
