Meet Pete Wicks
Putting the tan in Tango!
The only way is Elstree for Pete Wicks, he’s ready to dance like nobody is watching and face the Strictly Judges!
We first saw Pete on our screens in 2015 when he joined the cast of reality show The Only Way is Essex (TOWIE). He remained as one of the most prominent cast members until his departure in 2021. Some of Pete’s most memorable storylines were his relationships with Megan McKenna and Shelby Tribble, as well as his secret romance with friend Chloe Sims.
After TOWIE Pete made appearances on a number of TV shows including Celebrity Island with Bear Grylls, Celebrity MasterChef and The Real Full Monty. During his TV career Pete has been bitten by a shark and even danced completely naked on stage, but nothing compares to the Strictly dance floor (this time with his clothes on).
Pete is well known for is his friendship with fellow reality star, Sam Thompson. Meeting when they both joined the past of Celebs Go Dating in 2019, they immediately hit it off and despite not finding love on the show, they found each other. The pair began creating online content together, before starting their now hugely successful podcast Staying Relevant in 2022. They’ve even taken the show on the road, with a tour that saw them play the London Palladium and the Eventim Apollo.
Pete has recently released his autobiography Never Enough; a book in which he speaks openly about his mental health and life experiences dealing with grief, love and friendship.
He’s a man of many talents, but how will they transfer to the Strictly Ballroom? We’ll soon find out!
