Now it's time to take a drink in our alliterative week for 'Thirsty Thursday'. Anyone fancy a glass of Red Red Wine? Maybe some Whisky in the Jar? Or even some Tequila? Thanks for a lovely 'Tuneful Tuesday' folks... after the rip-roaring 'Manic Monday', it was nice to get some sweet melody swimming around in our ears and calm us down a wee bit! As we reach the middle of the week, the alliteration keeps going with 'Walking Wednesday' and a selection of your suggestions dedicated to that ambulatory activity. I think we'll accept rambling, strolling, marching, hiking, staggering, sauntering, promenading and pacing, so there's no excuse... I quite fancy hearing 'I'm Walking' by Fats Domino and the song the title of this blog refers to by Mr Lou Reed. But you choose the music, remember... Why not get onto your feet and take a wander about while making that crucial decision?!

Thanks for welcoming me back to the show. 'Manic Monday' was indeed a little hectic with loads of your choices flooding in. Tomorrow on the show; I continue the alliteration with 'Tuneful Tuesday'... I know it's not the trickiest of themes, is it?! So send me your suggestions of tunes that have an undeniable hum-ability! We're looking for the songs that you find yourself whistling when waiting for the bus; the choruses that have you harmonising in the car; and the vocals that make you spontaneously burst into a sing-a-long...! Please select your favourite hits which you can't get out of your head. For me, I could recommend 'Good Vibrations', 'New York New York', 'That's Entertainment' or 'Stand & Deliver'... but it's not up to me - you choose the music, so get involved!

"Yes, it's your Uncle Vic here and let me say it's great to be back in the 'Get it On' saddle once again, riding the bucking bronco of eclectic music into the sunset for another 5 days. Bryza's on holiday for a week and it's me holding the reins. So giddy-up and yeehaw! This week it's all about alliteration, starting with 'Manic Monday'. As you can probably guess, we want you to come up with ideas for songs that sound like they're in a hurry or running wild... It could be 'Rush Hour', 'Running up that hill', or 'Running to stand still'; songs that speed along and don't outstay their welcome such as 'Neat Neat Neat' or 'Great balls of fire'; or songs that hint at madness like 'Crazy in love' or 'She's lost Control'. I know you wont let me down... It's a simple concept, but one that works - you choose the music and we get it on!"

I hope you were one of the lucky ones who made it along in person, or at least got to listen live, to our Ö÷²¥´óÐã Scotland foyer gig last week for Children in Need. It was classic Scottish pop line up featuring The Rezillos, The Bluebells and Love and Money and they were all superb. You can listen to it again online until tomorrow teatime so do take the time to catch up with it.

Tomorrow’s theme neatly ties in with last Friday – it’s big bands in small places. I’ll be asking you to get in touch with your nominations of the best wee gigs you ever saw. Were you lucky enough to see a mega-act play to a select crowd, or do you just want to suggest a band that have never made it to stadium level?

That was a busy one tonight. I could have filled the show with just the jukebox memories, never mind the actual songs. There were some great tales of cafes and chip shops, but a lot of the memories seemed to come from the pub and I wonder ( without encouraging excess consumption of alcohol) if there's a theme to be done around the idea of your first time in a pub and the music you remember.

Tomorrow night we are dabbling in philosophy and the pop songs that like to philosophise, so don't be shy about sharing your favourites.

Tomorrow's theme celebrates the fact that this week in 1899 the world's first jukebox was installed. So get in touch and let me know what song do you always look for and play in the pub? (Actually do they still have jukeboxes in pubs?)

Despite the shouty-ness of tonight's theme there was total silence on our studio tonight. It was embarrasingly down to the fact that my over enthusiasim for the volume control during Born in the USA blew the speakers, or as Miss Babs told our tech guy: "Oooh we seem to have done something that has made the speakers go silent!" I ask you - what kind of hi-fi can't handle a bit of Springsteen??

As Bucks Fizz fans will testify, the camera never lies - although looking at the wrinkles in that photo I wish that were not the case. That song was pre-digital though so I guess it's up there with Half a Sixpence and C30,C60,C90 Go as songs which are out of date.

Tomorrow's theme is 'photography' and I wonder what will be the picture for tomorrow night's show. I want to avoid Blur but definitely want Focus. I'll accept both songs and artists with photographic connections so that could be anything from Roddy Frame to Girls on Film.

There's lots going on for Children In Need on Ö÷²¥´óÐã radio Scotland with special shows from Fred, the Comedy café and Tom Morton in the afternoon. After the six o clock news, Cat Shearer joins me for a four hour spectacular as we bring you some great live music and special guests alongside all the fundraising fun.

Our classic Scottish pop line up of The Bluebells, the Rezillos and Love and Money will kick things off then we will bring you musical and comedy highlights throughout the night.

As well as all the good music I will also be playing some terrible music - in fact some of the worst music ever recorded.

I'll be staging a special edition of the programme called Get It off. So, instead of asking you to call in and get It On I'll be playing the worst music of all time and ask you to text in, pledge some cash and ....Get It off.

In an effort to get you all to pick up the phone and donate to Children In Need on Friday we are turning to the telephone for Thursday's theme. That could be anything from ELO's Telephone Line to Telephone Man by Meri Wilson. If you need any more encouragement then tune in on Friday lunchtime on Ö÷²¥´óÐã Radio Scotland for Pudsey Pays Out when I'll be visiting some of the charities who have benefitted from your generosity and hearing their good news stories.

There may well be a million love songs, but you won't be hearing any of them on Wednesday's Get It On. You can ask for anything you like as long as it's not a song about love.

I think it's a great idea for a theme but it's one that is much trickier than it appears. If you thought our 'cosy on the couch' theme was a bit too romantic then this will serve as the perfect antidote. I guess it's a good show to listen to if you've recently been dumped but I should point out that songs about falling out of love are also banned.

It could be your favourite artist singing about work, drink or even getting a bus - just as long as they don't get all romantic on us!

Tomorrow's Get It On it's all about the beatand I'm looking for the songs that start with drums. There's Dreamin' for the obligatory Blondie song but there's also stuff like Stevie Wonder's Superstition and Adele's Rumour Has It. Whether it's a bass drum or a snare, get intouch with your suggestions of song that start with drums.

It didn't take a genius to work out that tonight's show of stunning songs was going to produce a truly stunning show. I'm glad it was a Friday night as I am sure many folk listening decided to down tools and just enjoy the music - I know we were tempted.

We've got some good themes lined up for next week but Monday's show is definitely not for the odontophobists among you.

We are doing to do Dentistry as a theme so, why don't you come up and see me and make me smile with your suggestions.

Any show that plays Bonnie Raitt, Bonnie Prince Billy and kd Lang with Carole King* is one that I would happily cosy up on the couch with. It really worked as a theme and I enjoyed hearing about many of you cracking open the red wine and relaxing on the couch while listening. I was planning a big night oot but sadly listening to the show just made me want to go home for a cosy night in. Ach well plenty of time for that throughout the winter.

It's Henri's theme of the 'songs that were so stunning they stopped you in your tracks' and it's very nature guarantees a night of incredible music. Looking forward to seeing what you come up with.

Following last night's kerfuffle where the presenter of the popular teatime music show couldn't even get the theme right I am on safer ground with Thursday's theme.
As the nights get colder and darker it's the perfect excuse for a cosy evening on the couch with your favourite songs.

Do you like to curl up with your nearest and dearest and chill out? Perhaps you like to stretch out, put on some headphones and get lost in something long and interesting? Or
Or does a night painting your nails to some pop appeal?

Oh and if you don't have anyone to cosy up with then, put the radio on and your feet up and enjoy a perfect night in with us...

Hope you are not sweating too much after tonight's workout theme. It was interesting to hear the range of tunes that get you going in the gym and I have got a few new things to add to my mix - Chemical Brothers definitely worked for me. Thanks also to Norrie who passed on the Springsteen workout although I understand Adam from Rio was the blogger who originally found it. in case anyone missed it. Tomorrow's show will be full of ups and downs...but in a good way. From Moving on Up to Down in the Subway, and from The Overlanders to The Undertones it promises to be our most topsy turvy show ever.

Tomorrow night I am running a special offer for membership of the Get It On gym. No monthly fees and no lengthy contracts, all you have to do is turn up in your gym kit and bring at least one song suggestion.

If you are looking to get in shape for Christmas then this is the show for you. I'll be looking for the tracks that you use to work out to.

We'll start with a bit of a warm-up, raise the tempo as we get to the hardest bit of our workout and then finish with a 20 minute cool down. (There will of course be a break during the 7pm news to allow you to get a drink and towel yourself down.)

Stick with me and you will end up with perfect pecs, awesome abs and top tunes.

It's songs that feature the movies on Monday night's show so hopefully you will come up with some Oscar winning suggestions. What are the songs that reference your favourite movies or movie stars? Does Power Station's nod to Marilyn Monroe's classic make the cut or is the Don McLean classic that shared it's name with the hit American comedy franchise?

I hope you all feel squeaky clean after tonight's bath time special. It was a great theme with some clever suggestions and some good puns. 'Loofah Vandross', 'Imperial Leather and Lace' and 'I Ran' ( a bath!) by Flock of Seagulls all made me laugh.

I am hoping you won't be behind the wheel tomorrow as the theme is 'car chases'. If you were a movie producer then what music would you set it to? There are loads of brilliant tunes that will work, but for me I don't think anything is as perfect as the theme to Starsky and Hutch.

I'm guessing there won't be many ballads suggested tomorrow then...

That was the weirdest show I've done in a long time. Normally, Get It On is a non-stop hive of activity as we juggle texts and emails, switch songs around and then throw in a few surprise tracks at the very last moment. It's normally a case of trying to cram as many tunes in as possible. Our theme of 'long songs' was popular and I'm glad so many folk seemed to enjoy it, but it was frustrating as there was a lot that I didn't have time to play, never mind read out. Wednesday's theme should be a bit easier. It's 'bath time' and that could take in everything from Wash Me Clean to Tiny Bubbles. I look forward to getting your blog posts, emails and texts...just don't take the phone in the bath with you.

During all the huffing and puffing on tonight's show, Kirsten and I decided to impose a lower limit for tomorrow night's 'long songs' theme. Therefore we will sadly be unable to accept anything that's under five minutes.

As far as the upper limit goes then the sky is truly the limit although I must say I'd struggle with anything over ten. Then again I do have a very low boredom threshold.

The downside is that we will not get through half the tunes we normally play but the upside is that I wont have to wait till the 7 o' clock news for a cup of tea.
