Hey there, I love Springwatch and the owls, but here is a question that has been bothering me and my neighbour, There is a duck in my neighbour's garden that has been laying eggs randomly around the place.... What is going on in this duck's mind??

I and many others are sick to death of Chris's innuendos and the homophobic 'Brockeback Mountain remark is the end Springwatch for me and others that have been discussing him online. He is the reason why viewing figures are dropping like a stone, more of us have gone now...

I am a big fan of Springwatch and just saw this episode where you visit the Isle of Man, and I'm very, very disappointed that you chose to fly there and show this on the programme. There's a real contradiction there that you push the nature conservation message on the programme and yet take short haul flights within the British Isles. It sends a really unhelpful and contradictory message. How can you on the one hand promote conservation and on the other so casually take a short flight so needlessly?

Gavin did it occur to you they may not have flown at all - the shot may just have been for effect? How do you think they got the crew and their equipment there? How about the motorbike and sidecar? Hmm.

And Mark, that's an over-reaction. I could have been offended by this, but I'm really not. Come on guys, lighten up a bit!

Yes Mark I agree you are over-reacting... Chris was just making a joke... Did you leave your sense of humour in a rabbit hole?... That too is a JOKE and please don't be offended! He may have a tacky sense of homour but I don't actually believe homophobia is quite there... Well I hope not anyway... ;)

We have newtlets in a tub in the garden will they spend the winter in the tub or do they leave like frogs? Also we feed the hedgehogs & have nightly visits will they eat newts & frogs? We think the show is the best!

Enjoyed last night's programme....although my little lad Arthur was in tears because Martin had no-one to camp with when Chris made his hasty departure!! Can't wait til Monday's show but we'll keep busy over the weekend with our Bug Watch..

I live in the isle of man.tt is crazy lukuly i havent seen eny wildlife on the road yet acsept for a cat but it made it acros.

Do you ever show Pigeon babies. I know they are not liked, but niether a rats and there is loads of wildlife footage of rats.

Recently on springwatch Chris mentioned the use of the uyropidual gland (preen glands) in birds. I am aware of the fact that certain birds including buzzards dont have preen glands; how do they keep dry? and was this what the mother buzzard was doing on the show on Thursday?

I agree with their enthusiasm over the choughs. I stood for ages once watching them in Ronda, in Spain. Absolutely awesome bird.

Great footage of the Choughs. Where my Mum lives in Spain there is quite a big flock of them. When we were on holiday there in June last year, they flew over the house in the morning to feed on the hills behind, then back again in the evening. Spectacular sight. Unfortunately we only saw one this year as we went over earlier in the year.

Loved the Brokeback joke. Didn't see it as homophobic at all. Chris Packham is the best part of the show.

Can't believe that the comment made by Chris has offended anyone, clearly that was never the intention. For me his enthusiasm and humour are a big part of what makes Springwatch so great. If this is all some people have to get upset about, then please get a life!!

Was goinmg to tell C&M to say hi to my grandson on Man, but after that Brokeback remark...

Incredible how easily some folks are offended nowadays. Trying to take all the fun out of humour. The segment was very entertaining and dare I say, also amusing. The aerobatics the Choughs were performing was quite spectacular, something I haven't seen before. Thanks.

We have made a beautiful wildlife pond in our garden. It was full of tadpoles, sticklebacks, pond skaters, whirlygig beetles, newts and lucious plants. They are gone or devastated due to a pair of mallard ducks who would love to set up home there. It is breaking our hearts to witness the destruction. Is there anything we can do - my husband wants to buy an air rifle. Help!!

Great pics guys, CP in leather - aaaaaahhhhhhhh. Give me some, please! AND Choughs are awesome birds. Watched them at South Stack on Anglesey last year, and hopefully going back there in a couple of weeks to see them again. Their acrobatics are spectacular. Lovin' them too! As for the negative comments on Chris earlier - shame on you, he is the best part of the programme and makes wildlife watching more exciting with his quirky, commical edge, his knowledge and passion are unquestionable. There!

You don't have to go to the Isle of Man for Choughs, they're at Aberdyfi and on the Gower too!

Mmmm CW_74 we dont need a life but children watch this and it will be up to parents to explain comments like Brokeback mountain to them, unless Mr Packham would like to explain to the viewers himself on Mondays show. Do you see Kate or Martin making these type of comments, No, so lets keep the comments clean and viewers may return. This is not the first time Mr Packham has made such comments but I hope it will be the last.

What about the countless soap operas on TV these days at around 7pm that deal with sexuality? Surely children watch that and ask questions? Why bring up children to be totally oblivious to the real world? It was only a joke.

Really makes me laught, all the negative comments about Chris ... bla bla bla... he's the reason my 3 year old nephew is watching Springwatch!!!

I love Springwatch, but I found Chris Packham's homophobic 'joke' about not sharing a tent with the Martin he had seen Brokeback Mountain, offensive, inappropriate, unnecessary and completely unfunny. (Thursday 9th June) Coming across such blatant homophobia on the Ö÷²¥´óÐã is depressing and I hope he will be challenged about it. I notice homophobia is not allowed on the blog!

One for CHRIS: those lamprays are certainly 'a design for life!' :)

OMG The joke about Brokeback mountain was sooo not meant to offend anyone , It was a joke plain and simple , and I thought the mini film was really funny and loved watching the choughs , Come on guys whats with all the Chris battering that is going on , he is very very informative on the show and his chemistry with Kate and Martin is good to watch , they all get on so well .
Oh and by the way I have kids that watch the show and they didn't bat an eyelid at the Brokeback joke , They were more concerned Martin was left on his own hahaha .
I'm just wondering what you are all gonna say about Martin being in all his glory in the river * I nearly fainted * *thud* I did lol .
Funny and entertaining oh and very informative .

Well basically Kieth It's about two gay men who have some tent action , Beautiful film but the tent action is what everyone remembers ;)

Stunning Film footage last night of those beautiful birds , the colour of their eyes was breath taking :) Also didn't realise Martin was a stuntman too , oh wait he's not right !!
Funniest thing Iv'e seen In a while I can tell you , the sight of Martin somersaulting over that fence , watched It about 5 times and nearly did myself real damage cos I was laughing so much ;)

I have a very large wasp/hornet in my garden, using a nest box. I have looked it up at it seems that I should destroy it. I don't like the idea of this, what should I do.

hils 50, Once again, if they aren't bothering you, leave it alone. They will die off and the queen will move on. I discovered an enormous disused nest in our loft several years ago that I didn't even know was there.
