In pictures: Iolo Williams takes on Skomer Island
Welsh wildlife expert Iolo Williams joins us from one of the finest Welsh wildlife locations, . Producer Dan Rees has been out with the team with his camera.
Iolo Williams on Skomer Island
Iolo's already been under the waves to explore .
Filming the dive
He'll be exploring the lives of the largest colony of Manx shearwater in the world, a third of the entire world population of the species, as they get together to breed. And he'll get up close and personal with the latest arrivals to the island as new hatchlings take centre stage. Look out for , guillemots and puffins.
Puffins
Iolo and the team are out filming at all times of day and night and in all weather conditions as they take on the wilds of this beautiful Welsh island.
Out at sea and in low lighting, the team are still filming
Watch Iolo report live from Skomer next week (6-9 June) on Springwatch.

well worth a visit!!

We were dropped off in a very small boast at 10am and collected at 5pm - there was nobody else there, except hundreds of puffins. We had to climb a ring of tyres up the cliff face to get onto the island and there was no shade at all, we still talk about it as one of the highlights of any of our holidays. Brilliant to see you are there - and it doesn't seem to have changed !!

The weather was perfect for the trip and we were not disappointed with the display from the Puffins in particular whom we had gone to see and photograph. What an amazing little bird. We could not get over how close they came and did not seem to be frightened by people. Planning on returning again in a few weeks, weather permitting. We have visited the Puffins on the Isle of May but in July but Skomer surpassed our expectations.
