Awwww. I was looking forward to Tina doing something a bit more challenging this week. How long does Chicken Pox usually last for? What are the chances that it'll be over in a week?

I sympathise with Tina - had chickenpox as an adult myself and it's not nice. Quite possible that she's passed it on as the incubation period is quite long before the spots appear

Poor Tina, chicken pox can be really nasty in adults. I'd actually be surprised if she is back after only one week - unless she is lucky and has a mild does.

I wish Tina a swift recovery from this itchy disease. Also, I trust this has not affected Ann Widecombe as it often transmits as the painful SHINGLES disease. You really wouldn't want that now!

You don't catch Shingles from Chicken Pox. To develop Shingles you have to have had Chicken Pox in the past. It stays dormant in the nerves and Shingles can develop when someone is under the weather or stressed.

With any luck she will not have had Chicken Pox as a child so could be on the road to recovery. Normally starts with a fever & irritability followed by the spots which once all are scabbed the worst is over.

I had this as an adult and I wish her a speedy recovery - but from my experience it leaves you exhausted, not up to dance training. I was signed off for 3 weeks AND there was the worry of who I might have been in contact with before the spots appeared.
Good luck Tina, but your health is the most important thing, so do not let the Ö÷²¥´óÐã pressure you back before you feel ready.

Concentrate on looking after yourself. Try not to stress about missing the show or racing back to training. Stress is not good for the immune system. Wishing you a speedy recovery. B4p

How awful for Tina, best wishes for a very speedy recovery but, as has been said laready, your health is the priority so take care of yourself first and foremost.

Poor Tina!
I doubt she'll be back, chickenpox takes a while to recover from as an adult. I felt bad for weeks after having it. She can be proud of what she did so far, and concentrate on getting better.

Many years ago my best friend at school had chicken pox and she wasn't allowed back for 3 weeks due to cross-infection worries. I hope Tina gets well soon, but I also hope that the cast of Strictly are not now all going to go down with Chicken Pox. Let's hope they had it when they were children.

What bad luck - chickenpox of all things - did you catch it from your little girl I wonder. What bad luck - Do hope all is well and you can rejoin the programme next week - as you are definitely now a contender!

I sympathise with you as I had this as an adult was in hospital for a week left me so exhausted. Hopefully unlike me you caught it early enough and are getting the medication you need. Get lots of rest and hope you feel better soon

I had CP as an adult - I was 25 - and I was really ill. I had no energy for about two weeks, and was left feeling drained and depressed. it's ok in childhood, but as an adult it's not much fun. With internal spots everywhere it's worse than you can imagine. :-(

Look after yourself Tina, you are much more important than a dance competition. I have never had chickenpox not even when my children & grandchildren had it, it was the one childish ailment I had a horror of. I really feel for you and hope you make a great recovery, but don't put your health at risk

Chicken pox is awful. I caught it from my children when I was 32 - off work for three weeks while they were entirely unaffected, apart from a few spots. She won't be back next week...
