Strictly Come Dancing fans dancing at Ö÷²¥´óÐã Television Centre

Ìý

Last Sunday, hundreds of Strictly fans descended on Ö÷²¥´óÐã Television Centre for a day of entertainment, magic and - of course - dancing.

People attending the eventÌýgot to meet a hostÌýof StrictlyÌýfaces including pro dancers Kristina, Erin, Jared and Karen, as well as someÌýformer celebrity contestants. Paul Daniels had a few tricks up his sleeve, Darren Gough knocked everyone for six and Joe Calzaghe showed off some of his famous fancy footwork.

The day culminated in fans dancing to Karen Hardy's specially choreographed routine, which was filmed to be used as a Ö÷²¥´óÐã One ident this Christmas.

If you were there, why not share some of your memories of the day by leaving a comment below.

MY DAUGHTER AND I ATTENDING THE STRICTLY EXPERIENCE ON SUNDAY LAST AND HAD A BLAST. WE TRAVELLED DOWN FROM CHESHIRE REALLY HOPING WE WOULD GET IN ON TIME. FROM START TO FINISH THE Ö÷²¥´óÐã STAFF AND ALL THE STRICTLY FOLK TREATED US SO WELL. MY 14 YR OLD DAUGHTER ENDED UP BEING PAUL DANIELS ASSISTANT FOR A MAGIC TRICK. IT TOOK ABIT LONGER FOR ME TO LEARN THE CHA CHA CHA STEPS THAN MY DAUGHTER BUT I GOT THERE IN THE END! EVEN THOUGH IT WAS FREEZING OUTSIDE FILMING FOR TWO HOURS TO GET THE RIGHT SHOTS IT WAS WORTH IT JUST TO BE A PART OF SUCH A GREAT EVENT. I CANT WAIT TO SEE THE FINAL INDENT AS LONG AS THEIR ARE NO CLOSEUPS OF ME!!!!!!!! PS KAREN HARDY IS AMAZING AND MOTIVATED US THROUGHOUT IN 4 INCH JIMMY CHOOS (PPS ; THE CHOREOGRAPHY TEAM WERE ALSO SO INSPIRATIONAL)

be warned the Ö÷²¥´óÐã blog police are around. I have had two posts removed - neither of which had any swear words, attacked anybody etc etc. What one asked was who wanted to see AW - ok I did say Charmless and talentless - thrown about the floor and the other one said I was hoping to hear she had resigned and that my work colleagues were thinking of not watching any more because they felt it was making amockery of the show when other celebs were being voted out and AW was still in - as far as I can see perfectly reasonable comments. And to think the question about the female professionals sexual orientation was kept in!

Gutted! I was still waiting for my email telling me when I could apply for tickets - I'd hoped it had been postponed as I couldnt see any information on the website for weeks. so disappointed! :(

Had a lovely time thank you for the lunch! Cha cha cha!

I was really disappointed not to receive an email either. I've been dancing for the last for years and would loved to have got a chance to do something like this! IT was even more disappointing because I didn't have any luck getting tickets for the show either! It would have been nice to receive an email saying sorry but we've got all our places or something. :(

My partner & I were lucky enough to have been given the tickets by a friend who couldn't go. I had applied as well but didn't get tickets. We were told that over 900,000 people applied so everyone who go a ticket was really lucky. It was a fabulous day. And I found us on the piture above

I attended the event with my mum, and the day was so much more than what we'd imagined. Even though it was cold, even filming was amazing, and we can't wait to see the final result from everyone's hard work. The routine that Karen Hardy choreographed was great, and along with the professionals teaching the routine to us, they were all incredibly motivational. and everyone was treated so well by all the staff and the celebs and professionals who were involved with the whole day. It was a once in a lifetime experience and it was such an amazing day to be a part of, and despite the three hour drive from Yorkshire and our early start, it was truly incredible and the effort that everyone put in made it that extra bit special.

We had the most fantastic time at strictly get dancing. The staff were great and considering the amount of people there was to organise it was all very well done! I was lucky enough to do a waltz routine with Ricky Grover under the tutelage of Erin and Christina, meeting Darren Gough and Jared - what gentlemen they all were and what an opportunity. The dance created by Karen Hardy was both simple to learn but very effective en masse and she provided great encouragement and motivation during the long process of filming. My feet are still sore 3 days on but we wouldn't have missed it for anything!

What? it's already happened? I don't get it - I signed up to be notified when I could apply and no email came - this is just not fair! I had been trying the steps out at home for weeks....grrrrrr

You should know from last year that a programme idiot wasn't a good idea. What happened to Christmas being Christmas?

Not really festive is it? Ö÷²¥´óÐã cutting back...now Ö÷²¥´óÐã TV Centre used for the Idents now! No more swimming hippos who dont go around in Circles!

Hi guys, I've been lucky enough to get tickets for the Blackpool show on the 20th November. Myself and my wife are travelling from Ireland for it. We should hopefully get to the venue for about 1. Doors open at half 2. Do you think we'll get in? It's the earliest we can make it with flights etc. Thanks guys.

I understood that TV Centre was being used because it is 50 years old this year. It was quite special for me to be involved as my grandfather was a foreman on the construction of it.

I was one of the lucky ones who received tickets for the Strictly Get Dancing experience - What a brilliant day from start to finish, my sister and I came from Plymouth the night before and arrived in the queue at 9am, the organisation of so many people was excellent.
We didn't have a clue what an "Ident" was before we arrived and were really pleased to be a part of it. Karen worked us hard and we were exhausted at the end (aged 61 and 68!!!), just hope we did her justice. There were all sorts of shapes, sizes and ages, now looking forward to seeing the finished Ident and wondering if we got left on the Editors floor!!! but if we have it was still worth it - THANK YOU Ö÷²¥´óÐã

What, please, is the purpose of having this blog if you remove any posting that criticizes any aspect of the program? You are happy to leave the posting if I tell you how much I love SCD, which I do, but as soon as I suggest (respectfully) a way of improving the program my comment gets removed. This is the year 2010 in what is supposedly a democratic country. Please behave accordingly.

I would like to ask......is Ola Jordan Pregnant? after wathcing it takes 2 last night i really think she is? is she is that is such fantstic news for both her and James!!! xx

  • Comment number 19.

@ abak We don't remove critical posts, only those that either break the house rules or are off topic. I suspect your comment was removed from this blog for being off-topic. Thanks

Had the most amazing time with my friend - was totally exhausted at the end - doing cha cha moves for two hours was really tiring - now I know what the celebs feel like after their training! No wonder they're losing weight! The only reason I'd like to be famous is so I could get to dance on the show - what a tremendous experience it must be. Thanks to the beeb for a great day and something I won't ever forget - I'll be looking out for a slightly uncoordinated forty something in a pink and black top when it finally airs!

    Hi Ö÷²¥´óÐã team,

Had an amazing day with my 15 year old daughter, who was in heaven! She is a dance fanatic, mostly Ballet and Modern who competes at a national standard. I on the other hand am a 48 year old Dad who has never learned a dance routine in his life, so it came as a bit of a shock to learn I was going to be taking part (I had thought my day would be admiring the professional dancing girls) My daughter (who had learned the routine in about 5 minuets) had a hoot trying to get me up to speed over lunch and thank goodness at least a tiny bit sunk in before we started.

I undersand part of the preparation was filmed for a program called 'IT TAKES TWO' and wondered when this was due to be shown?

Thanks to all at the Ö÷²¥´óÐã you were brilliant :D

I am still buzzing after being part of the Strictly Get Dancing event last Sunday. Ached for days and have 1 2 cha cha cha in my head constantly!

Hannah, Christine and Stuart were fantastic teaching us the Cha Cha Cha!
    Great characters.

Being part of the Ident is something I am very proud of and I cant wait to see the final cut. (Wearing purple and orange!)

The Ö÷²¥´óÐã staff were so organised and helpful.

This made up for never being able to get a ticket for the show, which I dont think I ever will. Karen Hardy asked how many people had seen the show and 3 people put there hands up, out of hundreds of people at the event.

We had photos with Kristina and Joe. Karen Hardy was lovely so natural and inspiring.

Will any of the day be shown on It Takes Two?

I have a question, do all the dancers have new shoes with each costume? I dance and find I wear the same shoes as they begin to mould your feet and feel comfortable.
Thank you so much for giving me this opportunity.

My husband and I attended the strictly experience last sunday and thought the whole day was absolutely fabulous. The staff were excellent and everything was organised brilliantly. We thought the dancing show in the theatre was especially great and cant believe how much trouble the Ö÷²¥´óÐã went to for us. The presenter was very entertaining and it was so nice to see the celebrities and professional dancers close up. The day went from one surprise to another and we thouroughly enjoyed it! Thank you very much Ö÷²¥´óÐã

How can you get tickets for the current series?

Thank you for a wonderful experience last Sunday, I had the most fantastic day. Will remember it forever!

My partner and I were lucky enough to get tickets to this 'once in a lifetime experience' and could not fault one second of it! We arrived at around 10:30 am and spent the next hour panicking that we wouldn't get in - but, the Gods of luck were with us still!
The Studio Audience Team were FANTASTIC - so helpful, friendly, enthusiastic and professional. It was great to see some of the outfits worn by past contestants up close and personal.
We'd spent a little time at home learning Karen's Cha Cha Cha so didn't feel too out of place during the group practice session - a huge thanks to Hannah, Christine and Stuart for making this part of the day such a giggle!
After a studio visit to watch some professional dancing, a chance to see some previous stars of the show, a quiz, a nice lunch and a tour (although brief) around parts of the Ö÷²¥´óÐã Centre it was DANCE TIME!! 2 hours (in the freezing cold) Cha Cha Cha-ing for all we were worth, just hoping that our efforts (however dismal) don't end up on the cutting room floor!
Having never missed an episode of Strictly; to be part of this experience is something I'll never forget. Thank you to all concerned and to some of the great people we met during this day.
    Now for the judges score...10!

I am still amazed at the fabulous day my friend and I spent at the Ö÷²¥´óÐã centre. We didn't stop doing amazing things from the minute we arrived. It was a fabulous experience, meeting Joe and Kristina was great and they signed my paddle to give to my husband when I got home, of course the side showing 10. They were so friendly, as were all the people who made the day go so smoothly.
I am looking forward to seeing how the final ident will look and everyone I know will be trying to spot me.
Thank you Ö÷²¥´óÐã for an unforgettable day and fabulous experience.
I am a true strictly fan watching it every year and my husband buys me the 'annual'. I am loving the weekly quiz.
Keep up the fantastic work. But please do think about bringing back the dance off and giving the judges final say.

Breaking news! The piece on the Strictly Experience is due to go out on THIS FRIDAY's "ITT" - the 19th of November. Cheers

I would like to complain about the terrible remarks made by Scott during the clips at the end of It takes two. Where he saud he is blind, as a partner of a registered blind person I found this highly offensive. Has he ever spent a day blindfolded? I am surprised that the Ö÷²¥´óÐã did not remove this clip!!

  • Comment number 30.

I don't think this will be the xmas idiot

  • Comment number 31.

Still in a state of happiness after the Strictly Get Dancing experience, dancing round the donut! Please can anyone let me know the name of the track we cha cha cha'd to? Thank you to the Ö÷²¥´óÐã and all involved, truly a special experience to remember.

HELP!!! Please can someone tell me how to get "The Making of" the Ident recorded onto disc from the clip that is on the Strictly Website (or any other way of getting it recorded)

I think that clip was also shown at the end of It Takes 2 but was cut off at the end when I recorded it from TV!

I would very much like to be able to get it to watch on "slow motion" !!! as it goes too fast to be able to spot my sister and I.

    THANK YOU in anticipation

I took part in the making of the ident on 7 November, which was a brilliant day, if somewhat exhausting rehearsing for 2 hours outside in the cold. However, I'm disappointed to see that the photos taking during the day have been taken off the gallery. Isn't this a bit premature?

Would someone please arrange to have them reinstated.
