It's official. The new presenter for Ö÷²¥´óÐã Two's Strictly Come Dancing - It Takes Two show is... *drum roll*

Zoe Ball!

Zoe Ball

That's right, the 2005 Strictly contestant and self confessed dancing fanatic is said to be "literally beyond elation! .... I'm giddy with glee and I may even have slipped momentarily into a celebratory Cha Cha Cha, although technically not a very good one!"

Zoe Ball takes to the dancefloor on Strictly Come Dancing back in 2005

Zoe added that "physically and metaphorically I may have trouble fitting my huge feet into Claudia's tiny wee shoes, she is one fabulous lady but I will do my best to bring all the ups and downs and laughter and tears behind the nation's favourite show to the fans."

Executive producer of Strictly Come Dancing, Moira Ross, said "Zoe is a fantastic presenter and I'm delighted that she is joining It Takes Two. With her first-hand experience of the series, she's the perfect person to give viewers all the insider knowledge, gossip and news from this year's show."

It Takes Two returns in the Autumn, weekdays on Ö÷²¥´óÐã Two, for viewers eager to get their Strictly fix.

Thrilled to hear that Zoe Ball is to take over as presenter of It Takes Two from Claudia. Having been an extremely good contestant herself on Strictly Come Dancing it's an inspired choice, you really couldn't have picked anybody better to take over from Claudia. We wish Zoe every success for the future.

  • Comment number 2.

BCC, good choice in having Zoe Ball presenting ITT for Claudia. I wish Zoe every success for the Series.

  • Comment number 3.

I have nothing against Zoe but Claudia encapsulated Strictly for me with her madcap enthusiasm. Still good luck to Zoe - hopefully she can put her own stamp on things.

  • Comment number 4.

I will miss Claudia and her fringe, but Zoe was a brilliant host on the 2011 tour, putting the contestants at their ease, and I am really pleased she's been given this role.

  • Comment number 5.

Will really miss Claudia but glad that Zoe's been chosen to replace her.
Zoe's a great girl and will do a great job!

  • Comment number 6.

Will miss Claudia and Len's dancing "lessons" - they always made me laugh. Good replacement in Zoe Ball though, she will make the programme her own. Looking forward to it already.

  • Comment number 7.

Zoe, don't try to be 'normal' - Claudia was as mad as a hatter - which made watching ITT good fun (and side-splittingly funny on occasions).

  • Comment number 8.

Has Claudia finished ITT for this year or forever, will really miss her.

  • Comment number 9.

Great choice for It Takes Two, Zoe will be fantastic, loved Claudia, but looking forward to start of new ITT, good luck Zoe

  • Comment number 10.

Brilliant choice - like listening to her on Radio 2 weekdays too

  • Comment number 11.

Glad to hear Zoe has been chosen. So sorry that Claudia isnt doing the program.......

  • Comment number 12.

So disappointed that Claudia isnt doing It Takes 2, she made the programme what it is. Sorry but I find Zoe rather patronising, surely someone better could have been found. Please assure me its temporary.

  • Comment number 13.

Im so sorry that Claudia will not be doing it takes 2 she was so good she made me laugh i will miss her.

  • Comment number 14.

Welcome to Zoe. An excellent choice to replace Claudia, who will still be with us for the results show. :-D

  • Comment number 15.

Sad Claudia had to give up 'It Takes Two' - after she recently had baby 'Arthur' - Zoe is a great choice with both her experience on SCD and presenting both TV and Radio. Claudia was smashing, but sure Zoe will make the programme her own in no time. Good luck Zoe!

  • Comment number 16.

I will miss Claudia on It takes Two, I really enjoy her show but I think we have the next best thing with Zoe Ball, she is such a good choice as she will know what the celebrities are going through.

  • Comment number 17.

I too will really miss Claudia on the show, she had a wicked sense of humour which really appealed to me & I too will miss her partnership with Len. Zoe however is the perfect replacement, having known what the novices are going through & I really look forward to seeing her imput into the show, & wish her good luck.

  • Comment number 18.

i will really miss claudia, hope she will be back next year. Hope zoe can make it fun and entertaining.

  • Comment number 19.

its sad that claudia wont be presenting it takes Two, she will be really missed, but i'm sure zoe will do a great job, good luck zoe.

  • Comment number 20.

I will miss seeing Claudia, but am looking forward to seeing what Zoe does on the ITT sofa. I'm more worried about the set changing! I love all the chandeliers... I trust Zoe will sport some covetable footwear - a la Claudia - and will add an extra dimension thanks to her dancing experience. When does ITT start? This household is just so excited that it is all starting again.

  • Comment number 21.

Notice Claudia is not included with 'The Team' although she is helping Tessa present the Sunday result's show - why is this?

  • Comment number 22.

As Ian was Zoe's partner when she was appering on SCD would it be possible for him to have some sort of permanent role on the show? - it would be so lovely to see the two of them back together again?

  • Comment number 23.

I am really going to miss Claudia on ITT - she made that show her own, so I'm hoping that Zoe puts a new spin on it...without losing the sheer brilliance of my most favs of shows!! You've got some fabulous shoes to fill Zoe....best of luck!! :o)

    ...roll on the 30th!!!

  • Comment number 24.

Zoe ball will make a fine addition to the strickly team but I will miss Claud!

  • Comment number 25.

Claudia did a great job but I am sure that Zoe will bring a new perspective to the show and be just as good. Good Luck Zoe

  • Comment number 26.

I heard that Claudia is only going to miss ITT this year. Is that true? Even if Zoe does a good job, no one can do better than Claudia.........sorry but its true. Make sure Claudia ids back next year, and how about Karen Hardy replacing Alesha, now that does make dancing comment sense!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Susy

  • Comment number 27.

Claudia was THE VERY BEST thing about a good programme - she was a star - and sooo sad to see her go - just wont be the same without her outstandingly crazy presenting - very clever stuff though. Ö÷²¥´óÐã you had a jewel there I hope you are not going to loose her for ever?? I am sure Zoe will make it her own but not in the same league by a million miles.

  • Comment number 28.

I still cannot understand why Claudia's picture is not included with the other team members on the SCD home page - she is I understand presenting with Tess the Sunday results show which surely makes her part of the team, so where is she?

I do hope Zoe will receive a big warm welcome from everyone as she starts to present It Takes Two - sure she will do a wonderful job, she has been a presenter on tv and radio for years and did extremely well when she took part as a dancer in Strictly Come Dancing with Ian all this experience she will be bringing to It Takes Two. I'm sure she'll do a great job. Very best of luck for your first show Zoe.

  • Comment number 29.

Absolutely gutted that Claudia isn't doing ITT this year! don't get me wrong I love Zoe and I think she's great, but Claudia made the show her own. Claudia's sense of humour, the comedic looks to camera and as mentioned above the dance classes with Len were truly brilliant! Lets hope and prey she returns to ITT next year!!!

  • Comment number 30.

I think Zoe will be brilliant as the new presenter of ITT, with Zoe already been a contestant she will know what the others are going through, good luck Zoe but I'm sure you wont need it.

  • Comment number 31.

If the article I read the other day is to be believed it is unfortunately bad news for all you Claudia fans. It says she tweeted something along the lines of "No More Strictly It Takes Two - Very Sad".

Claudia on the whole did a very good job with ITT but I think it was a shrewd move from the Beeb to pick a former contestant in Zoe Ball. One thing I particularly like about this choice is that Zoe can relate to quite a bit of what the celebs are going through. She was a good dancer, she did have an occasional off day with her dancing, she got through to the final so she can understand what performing 2 judged dances in one evening will be like and even though she got to the final she struggled for popularity during the 2nd half of the competition even when she was either top or close to the top.

  • Comment number 32.

I think Zoe Ball is a great improvement on Claudia Winkleman and I hope she stays. She doesn't have the annoying/irritating habits of Claudia. Claudia Winkleman always had her hair in her eyes and it was so distracting. I gave up watching the programme in the end. Hope Zoe Ball stays as a permanent presenter on Strictly.

  • Comment number 33.

I do miss Claudia in presenting the show, but I must say that Zoe is doing a great job in presenting the show. Zoe was a contestant and knows what the celebs are going through.

  • Comment number 34.

Was really sad that Claudia decided not to host ITT this year BUT am pleasantly surprised at how good Zoe is. Really enjoyed the first show. Keep up the good work Zoe, but hope Claudia comes back next year.

  • Comment number 35.

Zoe, you're doing a great job - keep it up!

  • Comment number 36.

Was really disappointed that Claudia was not available to host this years ITT as she is the epitome of this show. However, am pleasantly surprised how well Zoe is doing, really good week so far.

Can I suggest that she has Claudia on as a guest - that would be really good fun.

Well done Zoe, keep it up.

Agree with SusieG that Claudia should return next year though, sorry Zoe.

  • Comment number 37.

I have loved ITT with Zoe this week - yes, I miss Claudia, but Zoe, you did a great job. You have shown yourself to be a Strictly Obsessive, so get full marks in my book! Can't wait for tonight's show.

  • Comment number 38.

Was Will Young wearing Audley's shoes?

  • Comment number 39.

I agree that Zoe has been good this week but ITT was an institution in it's own right, thanks to Claudia. It was her madcap comedy approach that made this show a must, even for my husband who doesn't even watch Strictly! ITT started round about the time he came home from work and he always said that having a good laugh with Claudia was the best way to unwind after a hard day. I hope she returns next year.

  • Comment number 40.

    @ 37 - Ditto PennyDropper :o)

  • Comment number 41.

Last Saturday i watched Strictly with my family and was upset to watch Nancy being totally embaressed by her pro partner Anton. He neither gave her a dance routine or support. All the other Pro dancer were giving their partners full support and respect and you can see that they are there to help their celebrity partners to really enjoy their time. Anton, he just wants to play up to the camera and leave his partner to suffer all sorts of problems which he seems to enjoy. He is a disgrace.

  • Comment number 42.

Zoe has made a great start to life on ITT. You can just see her enthusiasm. She is like a kid in a candy store and that enthusiasm is infectious. I found it interesting that Craig last night agreed with the publics decision to get rid of Edwina yet took issue with criticism that he marked Harry the same as Russell. If he thinks Harry has issues to sort out then the 6 is fair enough but in my books Russels salsa didn't really do anything for me and I would have given it a 5 at best.

  • Comment number 43.

Please tell ANITA and ROBIN they spread JOY!!

  • Comment number 44.

Missing Claudia. Tuned in to ITT just to be in her wild and wonderful company-a real natural. Able to make fun of herself - her dancing, never overpowered her guests , a real joy to watch. Not watch ITT since, sorry but love that she's presenting the results show.

  • Comment number 45.

Very disappointed that Claudia isn't presenting It Takes Two this year I look forward to watching it every year, I watched about ten mins of it last week and I had to turn it off. Hope she's presenting it next year.

  • Comment number 46.

Zoe is a bit hectic but personally i find Claudia's wide eyed" little girl who doesnt know whats going on" act very boring now. She's in showbusiness with a high profile journalist mother and cant possibly be as naive as she would like to have people believe.I think there should be a change and they should employ Lisa Tarbuck or Dawn French. it IS possible to be funny without being childish. I know it's a family show but it isnt Blue Peter.

  • Comment number 47.

On last night's show, Lulu said in training that she didn't feel elegant. No wonder, she looked a mess. For training she should wear clothing that is suitable for the dance she's going to perform. Does she imagine that Maggie Smith rehearses for Downton Abbey in jeans, a sloppy T-shirt and a baseball cap?
    Rosamund

  • Comment number 48.

Zoe is a breath of fresh air to ITT long may she continue presenting the show.

  • Comment number 49.

Oooh Lily Pickle - what a good idea about Lisa Tarbuck. She would be so much better than the very false Ms Ball. I find her uncomfortable to watch, she seems to be only interested in the mens bodies and if there is a romance - urgh!! I find Zoe Ball far to "laddish" for me.

  • Comment number 50.

Zoe doing a great job on it Takes 2! Where did she get that stunning leopard print top that she wore on tonights show??

  • Comment number 51.

Nice to see Zoe back on the tele, doing a FAB Job on It Takes Two, knows her stuff and can ease the contestents nerves as she has been there herself. Keep up the good work Zoe.

  • Comment number 52.

Zoe: You are doing a tremendous job and it makes a change from the overly self aware Claudia and the owl eyes.

  • Comment number 53.

    Zoe.
I'm have trouble following your flow on "ITT".
Your radio show is always crystal clear to my ears; but, the "ITT" appears far too fast, and not crisp and concise. Claudia was always easy on the ear.
"Calm down dear", and a tad "RP", please.

  • Comment number 54.

I am looking everywhere for the date of the final of Strictly 2011 to arrange a dinner party - when is it please?
Zoe - love you on the show

  • Comment number 55.

Last week Craig admitted he was in a good mood hence his higher than usual points awarded : this week it was pretty obvious he was not in a good mood SO someone - Pamela Stephenson maybe? - should seriously take him to task regarding his possible long-term psychological damage to Alex. Sensuality/sexuality is an intensely private matter and Alex had admitted she had difficulty portraying this in public - yes James had obviously invested a great deal of understanding and work in ensouraging and supporting Alex to give so much of herself - in public and in front of how many people? Can Craig get his head around any of the nuances inheritently involved here.
I could cry for Alex, I could cry for James - he must feel he has betrayed Alex - he DID NOT, Craig in his crassness did. Craig's constructive criticisms are extremely useful his stupidity is SERIOUSLY DANGEROUS.

  • Comment number 56.

Zoe. Following what Dr. Pamela has been saying, is it deliberate that there's been no comment about Artem and Holly?

  • Comment number 57.

Loved Claudia but Zoe even better!
Zoe and Ian's tango still the best dance ever on Strictly.
The bootom fell out of my world when Ian dropped out of strictly. By far the most artistic dancer among the professionals. I just loved watching him so delighted we at least see him briefly on Wednesdays. If only we could see him dancing again on strictly. Any chance perhaps that we could see him and Zoe dancing the tango again?

  • Comment number 58.

we suggest the judges have a celebrity to dance with for the children in need show next year and the past winners to be the judges. from Sandra and natasha bouffard

    staffordshire

  • Comment number 59.

Please keep Zoe Ball for 2012 It Takes Two - she has been brilliant. Her enthusiasm has been infectious. Even better than Claudia!

  • Comment number 60.

Count me in, yes please keep Zoe Ball for 2012 "It Takes Two".

  • Comment number 61.

The show has felt tighter & more organised apart from the Friday panellists not having a specific area of discussion so one gets talked over.

Please bring back Zoe next year. Much as Claudia was wonderful it did feel like she had been doing the show for 900 years and the change has been wonderful.

  • Comment number 62.

Please bring Claudia back next year. I have really missed her and her gentle humour. Zoe is far too laddish and suggestive.

  • Comment number 63.

Have to say I have liked Zoe - she also knows how the contestants feel and obviously loves dance, which is more than can be said for Claudia. I thought her "dancing" with Len was embarrassing, not at all funny.

So, perhaps keep Zoe, she is very lively and enthusiastic.

  • Comment number 64.

Zoe please. Claudia was okay but I think she was stale with the show and now that she does the Film Show, I think ITT is a little light.

  • Comment number 65.

    Please keep Zoe.

Couldn't watch the show previously, i would turn it off as soon as i'd seen the bit i wanted to watch. This years has been much more interesting, loved the input from Karen and Ian. Enjoyed CRH's chats about the show and why he gave this score etc.

The only thing i don't really understand is the Friday Panel, some of the guests aren't even interested in the show and are only there to promote their thing. Room for improvement there but apart from that i LOVE IT

  • Comment number 66.

Would be nice to see Zoe next year again. She seems to connect with people in a really fun and sweet way which makes it more pleasant viewing. She's a big fashion sense improvement too. Go girl!
