Strictly 2011 is set to be the best yet with a spectacular live programme from Wembley Arena in aid of Children in Need and a return to Blackpool for the grand final, broadcast in dazzling 3D.

Raising the stakes for the celebrity dancers and their professional partners, the pressure will be turned up for the Wembley extravaganza, as the couples waltz their way across the biggest ever dance floor in the programme's history, while trying to impress the biggest ever audience of around 6,500 Strictly fans - the largest in the programme's nine series - and the many millions more at home.

The Wembley extravaganza takes place midway through the series on Saturday 19th November. Tickets will be sold to the public with all proceeds going to the Ö÷²¥´óÐã Charity, Children In Need.

And in another Strictly first the final will be foxtrotting into front rooms across the country in 3D, via the Ö÷²¥´óÐã's HD Channel, bringing the magic of Blackpool's ballroom to life for fans to enjoy from the comfort of their own homes.

Viewers will see the finalists battle it out live from the Tower Ballroom, as they compete for this year's prestigious glitterball trophy and the chance to be crowned winner of Strictly Come Dancing 2011. The free-to-air broadcast of the final in 3D will be available to anyone who has access to a 3D TV set and to HD channels.

Host, Sir Bruce Forsyth, said: "I'm delighted that we will be going to Wembley for this year's Strictly. When I first got the call I thought it was to play football! I've always said our live audiences should be bigger and you can't get bigger than Wembley".

"I'm a bit doubtful of being in 3D because I've never been in 3D before. I hope my chin doesn't knock people off their sofas at home."

Moira Ross, Executive Producer, Strictly Come Dancing, said: "While many of our celebrities will be used to performing in front of big crowds as part of their day jobs, who knows how they will fare when they have to foxtrot in front of Strictly's biggest ever live audience"

Danny Cohen, Controller, Ö÷²¥´óÐã One, said: These two special moments will see the drama, excitement and tension both for our celebrities and our audience go up another level. I'm sure this year's celebrities and their partners will rise to the challenge and put on the show of their lives."

We at SCD HQ can't wait for these exciting events! Roll on autumn 2011!

I am glad that Wembley is a venue this year, it adds another dimension to the show. And it's got to be Blackpool for the final, I wondered why it has taken this long to have the final there? The pro dances will be spectacular in such a huge venues.

Yes, I wondered why it has taken this long to have the final in Blackpool. It is the home of ballroom. it is great that the last two years Strictly went to Blackpool, but it should have being for the Final.

Wembley - will be wonderful with 6,500 Strictly fans live and millions watch it at home. :)

I would love to know how to get tickets for the final at Blackpool for me and my husband. Also, if we did get tickets would we have to queue outside for ages? Neither of us can stand for long periods. Thank you.

I applied for Blackpool in August. When will I know if I have been lucky enough. I hope though, the public get a fair deal instead of having to watch all he so called celebs sat in the best seats. It is just not fair..........every year it is the same old faces sat at the front again............NOT FAIR............I need answers from someone above..............now...................

Can someone please tell me the date of the final at Blackpool? Thanks!

I agree. Blackpool has always been known as the spiritual home of dance. Actually this isn't the 1st time the SCD final has been in Blackpool. It was there for the final of series 2 where Erin was with Julian Clary, Ian was with Denise Lewis and Darren was with Jill Halfpenny and it was a cracker (with the exception of Julians samba). It was in this final that Jills perfect jive was performed and she went on to win.

It was a great final yet curiously SCD didn't return to Blackpool until that mid series show 2 years ago which will be remembered for Ali & Brians perfect Viennese Waltz at one end of the spectrum and at the other end of the spectrum there was local boy Craig Kelly's Cha Cha Cha with Flavia that drew stinging criticism from all the judges including Alesha.

Blackpool on the whole does bring out the best in the celebs and it will be interesting when the final comes around to see if the same applies again.

Quite excited about having another final at Blackpool! Jill and Darren's jive there from series 2 still (for me) is one of the best dances ever on SCD. Fantasic end to the series, every single performer who stepped on the floor threw everything they had into it, even when it came to the eliminated contestants bit.
Too early to make predictions about who will be there, but eek! Excited :D

Dianne, I think it is around the 17th of December. it is usually the last Saturday before Christmas Day.

Jill and Darren's jive there from series 2 still (for me) is one of the best dances ever on SCD. Yes, it is. it is the best jive ever on Strictly Come Dancing.
