Will miss seeing Artem dance this weekend but am really glad he is resting so will hopefully be in the mend soon. Artem is truly inspirational, not only in his dance capability but also his work ethic. Fingers crossed he is fully healed in time for Wembley!!! Best wishes for a speedy recovery Artem! Good luck to Holly and Brendan for this weekend!!! :)

Artem is a wonderfull dancer and i wish him a speedy recovery. Can anyone help me though as i think he was meant to dance in the results show with professional males and if he was not the fifth dancer how was it?

I would have liked to see Ian Waite step in, however. Some of the sheer joy of Strictly went with him when he left, and a short spot on ITT isn't enough!

Health always comes first, even on SCD. Here's hoping for a good recovery for Artem. I don't know how the fiery Brendon from New Zealand will take to the slightly laid back Holly from Australia - potentially an explosive mix. But more important is that Artem doesn't try to rush back to quickly and do no good at all for his bod.

Poor Artem! He was amazing to dance last week - no sign until he limped off. He does the most fantastic routines, is a capable and inspirational teacher, has a great work ethic and seems a genuinely nice chap. Wish him a speedy recovery.

So happy that Brendan has been kind enough to help Holly and Artem out, I'm sure Artem must be incredibly frustrated but like everyone is saying, take it easy Artem and give your body time to heal. I think most of us would agree that we'd rather wait and get you back on the show than have you out of action for the series!

Isn't Artem's back fractured? He said it was on ITT but then Zoey kept talking about a 'soft tissue injury'. They are very different - which is it? Because wouldn't that make a huge amount of difference as to whether or not he can continue?

Why is Brendan taking over and not Matt Flint? He is more like Artem, and very popular.

Because Brendan is one of the professional dancers and Matt Flint,much though I love him, is not. Also, Matt is small like Artem which was a mistake.

It was great to see Artem and Holly on ITT yesterday - It's obviously been upsetting for both of them. Artem has no option but to listen to medical advice - you obviously cannot mess about with a back problem of this nature. It's great that Artem has done the choreography for Saturday - he knows exactly what suits her and what doesn't. Hope this time of rest will do the trick and he will be back dancing very soon.

I hope Artem is better soon but having listened to him saying that he has an inflamed nerve I fear he may be out longer than just the one week. I suffered an inflamed nerve / prolapse disc in my lower back just over 2 years ago and the specialist told me it would take about 3 months to heel. It took me slightly longer than that (4 months to be exact) before I suffered a recurrence back in April last year and because I wasn't treated properly this time round by the NHS I had to go private last autumn and although I am not completely better I am definetely over the worst of it.

The fact that Artem didn't mention any disc problems does give him a bit of hope but (should Holly survive this week) I would be pleasantly suprised to see him return saturday week.

I am so sorry to Hear that Artem wont be Dancing this week but at least Holly will be in the safe Hands of Brendan and even though I would love for Artem to Be dancing again next week I would love for him to Get His Back Better Without doing any More Damage.

Hi Artem- the best position in which to rest your back is to lie on your back with your knees bent and feet flat on the floor; try lying on a duvet on the floor and not the bed and defo not the sofa. Then do the pelvic tilt and rock whilst lying in this position:trust me it will help, I am a back pain therapist. It was so good to see Holly and Artem on ITT last night, but I can't believe that he could be paralyzed if he strained his back too much!!

Yes agree that in lots of ways Brendan is actually better suited to Holly than Artem -she is really too tall for Artem and wondering if this could have contributed to Artem's injury although of course I know that he's extremely strong. Hope you are fit asap and ready to continue but not before you are ready. Take Care and hope Kara is looking after Artemxx.

I was surprised to read that rather than the 主播大秀 suggesting which professional should help Holly and Artem, it was Artem himself who asked Brendan. However it makes lots of sense for Artem to pick the person as he has to work closely with them. As the professionals all dance with each other Artem should know which current professional he can work best with. I am pleased Artem has chosen Brendan as Brendan was so unhappy at not being able to dance this Saturday.

I too wish Artem well and he will be back to full fitness soon however I also hope he will not return to dancing before he is fully recovered as doing so might cause him further harm. From ITT tonight it doesn鈥檛 seem that Artem is doing that much resting because he is demonstrating his choreography.

Maybe with two professional dancers, Holly can be less 鈥渓aid back鈥� as 2_Red_Shoes @ 9 said and she can be livelier as some of the judges wish. I however always find she dances very well; this might be because I don鈥檛 always recognise the need to sell the dance as much as the judges want..

Hi Amalric. I am not too suprised as what Artem has done (asking Brendan to help out) as Brendan had a family bereavment whilst with the unpopular Michelle (Stevens was it - a singer anyway) last year and got Ian Waite to step in for the week whilst he returned to New Zealand.

The difference here is that Artem is remaining involved by choreographing the routine in the hope of being back for Wembley. However as I said earlier an inflamed nerve takes more than a week ususally. Because my inflamed nerve / Prolapse disc wasn't treated properly initially upon it's recurrence I am still getting treatment on it and any side effects from it with a private physio who is also an SCD fan.

I saw her today and she rightly said that these sort of things tend to settle down in 3s. If it hasn't settled down in 3 days or so you will have it for at least 3 weeks and if it hasn't settled down by the 3 week mark you could be talking 3 months. I know he wants to help Holly but as we saw in their training diary on thursday if he doesn't take it easy Artem could well run the risk of making the injury worse and rather than being out for a relatively short period of time it could be a long time which would therefore end his participation in this series

Let's hope for a memorable Rumba from Holly and Brendan. Holly is one of the best dancers in SCS history and could go farther than winning the Glitterball - I wouldn't say that about many dancers. The Swan Lake number showed Holly's amazing capability. Artem is a good Russian boy who embraces ballet into his culture and Holly flowed with enthusiasm. I hope Artem gets better very soon. Holly can only do him proud by peforming a sizzling Rumba with Brendan. More to the point Holly should do herself proud - she is gold medal material. The competition is fierce but Holly can stand her ground and fight her corner. Artem dances with her as though she is a professional which is the best compliment anyone can pay their partner. MY favourite dance is the Cha Cha Cha and yours on SCD was sharp and strong. I have total faith in you. I hope the judges and public do as well.

Brendan's Rumba's in the past have seen a wide variety of marks. The better the partner the higher the score has been. The best two marks being a 36 in series 1 with Natasha and a series 5 mark of 33 with Kelly Brooke. The lowest two has been, unsurprisingly, a 13 with Fiona Phillips in series 3 and a slightly better 18 with Jo Wood in series 7. Between that are marks of, and in numerical order, 21, 22, 24, 26 and 33.

Will be interesting where Holly is placed in that spectrum. I think a 36 and even a score better than that which is the current high for Brendan in the Rumba, is on the current form of Holly perfectly attainable.
Consistently in the 30's since week 2 I think, going on what certain people on It Takes Two like Ian this year and last year Len have told us viewers, her extensions, lines, flicks (like we saw with the Jive last week) heel leads and rise-and-fall's are at the least one of the best in this years competition. Going on what I have tried to observe and feel they are very good to me anyway.

But as I always say what I know as much about dancing as I do about flying the USS Enterprise. More chance of me inventing a form of time travel than absorbing the technical aspect of dancing. I just go on my feeling in my heart.

Correction: Where I list the 5 other marks the last mark is a 33. It is actually a 32.

Just wanted to say that I hope Artem continues to improve he's had an awful week and hopefully they can get back to normal for Wembly. I supported Artem and Kara last year and agree that Artem is such an amazing dancer. It has been great of Brendan to step into the gap for as long as Holly and Artem need him to - the Rumba was a difficult dance to take over for but I'm sure with Artem supporting them everything is going to be fine. Holly seems quite relaxed about things. I am also supporting the Pasha and Chelsee and hoping that both these teams are going to do well this week.

56 - SCDFanatic - What did Kara and Artem get for their Rumba last year? I thought that they had one of the best marks ever because they did it again in the final. She wore a beautiful pink dress the first time and a white one in the final but I can't remember the scores.

I think Brendan is a much better partner for Holly than Artem who is wonderful but simply too intense. I also think that the rumba tonight would have been better if Brendan had choreographed it. I think Artem's choreography is fabulous but works best with a more slender ethereal type of dancer which Holly is not. Having said that, he did a good job with the jive last week. What are the rules on injury - if Artem is to be out another week shouldn't it become Holly and Brendan with Brendan doing the choreography? Artem is a complete start but I honestly think he should now sit this series out and come back next time refreshed.

i have spinal metal implants. my wife has long term spinal injuries. how does a dancer, a dancer, get all that treatment in ONE WEEK when we wait years! both of us have worked since 1971and still do. never had a hand out. justify a tv prog performer who turns up to DANCE/INSTRUCT with a spinal injury. My first MRI scan took six months to get. My wifes eight months. I have had THREE YEARS in hospital, yes THREE YEARS of pain. explain how Artem Chigvintsev deserves, special reatment.

I so missed Artem dancing with Holly although he did the choreography he is really such an amazing dancer I think SCD is at a loss without him. Do hope Holly gets through and thank you Brendon for an excellent job but did not seem quite the same !!!! . Hope Artem is back next week if Holly gets through. Please get fit Artem xx

Just been watching Kara and artems VTS from last year and anton comments on his bad shoulder by saying
" he's got to lift this little thing here, he gets a bad shoulder, you wanna swap how about we swap for a week then you can get a bad shoulder. bad shoulder, BAD BACK, hips will go, knees will start to creak!!"

It seemed strange watching Holly and Brendan dancing together and the three of them talking to Tess after the dance. I think if Artem is still not fit enough to carry on in next few days (and he still looked in pain on Saturday) then Brendan should take over completely from Artem and become Holly's full time partner for rest of series. Artem could take over once more, but his back could become a problem once more and they cannot keep changing partners! It would be so very sad to see Artem go, injuries happen with dancers all the time, but a back injury is particulary worrying. Holly could well reach the final where show dances are involved and lifts would be necessary of course..

I really missed the pair dancing together last night - Artem is a class act.. Word of advice to Artem in relation to his jives in future. Because I LOVED Holly and Artem's jive I was watching it again on You Tube and decided to have a look at how he choreographed his jive with Kara. I noticed that Artems braces caused problems for him when dancing with Kara and of course Holly's own braces went awry. SO NO BRACES from now on Artem. xxx

When I was watching Holly's VTs for this week, I felt soooo sorry for Artem. He kept trying to dance and help Holly dance but then remembered that he couldn't!! But hopefully he will be better in time for Wembly. He looked in pain when he met Holly after her dance. 類�

@ patmil - According to Holly's tweet a Quickstep. Not sure who with yet as this could be quite a demanding dance for someone with back problems.

Mrs. Arcanum : Chelsee's footwork was not perfect on Saturday and that is why I felt she was overmarked and a favourite with the judges. Also she receives a lot of sympathy for the hours she works. Alex works for the One Show and surely some of the others work - maybe you know more than I do? Chelsee of course has one big advantage over most of the rest - she has age on her side (I think she is the youngest) and her limbs will be more flexible. Don't get me wrong, I do think that Chelsee is a good dancer.

I actually found Len a little disconcerting on Saturday. In my opinion he undermarked Harry and Holly. They are both quite dignified and are not extrovert which probably does not suit Len.

Mrs Arcanum : I see you have kindly replied to my question re the dance that Holly will be performing next week. I am not very computer literate and this is the only time I chat on line. I have no idea how to access Twitter and when someone says the results are out on the internet (before Sunday) I wonder how they find out!! How do you find out who is dancing what so early?

@ patmil 89 - There is a site Digital Spy which is all based around TV etc which has a specific SCD forum. Can be a scary place for the novice as some threads & comments can be very harsh.

I do know what you mean about Chelsee, however she only has around 12 hours training a week due to Waterloo Road filming schedules so does very well on so little time. Last week of Waterloo Road filming this week so should Chelsee still be in after Wembley they should have plenty of time to work on the footwork.

Harry & Aliona were definitely the best dance of the night but the judges do seem to ignore his hands which I find somewhat distracting.

I wish SCD could go on forever as it brings so much happiness and joy to everyone who watches and takes part. The celebraties this year seem to be so good and putting their all into each dance, that I would hate to separate them for the final. Maybe everyone should be a winner!!!!!

Hope Artem recovers quickly. It must be confusing to Holly to swap dancers when she was only just relaxing with Artem.

As for him getting treatment quicker than others. It is a little naive to expect equality of treatment, money always oils the wheels. Big fan of NHS. I do sympathsise with anyone suffering spinal injurys, i am all to aware of the misery and pain involved.

I wasn't surprised that Anita and Robin were in the bottom two this week. Whilst the performance was good, the footwork was quite poor in places.
Obviously Anita is far better than Russel - and he is getting lots of votes - seems a bit unfair. I think people now need to start voting for the dancing first and performance second....

StrictlyDawnie - I so agree with you - it looks as if we are fast reaching the point where one of the celebs who has followed the brief of learning to dance is gong to be leaving before Russell Grant does! What a shame! Maybe we can have two glitter balls, one for the Best Dancer and one for the Best Comedy Entertainer!

@94,95 i agree with you guys 'the grant' is very good a entertaining but if he wins it would be unfair as he is not the best dancer.

Is it me or does anyone else think its unfair jasons had dance training before he came on the show as an musical theatre actor?

Realistically there are still some couples who for one reason or another have no chance of winning so Russell is not really keeping anyone's hands off the glitter ball yet!
