Week 7 - Rehearsals

Post categories:

Ö÷²¥´óÐã Strictly James | 12:25 UK time, Thursday, 10 November 2011

The competition is really heating up now, and this week's show has a slight international feel as we'll be treated to two Argentine Tangos, two American Foxtrots and a Viennese Waltz. Here is the complete list of dances:

Alex and James - Jive to 'River Deep, Mountain High' by the cast of Glee

Anita and Robin - Argentine Tango to 'Cirque de Soleil Tango' from Cirque de Soleil

Audley and Natalie - Cha Cha Cha to 'Uptight' by Stevie Wonder

Chelsee and Pasha - Foxtrot to 'Doesn't Mean Anything' by Alicia Keys

Harry and Aliona - Argentine Tango to 'Asi se Baila el Tango' by Bandongo

Holly and Brendan - Rumba to 'Leave Right Now' by Will Young

Jason and Kristina - Viennese Waltz to 'Iris' by Goo Goo Dolls

Robbie and Ola - American Smooth to 'Sway' by Pussycat Dolls

Russell and Flavia - American Smooth to 'I Am What I Am' by John Barrowman

As ever, we have some EXCLUSIVE footage of our nine couples in action - see how Holly and Brendan are fairing together as a couple, and will Chelsee get dizzy on the dancefloor after all that spinning with Pasha?

come on team hali u rok!!!!!!

Iam looking forward to this weeks dancing but am a little suprised at the inclusion of the Argentine Tango in this weeks show as that tends to be saved until the semis.

I am waiting to see Holly and Brendan dance. Yes, I know it is for a week depending on Artem's recovery. I don't know why I am making such a fuss about it. I am not a big fan of either, it is more to see whether Holly has the chemistry with different partner. And after what Brendan has gone through in this series, he need not wait for the next series. All the best to them

This is very rare in SCD, where a pro dancer is given another chance. I remember Brendan returning to New Zealand for a week for a family issue.

    I will certainly keeeeeeeeeeep watching.

can't wait to see Brendan with Holly - but still want Artem back as soon as he is able

  • Comment number 5.

Jason, Holly, Harry and Chelsee are all looking good and have great song choices too ☺☺

I'm a bit worried about Robbie- didn't he look floppy?!

  • Comment number 7.

    Hi all,

Just got in and I'm having a look at the music and dance choices this week and my views early doors are.

Anita and Robin have hit it just right this time they have a passionate dance with a great music choice and Anita and Robin have the passion and the drive to carry this dance no problem. 2nd Argentine Tango Harry and Aliona bit of a worry here with Aliona totally spoiling the cherography but I think they should fare okay.

Holly and Brendan speedy recovery to Artem but the good news is Artem has come up with the chereography to this Rumba and it should work out okay trouble is Rumba is not really Brendan's strong suit but he has should be able to deliver.

Robbie and Ola I'm so pleased they have an American Smooth and after that depressing Waltz last week where Robbie didn't smile once it will be great to see a smile on his face this week hopefully with a wild eneregtic routine.

Chelsee and Pasha looking good as well with a Foxtrot but I'm really not impressed with the music choice it could have been danced to a swing track but that's just me Mr Particular.

Big worries this week are Russell and Flavia another great dance but another camp routine and as this routine is being performed to a song based on the king of camp John Barrowman it will be more of the same this week carry on camping not being on a downer about Russell but the 9 remaining are really upping their game and Russell is at the same level as he was last week.

Audley and Natalie they should have went last week but a Cha Cha and Audley is not exactly good in Latin sticks out like a sore thumb early doors he's my pick for exit stage left this weekend.

Also Jason and Kristina now we have them doing a Vieneese Waltz good music choice and great dance but the question is Jason is going forwards and then back again he's great at the ballroom but not so great at the Latin he's doing well but needs to get both dance styles on par.

Alex and James now the jive is a fast and furious dance and Alex is pretty eneregtic dance and I am really looking forward to seeing this routine on Saturday.

So early doors my top picks are.

    Anita and Robin
    Chelsee and Pasha
Robbie and Ola(Because I want to see his fun side come out this week)
Harry and Aliona(As long as there is no messing about which gets on Len's wick)
Jason and Kristina(Will get his mojo back but he needs to perfect both styles of dance)
Holly and Brendan(Good luck to them gracious of Brendan to step in for the injured Artem and they should do weel speedy recovery to Artem)

    Worries this week.

Russell and Flavia(Same old camp routine, different week, change the record)
Audley and Natalie(I believe it's his time to go this week and he has a Cha Cha will stick out like a bad migrane in my opinion)

    Keeeeep Dancing

Easy enough dances for some and potential disasters for others. Alex can surely manage a Jive with the strength she has built up. Chelsee should have no bother and I'd hope Anita will look brilliant. Maybe Jason can get his score back up with a safe Vienese Waltz. I cannot imagine Robbie doing a convincing American Smooth no matter how much I try. He looks like he has a rod stuck up his back half the time and hangs his hands like hankies on a stick. Lacks in sway as well. Russell will do as he pleases no doubt. Audley doing a Cha Cha Cha? Recipe for disaster. He doesn't have the snap hips for that, but I'd be happy for him to prove me wrong. God alone what will happen with Holly, but I wish her the best. Harry could stand and scratch his nose throughout the dance and will no doubt get high scores from the judges. I'll have a bucket at the ready for Bruno's vomit inducing sleezy remarks and Alesha's drivel.
Audley looks like he would need a surge in public votes to survive this week.

  • Comment number 10.

I have to disagree with you 2 red shoes about Robbie because this week in all honesty I won't be going on dance content or lack of it well a bit of dance content but I will be going on personality as well with Robbie because last week's effort a Waltz it did have emotion but all the wrong emotion his sad face it might have been telling a story but that is the sort of story that belongs on a doom and gloom episode of Eastenders.

So in all honesty I want to see Robbie back with a happy smile on his face this time though not impressed with Sway for a music choice I would associate that more with a tango not an American Smooth.

Personally the jury is still out on Holly and Brendan for this week but thanks to Artem's chereography and being with them in training to get the routine right all week might just be enough to get them over the line.

Russell now I know he's the fun factor in Strictly but I look at him compared with the rest of the couples who are upping their game and frankly he is stuck on the same level granted he's not from the Ann Widdecombe school of calamity dancing but his camp dance routines are getting past their best but for some reason when you watch him dance well attempt to dance and enjoying himself doing it it makes you like him that you want him to be safe for another week.

Audley has to be taxi home this week and that Cha Cha will do nothing for him he is another guy who's on the same level not upping his game at all and as you said 2 red shoes it will take a mssive surge in public votes to keep him in this week.

    Keeeeeep Dancing

Come on team HALI.......think their argentine tango looks awesome and the sneaky preview of their lifts on ITT tonight look fab-u-lous darlings.

To all the doubters above - I think Harry has been really trying hard at mastering the dancing techniques over the weeks and although I think he is absolutey the hottest and sexiest male about at the moment do not agree that he is being scored on his looks etc, he is showing real progress and dance ability and i believe has truly deservced all the marks to date if not higher on some weeks.

Come on team HALi - this is your week to shine. x- x-x

Chelsee and Pasha's foxtrot is looking great and she's really looking forward to dancing it - Looks as if they will now start to get much more rehearsal time as Waterloo Road is about to have half-term - They are such a well connected team and they seem to improve week on week - hoping that they may get their first 10 on Saturday which will help Chelsee's confidence even more. Come on C&P we know you can do it!!!!!

  • Comment number 13.

Yes, agree, I think Audley's for the chop this week. He's been in the bottom two for 3 weeks running and this dance wont suit. Think Russell will be in for a couple more weeks, b4 we're into the nitty gritty.
Really warming to Alex, she improves every week- what its all about and I thought their jive looked gr8 fun :)
