Zaleha lives in Bristol with her husband and two daughters, aged 22 and 11. Her day comprises of looking after the children, household chores and she adores cooking and baking for the family.

Zaleha grew up in Malaysia and was taught to cook traditional Malaysian dishes by her mother from a young age. However, after her degree she went on a brief work attachment to Japan, it was here she met her husband whose job took them both all over the world. Having lived in Korea, the Middle East and Australia, she considers herself to be a very international cook.

Her parents once owned a restaurant where she used to help them cash up at the end of the day. Zaleha would always seek advice from her mum and as much as she has perfected her rendang recipe, Zaleha’s husband still says her mother’s is unbeatable.

One of her greatest ambitions in life is to teach people how to cook. She enjoys having friends over and imparting her cooking knowledge whilst having a good catch up.
