Alex grew up in North London with her Portuguese parents and always remembers food being prepared in the kitchen. She started helping out from as little as five years old and spent summer holidays in Portugal on her auntie's self-sufficient farm. Still living in London, she shares a flat with two friends who she cooks for from time to time.

Alex has only come to realise in the last five years that food “is the love of my life,” previously having taken it for granted. She believes it’s the best gift a parent can give to a child. Having lacked confidence in the past, but now hitting a milestone at 40, she believes it’s her time to follow her true passion.

Keen to show off her heritage, Alex’s cooking is influenced by her Portuguese background. Alex always has a cookbook on her bedside table and enjoys cooking with local ingredients.

In her spare time she can be found at home trying new recipes.
