Krystal is a cocky 16-year-old. All swagger, sass and a foul mouth, most of Pagford sees her as a pain in the backside.

Unbeknown to most, Krystal is in fact incredibly brave - the sole carer of her heroin addict mum, , and her four-year-old brother, Robbie. Her life is beset with dangers; the threat of local drug dealer Obbo and her mum being too out of it to look after Robbie. Krystal is constantly having to stay one step ahead of the visiting social workers in order to keep Robbie with her.

Tess is her guidance counsellor at school, whom Krystal secretly loves. Alongside , Tess is the other grown up whom Krystal has come to depend on. If she had the opportunities that other kids have, she’d be unstoppable but as it is, her life is viciously circumscribed.

Abigail is currently in sixth form at the Harrodian School. She has previously appeared in theatre productions, including the UK tours of Scrooge and Cat On A Hot Tin Roof at His Majesty’s Theatre, Aberdeen, and in student productions including The Queen Must Die and Let It Fall. In 2013, she performed at the Edinburgh Festival in Snap.
