Pre-show reactions for Wembley Arena

Ö÷²¥´óÐã Strictly Nora | 14:26 UK time, Friday, 18 November 2011

It's Wembley weekend, and our celebrities have the added pressure of not only a new routine but performing on the show's biggest dance floor and in front of the show's largest audience. So who has got the Wembley wobbles and who is ballroom bothered? This week we took a more scientific approach to testing our couples confidence, using 'Nikki's Nerve O' Meter'. Find out where our couples feature on the scale of Strictly stress...

Good Luck to all the teams ♥♥
Jason, Chelsee, Harry and Holly are safe; Anita, Alex, Robbie and Russell are not so safe.

Evening ojtocs - looks like just you and me for the moment. although logically I think you've got them in about the right order, nobody is safe if the GBP don't vote for them - as seen last week, and we have to rely on the judges to mark them fairly - not weight in favour of their "favourites". I think it's going to be very interesting ....

  • Comment number 3.

Hi Sealjay. Only a guess. The Wembley factor might change the voting dynamics too ☺☺

  • Comment number 4.

They're recycling cossies. The irrelevant tat stapled to Pasha's costume looks just like the irrelevant tat Robbie had stapled to his trousers the night of the thrust. Hope it's not a bad omen.

  • Comment number 5.

I must say I have my doubts about Wembley being a suitable venue. Blackpool is amazing and it's a proper ballroom, but Wembley. Hmmmm - don't know.

  • Comment number 6.

Hello. Hope it goes well at webley for Alex and James, Holly and Artem or breden

  • Comment number 7.

Wembley , big floor to fill, Dfer expecting major faffing and big props so the celebs won't actually have to dance around it all.

can i say i don,t like some of the song choices for tomorrow night. i cant believe there using jill halfpennys jive music for a salsa that is a big no no. there is so many music choices out there.it seems to me there reusing old music.the only one i liked was jason.s song.

Seen a clip of wembley on ITT tonight looks like the show is going to reflect what it is like on the SCD. Like the raised section in the middle of the floor that was a great idea on the tour in 2011. Hope Craig has a hand in choreographing the show tomorrow.

Looking forward to seeing everyone but especially the pro dancers - needing an Anton and Erin fix.

Halle299... It's not Jill's music it's Elton John's music and it's no more unsuitable than any of the other songs. If they have to do Latin dances to British songs this is the inevitable result!

    Hi all,

Just got in from work and had a look at the music and dance choices for some couples plain sailing and the bottom two couples they don't have a prayer.

Top 3 couples early doors are Chelsee and Pasha, Harry and Aliona and Jason and Kristina they have strong music choices and great dances they will come out on top one doubt with Jason is if doesn't raise his game with this jive he could find himself in trouble.

Russell and Flavia hate to say it our favourite showstoppers are safe this week with that music and dance choice combined with Russell's camp routines how could they possibly loose.

Not impressed with Holly and Brendan's music choice for their quickstep could have done with a big band music choice and as Artem is out again this week the jury is out on this one.

Robbie and Ola have a great music and dance choice and a Salsa we might see Robbie's flirtitious side come out.

For me the bottom two is a no brainer for me this week Anita and Robin and Alex and James both have rubbish music choices though Alex and James have a tango if they can make the dance routine work with that music choice then they might just scrape through.

But for me Wembley is going to be Anita's swan song because a Samba danced to Come On Eileen there is no way that routine can work no way the only way that routine can work is if Anita really gives it everything in the hips and Robin goes bare chested in front of 6000 people at Wembley using the Flesh For Votes card and they throw a load of sex appeal at it to cover up the awful song choice.

But in my opinion and I hate to say it because Team Dobbin are my favourite partnership but with that music and dance choice Team Dobbin are in serious trouble and I hate to say it but Anita should have the taxi on standby unless a major miracle happens.

  • Comment number 12.

well i see where your coming from ojtocs but i still think there is loads of better songs out there they could of used. and i do know it is elton john,s song but everyone remembers it in strictly as jills jive.

saw a huge canon in Vincent's backstage video clip on ITT tonight, is that perhaps for Russel's "grand entrance"? :P

Yes - "Brendan and Holly" - does that really mean that we actually get to see one more routine with this fantastic team? I heard something about Artem wanting to dance this weekend but couldn't give a def answer until tomorrow. I wish him a full recovery I really do, but please for Holly's sake give her & Brendan one more chance... If the comments from the judges, Tess & Brucie et al they have so much better chemistry than Hartem ever had. They really showed how fun they had dancing together! Besides, after being there for Holly all week for two weeks, training and encouraging and helping her through the choreography he deserves to get to dance tomorrow too! :)

Best of luck to our couples but above all to Team Hali and Team Brolly! :) Yay, I can't wait!! :)

Can someone please explain why there is this fascination to have Anita and Robin having a dance off with either Chelsee and Pasha or Harry and Aliona.

Because 1 week Anita and Robindid exactly the same dance as Harry and Aliona which was an Argentine Tango and the week before that Anita and Robin danced the same dance as Chelsee and Pasha and now this week they are dancing the same dance as Chelsee and Pasha again a Samba.

And in all honesty it comes down to music choice and for me there is only one clear winner in the battle of the sambas this week and that's Chelsee and Pasha.

  • Comment number 15.

Now that I have discuss that one my analysis this week and I do hope my going home choice aces it if so I will ammend accordingly.

    Guranteed Saves

    Harry and Aliona
    Chelsee and Pasha
    Holly and Brendan

    Wildcard Save
Russell and Flavia( That music choice+ that dance+6000 people in Wembley= a win win for Team Grant and Cacace)

    Saves

    Robbie and Ola
    Jason and Kristina

    Bottom Two

    Alex and James
    Anita and Robin

    Going Ö÷²¥´óÐã

And it's with regret I say Anita and Robin but that music choice and dance it just doesn't go together for me however I do keep updated on what is going on in the blog throughut the evening and if they just manage to ace it and it would want to be one hell of a miricale to get them over the line then my going home choice will be Alex and James.

  • Comment number 16.

I noticed on ITT tonight that there is a huge sparkly cannon backstage. I wonder who will be making an entrance in that...????? No prizes for guessing the right answer

  • Comment number 17.

So to sum up as I'm at work tomorrow and won't be able to comment and I will check in with you all and join the Wembley party in sprit as I will be tired and will watch it later on Sky Plus I'll be with you all in sprit.

    So to sum up.

The standouts for me are Chelsee and Pasha 's Samba they have a great music choice and it should have plenty of sprak and remind you of Hot Night In Rio, Jason and Kristina I'm expecting great things with this Jive let's hope he continues to go forwards in his journey or this road is going to get bumpy.

What can I say about Russell Grant the crowd at Wembley will get their money's worth.

Alex and James if they throw passion and sex appeal into an awful music choice then they might scrape through.

Team Dobbin are in serious trouble with their routine a Samba and the music choice Come On Eileen that does not make me think of Hot Nights In Rio that makes me think more cold day on Salthill beach Galway trouble is they are my favourite partnership and I would like to be proven wrong and hope they ace it but I don't hold out much hope unless a major miricale and if it does and they do ace this routine I will eat my words.

So goodnight and enjoy the Wembley party I'll circulate through the live show blog to keep myself updated.

    And Keeeeeeeeep Dancing

  • Comment number 18.

But the question if I'm proven wrong about Team Dobbin and they escape the bottom two along with Russell and Flavia which couple will it be at the expense off.

    Question to ponder
    Goodnight all
    Keeeeeeep Dancing

well i see where your coming from ojtocs but i still think there is loads of better songs out there they could of used. and i do know it is elton john,s song but everyone remembers it in strictly as jills jive.

They can't use I'm still Standing, that belongs to Jill and Darren's Jive. Every time I hear that song Jill and Darren's Jive come into my head.
This is the second song this year that Strictly used a song which was used before on Strictly.

I noticed on ITT tonight that there is a huge sparkly cannon backstage. I wonder who will be making an entrance in that...????? No prizes for guessing the right answer. I noticed that as well and only one person came to mind and I think we are thinking the same person, emasl. Who else would do it?

  • Comment number 20.

Lostchacha. Err... they can use an Elton John song if they want to... it doesn't belong to anyone... except Elton John! Harry's got a young fanbase so I doubt very much they watched Jill H or even know who she is. Seven years is a long time if you're a young'un (which sadly I'm not)!

  • Comment number 21.

Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear... we're firmly back in the land of totally inappropriate music again. Are the Ö÷²¥´óÐã, the professionals or anyone else listening? Do they seriously want to sacrifice the dancers' chances of delivering a decent dance just for the sake of 'entertainment' which it isn't?

Relax - it's simply not tango music, not the right feel, not the right rythmn and, if they're copying the original, far too fast.

Come on Eileen - for a samba... it's not remotely latin american, again wrong rythmn and feel and the tempo isn't even consistent.

Spice up your life - well closer to a latin feel for the Samba... might just work

I'm still standing - for a Salsa? Come on... wrong tempo, wrong rythmic accents, and not at all latin.

Don't know Valarie, but much as I like Amy Winehouse I'm not sure a classic dance like the quickstep works with any modern pop music.

The two jives will probably work OK but again is Let me Entertain You really a samba song? It's a bit closer than some to the right tempo, but again has no latin feel about it.

So.. in total all but three or possibly four couples are again going to be knobbled by the insane music choices foisted on them. I say again, who's in charge? Where's the explanation? What have you got against real latin american and tango music?

  • Comment number 22.

Here's another question. Really enjoyed last night's Children In Need SCD segment with the female newsreaders. If we want sexy on SCD I'd say bring on any of them - are they being lined up for the next series? It was also good to see Ian Waite on the dance floor again. Just sorry we didn't get to see them dance individually... perhaps with a short viewer vote - at a higher cost than usual to generate more income for CiN - to determine the winner.

And why isn't their segment mentioned on the main SCD web pages with an iPlayer link to their performance?

  • Comment number 23.

Didn't Alesha dance the quickstep to Valleri?

  • Comment number 24.

    Hi All,
dont rate the music tonight but hope all goes well, good luck to everyone

  • Comment number 25.

Still waiting for somebody to tell me what is special about Wembley? Intimate, glamourous venue: NO. Known for ballroom dancing: NO Atmospheric: NO Good use of Ö÷²¥´óÐã resources: NO. And now we have three different threads on hear all trying desperately to hype Wembley. It is't working.

  • Comment number 26.

T&G... The proceeds from the Wembley ticket sales go to CIN so it's all for a good cause ☺☺

  • Comment number 27.

I would have paid a bigger donation for them to keep it in the studio where it usually is. And who has paid all the extra costs of taking everything to Wembley - presumably its come out of the charity budget

  • Comment number 28.

Alex and James were overmarked!!! Len said lats week, that Harry's argentine tango, lacked passion!!!!!! Where on earth Alex had passion in her tango!!!!! to deserve some many 9!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Rubish Rubish!!!!!!!

  • Comment number 29.

lol! like this - very funny
