Post categories:

Ö÷²¥´óÐã Strictly Suzy | 16:00 UK time, Thursday, 3 November 2011

Six weeks down, six to go... The competition is really starting to heat up now that our celebrities have firmly found their dancing shoes. This weekend we will see a range of dance styles including the Charleston and Jive, and from checking out our couples in rehearsals it's safe to say we are in for a good show!

Will Robbie and Ola include anymore hip thrusts in their routine this week? And will Russell be wearing that waistcoat? All will be revealed on Saturday 5th November at 6.25pm on Ö÷²¥´óÐã One, until then, take a look at how our couples have been getting on in training:

I watched three times just to see C&P in action. That's going to be an amazing charleston!!!

    Hi all,

Now the walking disaster that was Nancy Del'lolio has exited stage left we have a proper competition and for once I find it very hard to call who will be in the bottom two this week.

Dances that stand out for me early doors are, Anita and Robin they have a brilliant routine a Charleston and a great lively song to dance it to with I've Got Rhthhym and I really want to see Anita capatilise on her winning form so far.

Also Chelsee and Pasha poor Chelsee needs a bit of a confidence boost after last week and what a way to get it a Charleston not to hot about the song choice they could have done with something a bit more big band for me but not distracting away from the fact that it will be a great routine and it is one of my standouts this week.

Also Alex and James have a fantastic quickstep and another couple I want to see capatilise on winning form and also Audley and Natalie after last week's disastorus jive and being in the bottom two Audley's ballroom impresses and this Vienesse Waltz should definitley impress.

Holly and Artem now a jive like the sound of it both are athletic and fast on their feet and of course Artem will be bare chested so no surprise there then but on the whole should keep the winning formula going but deep down I am still missing something with these two and that's chemistry.

And after last week and thrustgate with Robbie he could do with settling down a bit and a waltz should just tame him and hopefully raise a smile to hard to please CRH's face.

Worries for me this week are Russell and Flavia as stated it's not him who's past his sell by date it's his routines that are past their sell by date and yes I have called it wrong it's a Paso to a good music choice Carmen but in my opinion he will camp it up again.

Harry and Aliona are the major concerns for me this week as they have the dance of death the Samba and it depends on Aliona's chereography but it is a major concern also Lulu and Brendan as well because a Tango to Kiss by Prince frankly with that music choice does nothing for me.

Also Jason and Kristina as well Rumba bit of a worry for me because Jason in my opinion is more used to the fast and furious dances the elctric routines like his Quickstep to Bewitched and in all honesty I have major doubts about this rumba.

Early doors candidates for the bottom two just going on the dance and music choices.

    Lulu and Brendan
    Russell and Flavia

Agree with you about Lulu and Brendan, he said he was worried on TT last night too. Think voters will keep Russell in a bit longer. Alex and James didn't look great to me in rehearsal either.
Artem is a fantastic choreographer but they don't seem to have gelled. He seems awfully difficult to please and she's too tall for him. Better her with Robin, whose very warm and would've encouraged her. I know he has a MASSIVE fan base, but I find him really cold.
Love Kristina's choreography too, that Bewitched routine my favourite so far of the series. So glad she's got a decent partner.

Thankgod for Kristina's choreography this yr , she is a breath of fresh air . Fantastic pro !!

This is where I really look to Ian Waite on ITT for help (!), but going through each one in turn it looks like a reet hotch-potch of training like for me.

Chelsee, Jason, Harry and Holly look particularly strong in lines and Robbie looks like he has promise but Lulu looks like she is struggling to take up hold and keep it as her right arm looks slack to me, the fact he is alone tells me Audley looks for all the world like he is struggling to also get fluidity in his posture movement, though he looks like he is trying to get the rise-and-fall correct, and I don't know if they are or not but Anita and Alex seem to be simply going through the steps and I like the footwork of Russell.

  • Comment number 6.

    Hi all,

I don't get to see the rehearsal footage during the week so I go on what I read here on the blogs.

And judging by what I've read here some couples should be worried but I'm still looking forward to Chelsee and Pasha and Anita and Robin's Charleston's and I would say two seperate dances to suit both couples fun, electric and fast.

As for Holly and Artem they could be in trouble if chemistry is still a problem because Jennifer Greay star of the original Dirty Dancing is on the judges panel this week and if it is one thing that she will be looking out for is pure chemistry between the couples going on the fact she had fantastic chemistry with her screen partner on the film the late Patrick Swayze.

But as for Anita and Alex going through the steps just in their respective dances don't just judge on rehearsals because they have two great dance partners in Robin and James who in my opinion will make sure the whole thing comes together on Saturday night.

Also in relation to Russell yes the voters may keep him in I hope they do he is brings the fun factor to the competition.

But there are only so many of the same camp routines you can watch before you grow tired of them and also if what I have been reading in the papers this week is anything to go by he might not have any choice but to bow out surgery on his knee.

  • Comment number 8.

    So early doors for me.

Standout performances that I'm looking forward to seeing are Chelsee and Pasha, Anita and Robin, Alex and James even though some did say she was struggling she has a great quickstep and James has proven he can bring it together also Holly and Artem I like jive and it should be fast and furious but chemistry could be a problem.

Potential dangers this week are Audley and Natalie in two minds about this if his posture and timing let him down he could be in trouble.

Also Jason and Kristina in the rumba I can't really see Jason as the dominant lover he was Scott Robinson in Neighbours and he really didn't have any passionate scenes in Neighbours with Kylie and I think he's going to find it difficult to find the passion in this one.

And also Lulu and Brendan serious danger tango to Prince's kiss for a start the music choice is rubbish and also Lulu has proven not to be so good with her timing issues as well.

Will explain more in my pre show reactions.

And my gyess Russell is the fun factor in this competition the issues regarding his knee would be my major concern but he is popular with the voters and I have to admit the competitiin wouldn't be the same without Russell Grant in it.

  • Comment number 10.

Is it in the stars that Russell will have recovered from his knee op?
Or like previous celebs appealing to viewers for the sympathy vote.
Sorry but watching him is not my idea of fun or enteratinment. But that is only my opinion. Everyone to their own taste.

  • Comment number 11.

I think Lulu, Alex and Audley will struggle this week as they are not very good. Not their fault but someone has to go each week, that the name of the game. Listened to James, Flavia & Anton on Chris Evans this morning and got the impression that James does not think Lulu is that good. Robbie will go one of these weeks also I think and I am a bit sick and tired of everyone going on about his hair. Get it cut Robbie, it is old fashioned now and he was not that good a footballer, otherwise at UNITED, the best team ever, would not have got rid of him. He is a nice guy though. I think Artem sometimes looks a bit bored with Holly, but my guess is that he is frightend of enjoying himself with Holly because of Cara giving him stick!!!!!!! Kristina or Aliona to win for me.

  • Comment number 12.

SUSIEG, yes agree with your "danger zone" but think final two will be Chelsee or Harry.
There's something about Jason which is off-putting although Kristina's choreography is dazzling, as is Pasha's.
Aretem won't win two years in a row, besides Kara was a much better dancer.

    Re: mattzings @ 12.

I have noticed other than Lily Kopylova who finished 2nd the year after her win, nobody who has won it who has appeared in the next series has done well. Brendan, who was the inagural winner, was 5th eliminated in week 5 in the second series. Darren Bennett who was the second winner went out in series 3 in week 3. Karren Hardy who won in series 4 was out in series 5 in the very first week. In series 5 the winner was Matthew Cutler who in series 6 went out in week 12 and finished 5th best pro. Ola, who won series 7 was ousted in week 2 of series 8.

Camila (Dallerup) of course won series 6 but would leave to retire from dancing.

  • Comment number 14.

its ALWAYS TO A JOY TO SEE ANITA DANCE!! i really hope they do well and HOPE PEOPLE VOTE FOR THEM.

  • Comment number 15.

I do enjoy the fun and entertainment element of watching Russell and of course he stays in as long as viewers carry on voting for him - but found his 'dance' last Saturday not very funny at all - with Russell astride the bull and wearing thick glasses. Again the problem is the props I feel - if Russell had just learnt the dance and performed it without props it would have been much better. To me the fact that Audley has been in bottom two so often although he's worked hard and learnt all the dances and Russell hasn't been there once just doesn't seem right. Looking at the dancers that remain in the competition - I do hope although he's been great fun that it will be time for Russell to leave this Saturday's show. I think this will mean Russell will be able to join in the Strictly tour which would be great.

  • Comment number 16.

Am I the only person who is overwelmed with nausea when the cameraman does his fast 360 degree pan around the dancers on the Saturday night show? Is this really necessary? Marks are earned on the footwork not 'clever' photography. Can we, the viewers, be allowed to see what the judges do?
