Kate
Humble helps viewers vote in Restoration final
Across
the UK thousands of historic buildings are in danger of being lost
to the nation forever.
But
now viewers can make their mark on history and decide which building
should be restored when presenter Griff Rhys Jones announces the
ultimate winner of Restoration in a magnificent final, live from
the Tower of London, on Sunday 14 September at 9.00pm on Ö÷²¥´óÐã TWO.
Griff illustrates
the beauty and history of the buildings, while Kate Humble encourages
viewers to vote and donate to The Restoration Fund.
Kate
says: "I am delighted to be involved in the Restoration final.
It's such a fascinating series that empowers people to make a difference
with a real result at the end for everyone to enjoy.
"Please
get on the phones and vote for the building that you would most
like to see restored."
Throughout
the series Griff and Restoration's ruin detectives, Marianne Suhr
and Ptolemy Dean, have travelled across the UK and uncovered 30
fascinating buildings, each with an amazing past and an uncertain
future.
At
the end of each programme viewers voted for their favourite to go
through to the final and so far they've voted for Victoria Baths,
Greyfriars Tower, Mavisbank, Poltimore House, Lissan House, Bethesda
Chapel, Kinloch Castle and Wentworth Castle - and there are still
another two buildings to be announced.
During
the final, Griff, Marianne and Ptolemy will revisit each of the
final ten buildings, reminding viewers of their individual charm
and history and their unique architectural value.
On
hand to offer an impassioned plea for help, the celebrity advocates
will champion their cause and petition for vital votes.
Liz
Forgan from the Heritage Lottery Fund and Simon Thurley from English
Heritage will be joining Griff to discuss the future of Britain's
buildings at risk
Throughout
the evening viewers can cast their vote for the building they would
like to see restored.
Then
at the end of the evening Griff will announce the winner –
and viewers will find out which is the one building Britain has
decided it cannot live without.

votes cast in previous shows will not be carried forward so each
building starts with 0 votes in the run up to the final.
This
is to help ensure the competition is as fair as possible to each
of the ten finalists.
