New to BH? Watch out, this post contains spoilers from series one...

Ìý

Who would be a scriptwriter, eh?Ìý

Ìý

Countless hours locked away with nothing but a laptop for company... the clickety-click of keys echoing in your ears as you write thousands upon thousands of words... only to delete them and write them again. ÌýAnd again. And probably again after that.Ìý Then, after checking your facts and dodging the perils of writers block, you finally submit it to your producer.Ìý Who makes you write it again...Ìý fifty times.Ìý

Ìý

What kind of a madman would voluntarily choose that existence?Ìý Who could possibly endure that kind of torturous profession? Who, I ask you... WHO!?Ìý

Ìý

Step forward Mr Toby Whithouse, the legendary creator of Being Human.Ìý Without his sacrifice of man hours and sanity, we wouldn't have the drama we know and love today.Ìý But what did that original script look like?Ìý Well, thanks to Toby and the Ö÷²¥´óÐã Writersroom, you can nowÌýclick here to download the script directly to your computer (which is good because I don't have nearly enough stamps to post it).Ìý

Ìý

Downloading the script gives a from-the-horses-mouth insight into what Toby wanted to achieve in each scene, and even shows how the finished product varies from the ideas that were in Toby's head all those many months ago.Ìý

Ìý

And a message to all the other budding writers out there,Ìýdon't miss the other fantastic tips, advice and informationÌýthat theÌýWritersroom has to offer.Ìý

I'm first!! Hooray!! absolutely thrilled about being able to download the script! And overjoyed that us hopeless bloggers haven't been forgotten already - I haven't been so obsessed with a show since "Robin of Sherwood" back in 1984!!

  • Comment number 2.

Thank you so much for that. It's really interesting to see the little changes that were made. hope you can put up scripts for the other episodes or maybe even consider doing a Being Human book. With LOTS of photos.

  • Comment number 3.

Brilliant, thank you. It is great reading this almost like a new edition in my mind, although I am using the same characters. More please.

  • Comment number 4.

Excellent, thank you. I had seen mention of the Writersroom on a closed Facebook group, but it's great to get a link to the BH script

  • Comment number 5.

Weirdly I already have it, which makes me wonder if I've made some shady insider connections and then subsequently forgotten about them (er, seriously, any clues, people?).. Regardless, this is a fantastic thing to share! More, more!

  • Comment number 6.

Jaynedoll, you have the most fantastic ideas ever. A BH book, GOOD LORD YES.

  • Comment number 7.

Absolutely, Jaynedoll, I'm with you on that. A BH book might keep us going until the next series. Hope someone from the Ö÷²¥´óÐã reads this, they'd sell shedloads I'm sure.

  • Comment number 8.

brilliant thanks for that i probably wont be able to download due to pathetic computer lol but ta for the thought :-) and jaynedoll yeah a book migt be god although highly unlikly theyd get it out before series 2 comes out dunno if itd be financially viable though - BH is still described as a cult thing probably only be us lot that would buy it :-S theres a lot of us but not enough maybe......still loving the blog thogh but i have a business head on today.

Thanks BH people - thanks for not forgetting us :-)

  • Comment number 9.

Oh and thanks for the writersroom link - very interesting. I always wanted to be a writer until i realised you actually had to be good at it lol there is a sketch show, a sitcom pilot and 2 and a half stand up routines in my desk that I read when I need a giggle - nothing worse than laughing at your own jokes lol although I tend to laugh at my own deluded mind thinking I could ever write anything half decent rather than at the inteligent and hilariously witty comedy lol.
    Thanks again guys.

  • Comment number 10.

    In a word...Wow!

I've only read a few pages- I like the origional opening monologue actually :-) not saying its better but equally good...anyone else think it would have made a good novel?

Oh or is that what you meant when you said a book? lol i assumed you meant like a making of...anyway its making a brilliant read...thanks guys :-)

  • Comment number 11.

already been there i've been googling for scripts for weeks.

Not wanting to seem greedy but...

    MORE PLEASE!!!

  • Comment number 12.

aww this was brilliant! thank you so much for putting it up :) it just makes mitchell's struggle seem so hard!! thanks again x

  • Comment number 13.

You guys are the best *gushes*
thanks for that - it's really interesting to read and pick out all the little changes.

Aah, just been watching our little george as Budgie in Gavin and Stacey, and now the Edge of Reason is on - isn't this the one with Herrick in it?

  • Comment number 14.

Yeah Jason is Bridgets lawyer bloke. ive been watching gavin and stacey aswell :-) watching the lovely Mr Tovey - i do wish hed grow his hair - he had it a bit longer on the comic releif thing he looked even more gorgeous...yeah i know hes gay but makes no odds to me im not planning on marrying him lol just looking :-)

  • Comment number 15.

Oh and script wise - i like the off milk roll over week joke wish that had stayed....

  • Comment number 16.

why is it saying "wrote" all of a sudden? it doesnt usually.....how odd.

  • Comment number 17.

Fantastic you guys thank you for keeping your word by keeping us in the loop with what's been going on and what's happening, what a little gem of a gift for us die hard BH fans, thanks again you guys xx

  • Comment number 18.

Ok, this just proves how ignorant I am that I didnt know that writersroom thing existed until now. Shame on me. I shall probably be living there from now on. now that I've got it in my head that I would like to be the insane person typing away behind closed doors. I know. I must need therapy.

    Anyway

Thankyou for that! When I have a moment inbetween writing 4000 words by Friday for two uni essays, I shall have a good ol' read through of it.

I'm loving the title pic as well. Showing how much coffee - literally - goes into the making of programmes, lol!

  • Comment number 19.

I sympathise with you, Georns; I have an essay due on Thursday :-S I can write forever when it's just from my head, and I can talk about academic stuff 'til the cows come home, but when it comes to actually writing academic stuff, I switch off and find it hard to stay motivated.

I was just watching another channel's version of iPlayer (trying to dodge the mods there but you all know what I mean) and it is just soooo much better than iPlayer. You can watch so many past series' of programmes and there is no time limit. Wish we could have a Beeb equivalent, so we could keep watching Being Human 'til the DVD is out. Sigh.

  • Comment number 20.

    So, 'George Sands'
I thought that it was an imdb creation around the pilot, but to see it in the script proves me wrong

    Thank you for posting,v.informative

  • Comment number 21.

Sperkii i agree although my laptop doesnt really cope with any of them lol.

And I sympathise as well i have a stupid amount of work to do and none of it is getting done it is so dull - I hate my job I hate my course Im only going back every day because Ive got a couple of months left and think theres no point dropping out now but my God it is dull lol Im watching Dylan Moran's stand up which is much more interesting :-) sperkii Im like you I can write and write and love it and lose hours but none of it is anything course related :-S if i actually had writing talent id be sorted - i have a sitcom a sketch show - well kind of that one never got finished and various drafts of stand up - none of which is any good but i love doing it and like i said ive lost many a weekend to it :-S

  • Comment number 22.

yeah George Sands lol ooh. IMDB is a great site but i am wondering why Guy flanagans page says "john mitchell" but aidans only says "mitchell" sorry just another pointless observation

  • Comment number 23.

eagle is that Like, Totally? I love it when he's talking about the things children say '..you know that space under the kettle? What's it called?..' etc etc :-)

I'd be terrible at writing stand up or sketch shows or screenplays. I am more of a poem/lyrics/stories type (mind you, they're pretty pants and are more therapeutic than anything).

Yes, I also hate my course but only have 6 months left so may as well plod on.

Oh dear, eagle, it's us again, highjacking :-S

  • Comment number 24.

wow just read the whole thing i dont no if it was the right one because it just went strait to writers room and it was perry much what was said word for word but it was still intresting.

(has anyone else got weird numbers after there user name its just wierd there on every blog page)

any way i would beable to write any thing like this i have loads of ideas in my head but when i write them down it doesnt come out right and always seem quite childish and stuipid

  • Comment number 25.

That was brilliant, thanks Ö÷²¥´óÐã!! I just read the whole thing in one go, couldn't tear my eyes away! Nice to see the little changes made in it before it got to the screen. Just makes me appreciate those lovely housemates even more!! Roll on the DVD release, I feel like I'm in mourning at the moment!!

  • Comment number 26.

Thanks so much for that ..what a treat! Have just read it from start to finish. I loved Annie's opening sequence about "flotsam and jetsom(?) of death" and how she refers to themelves as "refugees" finding eachother it's just beautiful!

  • Comment number 27.

Lol sperkii yeah it was liketotly ive just ordered monster off amazon too-he is hilarious "cos thats how the irish are still seen - as twinkly eyed ****ers with a pig under their arm saying ere ill paint your house but watch i might steal the ladder aha!" lol he is amazing have you got the black books box set? if so watch seires 1 and 2 with the commentary on he is hilarious on it - its a like a whole other stand up routine over the top of show its great but there isnt one on series 3 :-(

I watched it god knows how much yesterday - Im on russell howard tonight - hes hilarious but Im still kind of in a dylan moran mood so might just watch it again lol

"you get off a train in london you hear 'do not approach unattended packages' you get of a train at Bristol temple meads and you genuinely hear 'ere dont feed the pigeons!'" lol

  • Comment number 28.

the numbers have gone it must have been my computer weird!!

yes i to read the whole thing in one go but like i said before i dont think i read the right one as it was the same as what was said in the episode

  • Comment number 29.

eagle, yes I do have the Black books box-set. I am still essay writing and feel very much like Bernard trying to do his taxes. Think I may go and pair my socks and make a smart casual jacket out of my notes lol

  • Comment number 30.

Lol have you watched it with the commentary? Its Dylan and Bill Bailey and Tamsin Greig as well.

I actually did pair all my socks the other day - Dont let the Jehovas witnesses in though lol not until its really desperate anyway! I set myself right back last night sat doing work then got so annoyed i threw it across the room - so then it was all mixed up and just no no no......i think the leather bound pounds thing is brilliant.

    Sorry for highjacking again :-S

    Lets par...
No! You will not use party as a verb in my shop!!

  • Comment number 31.

katy it is very similar to what was said in the final cut just some extra bits - perhaps were made but then edited out im not sure. there is only one on the writersroom as far as i can see :-S

  • Comment number 32.

Not seen it with commentary yet. I shouldn't be watching anything at the mo. In 6 months time I'll be free as a mortgage-bound bird though!

  • Comment number 33.

Oh and sperkii - i work with children i can seriously empathise with him - I have actually been asked what the spaces in between the bits on a comb are called as well as (there are hundreds but off the top of my head...) what the little metal bit on a hair bobble is called, why we have eyebrows, why a fork is called a fork, why A comes first, why polos have holes, and why is glitter so small lol the list goes on...

I like the bit about women going through so many changes in their lives yet blokes "you're born with a finger up your nose, your other hand on your **** and you just get taller!" lol

  • Comment number 34.

Lol oh you have to watch it! He tells them off for more irish slurs lol i dont wanna give too much away cos its great but apparently our time will come we will all be just as ****ed as the irish come the great...latte famine lol

  • Comment number 35.

eagle I am laughing so much about the questions the children have asked you :-D things children say is brilliant material

  • Comment number 36.

Lol its only funny coming from them though unfortunately :-(

God horne and corden are actually hilarious Mat just jumped in handcuffed to a headboard in his pants with his legs tied together saying she kept calling me gavin! she had her name changed to stacey by depo! James' answer "well thats the risk you take picking up girls from the gavin and stacey facebook appreciation society" lol i do hope Aidan has learnt a lesson from that.... :-S

  • Comment number 37.

Must say I am not a huge Horne and Corden fan. I quite like Gavin and Stacey but wouldn't be gutted to miss. I haven't found H&C amusing in interviews, or on Comic Relief, or for the trailers of their new show, so I didn't bother tuning in

  • Comment number 38.

    *miss it

  • Comment number 39.

Ah blasphemy lol its ok im not a huge fan of the office and nobody seems to understand that considering i usually love any comedy...

Horne and Corden are brilliant though its repeated tonight at 1.45 id give it a watch if you're still up sperkii

I am a huge fan of James Corden though hes brilliant - apparently hes actually quite shy youd never believe it would you lol

  • Comment number 40.

    'appalling Irish
accent' *^_^* so true, great that Mitchell replied 'So I'm French now' LULZ Thank you thank you thank you for this little comment.

Unfortunatly, this bad accent thing is a fact on many film and tv, worst offenders,Brad Pitt and the guys playing the Irish characters in Heroes(it was set in Cork right, well they had 2 guys with a Dublin accent and one with a Belfast accent and one really crap attempt at a general Irish accent) if you're planning on doing it, for God sake do it right(like Angelica Heuston in 'The Dead', best attempt by someone on doing an Irish accent) That and that guy playing Doyle in Angel.
Sorry, this is a major bugbear for me. Toby Whithouse thank you for noticing this too:)

BTW song request for next series 'I am the beat' by The Look(I know, cheesy, but you can use it for when the characters are having a silly LULZ moment and start random dancing in a Breakfast club-esque way)

  • Comment number 41.

Another thought about the "appalling irish accent" so is this an edit of the script after it had been cast or do we think toby always wrote mitchell as irish?

  • Comment number 42.

Just been idly looking at the area of Totterdown where a lot of BH is set and saw that The Shakespeare pub (featured in pilot and is also down the street from the house) had a whole family of Mitchells in the 1870s; one of the sons being a John Mitchell; wow is that just a coincidence? Also another question I have - is it a Vampire thing to be known just by your Sir name? We know Herrick's name is William and Mitchell's of course being John or is it something that stayed with them after the First World War?

  • Comment number 43.

hey, drivingsuzanne, I was wondering that too. Because I'm guessing that Seth is his christian name, so how do we work that one out?
Fascinating thing about the Mitchells of Totterdown too! wonder if Toby would answer if we emailed the beeb and asked him if it was just a coincidence?

  • Comment number 44.

That would be fab as obviously there's so much more to ask! Good point about Seth though - we need to know a bit more about the Vampire hierarchy.

  • Comment number 45.

When you read through the script did you sort of mutter it under your breath adding an Irish lilt when you read Mitchels bits?
(although possibly if you're irish that would apply to all the casts lines).

or adding George squeeks and stutters

    or was that just me?

  • Comment number 46.

Most of my friends call each other by their surnames.

Seeing as their lives started at least 100 yrsish ago. Is it not like an old fashioned thing, like in schools girls get called by their first names boys are often referred to by their surnames.

Maybe Seths Surname is embarrasing - Cockbottomly or something else unbecoming of a vampire?

  • Comment number 47.

    @ eagleeyes4

it's the shooting script from september 08 so they'd have cast it by then. The shooting script is the last draft so it has to be done with the specific actors/locations/shot-choices in mind...

@ ohsuzi i totally read it with the irish accent

@ lionskeeper - i SECOND the request for breakfast club moments!! Boy would i love to see the 3 of them in a cheesy dance sequence. Yay!!

  • Comment number 48.

Re the sirname thing - most of the blokes I know call each other by their last name but I think its quite a cool thing isnt it? Sort of only close friends do that so maybe thats why Seth is always known as Seth - because hes not one of the "cool" vampires.

And Bexter Im not sure that it had been cast as it describes Lauren as having red hair not brown - which I believe she did in the pilot? So I thought maybe before the recast but then Guy wasnt irish so that ruined that theory.

  • Comment number 49.

    QUESTION TO TOBY OR BENGHUMANPRODUCTION.

Just wondering - the script is really good however, by the time it hit our screens a lot of the funny lines and the sort of "normal" lines you know the day to day things (Mitchell eating all the golden grahams for instance) had been cut. I was just wondering if this was a concious thing to make the show more dramatic or if it all came down to time? Ive met a couple of writers in my time and have always been told "you're only as good as the best thing you cut" which kind of says it all about Being Human to be honest because some really good lines got cut :-(

  • Comment number 50.

    @ eagle_eyes4
I think it was after personally. Maybe Toby himself could fill us in sometime if he has time to do so

    @Oh Suzie
    ^_^ Cockbottomly bwahahahaha

    @bexter2001
    Yay!
But what other songs could we ask for this type of dance sequence???

  • Comment number 51.

    @eagleeyes4

yeah i just read up about the 'shooting script' and apparently even tho it's the last official script there can stil be changes after that... so ignore me!

However i still think if that script was from september that's too close to when they'd have been shooting for them not to have cast it... they'd have to leave the actors time to prepare ( unless aidan made up all that stuff about reading horror/supernatural books!!)

the lauren thing - wll her hair colour isn't integral to the plot and isn't mentioned like mtichell's accent so maybe that detail wasnt important enough to change..

    dunno!

  • Comment number 52.

oh suzi, I'm still laughiing!! Seth Cockbottomley!! I just laughed and spluttered all over the keyboard!

  • Comment number 53.

ahahahahahaha ..cockbottomley.. can we campaign to make that officially seth's surname? PLEASE?!!

    Lionskeeper:

pump it up -elvis costello (can really see them bouncing around to this!)

lionel richie - dancing on the ceiling (because annie actually could!)

MGMT- kids .. cos i love it.

petula clark - downtown... because 'when you're alone and life is making you lonely you can always go... to totterdown!

..And you may find somebody kind-
    To help and understand you,
someone who is just like you
    And needs a gentle hand
    To guide them along.
    So maybe I'll see you.
There we can forget all our troubles,
    Forget all our cares.
    So go... to totterdown!!

rolling stones - honky tonk woman

oh and another song i'd like in the show that isn't necessarily a 'dancey' one...

the eels - my beloved monster.

    ....
    My beloved monster is tough
If she wants she will disrobe you
But if you lay her down for a kiss
Her little heart it could explode

She will always be the only thing
That comes between me and the awful sting
That comes from living in a world that's so damn mean

  • Comment number 54.

    okay im a leetle obsessed...

  • Comment number 55.

you and me both, bexter2001!! maybe we could make "Downtown" the unofficial BH anthem! changing it to "Totterdown" of course!

  • Comment number 56.

i seriously fancy doing a BH tour of Totterdown and other areas of BH interest eg the facade of the funeral parlour. Definitely The Shakespeare pub and "The House" exterior of course. It's all very close to Temple Meads railway station (where Bernie reappeared). Is that totally sad on all kinds of levels?

  • Comment number 57.

Not sad at all in my opinion! If I lived nearer I'd be there with you!!

  • Comment number 58.

Perhaps an open top bus with "BH Bloggers R Us" emblazoned on the side!?

  • Comment number 59.

Im sure you are all aware but for those who arent - interview with a vampire just starting on bbc 3 brad pitt and tom cruise 2 of my least favourite actors but im willing to give it a go - its meant to be quite good. although so far not impressed with the look of brad pitt lol find it very hard with so many different versions of vampires - why cant everyone just stick to the facts lol

  • Comment number 60.

Yes, eagle, I spotted that too. I am not a huge fan either. I prefer Queen of the Damned, if I must.

drivingsuzanne - 'BH Bloggers R Us' hahahaha

Ooh I didn't realise Totterdown (mmm I always hear Aidan say it in my head) was near BTM? I have to go near there for tutorials every now and then, so perhaps I'll join fellow BH geeks on a pilgrimage (where Totterdown = mecca)

  • Comment number 61.

God, I can't stand Tom Cruise and Brad Pitt. Dreadful casting. I just wonder if I'd have liked the Interview with a Vampire film it if it had been different actors? I think it's still a bit too one-dimensional for my liking.

  • Comment number 62.

Lol I can only hear totterdown in Aidans voice too :-)

Have to say Im loving this film and I tell you Kirsten Dunst is a good little actress isnt she - I think shes better there than in more recent times :-S Slightly worried how much I always seem to empathise with the vampires in these things think theres something a bit twisted in my brain somewhere lol have to say tom cruise makes for quite a dashing vampire which is something I thought I would never say about Tom Cruise its slightly worrying :-S

  • Comment number 63.

i quite enjoyed interview with the vampire when i first saw it. Im not big on cruise and pitt either (especially when pitt's in one of his 'blank faced supernatural' roles that he seems to do every few years (interview, meet joe black, benjamin button, what's going on??)

but yeah i think it's a fun imagining of the vampire world and you can't argue witht eh fact that it's beautifully filmed.. and the bit where tom cruise comes back from the river and is playing the piano from behind that billowy curtain? aaaaah!

um i am SO up for a totterdown tour. I was planning to goon one with my mate ANYWAY but hey.. i think a fan-trip might be a good idea. Maybe we can start a thread on it on the facebook fan page?

is anyone friends with a bus company employee?

    lol.

and of course singing 'downtown' but with totterdown inserted into the lyrics would be a must.

Plus T-shirts saying 'World's Gayest Ninjas Association'.

    Yes indeed.

  • Comment number 64.

oh dear.. just realised i may have spoilerised IWTV for you first time viewers...

    Woops.

  • Comment number 65.

    It's such a hammy film/performance.

  • Comment number 66.

its ok its past that bit lol sperkii you not a fan then? have to say i am loving it but then i havent seen many vampire films only twilight becasue i work in a cinema so have seen about every film released in the last 2 years and im gonna get slated for this but i didnt think it was that bad - not as bad as everyone has made out anyway.
But would like to know of any good ones if you have any suggestions? I dont mind scary dont mind blood - also dont mind what you would call "tame" either so any really - to broaden my mind :-) ...

  • Comment number 67.

near dark (kinda boring but it's cool and some of the vampires are kinda hot)

the lost boys (amaaaazing! influential! 80s! kiefer sutherland! the two coreys! sisters of mercy song! santa monica! yeeeaaahhhh!)

    salem's lot (series)

buffy the vampire slayer (crap but HILARIOUS!)

    and of course... Nosferatu.

    :)

  • Comment number 68.

    oh yeah and Fright Night

    oh and and 'Martin'

    - that one's a bit different but totally cool. especially as it paints the vampire as just being a misunderstood outcast. .. well a murdering misunderstood outcast.. but whatever..

  • Comment number 69.

Blade and 30 days of night are ok but not great..

  • Comment number 70.

Out of interest - they all have long hair and claudias hair grows back and has to be long now is this a vampire thing or is it just that their hair must stay as it was when they died and it as the fashion of the time to have it long?

Not liking te sunlight thing in this one - i dont for a moment believe that sunlight can kill vampires think thats just media pondering to the whole "spooky" thing just an excuse to set it all at night and try and scare people loada rubbish if you ask me. Apart from that still a pretty good film so far although endings usually spoil it for me - think thats why i like tv better as a rule there is no definate ending like to a film so may change my mind in the next 20 mins.

  • Comment number 71.

also know you didn't ask for them but you GOTTA watch these werewolf movies cos they're AWESOME...

American Werewolf In London (do NOT die without seeing this film.. you will probably be sent to hell for stupidity)

    Dog Soldiers

    Ginger Snaps

    In the Company of Wolves

Wolf (gotta love Jack Nicholson bein crazy ol' jack nicholson!)

oo for Vampires i forgot From Dusk til Dawn!!!

and Nosferatu the vampire by Herzog!!

  • Comment number 72.

Good vampire movies (apart from the ones suggested)
Vamp (but only because it has Grace Jones in)
    From Dusk Till Dawn
Shadow of the Vampire (which imagines what if the director of Nosferatu had found a real vampire to star in his movie).
I've never seen The Hunger but I know a lot of people really like it.
Also that new movie Let The Right One in has been getting good reviews and the book it's based on is amazing. About a young boy who befriends a child vampire.

  • Comment number 73.

I remember the lost boys, I went and saw it when it came out! Loved it! I too am thinking that Interview with the Vampire is not as good as I remember it - Brad and Tom have alot to live up to now tho, don't they??
Oh yes, Totterdown bus tour (open top of course), all wearing our "gayest ninjas" Tshirts and singing "Downtown" at the top of our voices!

  • Comment number 74.

i like the sunlight thing and am glad they at least kept an element of it for BH (although the full burst-into-flames thing would've been too restrictive for this type of show i agree)

I think it fits in with the whole emotional plight of the vampire - doomed to live forever but only on the edges of society, in cold darkness, forced to face their most monstrous capabilities and act them out every day, unable to enjoy the warm comfort of the sun or to enjoy the nurturing, positive side of humanity.. only destruction and bloodlust for them!

as BH proves you can still communicate this without making the sun fatal.. but i like that there's still some kind of 'allergy' there.. like they can walk in the sunlight, but they know they don't really belong there. like the glare is too strong and it threatens to reveal their true selves - hence the sunglasses - to hide one's true identity! (and to prevent migraines..)

  • Comment number 75.

Thanks for the film list although me and buffy is never gonna happen lol as horrible as they are as much as they kill and everything I cant help but agree with the whole "misunderstood outcast" thing - sure there are some right **s but then so are plenty of humans only they dont have the power to casue as much trouble as the vampires.

Also it's not a werewolf movie but it's a similar thing (people being transformed into animals) --- Cat People with Natassia Kinski.

For music I'd really like to hear something by Hannah Fury or Rasputina's version of Wish You Were Here. If they ever play Hotel California then I hope they have the decency to choose the Vulgaras version because everytime I hear it, it sends chills down my spine.

30 Days of Night awful awful awful.

    Dog Soldiers also not good.

    Not sure about the others.

I like Twilight, even though it was too romancy. I liked the subtle humour.

Obviously Underworld Trilogy isn't bad. Van Helsing's ok. Better than Interview.. anyway.

Oh and Queen of the Damned is alright

Gave a list of music suggestions on one of the other blog posts. Can't remember which one though.

Re: Buffy, the stories get very ridiculous but I like the main characters. And it is quite funny.

  • Comment number 81.

Oh God, Pitt and Cruise are truly awful actors

  • Comment number 82.

Lol wow loadsa films not gonna be able to afford all them maybe a trip to thr library may be in order and then buy the good ones so while were on it any good books?

As for the werewolves ive seen dog soldiers i didnt like it when i saw it but maybe i would now.

Also a minor point but like the fact that when they bite there are more than just fang marks - because there would be wouldnt there if you think about it - its all about the little things :-)

Ok so its finished and all in all a good film if you ask me quite impressed with the ending glad lestat was back - quite liked him and felt pretty sorry for him not sure if thats what they wanted or not but oh well :-S

I particularly liked the way BH handled the sunlight thing near the beginning of episode 4 just before Mitchell encounters Bernie: a glance up towards the sun at the front door - it just seems to symbolise some warmth and welcome for Mitchell as he's about to "dip his toe".

Also loving the world's gayest ninjas association T shirt - seriously have to get one printed.

  • Comment number 84.

lol sperkii they are which is why i was a bit reluctant to like it but i really did glad its repeated in a couple of days cant be doing with just watching a film once like to watch a few and analyze - definately one ill be buying though or ill be finding someone who has it although most of my friends really arent into the vampire thing and took the mick outa me enough for watching being human lol (although most of them were converted by the end so mwah ha ha!)

Will definately check out the others suggested guys so thanks - my mums fella has that lovefilm rental thing might see if he can get me a couple on his list :-) definately wanna check out the book aswell as apparently its totally different to the film?

  • Comment number 85.

yes drivingsuzanne i love the way sunlight is handled in BH think its as close to the truth as were gonna get - although i still think that the only way a vampire could be killed is to chop their head off or cut them in half - some way of separating them to an extent they cant repair themselves - not sure about the stake but hey it works for the show so not gonna argue :-)

    *waves back* at superOchre

eagle, superOchre can help you re: Interview with a Vampire book methinks.

Also eagle, am afraid I have now seen Horne and Corden and am not a fan at all. Have laughed about twice. I looked for reviews of it in the paper as well and the best comment I could find about it was '..it's no worse than Little Britain...'

  • Comment number 89.

omg that's the first time you've seen it???!
ok... can i offer some advice (if you like the film) get the book.
when you read the book forget the whole film (impossible i know, but lestat is not tom cruise as the author states). ok i'll shut up now.

  • Comment number 90.

Lol what do you mean by Lestat isnt Tom Cruise? just badly cast?

Horne and Corden have to admit i didnt laugh loads - got major giggles at the first part but i still like it.

Someone help me out here - whoever suggested the film Martin its looking pretty promising but is it in black and white or colour? I think ill give it a go either way but (uncuiltured as it sounds!) i dont tend to like black and white films - i know thats really bad and it shouldnt make too much of a difference to a good story but I dont know its just me - but of course there are some exceptions...

  • Comment number 91.

Also ive never had much time for Blade and ive just had a proper look and i have to say it sounds even worse than i ever imagined - a big budget load of hype nonsese - how can someone be half vampire? no not for me i dont think right next on the list lol...

  • Comment number 92.

lol 30 days of night also same as above :-S why is all the ones that seem to have done well at the box office seem to be the worst? just a load of farfetched **** if you ask me but whatever floats your boat i guess

  • Comment number 93.

Well, I was too young to watch the film at the cinema so I grabbed the book and.. Lestat is not Tom, trust me, he's badly cast (Anne Rice was furious) but Pitt will do Armand- very badly cast. Just bad acting tbh.
    Dunst is perfect though.

Just read back about black books and the Jehovah statement, that was my favourite line.

  • Comment number 94.

30 days of night was very disappointing for me (more zombie film). I haven't watched Twilight and I don't think I will so I can't compare but BH and Interview w/ seem a good comparison.

  • Comment number 95.

Lol yeah weve had some odd conversations on this page sorry!

Out of interest - who is Lestat? In the book? Can you think of anyone who you think woulda been good in the role? Is it just looks wise or does he just play it badly? Im definately gonna get the book. I said earlier this is the first time ive ever seen tom cruise as attractive lol its a bit worrying although its not just me - its odd isnt it how kind of sexy the whole vampire culture has become - wonder if that really does annoy the real vampires or not (Assuming for now that there are some but thats a whole other debate! :-))

  • Comment number 96.

Personally i dont think twilight was that bad - i dont for a moment believe that real vampires would be liek that but as a work of fiction its pretty entertaining - i could quite happily sit through it which is more than can be said for most that im reading about now :-S although the acting isnt up to much in my opinion and i dont particularly like the high school thing...ok so theres quite a lot i dont like about it lol but for what it is its ok

  • Comment number 97.

Ok just reading about the hunger and i thought it sounded quite good and then there comes this half human half vampire thing? not liking that im nearly at the end of the list now lol found a couple at least and then the anne rice books which i think im gonna have to give a go

  • Comment number 98.

Who is Lestat?? Lestat de Lioncourt (if my memory serves me correctly from 12 years ago) the main character.
Looks, acting, charisma.. just wrong but actually I think that in the book the character is so enigmatic that it would be a struggle for any actor to play it convincingly. The other character Louis wasn't written as colourfully though so more easily cast.
I agree with Anne Rice that Christian Slater should have been Lestat, without a doubt, but his schedules conflicted or something so he played the interviewer.

  • Comment number 99.

eagle! How can you not like black and white films?! Ok, if you never watch another black and white film in your life, you HAVE to watch It's a Wonderful Life. Everyone should. Non-vampirey I'm afraid though

  • Comment number 100.

Oh i see - i knew which character lestat was just meant as a character who is he kinda thing. well i quite liked the film anyway think ill be buying it. just wikipedia'd let the right one in and it seems like a good film although ive just read the entire synopsis so know exactly what happens and dont need to buy it know lol but its a good story :-)
