this is so interesting! Love amy manson, wasn't sure i could imagine her in this so soon after Des ROM, BUT SO GOOD!

Wonder what the other prequels are like and who is in them?....more vampires...definitely more George and Nina we need a lot more about them to understand about her scars (both sets) and about his reaction to what he did to her...and about her being a werewolf because I think she is! And other stuff like CenSSA, who and what Lucy is and how she's involved (if she is, but I think she is even if its in a distant kind of way)...need to know more about Mitchell and Josie and how important she was and why/how she "saved him"...that intrigues me, god knows why...

Can see Mitchell getting, or being enticed into being, involved with Daisy...she's a one! Scenarios possibly are

1. Daisy comes on to him, he rejects her, she wreaks vengeance by either kidnapping/killing Lucy or telling the humans where they can find him;
2. Daisy and Mitchell get do wn and dirty, but then he rejects her anyway because he knows what she's like (and I think he already knows her) and she does the revenge thing;
3. They get extremely friendly, he feels himself being drawn in to her world again, fights against it, then she rejects him having got what she wants and either dumps him or tries to blackmail him...he's shocked because he's started to have feelings for her tho she's married and for a while goes a little strange...may feel he wants to go back to the vampire way of life or just has some kind of semi-breakdown...as a vampire she'd be a safe partner (at least the sex would be something useful they could do without killing each other) and she's beautiful and he may feel himself falling for her...could be that while Ivan is OK with Daisy getting her "trophies" he'd not be too happy at finding out that big bad John is worming his way into his wife's affections (perhaps Daisy begins to fall in love with Mitchell??? and he with her...how about that scenario then? Major problems there....)

too much last seasons story the whole on off vampire thing what i begin to wonder we've seen vampire back stories and been promised more in the new season. will there be and werewolf stories in there as well old interactions reasons for the conflict between the two species.
the werewolf story ling has another question in most myths werewolves can heal through the change Tullys scars for example were less than they should have been dose this mean Ninas scars will heal?

Wooh..BHProduction going into overdrive this week....introducing us to CenSAA and now this great prequel for Ivan and Daisy ( not forgetting young...but very very old, Hetty)

Verrrrry interesting! Read posts above about whether Daisy is mother or not ..I'm thinking not but it could of course be a ruse. She says at beginning 'Ivan says she'll be dead by now she's in a home' so i'm thinking she's referring to her mama although she could have been forced to place her child in a home..nah..I think Daisy is talking about her own mama.
Amy still has that soft voice she had in Des Res. Didn't sound to me as if she'd met Mitchell before ..she'd heard of him but I don't know whether she's met him..although she's obviously lived in Bristol at one time so maybe they did know each other. Obviously issues with Daisy and her 'family' in Bristol and Ivan not keen on her being with them..mmmm wonder why?
And yeh..no doubt she'll try to get her claws ( fangs?) into our boy...well she would wouldn't she?....she seems keen to meet George .to add to her 'collection'...poor Georgie doesn't realise he's become so 'famous'..he'll need protecting! ( Wonder if Tully comes back to help....or hinder?)

Sounds like it's all kicking off in Bristol for the vampires after Herrick's death..they're leaderless and causing mayhem....cue Mitchell to calm things down..but does it work? Do the vampires hold him responsible?...and act accordingly?

And that Hetty..strange to hear a child talking as if she's 'been there done that' ..wouldn't she just have stayed in child mode despite her age?

Ooh Ewan good point! It could be her daughter not her mum couldn't it "she'll be dead by now" then wanting to go "visit some family" so dead but vampire/ghost? :-S but the way she said "by now" I figured she meant died because she was old but maybe they got caught up in something and she thinks she'll be dead because someone will have killed her?

Oh and by the way "big bad John" 1. I love it! and 2. So he was known as John at one point then...or maybe it's just when he's in trouble lol like when you were at school and they'd call you by your full name if you'd been bad :-P

Dramalovely - I was thinking that - newbie could be 100 odd because she new Mitchell as "big bad John" and didn't know he'd gone clean so she must have known him pre 1960s - because we saw in Mitchells prequel that he was trying to get on the wagon and certainly wasn't at his worst. So she must be at least 50 odd...

Hmm other prequels - they said at Notts they wanted to do ones for Kemp/the professor but couldnt because it gave too much away or something. Maybe Lucy?? Assuming she is who she says she is then that could be good and give us a bit of an insight...

It's ironic that in the song 'Big Bad John', John is actually a good guy who sacrifices his own life to save others, whereas the vamps use it to just mean evil.. of course turns out Mitch is closer to his namesake than they thought! This show is so multilayered!

Like Ivan and Daisy. Daisy the vampire, haha. I like murderous vampire couples, ever since Spike and Dru...

The old kid was funny but not very convincing tbh.. I agree with brown irish that she wouldn't have sounded that 'old' - my gran's always saying she still feels 16 on the inside, and im sure that if they could, oldies would act like kids the first chance they got! I think a vampire child would always be psycho within a couple of decades.. more psycho than your average vamp, that is. Certainly not tired and grumbly like your average lace-curtain, biscuits and sherry granny.

I commend the attempt to be 'different' from other versions of vampire-kids.. but yeah, i don't really believe it.

I have to agree with you Bex. I wasn't convinced by the vamp child. I couldn't help but think how scary that could have been if they had made the child more menacing, composed, all knowing etc. But perhaps that's a slight stereotype. Generally they tend to be quite psycho and use their appearance to their advantage. Although I'm trying to think about stories of vamp children and can only think of one right now. It opens up a lot of thought and questions actually.
I was going to question why she would speak in that way if she was that old and well travelled. Then I remember it's just a tv show.

But I am fascinated by Bernie. I want to know what's become of him, how he might have changed. If his mum's still alive- doubt it. Have to wait till series 3 for that though.

I would assume that Daisy was speaking of her mother. Perhaps she was created around 30 years ago. They don't call Mitch a newbie and he's 100.

Ok so I just got home and have managed to watch the clip. Looks brilliant, she's excellent. Looking forward to that! I feel a bit silly as got mixed up in earlier post, was difficult to work out what was happening when I was sneakaly looking at the web in a shrunken box out of lunch hours ;)

As much as I loved Amy Manson in Des Res and thought she was perfect as Lizzie Siddel, I'm yet to be convinced that she can do 'menacing'..somehow she still looks too cute and she didn't make me in the least bit fearful..maybe that's the point...maybe she won't be a nasty piece of work..well..apart from killing barmen of course...and poss storyline could have us feeling sympathetic towards her.

Eagle: If Mitchell was 26 in 1914, he would have been born in 1888 (year of Jack the Ripper....pretty apt)...if he was created a vampire in 1914 he'd therefore be between 107 & 111 depending on what year he was 26 years old in and then 'created'....I'd also visit Twi if I were you and read down a few..:D
