first! But there's no point cus I can't even watch it in Ireland :D

  • Comment number 2.

I really liked future flashforwards but i dont think i really want anymore.

  • Comment number 3.

@oarelle - here either, but a yt vid should be avail soon.

  • Comment number 4.

Grateful for new blog but also need link...

  • Comment number 5.

hm...I'm searching youtube, so far no luck...

  • Comment number 6.

Really liked the places they chose - the Coal Exchange was excellent and the concentration camp feel of where WW and HB were killed. OK majorly depressing but that was kind of the point. Great job all round on that. Really worked - small things like the emptiness where Annie ironically talks about jet packs, and even though its been a overused image, the broken doll; it worked in a very understated way. We dont need bucket loads of CGI to make it work and it was meant to be a snap shot for us and Annie, so didnt need loads of screaming people either. Thank you for that. M and R et al.

  • Comment number 7.

@SunnyFLA yeah, sometimes it's even available before the blog's up, my excitement at being first was undiminished though :P

@Hanniefan I agree, I love seeing the characters' past more because it informs the present, whereas the future ones are just "if..."

  • Comment number 8.

Ooh, fourth! That's a personal best.

Yes, yes, 180 seconds. Can't even leave this page, it stops counting.

  • Comment number 9.

    Green box be gone!!!

@Rebecca have you done another typo there? lol

  • Comment number 10.

9 - LouLou - Rebecca doesn't do the typing - she has an *assistant* for that sort of thing! :-D Off for a lookie!

  • Comment number 11.

@LouLou22 I think she's still shaking after sunday's episode, she can barely type :D Just kidding Rebecca, much love! xx

  • Comment number 12.

Ta for the clip, the future is not bright.

I have one thing I really didn't like about series 4, I loved every single thing about it, except that black coat that Hal wears, it's just....no.

Much prefered the sand coloured one from the earlier episodes.

  • Comment number 13.

    9. Ha, didn't even notice the misspelling.

    Back to trawling YT.

  • Comment number 14.

as we have all moved I will ask again. Did anyone catch Russel Tovey on 'just a minute ' this afternoon?

  • Comment number 15.

Evening All! Evening Mods! I hope you get a link soon everyone -who does the link? Is it on the 主播大秀 playlist?

Well, it was a fab vid - so nice to see Andrew Purcell! I'm not sure, but I think the last time we saw him was the vid about how he made B. Edwards' funeral parlour. Yep - loved the artwork in S4 - now can we pleeeaaaaaaasee buy the T-shirt @主播大秀Shop?

ooh Oarelle you made a BOMB in cupcakes on the betting shop!

    3. Sunny - great questions that you asked Lord Toby - hope they pick one.
Ermmm *whispers* I think Wyndam is dust Sunny.... dust....

*runs away very fast before Sunny finishes readinggggg thhhhheeeee seeeeennnnnttttennnncccceeeeeeeeeee*

  • Comment number 16.

Interesting - and nice to add another location to the list!

Call me dumb (it's OK - you can) but I can't believe I had to have it pointed out to me that the posters are largely because vampires can't be photographed!

Still don't know who the voice on the radio was though...

  • Comment number 17.

hm...still can't find it on yt...*watches Dr Who trailer instead* ;)

  • Comment number 18.

*starts planning elaborate practical joke based around that manhole-cover-leading-to-cave*

  • Comment number 19.

    ooh new blog :D

  • Comment number 20.

    18-@Megan2345
*lol* but remember: It's all fun and games until somebody breakes their neck...or was that a leg? o.O Well...anyway...I shall keep away from manholes in the future XD in case you tampered with it.

  • Comment number 21.

Does it work if you post it or view on FB instead? I just keep getting a clip of Eve crying and Hals eyes going black as hes dosing on the bar.
Hal wears a lot more blue than you realise. 12 @Random R
14 Mrs Barrow Boy - am currently IPlayering that.
Did anyone catch RT tweet about being on the bus going to the gym and calling AT in NZ. Acronyms acronyms.....

  • Comment number 22.

Thank you to who ever posted up the SFX being human shopping list on the last blog. I may have to get a 'Hal' coat and i love that they've put kiaora at the bottom of the list! ROFL
I am also waiting for a link as im on mobile and cant watch the videos on websites.

  • Comment number 23.

@10/11 - Looking at her tweets, It's probably because she's more excited by madmen :D

Great Video - still doesn't say who is the vampire in the poster from Ep1 :)

  • Comment number 24.

21 poor RT does look like a rabbit in the headlights throughout. Did find it interesting that Paul Merton(PM!) was the only HS

  • Comment number 25.

oh I am all for the blue t-shirts

I am rewatching episode 1, and the bassy rift music from when Annie is amoungst the flames is the same music played when George is all half wolfed up and giving his last heroic act too.

  • Comment number 26.

I relly like these BTS videos, I'm usually not a big fan of seeing BTS, but I like the way these videos are put together. They show the BTS without ruining it for me, I usually find that BTS for me makes it harder to "believe" in the finished show, because they show all the cameras and stuff and then when I watch the scene I can't pretend it's "real" the way I wan't to. But here they show just enough, giving an insite to how it's been made without ruining it. I also really like that we get to hear what the production team were thinking and want they wanted us viewers to feel.
I really liked the future scenes, especielly the small things they used to give you a feeling of what it was like, i.e. the doll that someone else mentioned, the screams in the background, the shoe in the water etc.

  • Comment number 27.

well, nothing like a new blog to wake this place up, huh?

  • Comment number 28.

@0positiv haha yes i did that to!still cant find the vid on yt...

  • Comment number 29.

I doubt there'll be more flashforwards. The plotline of this series sort of demanded them - they wouldn't make sense in another series.
Can't believe I didn't recognise the same Redcliffe Caves (Bristol Catacombs) from series 2! Muddy, damp, smelly, and generally nasty to film in, I think they said back then. Imagine, Future Eve being stabbed (in the kidney - like mother, like daughter!) in the same place where Cara's teeth were smashed out... weird thought.
I loved the future scenes, though the greenscreened background on the outdoor shot for Ep1 first flashforward was a little too obvious (because of the changing shot angle - the background didn't shift with it properly).

Rewatched Eve of the War - George yells at Griffin "Give me back my ****ing baby!", the EXACT phrase that Annie yells at Mr Snow in The War Child (though her rendition is more impressive).

The scroll has a dual meaning, I've realised, especially the last bit - and Saviour DOES NOT EQUAL War Child (sorry if somebody's already done this, didn't have a chance to read comments on last blog):
Part 1: "A human child of the moon will be born in the house of Trinities." Fairly self-evident.
Part 2: "A saviour will bring about the end of the vampire race." Although Future Eve played a big role (sending Hal to Honolulu Heights, even though the result wasn't what she'd expected - it kept him from going Lordy; showing Annie what would happen to the world and the people in it if she kept the baby alive, which enabled Annie to go through with the bombing), Annie did the actual deed.
Part 3: "In order for the Saviour to save humanity, the War Child must die." Here's the duality bit: Future Eve had to die in order to do her vital stuff, AND Annie had no way to save Eve from the bomb so Eve had to die if Annie was to save humanity.

  • Comment number 30.

    22. @lozzie_lo Hi! It was me and you're very welcome! I'm very happy that they posted where you can buy KiaOra - I may now be making a few trips to Asda. :) Bit disappointed that we didn't find out about what happens to Hal when he drinks it though. Maybe next series...

  • Comment number 31.

    RT on TV this PM
    /i/b01fbkb4/

  • Comment number 32.

Yes Phill its been a great success well done.

Back in the Bristol caves and i didnt even notest, *hangs head in shame*

  • Comment number 33.

    yes, the future is bleak
the saviour killed the menace of the OOs

lving the vampires embedded within society, the ones Milo mentionned around well... around, Hal as the last OO standing, with possibly red jacket man and Hettie, nowhere to be seen, possibly Cutler's vamp fan club, such as the man who opens Tom's door in the disco after the change, and the rest of the vampires on this planet!

because if Mr Snow travelled with all the OOs to start conquering the world from Britain, he seriously misread Clausewitz, Caesar and a few other successful strategists...

  • Comment number 34.

Last official blog of the series :-( But still the Q&A to go with LT :-)

Anyway, Mr Trethown, can I call you Phil? Thanks! Well Phil, I, for one, have decided and yes it is one huge success. It's actually been supercalifragilisticexpialidocious. Well done all! Tick tock, the counting down goes.....................:-D

  • Comment number 35.

Im rubbish at tweeting but think I posted the link to my Twittwoo jobby thing. Its probably the link that wont work so doubt Ive solved anything.

I am. a Tweet Twit. This comment was brought to you today by "I do not wish to be modded"...
24 @Mrs BB am looking forward to the wry Fry and dry Tovey humour...

  • Comment number 36.

last shiny new official blog for a while :( But we will all be here keeping the blog fire burning and thinking of new ideas and questions. that is the nature and heart of the being human community and I will be checking in everyday for sure( more than once) Besides a year goes so fast....

  • Comment number 37.

33@Saint ..Thee future is bleak... the future is orange. Well it certainly would be if we have too much kia ora around here...

  • Comment number 38.

If hal is the last OO does this mean other vampires might track him down in series 5, that would be a very intresting plot line. Hoping hal does not fall off the wagon again, flash backs are ok, but not in present day! noooo!!

  • Comment number 39.

has anybody found it on youtube yet? *feels like she is simply to dumb to find it...*

  • Comment number 40.

I would surrend myself to vampires and ask to join them, but thats just me.

  • Comment number 41.

I don鈥檛 often do this but can I sneak in a quick plug for my latest review of 鈥淭he War Child鈥 here

I intend to keep posting throughout the wait for series five on any and every random thought about Being Human 鈥 if you look back on past posts you鈥檒l see how random it gets! I鈥檒l be here too 鈥 helps the withdrawal symptoms 鈥 and last summer was a blast! (In a rather odd but enormously entertaining way...)

  • Comment number 42.

@15 Really would love to be able to purchase t-shirts. I've been wanting to wear one for ages!! Just more merchandise in general would be good :D

  • Comment number 43.

Oh, and RE: Cutler - I think he did crumble, it's just that he fell down behind the sofa first and the next shot didn't show him at all (it focused on Annie crying and apologising for probably dooming the world). When the New HH Trinity got home, the first thing that happened was probably Hal hoovering-up Cutler.

  • Comment number 44.

    @a0k666
Good Spot with George & Annie's line & duality of the scrolls

    @mrsbarrowboy
Thanks for the link, l'll take a peak in a bit

  • Comment number 45.

    @43 a0k666
You're probably right, but I'm going to cling on to the hope that what we didn't see didn't happen! And that Cutler isn't proper dead.

  • Comment number 46.

@MancVamp ooh *collects my winnings and pops the kettle on* (in memory of Annie of course!) But what did I do?!

@Random-R I thought that every time he had it on too XD I think it's the way it buttons up(ugly buttons too) that bothers me - never mentioned it on the blog til now though, we had bigger fish to fry!

I LOVE just a minute, and of course I love RT(following suit with the unusually high level of acronym usage) I'll have to try find it on youtube
Speaking of, did anyone see the "just a minute" with our very own Toby Whithouse? It's great China Mieville is on the panel too if any y'all like him

  • Comment number 47.

    @15 I'd like a lycurious t-shirt

    @39 0positiv I had a good look around YT but couldn't find it :(

By the way what is the blackboard behind Phil Trethown all about? I know it's from Episode 1 of this season but that's it.

    @43 don't you crumble Cutler :P

  • Comment number 48.

41 - Yay aqua - keeping up your blog in the wilderness months. Can I just say to anyone who hasn't visited - go there - you will love it. And can I also say to anyone who doesn't have it - buy the book! It is superb and a must for any fan who is serious about BH (and no I am not on a payaway.........em aqua can we have a word...................:-D...............)

  • Comment number 49.

@aquamarine Thanks for the link! Really enjoy reading your reviews (as I mentioned a few blogs back) and am looking forward to any more things you post up there. I may even see if I can buy your book at some time :)

  • Comment number 50.

    @AOK

firstly you are the one who has offered a different axis of explanations for the war child and the saviour as not being the same individual

secondly, if prophecies are cattle-excrements and self fulffilling, this has been fullfilled but as the scrolls do not self write, self tattoo
    somebody did
    who knew the truth
who knew the truth from the future and wrote it in the past

wondering if Annie had not detonated the bomb, thus living Eve alive ... after listening to Mr Snow...
FE being dead is stuck in the corridors; what to do Annie has not killed her and Gal has lost it and Tom is a prisoner; while probably poor Alex is stuck being Hal's familiar...
FE decides to travel further down, and down, moving from rooms to corridors down , down till she finds somebody ready to listen to her, to help her, to get the scrolls ready and the copist writes down the prophecy
not through radio waves but through the sound of the lute etc, sound is also a vibration, a wave of some sort
    and writes down the prophecy

like a message in the bottle sent across the ocean of time

  • Comment number 51.

    47-@Kia_Ora
Good, I'm not too dumb then ^^ Phew

I want a "they're eating my focus group" shirt ;)

  • Comment number 52.

    @41 Thanks Aqua *bookmarks*
@51 0positiv I rewatched S4 Ep 1 today I'd forgotten how many good lines Cutler gets.

  • Comment number 53.

    @45 Sarasalian - I second that motion

I believe when Cutler was staked/kebab-ed he *thudded* to the floor - therefore indicting (in my mind anyway) he was solid when doing so - & not hoover filler

  • Comment number 54.

    52-@Kia_Ora
He sure does ^^ one of the reasons I like this character so much...I'm just a sucker for sarcastic characters who get all the best lines ;)

  • Comment number 55.

They're Eating My Focus Group... should go on an apron really. Or plates. Has anyone managed to work it into conversation yet?

    And a few more thoughts:
    a) The baby stuff has been packed away in Honolulu Heights by the end. *sob*
    b) Ah, the chair. Hopefully not the last nod to the Pink House Trinity. Even the line "Why are you doing this?" from the occupant is what Mitchell said to Carl - though Carl's answer was "Because it's what you'd do for me."
    c) Annie's final "I love you" to Eve: it is, in a way, another "I'm doing this because I love you"...

And now: can we all nominate the worst last words so far? Obviously Kane has got to be in there, but I always laugh at the thought that Kirby came out with at least ten consective sentences which would have worked... but finished with "You ought to get that looked at." Annie ("I'm sorry!") and Mitchell ("I know.") both got quite raw deals too. (I think Nina's last on-screen words were "Yeah... okay.") As for classics, Seth's "Ow..." makes me laugh every time.
Best last words? A tie between Vince ("Stake and chips, anyone?" Managing to come up with that while half-stoned, more than half mad, and impaled on a stake... deserves a special award) and McNair ("HOOOWWWWWWWLLL hahahahaha HOOOOWWWWWWWLLLLL"), I think...
PS Annie beats George for Top Parenting Deed. Dying for your baby is so much easier than killing them for their own benefit! (Sorry, George. But trophy handles emphasise your ears anyway.)

  • Comment number 56.

oh my giddy aunt... I go and cook dinner, come back and there's a new blog
*slumps into sofa for a final watch*

  • Comment number 57.

@ Oposotiv Im liking the focus group T.
Also fancy that commonly used phrase by Vamps.."Its complicated.."

  • Comment number 58.

    *gives up on youtube* well...

55-@ a0k666as last words go, the Snowmans Noooooooo should be on the list....sooo not big-bad ;)

  • Comment number 59.

    57-@doesitsay
Or maybe a shirt with "Doing the Fossey" on it...or maybe "Solves every plothole: Because that would just be weird..."

  • Comment number 60.

@58: Duly noted. Mr Snow's One Fatal Error: he didn't deactivate the bomb as soon as he got it away from Hal. (Annie could have telekinetically pushed the detonator even if the bomb had been moved away, but not reactivated it.)

And special Ironic Last Words award to Nick Cutler - "I always knew I'd be a History Maker!", then he gets skewered before he can do anything memorable. Only the New HH Trinity are likely to remember him, poor guy... always downtrodden, always ignored or humiliated or treated like an idiot. I feel *so* sorry for Cutler - have done since Ep2 ("BH1955"), and even more after Ep7. He just wanted to make a name for himself, and maybe get his unusual ability to keep up with modern thinking patterns recognised - end the days of "This is a distraction. You are a distraction. Now make my ****ing tea." Much as I liked him, though, I think he went thud *then* pfffff - just like Seth did...

  • Comment number 61.

27 - O+ You know, it's a funny thing this Blog - "It's all about Perceptions..." that's a common saying here in Britain. Do you perceive the Blog as being a bit quiet then O+?

Because over 600 comments have been posted on this Blog since Monday morning.

Name me any Blog in the world that could boast that. On a quiet day.

By the way, the full saying is: "It's about perceptions - not about truth"

UK peeps - there are only a few days left to watch BH on the 主播大秀 iplayer and I think it's time to order my DVD! Yay!

  • Comment number 62.

    @sasha @tree_hugger @kia_ora 鈥 thanks!
    Sasha 鈥 I owe you a drink 鈥 one day, I promise!
Have a few ideas of things to ponder over the next few weeks but always open to ideas and suggestions, anything to help tweak the imagination

I really want some BH merchandise 鈥 Herrick-in-the-attic styled jimjams are my first choice! This series has also made me think there鈥檚 a market for nice decanters and one shot stem glassware...

And add me to the Cutler did not go up in smoke list. He will rise... He may need a toupee and some ointment but I can sort that out

  • Comment number 63.

@59: Kirby was lying, so that only leaves one "That Would Just Be Weird": the Eves. And I think it was that or have Future Eve spend five minutes explaining a lot of intricate details.

  • Comment number 64.

How's everyone doing? Soooooo, what's the topic of discussion?

  • Comment number 65.

    61-@MancVamp
么.o I didn't mean in general, I meant it as "A while ago it was quiet here."
Jesus....did I p*ss you off or something? If I did, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to insult anyone.

  • Comment number 66.

    Hi there @Rob
    Uhm..worst last words, I think?

  • Comment number 67.

    men in grey and wyndham

on your list Ewan is there a mention of a police station

wyndham lied to george, they want her dead, they want you culled
mr snow was not in favour at all

    why the lie

  • Comment number 68.

I came to pay my respects to Annie/Lenora but commenting on her blog is disabled - after only a day and 201 comments! Why?

It feels a bit wrong to leave that kind of message here, in the middle of an ongoing discussion...

  • Comment number 69.

    Worst last words?
Oh it has to be Seth's! That little affronted "Owww..."-kind of grunt.

  • Comment number 70.

@67: Not a lie. Nobody knew at that point that Eve wasn't a werewolf.
@62: Oh blow the ban on writing scenes here -

[Interior of Barry Hospital burns ward - screaming can be heard from behind a curtain]
Nurse: [behind curtain] For goodness' sake Mr Cutler, it's only iodine!
    [snarl, brief bit of gurgling]
[sound of body being hidden under bed]
    [pause]
    [fizzling sound]
Cutler [behind curtain]: Ahhhhh, that's better. [pause] Why mirrors, of all things?... [rustling noises] AAAAAAAAHHHHH my HAIR! [whimpering, then ripping noises]
[Cutler shuffles out, wearing the nurse's scrubs and shoes, plus a pillowcase over his head with eyeholes cut out.]

    Couldn't resist, sorry :-)

Oh, I remembered another That's Just Weird - taking a crowbar along on walkies!

  • Comment number 71.

68 - I think the blog is just having problems. Don't think Annie's blog is closed for comments - or I would seriously hope not. We keep getting a green box telling us comments are availabe at the moment - or words to that effect. If you go back and try again, I'm sure it'll work.

Anyway, how are you m'dear. Not chatted for a while. Hope things are good with you! Mwah.........xxx

  • Comment number 74.

@69: I think it was more confused than affronted. This is SETH we're talking about - he used to point at planes.

  • Comment number 75.

Actually, what might Nina's last words have been?
I place my bet on something like this:
"Oh, sending a gorilla after me now are you? Really mature. Very civilized! [dripping with sarcasm] Honestly, you people make me so pi...."

  • Comment number 76.

74 a0k666 - Yes, dear little Seth! Not able to make a conclusion even if his unlife depended on it. Bless! (He might, however, have been a bit irritated by the fact that there would never be any more female chests to stare at. Ever.)

71 Sasha: Hello hun! No, RL has been more than a handful these last two months. Hardly any time left to obsess over important things like BH. I've lurked a few times to see what you've been up to, but there has been too many posts for me to keep track of. I've seen your name quite frequently, so I know that you've kept up the good work! Is there no way to lure you over to the Dark Side? If you should ever decide to pop by, you know where to find me!

    @lozzie

iT will not be said that the FIRST lab does not come to the rescue of such a simple request. I am sure we can do something

Firstly, since our resusrection of Wyndham, we have obtained a nice urn for Mitchell and we were going to rehydrate him when the order was cancelled by Miss Sawyer; no more needed. Got the real McCoy, thanks anyway. Beside, we can't complain, she did not raise a fuss about our policy regarding cancellation. Which is easy: once in our pockets, it stays.

Anyhow, Henry the Hoover was totally empty, when Cutler was Dysonized. This time, our dust was 100% certified Cutler, this is much important
the chromato-dusto-presto=wakingthedeado-grapher which operated on Wyndham has led to strange yet welcomed effects.

When we rehydrated Wyndham, we saw a beautiful lovely pod showing and we were glad to welcome a fully back in the pack human though believing himself to be living in the sixties in London' He has left since muttering about a mysterious white heat

imagine my surprise when I saw another pod growing, two edgar wyndham again set in the sixties, again human, this time he is muttering something about gently gently or my name is bacchus, john bacchus...

I think I should not have left my old collection of sean connery dvds playing by the shrubbery

but you will be pleased as we do not need to use the chromatographer, we should get only one nick cutler

but we are going probably to need two maybe three watering cans

    and B&Q prices are extortionate
plus the price of the primeval soup used to rehydrate

what you thought I was using water?
no I am using the first primeval soup

but that project is.... hush, I think I hear Helen coming...

That's another one to try and work into conversation: "My lunch fought back." Must have more fish for lunch - sooner or later I'll choke on a bone, that counts as lunch fighting back right?

@87: Tak is indeed Norwegian for thanks, I think - I know the Icelandic is "taak" (watched TV with Icelandic subtitles when on school trip once).

    Haha, that's brilliant!

Some BH merchandise I'd like to see:

    Plasters with "lunch fought back"

Shopping bags with "who'd have thought the Old Ones would be so difficult to shop for"

Anything with "as long as they know a werewolf baby's for life, not just for christmas"

89 a0k666 - Oh so she did say "takk"! I wasn't quite sure. The sound quality in my clip wasn't exactly top notch... (Icelandic for "thank you" is also "takk", and in Swedish "tack". Let's see if the mods let that one through!)

@90: yes yes! I want those plasters NOW.
@88: primeval soup is easy to get: collect it from under students' beds. They are a pizza-crust graveyard. (Not mine, though. Mine's a book storage area and Land of the Lost Handbags.)

She did say takk, but didn't sound to Norwegian (which is understandable), it was kind of like when Germans try to say "tack" (thank you in swedish, for the rest of you), if you've heard that? You know with kind of a longer A-sound? (again nothing weird with German speakers pronuncing it this way, as that the a-sound can be hard to reproduce if you don't have it in your native language). And she her intonation wasn't Norwegian (you know the way they "go up" at the end of a word making them sound happy).

    @90 I love
    Plasters with "lunch fought back"
    &
Shopping bags with "who'd have thought the Old Ones would be so difficult to shop for"

Oh, and I managed to sneak a BH quote into an email to my mum! (Complaining about my trouble with delayed rail services today - I titled the message "Train, train, bloody train!")

And Ep2 - one of the things that Tom says Eve could be is... a barrister! Dirty, *dirty* boy, Tom! Any more like that and the Rotten Tomato Squad will be round to mis-spell their graffiti on the door (maybe they're related to that tattooist?)...

    @93 and 95
Yes, I was quite happy with the idea of the plasters. I had some other ideas as well, but can't remember them right now.

How about a tea cup with "...it's been that kind of day!"
Not as funny as the rest but I sometimes just feel like that ^^
