    wow, OMG amazing episode again!!!

can't wait for series two now.....so many questions!!!

anyone else think the guy at the end could be 'death' coming to get annie?

  • Comment number 2.

forgot to say too, that the Vicar was an amazing little character - hope he gets to make a return in series 2 at some point. Infact there have been a few good 'minor' roles - the policeman with the forms was very funny with excellent comedic timing.

well done to everyone at being human again for an amazing series!

  • Comment number 3.

Wowser - I cheated this week and watched it online earlier today - I normally wait until it's on telly - but I just COULDN'T wait.

Great ending - didn't leave us on a normal cliffhanger, ie tied up enough loose ends, but also left some questions unanswered.

Was it just me or was anyone else waiting for Nina to turn into a mermaid when she got into the bath? lol I'm sure there's something supernatural about the scars she already had.

Bit disappointed that we didn't see a bit more of Herrick's demise though.

  • Comment number 4.

I thought the scene between Mitchell and Josie was just beautiful.

Ooooh, and good theory about Death, tartanpaint!

  • Comment number 5.

Incredible stuff. I reckon the guy at the end rang a professor, probably some eastern European/German supernatural academic looking for odd phenomena or a secret brotherhood intent on eradicating the world of ghosts, vampires and the lycantropic.

God I hate that this will take a year to resolve! Get going on series two!

  • Comment number 6.

Re Nina's scars: remember she had a quickie with George during his transformation? Maybe she's caught the werewolf from him?

  • Comment number 7.

    I love all of it!!
it was good to see a werewolf in full

Im very excited for next series! And Nina wooo!
    she'll have to tell George!

Grrrr I want to see it all now! I hate waiting for the episode oooow what shall i doo ! But nice to see then hair chest of Aiden! :P

    HELP!

  • Comment number 8.

and marginally hairy back of Aiden :-$

  • Comment number 9.

    Wow!!

Can we have series 2 already please??

I so did not expect that for Nina, i had a suspicion she already had a secret, or that maybe George had unknowingly given her those scars and that when she saw him change she would work it out (how twisted would that have been!) but i did not guess what actually happened at all!

The scene with Mitchell and Josie actually almost brought me to tears, and also the one where they're standing by the front door all crying and hugging and saying goodbye to each other!

Although the whole thing was awesome - and it was great to see Annie and George finally show their potential! - I'm actually quite disappointed that Herrick is now dead. He was just such a brilliant bad guy! But I don't think we've seen the last of the vampires, that girlfriend of Herrick's from the hospital canteen won't want to let them get away with it!

I'm also glad Owen wasn't more involved, I do think he's brilliant but I think he's played his part now... That man at the end... There are no words! :D

I want to watch it again now....

  • Comment number 10.

Ah, can I just say, to everyone who was involved in making this series ...

You guys ... you're amazing, you know that, don't you? Pretty bloomin' fabulous. How you got all of that amazing quality drama, emotion and story into an hour I do not know, but you did. It's what everyone pays their licence fee for, :D, Well done. I don't know how I'm able to sit here and write anything lucid - and perhaps I'm not, but I shall continue rabbiting on regardless.

I know I said in an earlier post that you really put us through the ringer, but I think this episode exceeded it in wringing(?) me in so many ways.

Had to do a complete double-take when that girl said "d'ya wanna see my ... " - just went "whaat?!?!?"

Argh, I'm sure I'll be writing more in a bit, but I just have to go and watch it again.

I wish I could be involved with something this brilliant and of such quality - it just inspires me to want to be a writer even more now, haha!

  • Comment number 11.

    Words very nearly fail me!

Utterly, totally, completely brilliant!! The tension built superbly as the episode unfolded, by half way through I was virtually falling off the sofa! And I bet I wasn't the only one crying half the time...the scene where George was saying goodbye to Mitchell & Annie was heartbreaking. Oh and Annie, kicking ass!!! Hurt my throat cheering her on! I guessed that George was going to transform and kill Herrick, but not that he'd send him to a different place to the one Mitchell was going.

Congratulations and huge, huge thanks to Russell, Lenora and Aidan, the writers and everyone who has made this fabulous series the absolute thrill ride that it has been. I am delighted to hear there will be more next year. Well done to everyone involved - if we ever find ourselves in the same bar the beers are on me!!

  • Comment number 12.

Hmm On the previous page I kept referring to the man at the end as the professor - but watching it gain I noticed he rings and then says - 'proffessor Jerrod' I think it is. Is he stating his own name? Or addressing the person on the other end of the line & he is just at the asylum to do the professors bidding.

  • Comment number 13.

OMG Wow, wow, wow! Fantastic story line brilliant acting just brilliant. Please say there will be more!

  • Comment number 14.

i also watched this yesterday but darent say too much in case i spoilt it!!

absolutely loved this ep, the nina twist i so wasnt expecting, and i knew hed scratched her, i was shouting at my screen haha!!

Annie kicking ass was amazing, George's talking about humanity made me cry, Mitchell's agony over needing to drink in the hospital was brilliantly done as well.

and cafe woman-sooo wasnt expecting that! that made me giggle, although something felt very wrong about Herrick and her kissing :)

Congrats to all involved with this show, its been amazing and were all now officially hooked. The script and the acting has been phenomenal, so well done. cannot wait til next series!

  • Comment number 15.

    bravo!!!!

loved it - very relieved that series 2 is on the way!!!

one thing: make it longer - 6 episodes are not enough!!

  • Comment number 16.

ooo and the nice shots of Aidan with no top on were most welcome-more please!

  • Comment number 17.

Oh and yes I noticed that Mitchell really is quite hairy, I think it was a little hypocritical of him making those comments about George having a hairy back in a previous episode! ;)

  • Comment number 18.

Amazing. Stunning. Heart-wrenching. Jaw-dropping. Soul-lifting. And over far, far too quickly. Encore, encore!

  • Comment number 19.

    It's over :(
In the words of George and Annie - "So what do I do now?????"

  • Comment number 20.

can't wait for the DVD now, I wonder what the extras will be!

  • Comment number 21.

Oh thank god theres another blog page was gettting tried of srolling down!!

Yes i wasnt expecting cafe girl either and that litte giggle just wrong. i think my friends in a coma now he hasnt sed any think since it finish

  • Comment number 22.

yeh, feeling a little lost now.

what on earth we gonna do til series 2??

  • Comment number 23.

weve always got thw blogs we were promised oh_suzi so at least we no we have something to look forward to. and is any else having probs with the new behind the sceanes its not working on mine

  • Comment number 24.

yeah, not working for me either - maybe too many are watching it cause it was advertised on TV?!

  • Comment number 25.

thnat should keep us going till the dvd any way

  • Comment number 26.

    i meant that

  • Comment number 27.

that shouldnt matter it wont even play anythink

  • Comment number 28.

any way should get an early night and im the only one talking

  • Comment number 29.

    What a fantastic episode!
The best programme on tv I hope the next series isn't too long coming

  • Comment number 30.

hmmm.....yeah it is pretty quiet around here, think everyone watched it yesterday, but i was sad enough to watch it twice, oh well.....

  • Comment number 31.

I can't get the new video to work either.

I wished I could watch it yesterday, I had to spend the whole day restraining myself from coming online because I can't get iplayer to work, it keeps freezing all the time and I knew I'd regret not waiting to watch it properly!

  • Comment number 32.

Completely off topic for a moment but I'm curious - does anyone know why some posts have to 'await moderation' and others don't?

  • Comment number 33.

no idea, think the other thread are having problems too.......over enthusiastic moderators!!!!

  • Comment number 34.

Just wanted to say how much I've enjoyed Being Human - the whole series. I think it was really well written and acted, tightly plotted (mostly) too and a really grown-up feel to it. Best Ö÷²¥´óÐã3 thing I've seen. Well done!

  • Comment number 35.

Thought it was absolutly brillo. OMG,what's next for George and Nina.

Is the guy at the end a mad scientist, if so may I refer you to an ep in series one of BWOC called 'Flugelhoff'(my first fandom and the reason for the wolf interest)

Something about that guy at the end(who was in E&E with David T, yes, noticed) that screamed to me
    'I am lackey'-
    Anyways, come on series 2:)

  • Comment number 36.

so BH the musical? anyone with me? I have a song for the opening scene -

    Annie tumbled down the stairs
    In her grey casual wear.
On the tiles she cracked her head.
    Death was not enough, instead,
    A ghost for all eternity
    making toast and making tea.

(stage directions - lots of WW1 soldiers jump out from behind trees and dry ice and spontaneously break into dance)

    Mitchell fighting for his country
    Took a biting. Munchy crunchy,
Slurped Herrick as he turned him,
    But Mitchell spurned him
    "There may be no returning,
but I will deal with the yearning."

So he did for several years,
But the lure of blood was always near.
    Lauren was a minor glitch
Nothing more than a scratched itch
No wonder she starts out as such a bitch
Vampires & safe sex just don't mix.

The third of our motley crew,
Squealy and shy with high IQ
Attacked by wolf, but it gets worse,
Now he's infected with a curse.
    Bent double every full moon
As his internal organs shrivell like a prune.
    Be wary he's not deceased,
    He's mutated into hairy beast.

The pink house keeps them safe and snug
Annie forever to wonder in those Uggs
    Mitchell looking HOT in leather
Lucky for us and them they came together
and George if its any consolation
we appreciate your nakedness after transformation

  • Comment number 37.

    loving the 1st series!

and for all the peeps up top going on about the scratchs on Ninas arm - she got them when he threw her off him during transformation in the basement with herrick

not sure bout the scars on her belly, but i dont think anything will come of those

so anyhow 2 werewolfs and gawd knows what else, Bring on Series 2!!

  • Comment number 38.

what can I say Im a lyrical genius!

    hmmmmmmmm maybe not

  • Comment number 39.

    lol, not bad!!!

BH writers take note..... i feel a future episode coming on!!!

  • Comment number 40.

Suzi you are actually mad lol made me laugh though.

Ok i feel like im about 13 saying this but seem as though everyone else is...yes mitchell in hospital shirtless - lovely once youve got over the initial sadness of whats happening and yeah what a hypocrite taking the mick out of george about having a hairy back ... but i doubt hes ever had any complaints :-)

    Ahem anyway the show.....
It says professor jarad on the subtitles and he says it as though hes adressing the person on the other end of the phone i dont think thats his name.
I quite like the idea of it being death to come for annie - i dont think she could just choose to stay forever? but im not sure if itd be a good idea to have 2 different metaphors for death? i think its either the door or the man im not sure it would work with it being both??

I think i still like the idea of it being someone from some sort of research centre i personally think thats the most believable at the minute but you never know with this show lol theyve mixed werewolves vampires and ghosts they could have all manner of wierd and wonderful creatures coming into series 2 and he could be anyone or anything thats the frustrating thing about it!! there seem to be no limits - we cant really completely rule anything out! :-(

  • Comment number 41.

Total genious! Wow what a series. Love it.
    Can't w8 for series 3.
    Excellent job guys x

  • Comment number 42.

    hmmm.....

i'm thinking though that he could be one of the 'men with sticks and rope' though and that since the door thing hasn't worked then they're going to have to come and get her themselves....

who knows, guess we'll have to wait until series two to find out...

  • Comment number 43.

Just got to say: Excellent series! One of the very few in the last couple of years I've gone out of my way to keep up to date with.

Expertly scripted, superb acting - both major and minor roles, and a gripping plot! Comedy was spot on - not too heavy but when it landed it hit the spot.

Roll on series 2 - you have a tall order to beat series 1!

    Bravo :-)

  • Comment number 44.

yeah it could be i suppose - the two would be linked then...

  • Comment number 45.

Can anyone tell what is graffitied on the wall in Owens interview room bit at the end? it says BH lol and what looks like gaza - i doubt very much its intrical to the plot but its just bugging me - my tv isnt big enough to read it lol and i dont have sky plus or anything so cant pause it

  • Comment number 46.

It couldnt be the guy who ran bernie over could it? Again not sure how it would fit in with the plot just trying to think of theories now and we never found out who it was and think its odd weve not heard anything about bernie so maybe its something to do with him?

  • Comment number 47.

That man at the end, I thinks he could be that vampire Mitchell said had settle in Bristol during the 1960s. Maybe he will take over the "vampires"

  • Comment number 48.

this is just too much i cant possibly wait any longer to see more of BH and its only been 4 hours. this has truly been the best thing on TV for ages. wonderful characters george is to die for bless him. very brave what he did for mitchell. for a minute there when georges girlfriend was running the bath plus those scars on her belly i thought wahey! could she be a mermaid but then i realised i really need some sleep. cant wait for series two miss it already. personally i think georges little miss im soooo innocent girlfriend has something abit more to do with all of this. anyway we definately need to see more of BEING HUMAN !!!!!

  • Comment number 49.

well its over the last amazing episode has come and gone.

what am i to do now but wright my review of the series.
witch will i think be one of my best.

its true to say i will have a lot of good things to say about being human and most of them if not all will be about russell tovey.

    @}--'--,--
    the rose is for russell

  • Comment number 50.

First off, the flashback was a very good idea, and set a good sense of the context to tie the whole series together.

In general I thought it was filmed very well, with a good gritty feel to it melded with a contemporary atmosphere - the music worked well throughout, particularly during Mitchell's rushed admission into hospital care.

My only criticisms are the scene where George and the vicar were standing in the hallway, and the werewolf scene. I thought the hallway scene would've worked better with strobe lighting in pitch black, to create more suspense. The advance of the vampires felt somewhat clunky and predictable.

The werewolf scene had much better suspense, but at the same time, felt restrained. Not to sound harsh, but for starters, the werewolf special effects weren't very good. There were frames where it looked more like a gorilla suit than anything else. I think the general art direction should have been away from being bipedal, with a more natural feel - it seems as though not much background research was put into actual wolves and their anatomy (thinking jaw, etc). I was kind of hoping as a viewer for the "chief vampire" to put up more of a fight, or at least to see some more action - I felt like I was just being tided over with gratuitous grisly sound effects.

I liked what was done with the plot direction, although I felt a little more depth would've worked with regards to George and Mitchell's "bond". I don't feel it's brought up any questions, there's just no material to work with. I'm glad the "he's actually his grandfather" cliché was avoided however, and hope that something clever is done to connect these two characters come series two.

Overall, thoroughly enjoyed it, well done.

  • Comment number 51.

    BH the musical, XD Oh_Suzie,
'stage directions - lots of WW1 soldiers jump out from behind trees and dry ice and spontaneously break into dance' XD Made on WIN
    nice one, v.funny,v.pythonesque

  • Comment number 52.

this is one of the best bbc tv i have seen for a long time worth the licence.. where did the writers come up with this fantastic situation?
    hays off to em..
    fantastic

  • Comment number 53.

To start with I thought the guy at the end might be a vampire. I.e. he is very pale, and there was Annie's ex speaking to him about whether or not he was safe. I was waiting to see if the guy suddenly lashed out and killed him or something, for knowing too much...

... now however I think he is probably a human who knows about the vampires (and probably the others too.) A member of an organization who hunts them maybe.

A bit of a cliche maybe, but it should actually provide an interesting little moral conflict when you bear in mind Mitchell, George and Annie are trying to be human, normal. And here are guys out to destroy them, considering them monsters.

  • Comment number 54.

agreed about who the guy at the end was calling regarding the 1960s old "is he still around or not?" vampire in bristol before herrick.

I'm very intruiged about Nina now! surely if she had been scratched by George she'd end up transforming later that night? would she not have done the night initially scratched?

  • Comment number 55.

Amazing series not seen anything this good since TLC!! Been discussing this episode for over an hour, so many possible theories!

Well here's some of our ideas! :)

First of all we disregard the idea of that old man being death, for a number of reasons, but if he was searching for Annie then why would he say, 'We've found THEM'?? (And why would 'death' report to Proffessor Jarad?)

Also thought of the legendary Van Helsing, possible extermination of supernatural beings?? or teaming along side Mitchell, George and Annie?? Not to keen on the idea of scientific research, prefer a 'holy battle' idea.

Another theory of ours was the head vampire looking for his lost army!

However, one theory that has us gripped, and has yet to of been mentioned, is that this 'proffesor' could infact be the head of the lycantrophics and the chance of a full on battle between age old enemies. The fight between Herrick and George may of just been a taste of whats to come!! The fact that when the old man questions Owen, all he asked for is whether Owen is clear when he mentions 'vampires', the old man is not phased by the thought of a werewolf or a ghost. When he says 'We've found THEM' this could mean the vampire's have been located. The menacing tone in his voice suggests that he is talking about an foe other than an ally.

The Vampires have had there day, is it now the turn of the lycantrophic uprising??

    Consider?

  • Comment number 56.

The guy at the end is referred to as 'Kemp' in the closing credits. He addresses 'Professor Jadat' on the phone. He seemed to be the most interested in whether the word vampire had actually been used when he was questioning Owen.
It would make sense that perhaps some organisation (covert government agency?!) is aware of the vampire plans to take over the world and are trying to locate Vampire HQ in order to stop them?!
    The big writing on the wall seems to spell;
    GAZA
    OV
    BH lll
    \WIMZ
Haven't got a clue what that could mean but it was in shot for a lot of the interview....curiouser and curiouser!
Also I wonder what the canteen-girl was up to under that table and what she was going on about with the whole 'blood of the ancestors' speech to Annie?!!
Really looking forward to Series 2 anyway! Had to laugh at the end when Mitchell suggested they might be safe now......as if?!!

  • Comment number 57.

Oooh also...I reckon that the reason George's werewolf calmed down when he saw Nina was because he sensed the werewolf in her!

  • Comment number 58.

amazing!! so many twists and turns, loved it,

fantastic job to the actors and crew, great job roll on with the next series! x x x

  • Comment number 59.

I cant wait for russell tovey to be back on the screen again.

sorry i mant i cant wait for being human to be back on the screen again.

  • Comment number 60.

It was ok I 'spose. It's been a fair to middlin' series throughout really. I mean, where was the guy with the big hat and green ovies cutting up human bodies and giving us an insight into the human body.......????

    Ahhhh....different programme!!!

Well 'Being Human' sure hit all the buttons for me. Comedy drama though...comedy anxious more like...I was so concerned with the characters and their wellbeing that I forgot to really enjoy it for what it was. A fantasy...Fantastic...I will gladly pay my licence fee if this gets served up in future...big hint there!

  • Comment number 61.

Wow, just some brilliant acting. Russell when he was crying, was just so heartbreaking.

Having said that this is the only episode where I have had issues, like how come Annie could open the door from the inside, surely that defeats the point of the locked room. And the transformation....still can't be frightened by a big rubber wolf thingy.

But all in all amazing. Cannot wait for the next series.

I haven't had time to read the 300 and odd comments about this episode so will come back and digest everything tonight.

  • Comment number 62.

Oh_suzi great song bye the way how long did that take to think up? and loved the stage dirctions.

AS we keep saying i think nina did transform because 1 it takes a while for the curse to spread and 2 because the moon was already up.

This series is truly the best thing on telly its even beaten heroes for me at he min! just great acting great writing just brillant everything im going to sorely miss it :(.

i really hope we dont have to wait too long but then again i want them to take there time and do a really good jod on it

  • Comment number 63.

I don't think I breathed hardly at all through that episode. MORE MORE MORE please

  • Comment number 64.

    i ment didnt transform

  • Comment number 65.

Re diamondwhiter; i think she was under the table playing with some pills. This could link with the previous ep' when Herrick took some pills at the funeral home. At the end in the dungeon he seemed to welcome death, did he have some kind of illness?

  • Comment number 66.

Never felt the need to do this before, but last nights episode and indeed the whole series has been excellent
This is why we need the Ö÷²¥´óÐã to remain intact as they are streets ahead of other british broadcasters
technically and in the standard of programmes they produce

Hd heaven bring on series 2

  • Comment number 67.

I'm going to have to agree with the werewolf looked like a man in a gorilla suit. Although, I do have to say it should be bipedal.

Look up, on youtube, werewolf the TV series. Its an old show (22 years old) with some still decent effects (compared to this day and age). It was my favorite show as a kid back home in America.

    Here is a tribute link:

Although a bit dated, some of it is, IMO, slightly better than a lot of the final werewolf effects on Being Human. Maybe it can give some inspiration.

Aside from that, I would have figured the boss vampire would have put up a fight. After all, they are vampires, and he as an elder, should have a significant amount of superhuman strength. It was a bit disappointing. Thats not to say I was looking for a dragged out, action oriented, slug-fest... just something more.

Now away from the ugly side from the post, I thought the writing and acting was fantastic. It really felt... well... real. The writing, further scored and accented by the topnotch acting made it feel like the end was coming. Hard choices, goodbyes, the bravery that comes with love of friends and those in need. It was touching and gave that slight moment of dulled reality, were it feels so real you can truly relate to the pain on the TV almost as though it was your own.

In particular, I liked George's line of: "Haven't you worked it out yet? Humanity, is about love and sacrifice, this doesn't rob me of my humanity - it proves it."

It was, as usual, fantastic dialog!

So, here's to series two, three, four, (hope I'm not getting ahead of myself) - I just hope you make a lot more episodes than 6 a season. I just hope by the time I head home, it will be on American TV as well.

  • Comment number 68.

    Two words: Loved. It. :-)

  • Comment number 69.

Wow, this show has been absolutely amazing - with every episode getting better and better. The tension and quality reached an all-time high when the scene in the basement - George's pain, courage and heartache (all at once) simply had me renched in my seat. All 3 actors did a fabulous job conveying the raw emotion of the scene - though I suppose like the others I would've liked to see Herrick put up a BIT more of a fight.

The scripting and acting in this show are absolutely brilliant and on par with any 'big' show on Ö÷²¥´óÐã1. I understand that Three is the home of the 'off-beat' shows the Ö÷²¥´óÐã makes, but seriously guys, isn't Being Human worthy of a more elevated place on the likes of Ö÷²¥´óÐã2 or even 1? Imagine the viewership if you could rival shows like 4's Skins!

I can't wait for Series 2. I'll tell you my favorite thing about this show - not only is it brilliantly acted, but it marries the wonderful 'supernatural' genre with comedy (seriously, some real 'laugh out loud' moments for me in Series 1), drama, a touch of romance...but there's always an underlying MESSAGE which is what makes this show work - what makes it powerful & gripping and viewers like me coming back for more and more.

  • Comment number 70.

Wow what can i say i have been hooked since i first saw the ads for it!! It's been addictive throughout and i cant wait for the next series, ppplllllleeeeeaaaasssseeee Ö÷²¥´óÐã hurry along with the next series, and i fully agree more than 6 episodes please!! Russell what a part you play, you became very brave fighting Herrik in the final battle! The writing on the wall in the asylum deffo has something to do with the next series i bet it starts back there!! Loving the series

  • Comment number 71.

Well done everyone for giving us an amazing series. I feel very sorry for those millions of people who have missed out on this gem because it was shown on bbc 3. I loved the last episode and have already pre ordered the dvd from amazon. Cant wait for sereies two. I can honestly say that this is one of the best things I have ever seen on television. The only thing i can compare it to is the brilliance of life on mars.

  • Comment number 72.

Congratulations on six hours or excellent television.

And, as no-one else has mentioned it yet, a tip of the hat to the scheduler on Ö÷²¥´óÐã3 who thought of putting on The Curse of the Were-Rabbit as a lead-in, inspired choice!

    (takes deep breath) NNOOOOOO!!!
Can't believe its over!! what an amazing episode, well done to the cast for some superb acting, i was glued to the screen.
As deliciously evil Henrick was, i hope i'm not the only one who's going to miss that character in series 2.

    Loving Annie's powers!
So many questions answered and yet so many raised at the end!
How long before series 2 is on our screens?

Oh no, oh help. I am bereft, I'm lost, I'm totally without a cause. Being Human was truly the cleverest, wittiest most endearing series I have ever seen - and you went and made only 6 of them.

Don't give me all this rubbish about there being a next series - that's like telling a vampire he can have a bit of blood next year.

WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO UNTIL THEN???!!!

Seriously - many, many congratulations to EVERYONE cast, props, lighting, locations, costumes, casting (brilliant casting) writers and directors - I have absolutely loved every second of this show. There hasn't been a moment of wall paper - every frame is a visual or verbal treat.

    Awesome.

And now I'm going back to bed until you have the decency to hurry up and give us the next one....

When Nina is sitting on the edge of the bath at the end and rolling up her sleeve, if you look carefully you can see that the fabric of the sleeve has cuts in it which suggests to me that she was scratched whilst wearing that top - i.e. by George when she burst into the isolation room and not when they were getting jiggy! You don't see him scratch her but he certainly makes contact with her as she is pretty much thrown against the wall. The question is that, as George wasn't completely transformed at that point would this still turn Nina into a werewolf??

What an episode! After spending about 50 minutes in absolute dread, terrified that either Mitchell, Annie or George would 'leave', what a relief to see the gang still intact at the end of the episode- for now! I'm really looking forward to when Series One comes out on DVD- and to Series Two, now that it's been confirmed! I wonder if we'll see any new 'supernaturals' next time round?
Thanks so much to all the cast and crew for all your hard work in making Being Human the wicked show it is. What a brilliant series, wonderfully written and fantastically acted. I'm going to really miss it now it's ended.

Have pre-ordered my copy of series 1. (Due for release on 20/04/2009.)

    Do it to :-

A brilliantly dramatic episode though I thought there could have been a bit more humour. Loved the ending which I'm sure will set up series 2 nicely. I'm not even going to guess who the man talking to owen was because knowing this series they'll throw us a complete curveball. Execellent work by everyone involved and if the tone is kept the same in series 2 we'll have no worries.
Shame Herrik was killed as I thought he was one of the best characters with his wit and easy going nature.

maybe the 'professor' is a Wizard (in a Dumbledore kinda way) - they could exist in BH land - Mitchell's ex seemed to think they were about???

  • Comment number 80.

That was a rather brilliant episode, I'd probably say the best of the series. The only problem I have with it is how 'Mercy' was playing in the cafe but it wasn't released until a year after the scene takes place.

But other than that, amazing. And OMG Nina! George what have you done? But what are the scars on her tummy? Mystery...

  • Comment number 81.

Is it just me or were the spooky voices saying "help me" to Annie?? Is that her new job now after dingying death....to help all the lost souls then maybe the door will come back???

Hang about....minor brainwave....if George (wolf) fed on Herrick in the dungeon will that make him a werevamp?? Does he need to get bitten by one first or what? I love the fact he recognised Nina thru the spyglass...love/humanity conquers all! :)

  • Comment number 83.

As far as George becoming a were-vamp type thing lol - as far as i can understand from what Toby said on last blog - its about the exchange of blood therefore unless Herrick had fed on him first i dont think its gonna happen.

Everyone speculating about Nina getting scratched when he wasnt fully transformed I personally dont think it mattered - Like someone (sorry cant remember who) said - its in his DNA its in every cell (however Toby did say that when he is human technically he could have human babies lol so dont quite know how that works!) I guess we cant really be scientific about it can we :-( its all myth and legend and supernatural and not at all scientific lol however, going purely on the show and on the way it was put together...
George says there must have been something, a connection, something he recognized that made him stop wanting to hurt her - and as he says this nina is revealing the cuts so that kind of implies that that was the reason - the cuts - the fact that she was a werewolf too was the reason - that was what he recognized. Personally (apologies to everyone whos said it!!) but i think the theory that he just recognized nina and love conquers all etc etc is just a bit too mushy and cliche for the reality of the being human world! And obviouisly thats what George believes and when hes saying it at the end the music and the tone of the scene - well it isnt a happy one - it kind of tells us hes wrong.

God what a load of waffle again - apologies lol but think it makes sense :-S

Was on the edge of my seat the entire series, and the final episode definitely lived up to expectations.
One thing I didn't get was during the showdown between George and Herrick at first they needed to open the door from the inside (which isn't how it was before) but then Nina was able to open it easily from the outside?

I adored the scenes with Vicar :) I found myself cracking up at the first exchange with George at the hospital.

Annie at the funeral parlor was kick-ass!

OMG about Nina because I think the scratches on her arm do mean she's now infected. But it goes back to what George said about how being human means love and sacrifice. No matter how much George tried to push her away to protect her, she gave up her chance at 'normal' to be with him. I can't wait for series 2 :)

  • Comment number 85.

Good theory on the guy at the end-but i'm not convinced that door was for Annie anyway...it was too masculine?
Where do Nina's scars come from?, and why was she so calm when she watched George transform? Please please don't let her be a plant?
If George hadn't fully transformed when he marked Nina's arm, what will she become?
What about the undertakers, the girl in the canteen, the priest????
OMG so many questions - please don't leave series 2 too long- my head will explode!

  • Comment number 86.

OMG! what a blast that was epic. i can't believe geroge stood up for mitchell. and nina oh god nina she is a werewolf that is brill in someways as i have a passion for werewolfs but its bad because george will be very upset. can't wait till next series!!! can you tell us when the next series starts plz?
well thx 2 all the cast and crew

    1. Ep 1 I was bracing my self for a rubbish wolf costume, because it seems almost impossible to make a convincing one, especially with out lots of CGI.
But I was pleasantly surprised - not quite right as the first time we saw the wolfy face I actually jumped with fright. I thought it was a pretty good effort though. I like the face best they've definately got the evil wild beast look right sort of nasty rat/bore/wolf look. And I liked being able to see nearly all the transformation. It's not 100% convinicing but I am willing to suspend belief as the show is just so great.

Also top marks to Russell to keep that speech very moving and not dribbling and slurring his words cause of those giant teeth.

I loved this series. It had some brilliant acting and writing, even the secondary roles had some great moments.
I can't wait to see what will happen in Series 2.

  • Comment number 89.

I can't actually believe how good it was. Especially loved the George/Herrick part and it was so sad when George and Mitchell hugged goodbye. It even melted my icey heart. Great stuff!

Wolf door - Did it not always lock from the inside? So that no one could get in when he was in wolf form by accident. George can't open it when he is in wolf form, but he can let himself out in the morning.

Fight scene George locks door from inside so he & herrick are in. Annie and Mitch are out.
Annie jaunts in and unlocks the door to let Mitchell in.
Mitchell and Annie both walk out close the door but they cant lock it as they are now on the outside.
Nina goes arrrgh george is in their shouting I must save him thus she pushes open the unlocked door.

    Hey Presto, Bobs your uncle,
Mitchells your lover from 40 years ago, Ninas a wearwolf

  • Comment number 91.

Quick say something religious - CHRIST!

  • Comment number 92.

The door used to be locked from the outside - i think it has both on it to be honest but in the pilot when George and his ex get locked in he cant unlock it from the inside and annie has to come get them out because Mitchell used to lock him in - make sure the wolf couldnt unlock it in any way and then he came back in the morning to let George out.

  • Comment number 93.

Lol i loved that bit - hes a vicar and all the religious - ness he could muster was christ! lol i loved him he was hilarious.

"jewish people pray - ive seen yentl" lol

Oh and as for nina being so calm whilst watching george transform i think it was shock!!

I don't think its too cliche the concept of love or humanity being big otherwise George wouldn;t have done his big speech to Herrick about how what he was doing proved his humanity. It was this action to prove his humanity and his belief in doing such that finally made Herrick look scared. 'Belief' and 'symbolism' look important, just look at how George's star affects that bad guys.... its his belief in it/connection to him that is powerful..

    *rant over* lol

I am mortified that iPlayer only holds programmes for a short length of time; if it was another well known channel's player, we could continue to watch series 1 again and again until the next series appears. There is going to be a horrible gap between series 1 disappearing from iPlayer and appearing on DVD.

  • Comment number 97.

This is me going off on a tangent...but....dogs stare each other out to prove alpha male stuff...so...if Nina and George stared (unintentionally, just fixated) after she'd been scratched, then he walked off does that mean she's the stronger one?
It can't be enough that he recognised she was a werewolf n left her alone cos look what he did to Tully. I'm just rambling on a tangent...

I agree sperkii :-( but i guess they were worried people wouldnt buy the dvds. i cant even watch them online i can only download them and watch that way so havent seen the first few episodes for weeks.

By the way i noticed the other night watching episode 6 - the still at the top of the "episdode 5 now online" page is actually a still from episode 6 not 5 isnt it.
