Just seen the video last series it was a play together kind of thing this time all pictures with the script at the bottom still love the sound effects

very interesting - some of the boards looked bloodier than the end result? Did I read somewhere that they skirted close to BB3 limits for horror/blood with this scene?
would be good to know the interplay between the director's vision and the storyboarder's?

I'm a bit intrigued by the bleeding eyes. A shame we didn't see it in the episode

The storyboards were much more gory than the finished series...can u imagine if we actually saw what they'd drawn? We'd not sleep for a week lol .... interesting to see how they did it, they don't hold back! When I saw the drawing of Annie I didn't recognise her...thought it was Mitchell at first til I realised the hair was too long..ooops.

This seems quite detailed story boarding I wonder if they only do this much detail for the scenes with lots of special effects - they had 2 transformations and a disintegration all to fit into 3 minutes!! must be a nightmare for the prosethic/special effects guys.

what's wrong with bleeding eyes?

8 -how would they do that?! seen it done anywhere?

14 - BH do that really well - cutting between different scenes - lots of layers playing against each other. Im thinking the storyboarding must really help make visual links between the scenes - which then helps the editing?

16 - fake eyes and make up cover the eyes and then put tubes down then make up over them and there you have bleeding eyes?

DW Waters of Mars made water spout out of their faces so I suspect you can do it with articfical blood too!!

They were right the sound effects were really intense. More-so without the live images. I wonder what it would be like to just listen to a whole episode?

27 - not complaining but it was like you were using it as a blog while waiting for this one to appear

28 - DW the child in a gas mask episode can't remember the name but there was a bit on the sound effects when the faces turned into masks and how the sounds made it cooler

My DVDs also havent arrived yet which is probably just as well - wont get anything done when they do. I cant decide rewatching (I still have all eps on my box) whether ep 7 or 8 is my favourite - but it's between them 2 - with ep 6 close behind - oh and ep1 too...Maybe the DVD will help?

Oh well, can't see it, but at least I get to read about it..

Ive got series 2 on my box also and my favourites are 6.7 and 8. I also like episode 2 with Carl. I'd like to know more about him and Mitchell.

DS - yes I liked that one with Carl too - Mumford & Sons prob my favourite commercial track. And the incidental best is the bit in the facility - Mitchell on the floor after Annie goes - tolling bell and jagged guitars !!

Personally I love Bat for Lashes, her music fits BH so well, but Sleep Alone was perfect for when Lucy left Mitchell in bed (idiot) to go to the hospital chapel and Mitchell went home, alone, covered in the police chiefs blood.

well I always liked the first episode myself. where Nina's reveal was done just right confides in Annie Mitchell finds out and the stress gets to Nina and George finds out.

it seemed to me that in the beginning it was alot of chamber scenes but towards the end it seems there was a bit of a clue in there for series 3 with nina and george in the woods mentioned and then 'the last type 3' quote in the end'.

Think I may have missed most of you, been busy reading the writing on the pub wall.... But anyone who's left, hello :)

Anyway, the storyboard is interesting to see. Agree with some of the earlier comments, that the bit in the chamber did seem particularly bloody on the storyboard, when compared to the scene that was finally aired! I was a bit "yuck" when I watched the episode, so I'm kind of glad they didn't make it so bloody.

As for the DVD, I am hoping mine will come tomorrow, but I'm not holding my breath!

Yay, new Blog! God, these are a bit gruesome, as much as the real thing probably. Without the moving pictures, you concentrate more on the sounds. Poor old Galvin, that was even more painful than his normal transformation, he was actually begging them to let him change.

Thanks BHP for the new blog! I needed something good to happen today. I just got my 5 year old to sleep after spending 5 hours in urgent care with him.

From everybody's comments it sounds like another great blog. Wish I could see or maybe more appropriately hear it. Then again maybe its just as well I can't. I've had enough gruesome for tonight.
