After ten days of messages from the other side, Annie's verdict has finally appeared on The Annie Broadcasts page... They're sending her to hell.

Comments

  • Comment number 1.

    Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!
Although I'm guessing it will be easier for Mitchell to rescue Annie from Hell....I hope.

    Thankyou so much BH team
    xx

  • Comment number 2.

How can they send poor Annie to hell?!!!!! Guess she's in purgatory now, well, for the mean time.

Mitchell needs to hurry up & rescue her before they send her downstairs!!!

These broadcasts have been amazing!! Thank you soooooo so much =)

  • Comment number 3.

well that hardly seems fair! Oh the injustice; if I weren't about to serve up dinner I'd get really angry right now... no I am really angry. That is so wrong!

But could she have asked for Mitchell any more than that?! I can't wait for him to save her... she clearly remembers enough to know that George would only stand an ice-cubes chance...!!! Mmmm Mitchell being all courageous...

Dinner. Now. Mitchell is tastier but he won't keep me alive...

  • Comment number 4.

HELL if there is one soul that does not deserve hell it's Annie.

A room locked away from everything. EVERYTHING this is not about justice or fairness this is about fear and the men behind the door should fear as soon they will know what it means. Come on Mitchell Keep the faith Annie and fight.

  • Comment number 5.

24 days that's how long based on last years broadcast dates there is left.

24 days to fret and fear for Annie and what might become of her.

24 days of horror misery and woe.

surly a trailer is not too much to ask for?

  • Comment number 6.

I bet this is all over kemp just becuase she dragged one teeny little evil priest through a door she goes to hell how unfair!

  • Comment number 7.

Wow. I mean wow. This makes my heart go! It's so unfair on her. I bet you're right shannon-star about it being because of the Kemp thing. I really cannot wait for this next series.
    Bring on next year already!

  • Comment number 8.

    Horrendous!! Annie!!!! Poor Annie! :(
Lenora was ace, the vids were ace, Being Human ace. Ace.

  • Comment number 9.

    OMG!!!!!!
Moment of panick couldn't remember my password deeeeer!!!
I really don't want to die after seeing this they don't play fair on the otherside and it looks boring think I'd rather be a Vampire anyway.
Poor Annie you break one rule to save your friends and its held against you for eternity me thinks not. When fate put our favorite Ghost,Vampire & Werewolf together a mould was broken and so were the rules. Come on hot one get that swagger on the go and get our girl back (let me know if there's anything I can do to help ;o) I know any excuse said enit)

  • Comment number 10.

NB. Annie is going to hell - we call that Twickenham. She'll be easily rescued from there.

    Tom in Oz

  • Comment number 11.

You know I love Being Human, right? It has been a special find in my old age - a TV show that finally delivers all the right elements of drama, pathos, humour and has a credible sci-fi story line, a wonderful cast etc...

HRH Toby wrote these #Annie vignettes to keep us glued to the same bat channel, same bat time...they will presumably be left out of the first episode of season three and we'll just get an edited slice of "the verdict."

I could go on about how I have not been enthused by these extra vid clips but I won't because Barry Pilling *bless his little cotton socks* has explained they were necessary to warm us up for the fun and excitement ahead.

Click link to read exchanges on Twitter:

The anticipation is mounting with fans so let us all hope the payload comes spectacularly crashing onto out TV sets soon.

    * I have lived my dream * I have been to the mountain top*

I made it to Bristol to see the pink house and made it to Barry island to visit the Fry's house...not bad for a boy from Oz!

    Tom in Oz

  • Comment number 12.

NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!! I havn't seen the vid yet but just the name scares me

  • Comment number 13.

It's up on you tube so breath in breath out and prepare yourself for Trauma

  • Comment number 14.

    It really is traumatic:(
But we can safely assume she is rescued though, right?
I reckon it will be pretty near the start of the series, maybe even end of ep 1 (wishful thinking, I know). But if this series is getting back to the relationships the beautiful ones have then she'll need to be back soon.
    Ugggh! I love it!!

  • Comment number 15.

    !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Oh my... poor Annie! :'(

  • Comment number 16.

That is a lot of exclamation points.

Still say the decision is more based on fear than anything else.
They fear her so seek to contain her.
    Big mistake.

  • Comment number 17.

OMG poor Annie, that is so not right!

These broadcasts have been really incredible, dramatic, and frightening. Thanks Lord Toby, BHProduction, and Lenora for doing these and really wetting the appetite for the upcoming series.

  • Comment number 18.

Caught up on the messages in one go and find this!

    No......not possible.....the injustice.......the horror......

'they' don't lock the door, 'they' let her send the messages??
So there will be a way out of this, and Annie will be back with the boys soon, my guess by the end of ep 1, and she will be strong. Keep the faith.
God knows what awaits Mitchell on the way to hell though.
Can we just skip Christmas and go straight to January? And huge congrats to Lenora.

  • Comment number 19.

NO! Finally saw it, couldn't watch it before because my school blocked youtube. Poor Annie! Mitchel hurry up and rescue her!!!

  • Comment number 20.

If Annie's going to hell, I stand no chance :(

You have to admit though, if Mitchell is going to rescue her, it will be so much cooler for him to go through hell than heaven.

  • Comment number 21.

horrible thought - but makes sense from Lord Toby's point of view. Annie was ready to pass on - couldn't face more of life without life - but if she now knows the option is hell? she'd really want to come back and stay?
So cue Mitchell the saviour - who'll she'll be so pleased to see - well until she finds out what he's done - lots of lovely tension piled on tension!

  • Comment number 22.

I still hint at the fact we've all gone through such an emotional event with Annie that the only thing that might help alleviate all this sorrow we are going through is a trailer.

really a trailer would help us all.

  • Comment number 23.

Awww... So upsetting. I find it interesting - the last 2 seasons (series) started on a happy note - things were good and everyone was having a good time; Of course, things got worse from there.
BH3 is starting in the darkest of places - terrible angst and anxiety! Will it end in a good and happy place?
I guess they are trying to lure our favorite trying-to-be-good bad boy into hell. I find myself wondering if Herrick has something to do with it. Perhaps he has an in with the devil. Perhaps he wants retribution and getting Mitchell to hell is a good way to go. And what will happen with our moon-loving pups when Herrick shows up. I feel like this series is going to be far more intense and un-nerving. I just can't wait to see it!

  • Comment number 24.

PS - #18 I agree - Who needs Christmas... January can't get here soon enough!

  • Comment number 25.

Echoing everyone else on the standard of these broadcasts. Props to all concerned.

I'm loving, if that's the right word, this vision of the Afterlife. To me it's an extension of everything encompassed by 'Being Human'. The people running Purgatory and the methods they use are very clearly human rather than those of a compassionate 'higher being', the vision we traditionally have and wish for.

The things we detest so much about our modern world - slavery to bureaucracy, depersonalisation and lack of freedom - are portrayed here as the constructs of Hell. Are these the aspects of humanity that continue in the next world or merely the place Annie is in? Very clever writing.

  • Comment number 26.

so well put ishbel! - Lord Toby clearly has issues with bureaucrats. Maybe it was that parking ticket?

  • Comment number 27.

Oh Tom in Oz I love your Twickenham joke! Our rubbish England team didn't manage to beat the Aussies did we?! How poo must you lot have been? Maybe you were fielding your cricket team that day... How are the ashes going down there?

Annie is the loveliest, warmest, most kind, caring, *good* one in the bunch. Hell is not the place for her; but they've proper sussed out how to make her hell hellish through isolating her from all human comfort and love.

PS Tom: if they've stuck her at the top of the upper tier at Twickenham, she could be there a while. I almost passed out trying to get to seats there! Certainly had to stop for a ten minute rest on the stairs... if Mitchell has to do that he could get attacked by his train friends!! I wouldn't go there even to save Annie. I don't care whose going to beat who. I don't do the Twickenham upper tier.

  • Comment number 28.

Great comments all round people. Getting deep, and I love that BH inspires that!
Perhaps we've missed the biggest hint - it's the cats, don't trust them.
And if January is not already enticing enough, then for AT fans, Beeb4, 9pm, 19th Jan - 'Hattie'.

  • Comment number 29.

Thank goodness I got to see lovely Annie on YouTube, and now she's going to hell - no no no NO!! Seems like BH3 is going to hit the ground running, fast and hard.
I saw the Hattie announcement too, looks juicy! And I'll see anything Ruth Jones does.
    /pressoffice/proginfo/tv/2011/wk3/wed.shtml

  • Comment number 30.

Celticgrace (21) - To be fair, there'd not be much point in rescuing her if her punishment was to sit on a nice fluffy cloud playing a harp and eating grapes.

The idea of purgatory means(in my cynical world) "A non-scriptural, medieval device to extract money from your parishioners by scaring the pants off them" It was a place to punish people for the sins they committed while they were alive. But Annie's verdict seems to be more of a punishment for the things she did after her death. Verily I say unto you, brothers and sisters, Lord Toby hath indeed a very strange view of religion.

  • Comment number 31.

    Noooooooo Poor Annie!
Mitchell Really Really Need To Hurry Up With Saving Her!!

  • Comment number 32.

Haha...am loving this blog! I always did but it's got better and better. Loving the remarks by Deathrattle, Ishbel, Warwickshire_Rose and Celtic...thought-provoking and funny.

Still think the men with sticks and ropes have managed to, er, kill two birds with one stone by getting Annie and now using her as bait to get Mitchell.

Lia is a bit of a mystery. Can't help thinking she's a sulky ghost/angel type...intriguing to figure out how Mitchell even starts looking how to get to the other side, so thinking that he must either 'find' Lia by accident or she accidentally finds him out or seeks him out for reasons of her own.

Being Human 4 is a MUST!!!!

Cynnyc: Thank you so much for your Hattie heads up...not had internet connection for a couple of days and came back to that news..lovely!

  • Comment number 33.

NOOOOOO!!!!!! Annie!!!! Mitchell is so going to save her...he has to!

    Doesn't he?

  • Comment number 34.

    Thanks Anglo (32)
I'm an Anglican Reader so I had to undergo three years of theological training. You'd be amazed at the odd things you learn - and also amazed that the things some Christian denominations think and get up to which aren't actually biblical. Purgatory was a fiddle by the church which put people in an "intermediate state" between life and heaven. Basically, it was a way of extracting money to "buy" a number of years off the punishment for your sin, either by the person themselves before they die or, by the person's family after death by paying a priest to perform a number of masses for the dead. Many Jews also believe that some form of "after death purification" is possible and the Christian church borrowed the concept and expanded it.

You could also earn time out from Purgatory by going on that well-known medieval money-spinner of going on pilgrimage. Visiting the relics of the Castle Church in Wittenburg, on whose doors Martin Luther nailed his 95 Theses (thus provoking the Reformation) were said to earn a remission of 1,902,202 years and 270 days! Yep - somebody actually worked that out!!!!

  • Comment number 35.

Ewan, I'm suprised you're the only one saying they're isolating her because they're afraid of her -- that was my first thought!

It's not about the good and bad things she did in her life. It's all about keeping their hold on the process, and Annie has been a threat to that from the beginning. Even before these broadcasts, I've been thinking more and more that something is rotten in the state of Purgatory/Limbo/whatever you want to call the region on the immediate other side of the door.

The inmates have taken over the asylum, and Whoever/Whatever is in charge of what lies beyond that sliver of the eternal realm either hasn't noticed or hasn't been able to fix it. Maybe it's up to those who are oppressed there to rise up and do something about it...

  • Comment number 36.

Just caught up with the last two Annie broadcasts ...not surprised at the 'verdict'.....agree with those who think that Annie is feared because of her power (don't think she yet fully understand how powerful she really is)..she is feared so much they have to build a 'special' room to lock her away.

Great writing Toby and fantastic acting Lenora...no wonder you felt emotionally drained by it all. And splendid editing Mr P!

  • Comment number 37.

This is deeply upsetting! I'm sitting in a coffee shop watching this on my laptop and stifling a cry, lump in my throat. This experience is going to have a profound effect on Annie, I hope it doesn't destroy the fun-loving Annie we have grown to love - the new season will be very dark without her.

  • Comment number 38.

Just catching up and horrendous. More worrying if she's going to hell I stand no chance.
    But
    then there is Mitchell.

  • Comment number 39.

Glad to see that there are at least two out there who agree with me WilliQueen and Dorina

Some good news according to news on twitter from Mr P the first (smaller) trailers are coming soon - no date yet but soon

Oh and talking of the man himself don't forget to catch Mr P on being human and becoming human

  • Comment number 40.

Had a thought about possible screening how to make it slightly more financially feasible (yes the words turn to ashes in my mouth) But isn't it cheaper to rent somewhere in Wales? Just putting it out there to those in charge.

  • Comment number 41.

intriguing that a number of bloggers think the men with ropes and sticks might be using Annie as bait to get Mitchell? I cant think of any other evidence that they want to get M or any of the other vampires - I may have missed it. Have they tried over the last 116 years?

The vamps have all cheated death - tho not in same way as ghosts - could their journey still be completed now - a second death?

They do usually live for ever but even apart from George "killing" Herrick - and the fire - there are other references to them passing on- eg Carl said he thought it might "be time". I think Mitchell said something like "youre not ready"?

Sad thoughts for a merry christmas - but looks like Annie wont be having one of those!

  • Comment number 42.

Here's a question did anyone else see Jason Watkins in Dirk Gently last night?

  • Comment number 43.

Oft that was a corker! Leonora is such a great actress! And my god, Mitchell better get his act together and get into gear!

    So close....

  • Comment number 44.

Ah epic fail, I meant Lenora!! :S

  • Comment number 45.

Hello All. Of course it's possible that Annie actually saves herself. Or finds her strength in helping Mitchell face a kind of hell (facing the Box Tunnel 20? and if so is Lia one of his victims? Agree with #41 that the men behind the doors themselves haven't shown any interest in vamps before). Or they save each other. I wouldn't like to think that this part of Annie's story concludes with her as a damsel in distress waiting passively for rescue - not BH's style!
Whatever happens we can all agree it won't be anything obvious. That's why we love Toby, brilliantly bonkers as his imagination is. And why speculation is fun. More blog fun on it's way I'm sure.
Looking forward to just sitting back now and letting the story unfold. It will be a wild ride! Not long now.....

  • Comment number 46.

ewan, I did, shame he didn't get to do much

  • Comment number 47.

It all comes down to fear. The men fear what she is / will become so it is quite possible she has the strength to tip the scales towards freedom that's why they want to lock her away, so fear is the point. however to access her strenght she will need an emotional stimulus - Mitchell in danger? as he came to save her, his peril forces her to act general prodding buttock ensues and relocation of sticks ropes and forms.

Also to Elly if there is a series you know from the exchanges that he and Dirk have a relationship so that could be expanded as could his role.

  • Comment number 48.

Hi Ewan. Sounds like we are starting from slightly different angles, but heading towards the same sort of conclusion. Bet we're completely wrong. I love your buttock prodding scenario!

  • Comment number 49.

If we were right then it wouldn't be as much fun now would it.

  • Comment number 50.

Completely agree. I want to be surprised. Speculation over and out (for now).

  • Comment number 51.

It doesn't seem likely that they should be sending Annie to hell. I can't understand it.
I have allways loved the series, but right now I'm a little irritated at Toby Whithouse for doing this to Annie! I can't se the logic in this!

  • Comment number 52.

Thank you BH. These broadcasts of Annie's have been extremely moving. I just don't know what else to say.

  • Comment number 53.

    (30) deathrattle, I see your point.
Of course it wouldn't be much point in rescuing Annie if she was in heaven.
And I also think that Toby Withouse has a very strange view of religion. That shouldn't really surprise me, though. We have seen examples of that in the series already, and I have been totally fine with that. :) But where is God in this? If someone is deciding where Annie is going, shouldn't that be God?

    (25) Ishbel_haf, (26) celticgrace, Maybe this is Tobys way to get out some of his anger towards bureaucrats. ;) I don't know, but as Ishbel_haf wrote, this seems like a very human way to do things, and not like it had anything to do with a compassionate 'higher being'.

  • Comment number 54.

I've been thinking that if mitchel has to rescue her, firstly there would be no point in rescueing her if she was in heaven and secondly, if annie did need rescueing from heaven, I don't think that mitchel would exactly be able to get into heaven to rescue her with all the murders he has commited

  • Comment number 55.

Caught up with the last broadcast (sorry but didn't bother with the middle ones)and completely agree with the above posts that this is a act of revenge/fear on the part of the men with sticks for Annie breaking their rules (both refusing her door and grabbing Kemp). But the big question for me is what does she come back as??? will she still be a ghost? if so will she still be dodging doors for eternity knowing hell is waiting? or can Mitchell extract her 'bodily' in some way..... if she is just going back to the 'no feeling scream of eternity' then Annie's sanity must be in danger :(

  • Comment number 56.

Glad to see there is someone else who sees the fear.after all if they are that bureaucratic they would have forms for every eventuality.

Now when Annie grabbed Kemp the phrase 'They don't have forms for that' was used. Now there's the fear. we saw how they worked in season 2 trying to get Annie through the visual and secondary spirits but they had no corporal - relativity speaking - strength them selves but Annie was able to pass through the door physically yank Kemp to hell.

Now a too a bunch of bureaucratic self promoted order loving types. A Ghost that could do things they can't could either be a threat or an ally. However Annie has proven to be a free thinker and filled with empathy for her friends so. Threat, the delay was them trying to think of a way to contain her that's what took them time to reach a decision that and Mitchell breaking down the doors.

Hopefully this will help others realise they fear her. Maybe Annie will realise that too but will she in time?

Hopefully soon we shall find out, maybe we'll find out when before Christmas.

  • Comment number 57.

    (54) 79sars79, I guess it's possible that Mitchell would have a hard time getting into heaven, with all the murders he has committed. Good point. ;)
I can see that this probably has to happen if the story is going in the direction of Mitchell saving her, and getting her back from the other side. But I really think we should get a good explanation in the first episode of season 3, for why Annie is send to hell!
Even if this is the best way to get the story moving forward, it doesn't give us the answer to why Annie is going to hell. For me it has to be more than an act of revenge/fear on the part of the men with sticks and ropes. She still has a pure heart, why has that been overlooked? And she grabbed Kemp to save the others. It wasn't an evil act. That has to count for something. Hmmm.... I guess I'm still mad at Toby Whithouse for this!

  • Comment number 58.

Important information Being human teaser trailers this week on Ö÷²¥´óÐã three this means that all those who know how to put them on youtube from the TV you have a lot of people counting on you.

Also thoughts about DVD for new season 4 discs 3 BH 1 BcH maybe? or separate BcH disc options options so many options.

  • Comment number 59.

I'm feeling so lame now reading all your super-smart comments.
    You guys are really brilliant.

Poor Annie, hell is definitely for the Kemp thing, and maybe turning down death three or four times. Angry little bureaucrats of the afterlife don't like you to mess with their forms and stamps.

And it also sounds like they're building hell only for her, somehow.

  • Comment number 60.

    (59) It does seem like that. The room she talked about was built just for her, and they were going to burn the key. It seems like hell is the room she is being send to.

  • Comment number 61.

Annie is my fav character :( well done Lenora on the amazing acting in the broadcasts!! :)

  • Comment number 62.

why cant i see the video s they keep on saying not viewable in your area this i have never seen

  • Comment number 63.

    @ starlee
Go to YouTube! You'll find all the Annie broadcasts there and much more!
And in regards to the broadcasts, they were wonderful!
Lenora has done a great piece of acting! My heart broke each time I saw her in that small room but I couldn't take my eyes off of her.
    Stirling performance Lenora!

  • Comment number 64.

    Annie cannot go to hell!

Personally, I'm wondering if 'the powers that be' are putting her through some kind of test. Maybe they're trying to determine exactly how good or evil she is.

Either way, I can't wait to find out.

Considering the horrific things Kemp did, and that someone else said a beurocracy has forms for every eventuality, and this beurocracy has infinite resources, I doubt Annie would be sent to hell for what she did, purgatory maybe, but not hell.

  • Comment number 66.

    OH!!
{65}thats what thought that resistng the door 4times sends you to hell. =(

Hurry up Mitchell and help Annie,PLEASE!!
    Well Done Lenora Great acting!

This comment was removed because the moderators found it broke the house rules. Explain.

  • Comment number 68.

Lenora is brilliant. Annie is heartbreaking. And Mitchell...well, I just can't wait to see that deliciousness in action again.

So, I've gathered how they get into Hell/Death (sort of)...but how do they get out again?

I haven't even seen BH3 yet, and I'm already hoping for BH4. Lol. But, OMG, please don't kill off any of the mains just because Aidan Turner is off to film The Hobbit. It really wouldn't be the same. I can stand addition (Nina is arresting to watch), but not subtraction. I would weep for days! I just want them all to be together! That's why Annie needs to be rescued, obviously.
