No. Sorry, but you shouldn't have recast this part - the original actor was the best thing about the pilot.

  • Comment number 2.

How could the Ö÷²¥´óÐã change the cast, they all had perfect chemistry

  • Comment number 3.

I was so excited to discover a series of Being Human had been commissioned. I loved the pilot. But now I am totally devastated to see the best thing in it, Guy as the vamp Mitchell is not in it!!!!
The ghost girl has been recast too. Doesn't auger well to be honest.

Loved the first episode. I think Adian and Lenora did a great job and it's good to see Russell returning as George. Can't wait for the next episode.

i thought the cast was perfect in the pilot. the vampire had just the right amount of humour as well as seriousness and the ghost was just brilliant.when i turned over to this the other night i was so disappointed!the new characters are miserable,im not sure if im watching the other episodes.

  • Comment number 6.

I watched and enjoyed the pilot episode and im loving the new series of Being Human.
It just keeps getting better and better, the backgrounds and the internal battles of the 3 main characters are being addressed more and more.
I think the new castings are just as fantastic as the previous if not better.
Look forward to seeing how all the characters progress throughout the series =D

I love the new cast, especially Aidan as Mitchell - perfecto vampire!

    lixxylu,

Have you also checked out Herrick's Profile

Or even the video on how a 21st century Vampire is created

It would interesting to hear your thoughts on these, seen as Mitchell has proved to be winner :-)

  • Comment number 9.

Oi leave off Aidan people :-( Think he is doing a brilliant job and absolutely love the character as Russell says...hes just cool there isnt a better word really lol. Guy was brilliant as was the actress playing annie but its like theyre completely different characters - i kinda wanna know what happened to them but it does feel as though theyre completely different characters - think the new cast are more "human" which works well - ive told plenty of people about the show and the usual response is "a vampire a werewolf and a ghost? wierd sci fi crap not for me ta" but then when they watch it they love it because it doesnt feel like that.

Nobody has a bad word against Russell and rightly so :-) brilliant actor and seen him in a few interviews he seems like quite a nice guy.

As for Annie i reaaaally cant make my mind up - i love both just wish there was a way to have both of them in the show lol think they are very very different but equally good.

Mitchell is the best character though in my opinion - interesting, deep, raises a million questions, funny, likeable and not to mention pretty easy on the eyes ;-)

  • Comment number 10.

FAB CAST! - How can you guys not like Aidan Turner as Mitchell?, he is the perfect person for the role and not to mention gorgeous to the point of not being human!!!!.
lenora is great as Annie and Russell is sooo loveable.
    all very talented.
bring on the next episode and the next series.

  • Comment number 11.

Well said - as for Guy - he was briliant and fantstic as a vampire and as i said i really wish there was a way of having them both lol but as sad as it is seeing him go Aidan does do a fantastic job and think he has more...staying power if that makes sense - Guys version was great for the pilot as he made you really get in to the character and care about him etc however, Aidans version - he makes you wonder he makes you want to know more - he seems a lot deeper you never know where you are with him whereas Guys version - like i said - great for the pilot but felt we pretty much had him sussed straight away - not sure if that is down to Aidans acting or the writing though i think it is a bit of both. Hurry up 10.30 want to watch episode 4 again :-)

I didn't see the Pilot episode of Being Human but I have to say I'm glad about that. I love the cast as it is and I can't imagine any other actors in the roles. Aidan Turner is incredible as the modern, confused vampire and it's his portrayal of the dark, sexy character and his interaction with the rest of the cast that keeps me tuned in each week. Well done guys, something great to look forward to on an otherwise dreary sunday night. Keep up the good work!

  • Comment number 13.

In my opinion this is one of the best things on telly at the moment! I'm so glad its been made in to a series. It seems to have come just at the right time.
Its intelligent ,thought provoking and the cast do a fantastic job...as well as being great to look at! Its so believable. The interaction and feelings they have for one another is portrayed so well. I'm always left at the end of each episode wanting more and feeling saddened at their plight to try and be normal , but then what is normal ?
    Brilliant !!

  • Comment number 14.

WOW!!! This show is amazing espacily Adian Hes more than 10 times better than the pilot vampire hes very cool and down to earth and seems to be very wise at the same time. Gosh if I saw him id fall into his charms straight away! In fact Id be a vampire right now! LOL

  • Comment number 15.

Oi get in line :-) lol

  • Comment number 16.

I think that the new mitchell is great! he's the perfect vampire I think he adds a slightly lighter side to his character which makes him more appealing.
Love the show can't wait for the next episode!!
    xxx

  • Comment number 17.

I think Aidan is brilliant as Mitchell - he's so cool especially in ep 4 when he went back to the vampires! And i love the way you can really see it in his eyes when he's battling his addiction!

  • Comment number 18.

    I love Mitchell!
And what I find so fascinating about his character is that we all totally adore him
In reality if an attractive charming male said 'Hi I'm a reformed serial killer, but it's OK because I've pretty much got the bloodlust under control, although the urge is always there and I do have momentary relapses every now and then. It's because most my friends are still into killing so it's hard not to go back to it.
George helps me through, he understands me because once a month he turns into a mental homicidal maniac.
I know alot of my friends & lovers end up dead but it's not always my fault and I'd like that to change, so how abot we go for a drink?' Would you go ah bless he's so pretty and just a bit misunderstood, I'm sure he didn't mean to violently kill all those people, perhaps I can change him.

  • Comment number 19.

Mind you if he looked as hot as Aidan Turner I suppose I might overlook his sociopathic tendancies.

  • Comment number 20.

Oh, just to say both actors are brilliant

Guy played the role as a more typical 24 hour vampire enigmatic, a bit pretentious, untouchabley cool, a constant air of danger, a much darker character - Aidan is more friendly and down to earth. He only displays vampyric qualities when he is being a vampire.
It's more interesting when there is such a contrast between his light positive human side and his dark monster side and his struggle to hide/control it.

It would be nice if both actors could be in it some how.

  • Comment number 21.

I am totally addicted to this series. I love George and Annie but as for the Mitchell, goodness me please please please please please Bite Me! Absolute sheer male perfection. Can we have more info on him?

  • Comment number 22.

I could not beleive the ending last night. Mitchell must survive! Must do another series. God he is gorgeous. Show brilliant best thing seen in ages.

  • Comment number 23.

    OMG NOoooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!
he cant die noo hes too HOT if he dies then I'll DIE!!!!! I love him too much I cant wait till Sunday loving the show people

    =]

  • Comment number 24.

A vampire trying to give up blood - its like a heroin addict trying to give up heroin. Actually its interesting that in Being Human, vampires can survive *without* blood as in most vampire mythology they need blood in order to survive, and they can't eat "normal" food.

And I have to agree with the other posters that Aidan is totally *gorgeous*! What a treat to watch such a lovely looking guy on the TV! Thanks, Ö÷²¥´óÐã, lol!

  • Comment number 25.

OMAT! Aidan Turner is soo HOT!!! And personally, I think he is a lot better at being a vamp than most people.

    I LOVE Aidan Turner!

  • Comment number 26.

And might I add... I LOVE American pancakes too...

    I Love Aidan Turner!

  • Comment number 27.

can't believe some people preferred guy... he was SUCH a cliche! Aidan's Mitchell is 3 dimensional, subtle, and MUCH better at delivering the comic lines.

Just because he wasn't there first doesn't mean he isn't better for a job. It's not like basgy-ing the front seat in a car!

  • Comment number 28.

Ah, I wasn't aware of the pilot or of any changes to the cast, I'll have to find that. For what it's worth though, I think the chemistry and acting from these three are just superb.

  • Comment number 29.

I can't believe some people are against the new actor playing mitchell. He is doing a fantastic job. They all are. The show is the best on tv and I can't wait for another series.

  • Comment number 30.

omg....nooo i don't want Aidan to leave.. he was really nice to look at :) and such a great actor....

How cud the Ö÷²¥´óÐã do this.. Oh well i will have to get back 2 you on how i feel about the new Mitchel... he better measure up i tell ya !!!

series 1 was great though i loved it !! xxx MITCHEL xxx

  • Comment number 31.

no no legendarylinlin... aidan's staying.. there was an actor playing mitchell BEFORE him ... in the pilot which was made a year earlier than the series.

fear not. this mitchell's here to stay.

  • Comment number 32.

I disagree, I think Aidan is perfect, not just because he is so attractive but i really think he brings so much to the role. I enjoy the show very much and can see it being the next Red Dwarf.
I would be interested to know what Aidans next role is to be especially with that hair!
When will the next series be aired? I can't wait!

  • Comment number 33.

I have just found out that his next role is to be one of my favourite artists - Rossetti in Desperate Romantics. Does anyone know when this will be shown? Are there plans to re show The Clinic?
Perhaps it is this role he had the extensions for.
I can't believe he is so young - how depressing!

  • Comment number 34.

I think Aidan is perfect for the role he plays. Everyone has some type of perception or image they associate with a vampire and Aidan is exactly what i imagine a vampire to look like. Perhaps it has alot to do with one of the first films i recall seeing with vampires was "Lost Boys" and Aidan kinda reminds me of Michael (Jason Patric) out of "Lost Boys"

  • Comment number 35.

Really disappointed to see the cast changed. The programme's lost its dark, intense, scary edge. Guy Flanagan was great. Andrea Riseborough was great.

This new guy as the vampire's not dangerous. Just looks like a good-looking football player with a nice smile.

You turned it into a soap in which everyone's easy on the eye.

Image wins out over substance again.

  • Comment number 36.

I have been trying to watch the prequels for the Happy Trio, but it says it is not available in my area. Any ideas why? Mitchell makes being a vampire seem like a breeze and Annie is fab as ghost. Her powers grow every day. And George is absolutely hilarious. The boyfriend has got to fry though.

  • Comment number 37.

The cast from the pilot were boring i like the new cast ie
    aidan turner
    lenora critchlow
    russel
