I've seen the old Annie in The Devil's Whore recently, I'm fairly sure..beautiful and good actress but her Annie accent was just sooo grinding and irritating. The new Annie is just as beautiful but has a lovely voice in comparison. The new Mitchell is sooo sexy (no offence to the old one) and Russell Tovy is just FANTASTIC, as always. Am sooo happy The Beeb saw sense and commissioned a series :-)

I do think the original actress made the character more endearing and, certainly, I noticed this with the cups of tea aspect. I wonder if, perhaps, the new actress is a little young for the part but hope that she grows into it. I think, at present, she may come across too much like a bounding, overenthusiastic puppy. I do think she did a good job of getting across the vulnerability of Annie outside the house, in episode 2. Don't want to appear mean about her performance, I think she'll grow into her role as time goes on.

Basically, going against everything you'd expect, and so making them more real and human. I think. :-)

I now think the original Mitchell was much better (agree with the Facebook comments on this), even though the new one is sexy. And I now think the new Annie is actually very good. Am not tired of watching all the episodes again yet. Very good sign.

You instantly got the sense they'd been friends for ages, but here it just doesn't feel like they're the great buddies they keep proclaiming. Maybe it's just me, but right now, I can't see why these two are together - not really. But I hope this will change with more backstory/Mitchell & George interaction.
Just to be positive, though, the character of Annie is much stronger than in the pilot.

I wonder what Guy is up to now though I hope he does well cos he is a really good actor too :-)

It's an unusual programme and it would be interesting to know more about how the cast came to hear about the auditions and decided to go for the roles. Also, I would like to say, 'Being Human' is a very welcome replacement at this time of year for 'Merlin' which we also love. We don't watch much TV in our house but we're dedicated fans of both of these!
