How can Mitchell done this!?! Or more to the point why doesn't he stay with them?? How long will it take for little Bernie to feed and turn his own mum? How can she help him or are they being shipped off to Herrick's brand new world?
And I will ask this question once again: is Herrick and his henchmen responsible for the car accident? We never see the car driver... wouldn't a innocent driver rush out to see what they have done?
AS I said in a previous blog I can't help but think that the accident has been orchestrated by Herrick in a bid to win Mitchell back by forcing him to do the very thing he talked about in the first episode... cunning very cunning but what will happen if / when Mitchell finds out the truth (supposing that I am right of course).
Can't wait for next week!!

Another question: why oh why didn't Fleur freak out when she couldn't see Mitchell's reflection in her mirror in the street???

wasnt that impressed with episode 4 as when I tried to watch it online it told me that for some reason, and this is the first time, as Ive always watched it online,for legal reasons we cannot show you Being human. Really not happy. Have watched evry episode live online and tonight for some reason no. Phoned Ö÷²¥´óÐã complaints and they said it was some disagreement between the producers and the Ö÷²¥´óÐã. PLeas get your act together. its either on or it isnt. if not please let p[eople know so they can make alternative arrangments. Seems to be some doubt as to whether its on I player at all. If not, what a waste of time. Boooo!

That was pretty darn awesome tonight. Canny wait for the next one.

Little angry at the boy vampire sitch though; Mitchell has really made a boo boo there, and by turning to the 'dark side'. Things can only get worse from here....

Annie being seen really has made things much more interesting though; but why has it happened? Gotta say, she's my fave; dunno why, she's just got something about her that is intriguing....

And George, poor little George. What else can you say....?!

That was amazing as usual. I've no idea were it's going and I absolutely love this. I love the whole natural approach to it. You could actually believe that vampires and werewolves exist in our society. I'm worried about Mitchell though... I honestly don't know why he bought back Fleur's child back. It has dark overtones... lol...

As for Annie... I'm sooo looking forward to next week... hehehehe

- karode01, you beat me to it again! I was just about to add to our earlier comments by saying that any normal driver who hit someone (especially a child) would want to know if they were ok or not. I think the fact we didn't see them in this episode is significant and it makes me think that Herrick is def behind it. Poor Mitchell though; he feels betrayed by humans and now, potentially, he could be betrayed by the vamps.

I love the way this show highlights the need 'to belong' and the difficulties this can cause. The mob culture was captured perfectly.

The George and Nina storyline is getting better and better and Sinead and Russell's acting was spot on. ''..there's only one 'E' in paedo, not two!..'' a brilliant George line.

Can't wait for episode 5.

Another step up from the last episode, it just keeps getting better and better. Like other people here, I haven't been this engaged in a Ö÷²¥´óÐã production in a while!

I certainly hope it wasn't Herrick who killed the lad, that would be convenient beyond credibility! But anyway, the whole story, all the twists and turns - can't see where it's going to end, and it's all the better for it. Great stuff, thank you, and series two please!

As i stated on another post, I thought this episode was a lot darker than the others.
I was surprised that Mitchell offered Fleur the choice to have her child turned into a vampire, I thought he'd learnt his lesson with Lauren. I guess it was because he was feeling so angry with humanity after the whole mob thing. It reminded me of Interview with a Vampire where Kirsten Dunst's character gets turned into a vampire as a little girl and so although she lives for hundreds of years her body never develops so becomes like a prison for her matured mind. If the Ö÷²¥´óÐã decide to commission another series of Being Human (fingers crossed they do) then i wonder if this will become an issue with Bernie as well. Thought it was really creepy when he turned to his mum after Mitchell had left and said he was hungry.
Overall thought this episode was really good, as I have come to expect with Being Human, and the three main cast really out did themselves in terms of acting for this one. The actress who plays Nina also put in an excellent performance and i particularly liked the bit when she told George that once he'd pushed everyone else away to remember that she would have listened.

I just found this interview with the producer of Being Human Matt Bouch who says in reply to one of the questions that
"At the very least it's clear in episode six that the story takes a very dramatic twist into series two."
Does that mean there is definitely going to be a series two???
I really really hope so.

I like 'bad' Lauren. Much more likeable as a character and appealing to watch than pathetic, needy Lauren. Very good.

I think the Ö÷²¥´óÐã would be bonkers not to commission a series 2, so I'm sure there must be plans for it.

Awesome episode! I love this show so much! But why only 6 episodes, oh cruel Ö÷²¥´óÐã?!?!
Following on from the suspected Herrick plot, it seems highly suggestive that his 'lair' is filled with different cars and that the car in the accident had darkened windows... hmm

This series truly is one of the best things on television atm and I'm really liking where the series is going, I've heard some news that they will be a series 2 is their any confirmation on this? Also a little off topic but do you know if after the series is show if it will be avaliable to buy on boxset?

I reckon the Ö÷²¥´óÐã should be bringing this to the masses and view it on Ö÷²¥´óÐã1. As for the driver of the car, its possible that it was Owen. He pushed passed Annie at the end of the episode looking mightly suspicious. And man, what was Mitchell thinking. Has he never seen Interview With A Vampire. Great actors, great characters and great storylines. What a show!

I dont like the sound of the big twist in episode 6 this sounds like they are gonna leave it on a cliffhanger! noooo! I only just manage to get through the week without a new episode let alone the space between 2 series's!

As for Owen leaving looking suspicious - think that was about the light falling down him knowing it was Annie - shes gonna haunt him next episode so maybe that was just fear?

Please get the DVD out as soon as possible Ive heard April?? I hope that means not waiting too long. Also really hope all of the behind the scenes and the character bits are on the special features please...

Yet another superb episode in a series that just gets better. I loved the darkness of the plot and the brilliant one-liners in this episode ('If pedoes looked like pedoes they wouldn't do much pedoing'-genius). I also liked the way the episode dealt with a serious comtemperary issue and how mass hysteria developed over 'that' DVD (seriously why put it in Laural and Hardy?). The way it dealt with Mitchell going back to the vampire community was brilliantly written and I loved the fact that he did it for the 'right' reasons.
Great build to episode 5 which looks like its going to be sublime.

Love love love this programme. Just gets better. Moving, fast paced, well acted, brilliant. Thanks to this blog found out that the pilot is on you tube>>> going to watch now....Deffo going to buy the boxed set and I don't usually buy boxed sets! this is must see TV. It's the only programme I make a point of watching.

I wondered the same about Fleur not freaking out when she couldn't see Mitchell's reflection when he was walking down the street, but then I figured maybe she thought she was drunk - she was supposed to be an alchoholic.

And I reckon Nina would be understanding about George's condition - I think the two of them are just so cute.

Excited there seems to be a series two commisioned - but I wonder how long we'll have to wait. Couldn't cope with a cliffhanger in ep6.

Interesting choice of subject for an episode, certainly doesn't make for comfortable viewing but in a good way. It was intresting watching how everyone, from the mother to Owen reacted once she suspected Mitchell of grooming.

Interesting watching the changes, Mitchell flippantly discussing a man he killed with Herrick, growing increasingly angry as the episode went on, Annie growing increasingly upset but then finding some resolution. George and Nina's on-off had me worried it was going to end and very well done for making it believable George hadn't seen her stomach before, must have taken some planning. What exactly was scarring her stomach I wonder.

I think the mother will always be grateful no matter the problems with her son but this could come back to haunt them all.

In reply to eagle eyes, the reason I stated that the driver may have been Owen was because just after the accident when Annie comes out of the house, Owen pushes past her looking mighty suspicious. Or it could just be one of Herricks henchmen of course. Either way I`m sure it`ll be revealed in the next episode.

george and nina-how cute are they? the fact that hes been hiding his damaged and she might be just as damaged as he is, wasnt expecting that

and talking of not expecting, i truly never saw the ending coming. what was mitchell thinking? Bernie will always be a boy, and that can never end well surely?

and the going back into the fold? say it aint so! i was shouting at my tv screen!

This episode was absolutely brilliant. I couldnt wait for it to be repeated, only hours after, so i could watch it again.

I think Mitchel did the wrong thing but i can see his reason for doing it. I think he knows that he has a responsiblity to that child and his mother. I wasnt expecting Mitchel to do it and the end was excellent.

Im starting to freak out that there are only two episodes left of this series.

Im loving it so much.

Fantastic episode, I really was on the edge of my seat wondering "OMG what's gonna happen next!"

I can't wait to see what Mitchell does next (I would love to see the evil vampire side).

oh my god just realised - on the preview for episode 5 when seth goes all "old school" was he turning on George?! can george be made into a vampire if hes already a werewolf? ooh be interesting to see. cant wait for sunday - so wish my internet was fast enough to let me watch it on a saturday!

I was so upset at he end of episode 4 when Mitchell went back - noooooooo!

I wonder - going with the drug addiction theme - do you think it'll ever be possible for Mitchell to ever give up blood and reform. Does he even want to? It's clear from ep4 that he is fed up with trying to fit in (his walk of life at the beginning), he's stopped trying to hide his inner vampire so much (scaring the bullies, confessing to Fleur and 'saving' Bernie), and is pretty hacked off with humans. Yet he seemed so intent, especially in ep2, on being human. And he does have a soppy side, as George said.

I really, really can't second guess what the BH team have in mind for Mitchell for the rest of the series - but I can't wait to find out.

I just thought I'd throw that question out to all you other fans and see what you think - can Mitchell reform forever, and would he really want to?

Great to see a planned DVD release of the whole series next month - but as it was filmed in HD, are we going to have a Blu Ray version - please?

Part of me wondered if Annie had made the car hit the kid when it happen because of her whole 'poltergiste(sp?) thing but then I decided that that was wrong lol.

shellmoby-I dont think Mitchell can properly reform because no matter what that blood lust is part of his instict and no amount of cold turkey with ever get rid of it, he,s akiller by nature not by choice

Ooooh, I've just seen Toby's latest blog, further to my last question about Mitchell reforming, and Toby says -

"..essentially the craving is something he could in theory overcome...Mitchell could renounce blood without starving to death"

Hurray, seems there's hope for him after all!! But not for poor George...

Brilliant episode...brought about many debates in chez Thetis ( the whole family watch it)..from what kind of mother would let her son go off with a virtual stranger to, if it meant saving a loved one,would you let Mitchell 'bite'..the answer in our house was YES..though the main debate was about morality...which I think this episode portrayed really well.

we did love the bad spelling of the 'concerned citizens' so very true to life :0)

Could Mitchell reform and does he want to?
I have to say when i saw episode 4 for the first time i went nooo at the end like i think everyone did but the more i think about it and the more times i watch i have to say i think im starting to agree with Herrick :-S why should they hide in some ways theyve behaved better than humans they dont start wars and kill people on mass they might need to feed but they dont have to "kill" as such - just recruit and keep them as vampires too like Herrick (I think) said "you're a shark so be a shark!" there are thousands of different predetors - lions, sharks what have you and we say thats just "nature" so why are they any different i say give them their chance lol weve ballsed the world up pretty bad could they really make it worse? :-) i think i may change my mind by next episode lol but im all for giving them the benefit of the doubt (although laurens comment about ripping the children to shreds was a bit disturbing - they definately shoudlnt do that!)

I have to say I agree with Miss_Beadie, all I could think about when Mitchell as offering to turn Bernie was Interview with a Vampire and how badly that went. Stupid Mitchell, doesn't he watch vampire films!?

A wonderful episode, the quality never flaggs. The writing is good but the cast take the whole thing to another level of excellence. There is not a single weak link in the chain although initially I had my doubts about Annie; these were laid to rest (geddit?)by her performance this week. And Aiden Turner: a stunner who can actually act and do comedy - please don't let Hollywood know...

I think it was obvious it wasn't going to be plain sailng for Mitchell, he was always going to have a bit of a relapse at some point. But I loved how it was done- that it wasn't Herrick, Lauren or the other vampires who finally got to him and 'turned' him back, instead it was the cruelty and pack mentality of human society turning on him, even after all his efforts to fit in. Like eagle_eyes4 said, it almost made me sympathise with Herrick! Also I kinda like evil vampire Mitchell, he's just so...cool!

Although having said that, it wouldn't surprise me if Herrick did somehow turn out to be behind the car 'accident' and it was all part of his plan...

As for George becoming a werewolf/vampire, I don't think he can, Lauren tried to bite him in episode 1 and it was like she was somehow repelled by it?

I am loving this show more than anything I've seen in ages, I signed up to Ö÷²¥´óÐã forums just to post this! I'm torn between being stupidly excited about Sunday and sad that it means there will only be one episode left!

I thought Ep 4 was a major let down after the genius of the first 3 - why would Mitchell be so stupid as to leave the DVD there, why would he suddenly offer to turn a dying person when he refused to do it before (when it was equally his fault) and why on earth would doing so make him go back to Herrick? It was like they had a plot destination they wanted to arrive it, and didn't care how they did it. Was all crammed in, with no reasoning for his actions. Huge disappointment, very worried where it'll go now.

I like Lauren better ever since the "Britain's Got Talent" comment.

I wish there were a subscription service so I could see episode three. Oh, well.

Mitchell shouldn't have bitten Bernie, he'll stay twelve for ever and if I were his mother I would never have wanted my child to become some unnatural eatting machine, what if Herrick finds him? Being Human: the reason I have no social life haha

Yes I agree with comment 35 - the irony of Mitchell's return to the vampires was really great, and maybe it was all part of their grand plan after all, what with Lauren paying him a visit especially to tell him she wasn't going to be bothering him any more...there's got to be more to it than that, we know how cunning the vampires are, especially Herrick. ooh, he gives me goosebumps, he's really scary - especially in the prequel where he tells Mitchell he'll be keeping a closer eye on him *shudders*.

Herrick's DVD worked after all didn't it, in it's own little way.

Really enjoying the series, a really different sort of program. I appreciate the fact that these "creatures" can be seen as different as any human is.

I was disturbed that Mitchell left the newly "converted" Bernie without any support and an older vampire to teach him how to act. The last thing Bernie said was "I'm hungry." What Fleur going to do, slit her wrist for him? A little absurd. Mitchell was more of a "father figure" with Bernie prior to the accident. Now that he's converted Bernie, like Lauran, he quickly deserts him. Well, there are more episodes to follow, so, who knows what may develop. After all, Bernie is now one of "the family." Herrick will have to know and get involved.

Loved the dark feel to this episode although i didn't agree with Mitchel turning the boy into a vampire.

longshadows - she can just go get him a burger lol mitchell eats real food blood is just like a drug for him he doesnt need it as such although Lauren does describe the pain of not having so i guess he will have to deal with that but as with any drug perhaps the physical withdrawal symptoms wear off after a while? Its an entirely new concept so we can but guess lol i guess we shall see :-)

Why are some of you surprised that Annie can be seen?

She was seen in Episode one by the Pizza Boy & the Bin men - presumably she became visible after George & Mitchell gave her recognition.

It's only after she sees Owen that she dissappears again. Presumably through shock & the subconcious protecting her from her killer & also the literal metaphore of how Owen made her feel; physically & mentally abusing her so that her self esteem was battered & she felt invisible & like a nothing.

In episode 4 she takes controll of her "life" & gains confidence & inner strength through knowing the truth & having a purpose. Thus she becomes solid & whole again & visible.

Just love this series. The touch and feel of it. The unlikelyness of it. The ridiclousness of it. It shouldn't work, shouldn't ineterest me but, it's so well done. Scripted, set, directed, coloured, cast, acted. I wouldn't miss this for anything.

I waited so long for the series after the pilot, and I haven't been disappointed! Normally I'm a vampire girl, I love the bad guys, but Russell's award-worthy acting has made me fall for my first werewolf! This episode in particular, the stuff with Nina, who I also love - so witty - so emotional, so well-written, so believably and naturally acted. Outstanding. Watched this episode six times so far!

my question is not related to episode 4. it regards 5 and 6. who is the actress that plays Mitchell's friend, the Dance Teacher? Is it one of the actresses from the film Evil Dead?

Ellen Sandweiss, Theresa Tilly, Betsy Baker...?
