I cant watch just yet but YAY! :-D I love Ivan and is that an interview with Paul Rhys I spy?? Ooh Mr P you've just made a rather poorly girly very very happy thank you :-D cant wait to watch it in a bit woohoo...long live Ivan! (I think I miss him nearly as much as Herrick :-()

it is true that Ivan seems in a war to chase death going where the chances of his end coming are high even in the prequel as the 'old ones' are running and hiding he doesn't seem at all put out at going somewhere he could die.
also in the opening to ep7 when he offers Daisy the chance to be indestructible the saddness of that fact comes out in his performance

I think Ivan /is/ a very noble person, just one who happens to kill humans. It's the distinction between vampire and human which is murky - Mitchell keeps trying to narrow the gap, but none of the rest of them have ever thought to do that. Ivan said everyone deserves a Daisy, but I'm going to go out on a limb and argue that every vampire needs a Josie, too.

Ivan, you will be missed!

Ivan was a great character, shame he wasn't around for a bit longer (in terms of how long we've "known him" cos obviously he's had a pretty long life lol) Hopefully a few flashbacks next series.

You only get a split second to do save somebody else, like he saves Mitchell. I think it's the kind of thing you could only do if you "had it in you", if that makes sense. You wouldn't have time to reason it out... He's over a hundred years older than Mitchell, isn't he? So he saved a youngster :)

And Paul Rhys is just amazing, I almost cried when I watched the prequel in ep7. He walking out the door into dangers, it was like watching him going away from the show.

Ivan will surely be missed.

Ah, will miss Ivan...dangerous but an all-round good bloke, er, vamp... and yes, very noble and loyal to other vamps...I am eating an awful lot of humble pie here because although I enjoyed his character in the beginning I had doubts about him...it was only when I got to the third episode of S2 I thought hmmm, he's not necessarily the most dangerous one...Daisy's madder than him...and he was honest about not being able to give up the blood, too...

Good to see a tribute to Ivan - one of the highlights of S2. I didnt like him at first - as he began by smacking Mitchell in the mouth - never did figure out why? - and threatening George - but he was then so world weary and witty - and he also helped Carl and supported Mitchell. He really did love Daisy in the end - despite him saying he had lost his feelings.
and then of course he saved Mitchell - so we will all light a candle to him and say RIP - at last

And a terrific actor - hope we might see at least one Ivan flashback in S3 - there are lots of years to choose from.

Loved this little vid from Paul Rhys and actually found it quite moving....what an articulate actor he is....

Ivan was my favourite addition to series 2 ....he had some of the best lines i think particularly in eps 6 and 7. Not terribly sure why he was prepared to let his wife 'get it on' with other vampires or werewolves even but maybe he thought that was the way to keep her happy.

Yes...every vampire ( male ) should have a Josie...although it would help enormously if he could hang onto that Josie..! We never found out how long the relationship between Mitchell and Josie lasted...in some vid or other linked to series 1 we were told that they lost contact with each other after a while but no other explanation..we don't even know if they were living together.

33. i agree about how articulate Paul Rhys is but then i think i knew he would be from the way he played Ivan. did you notice how he always seemed so distant from the emotion (apart from with Daisy that is and even then it seemed indulgent and loving). I think he knew Mitchell had more years and 'life' still in him and that's why he saved him. I loved Ivan, he's the perfect counterpart to Daisy,the older, colder, more detached vampire to balance her emotional, passionate, feral self.They were a great couple.
I would love some more Ivan back story, this is the stuff that fanfiction was made for (or pre prequels BHP??)

33. also i think he didn't care about Daisy 'getting it on' with other people bc he knew that wasn't important. they were together forever and he was secure in that. I think he'd lived so long that he wasn't like humans, he'd evolved past it. not superhuman, just 'other'.

Thankyou BH production for another great little video! Good to hear from Paul Rhys! I agree with Anglo, Dorina and Celticgrace: Ivan was a fantastic new character for series 2. It's just a shame he didn't last a little longer. I always knew (well, hoped) that Ivan was one of the good ones....and he was!!
