My favourite incidental piece of your music was at the beginning of ep 5 series 1 during the montage at the beginning of the show with George's voice over - stunning - so hope that's gonna be on it.

COOL that'd be awesome. lol i half expected evil mitchell to have his own theme tune like angelus, but i guess it's not on the cards.

anyway back to babbling wildly about evil mitchell he is amazing, mitchell has a new quote : 'its all good georgie' i know it was creepy but i kind of giggled and kept on pressing rewind. goerges like oh oh big bad john's back in ze house lol

Great insight into how all this is put together...we have no idea how this is all done but it sounds very involved and fascinating....I love those acoustic guitar riffs which were played when George made Nina breakfast in bed and in other scenes too...something very touching about those, along with the music used for when Lauren died...dramatic and perfect...

Thanks for this, Richard, and to you and your team for all the patience and talent and hard work you put into this....we're also looking forward to episode 8 although will be hugely sad when this is all finished...however, series 3 looms and we'll be latching onto that pretty soon I think!xxxx

weird thought about the experiments if put forward on George and Nina will they cause an opposite effect to that envisioned by CenSSA instead of making the wolf weaker it makes the wolf stronger?

4 - yes I love that I think its a recurring theme isn't it but with slight alterations and that bit at the start of episode 5 was just lovely I actually had it as a text ringtone for a while lol

I love all the background stuff we're given. I think it enhances the programme, I feel more connected to it somehow (I know, corny, but true). And the music is always great, appropriate, and important. What would Jaws have been without the Da Da, Da Da bit but Trevor having a hissy fit!

Oh wow... I abzolutely LOVE the music in series two, especially after the DVD fiasco with series one where it all changed (not that the new music wasn't good, just a bit of a surprise!) I'm glad you mentioned the George/Nina telephone scene because that's my favourite of all, it's been used a few times just at the perfect moments and just makes me want to grin and cry at the same time, it's beautiful!

Also, I'm even more excited about episode eight now... I didn't think that was possible!

not sure I really understand "acoustically real" but "heavily processed" ?? tho it makes an odd sort of sense!

I'm so glad to read this post. I've always stated that BH's soundtrack is one of my favourite ever. Richard did a great job, really. With much passion, and that's what makes every for of art superb.

I love the way this original music interacts with the licensed song choices.

Really interesting to read this from Richard and hope that Toby and all the directors have noted his pleas for greater amount of time to write his soundtracks.....the writing for series 3 appears to be going at a faster pace then even series 2 so don't know that Richard will get his hope!

Speaking of musical things...only noticed when watching eps 7 again on the Iplayer that Mitchell has a squeeze-box in his room ( don't know corrcet name for it) in his room...would have been cool to have seen him playing it.

Crikey..even more gory scenes in eps 8 by the sound of things! No idea who kills who but still fairly sure that Mitchell, George, Annie and Nina make it to Wales ..albeit with Annie changed in some way....maybe she develops her superpowers to such an extent that she transports all 4 of them at the same time!

Don't think Kemp or Lucy survive...not sure about Daisy but can't see her making it to Wales somehow...

...and also fairly sure that Trevor has met his maker...sorry....

There's also a cast member named on the eps list who hasn't appeared before...female...and wondering who she is..and what she does.

Yep still in agreement with you Dorina about the three surviving, just wouldn't be the same with one of them dead, though not sure about Nina. I still think it will all centre round Annie.

Poor Richard doesn't get much time to write his music though does he? Yet he's still done a brilliant job! I hope he has a little more time for series 3, although that doesn't look likely!

Olive's this great vamp in the new BH books. In case anyone was worried that they might be a bit 2d in comparison to the ace tv show (like some tv show books have been let's be honest) they are really good. maybe even good enough to spin you out with a BH fix until season 3?

Just had another look, but he's was just sitting on the bottom of his bowl, isn't he. Probably mourning Mitchell, poor little soul!

I think that LucyBF is obviously still hoping that Mitchell survived the explosion. I wonder if she will be more than just "vampire fodder" in the final ep... I think if anyone kills her it will be Daisy, rather than Mitchell, in revenge for Ivan.

i'm thinking the new female could be the link into the new series - her being welsh. also thinking that a lot of the curious cast listings will end up being red herrings and be in flashbacks! also think said flashbacks will explain something new that will help mitchell - or is that just wishful thinking!

Ooh, next episode Amy McBride is played by Sara Lloyd-Gregory who was in an episode of Torchwood (giggle if you know which one it was).

Odd that her character has been listed with both first name and surname, which seems odd. Most characters in BH are rarely refered to by more than one name (unlike a lot of shows where you always hear a character's full name, it even became a plot point with Lucy and Professor Jaggart). Anyway this is largely over analysis but I just thought it was odd. :S

Oh and another thought from me, I wonder if next year's threat will be introduced as a sort of cliffhanger at the end of the series like Kemp was last year. Although if its "from within" it might be harder to illustrate than before.

I'd say they are worth it, I've read 2 out of the 3 and I'm planning to get the third one. They capture the characters very well and the stories have a few twists to keep you interested.

Good for a little bit more of Being Human action than you get on the telly:D

I tend to get through them very quickly once I start which I suppose is a good sign.

72 - giggle! i remember that episode. i miss torchwood. the last series was brilliant but really did end it with no real way back.

Oh and another thing I like is that they follow on from eachother so you aren't starting again each time, characters are introduced who come back and some story threads continue form one book to another. It feels less like the stories come out of nowhere that way.

It does mean there is a specific reading order than you ignore at your peril (mua ha ha)
1. The Road
2. Chasers
3. Bad Blood

Basically on the covers its Annie, George, then Mitchell (alphabetical order :D)

They are like episodes of the series just not on TV. Kind of.

They are understandably less involved with the main arc of the series than the TV episodes so you don't have CenSSA show up or Daisy & Ivan, none of that is really moved on but they have their own sort of mini story arc (probably not the best person to say this because I still don't have the third book)

I think they are supposed to be set some time during the early episodes of the series, after episode two and before episode four. I think if you are a fan of the show (as you are by your name :) ) You'll enjoy reading them.
