ADAM'S FAMILY: THE 24 HOUR COUNTDOWN

Post categories:

Garret Keogh, Online Editor | 20:55 UK time, Saturday, 29 January 2011

Adam's Family 24 Hour Countdown

The second episode of Being Human, entitled Adam's Family (They're creepy and they're kooky... you know the song), is now less than 24 hours away, but what do we know?

Well, let's start with that title.... Adam's family. Adam is a teenage vampire that comes crashing into the foursome's lives like only a teenage boy can, i.e. causing havoc, smelling of stale sweat and trying to crack on to everything that moves. His family situation is a little 'unusual' and soon it's up to Annie, Mitchell, George and Nina to give him a little guidance. But are they really the best ones to be giving advice?

Adam is the stuff of Being Human legend, so make sure you're watching our new online drama Becoming Human to follow the next exciting and mysterious chapter in his life.

Now the gang are reunited and have a place to live they need to find jobs. As we've seen from the latest preview clip, Annie's efforts at helping Mitchell don't exactly go to plan. First Owen and now this... It seems Annie might not be cut out for the whole 'guardian angel' thing after all.

All this plus lots, lots more in episode two of Being Human, airing Sunday at 9pm on Ö÷²¥´óÐã Three.

The countdown has begun...

    Well one day
    24 hours
    1440 minuets

And as they tick away the second stretching one thought above all keeps going on in my head.

I could watch both series the pilot and Lia in that time if only I didn't need to sleep.

  • Comment number 2.

Oh I can't wait, tomorrow will go really slowly again!

  • Comment number 3.

Oooo Gna seem like forever, Watchin the clock.

  • Comment number 4.

don't watch the clock keep busy! leave all the ironing till Sunday

  • Comment number 5.

Why didnt McNair and Tom have a Prequel?

  • Comment number 6.

I think the Annie Broad casts were a prequel or at least took the prequels place.

  • Comment number 7.

The prequels were for series 2.

  • Comment number 8.

    Ohh Right.
    And the CenSSA broadcasts.

  • Comment number 9.

We were told about Tom and Mcnair before the series started and maybe the stuff that would be in their prequel is important to the storylines or something

  • Comment number 10.

The "stuff of Being Human legend", eh?

    Oooh, now I'm intrigued! :)

  • Comment number 11.

I think the marketing/advertising team like to do something different every time. Last year we had censsa and the prequels and this year we got the annie broadcasts and becoming human. Doing prequels again would be like re-treading old ground.

  • Comment number 12.

5 6 and 7 - plus they probs dont want us knowing too much about them yet!!!

ahh a 5 hour rehearsal should help while away the time tomorrow!! *rolls eyes*

Must admit am very excited for tomorrow after the brilliance that was last week!! plus it will good after a rubbish week!!!

  • Comment number 13.

Oooh can't wait for tomorrow's episode!!

Need to get back to series 1 and some Gilbert fun!!!

    Awww i just love Gilbert,xxx

  • Comment number 14.

    Gilbert's dancing was the best!

  • Comment number 15.

    Can't wait!

Adam looks like a great new character, but I'm worried I'll keep getting him mixed up with Robin from Young Dracula!

  • Comment number 16.

Huff&Puff long week and its still not Sunday :O/ Anyway I've been shopping got the party rings and custard creams cause they all got scoffed first at last weeks party see ya sametime sameplace tomorrow can't wait !!

  • Comment number 17.

I loved the last episode. And I think that episode 2 is going to be just as good. I am so happy the humor is back! :) The last episode was more similar to the episodes in series one, and I enjoyed every minute.

I am not sure I am going to like the Adam character. But maybe we are not ment to... When they showed what was going to happen in the next episode, he seems like a person who is killing a lot of people and I think he is going to create a mess for our awesome foursome. But without people that makes trouble, there would be no excitement.

  • Comment number 18.

    13. Yes Gilbert was really good, I didn't realise just how good until he had gone.

As for tomorrows ep. if the teaser is anythig to go by, I can't wait.

Maybe watching S3E1 will placate me until then.

  • Comment number 19.

This is going to sound absolutely ridiculous but I've literally had butterflies in my stomach today, thinking about tomorrow's episode! Looking forward to everything about the ep but especially looking forward to the Annie and Mitchell scenes :D. Can't help my shipping heart

  • Comment number 20.

Oh how I wish it was Sunday already. Remember when you were a kid and Sundays were the worst day of the week because you knew you had school the next day... if only Being Human was around then

  • Comment number 21.

I'm eagerly awaiting the episode tomorrow :) Being Human is my highlight of the TV week, at the moment :)
I'm not sure what to think about the episode yet. I can't seem to picture what the plotline might be at all. However, the preview with Mitchell and Annie was very funny, so I have high hopes. I shall just watch and enjoy, as usual!

  • Comment number 22.

15 - I'm exactly the same! I was (and still am) a huge Young Dracula fan. I know it was a CÖ÷²¥´óÐã show but it was funny and clever and completely addictive!

I can't wait for tomorrow's episode. Knowing I will be watching Being Human tomorrow night keeps me happy so I'm not feeling miserable for monday mornings :)

  • Comment number 23.

I CANT SLEEP GOD DAMN IT! Thinking about BH is stopping me from sleeping...
oh that and I can hear someone snoring.... Dang it!

16 - yep looking forawrd to it! I got a chocolate cheesecake if anyone wants some! I hope this vitual party will be as good as last weeks! Now that party was Swinging man! Oh and this time were having balloons!

  • Comment number 24.

Insomnia is a real pain in the proverbial but it does allow you time to think of things. so many things to think of concerning the cast list. now as this can be considered by some spoilers I will handle this with care and due diligence.

Now from the cast list I know interesting things on the Mitchell other side contact thing and how they might try to keep his options prisoner.

how this turns out I don't know.

forever elusive sleep will not come, so ponder I the stories to come.

  • Comment number 25.

Well I'm very late to the party and a few blogs behind, finally got to watch and catch up on all the posts. Great to see all the excitement and theories floating around again. Can't really add anything new it's already been said and written better than I could. This first episode was just AMAZING well worth the wait! I loved the darkness of the 2nd series but so glad the humor is back and it is so back :). Congratulations to all involved the writing, directing, and expecially the acting were incredible!

All the talk of werecubs, I think it's a red herring, but as Annie said to Nina "If there's one thing I've learned about this world is it doesn't follow logic, we're talking about magic and curses we're off the map here." So I guess anything is possible in Lord Toby's world.

  • Comment number 26.

[19] i have been like that all week

    12 hours to go!!!!!

  • Comment number 27.

woohooooo..lol Anna, counting the hrs and mins!:O) Not TOO long now...glad it's Sunday again,or should we rename it 'Yipeeday for the next few weeks or so!..lol

Tempers will be flaring for sure in the household, and mostly from Mitchell I'm thinking..lol..
Annie is looking very 'Mummsy' here, good Annie, always in control & George looking very confused.awww bless him...give him a hug Nina!

  • Comment number 28.

Morning everyone not long now till episode 2 :D. Sadly it'll be some time before I'll get to see it :'(.

Ewan my thoughts on the werewolf tattoos, don't think George had a tattoo just looked like dirt to me, but then again didn't see it with the clearest picture.

McNair and son's tattoos are several different crosses and they've clearly had run-ins with vampires. Perhaps they got them for protection from the vampires after they change back to humans they're naked and pretty vulnerable. Herrick tells Cara that he'll send out groups in the morning and get George when he's recovering.

Always thought the pentagram and writing tattoos on Tully were a failed attempt at a cure or a holding back of the wolf as kind of a spell. He tells George that it's in every cell and there is no cure, seemed to me that at some point he tried different things for a cure.

  • Comment number 29.

Im almost as excited for the blog post as I am for tonight episode - is that normal? Also, I know we are being absolutely spoiled on here, and I feel cheeky asking... but are we getting any video diaries this time? Please BHP, please... XXXX

  • Comment number 30.

    Hi bloggers!
Good Being Human Day! I think they should chage it officially! (lol)

Speaking of tonight's episode I'm really excited to see how all small pieces we've been fed upon last week will fall into place.

Tattoos, I don't know..religious symbols seem to work if "loaded", as any magic talisman so George's David's star, so maybe Tom's cross. But then again depens on the use you make of it (i.e. george's pendant is never directed against mitchell so it doesn't affect him).
And yes, tully's body looked more like a ritual map or something, again rituals seems to come play a bigger part (still struck by McNair's stake with wolf had carve on top of it).

Children/Cubs - haven't we said last season that the curse is not inheritable? Orhave I missed something? (I missed a lot of blog, please someone catch me up!)

  • Comment number 31.

Afternoon all - stuck in work again - hoping for a puncture-free drive home later!
I did my first re-watch of ep. 1 last night. Tom's scars on his head looked quite red at one point and McNair was talking about it being a big day - could he maybe have not been a werewolf for very long? Probably reading too much into it!

  • Comment number 32.

I've just thought some more about the total rubbish I wrote above (31). Tom was way too clued up and at ease killing Stake'n'Chips man (forgotten his name) to be a newbie.
I'll sit quietly until I have something sensible to suggest!

  • Comment number 33.

    31. yeah I noticed too that the scars are pretty "fresh". It may be the second/third/fourth transformation? he knows tricks like the chicken on a string, he recognises George as "another one of us", know about what I now call rituals (stake and such) has already augmented senses and deep connection with another pack member.

  • Comment number 34.

    30. Official Being Human Day? I'd vote for that. And perhaps Mondays are official recovery and re-watch days and therefore bank holidays, obviously.
Liking the look of tonight's ep. Seems we're in for some seriously deviant vampire behaviour. All good!

  • Comment number 35.

31 - Every day of the week is rewatch day.

  • Comment number 36.

I will be watchin Shrek The Third waitin for BH tonight.

  • Comment number 37.

30 - Lord Toby stated that if conceived when 'Human' the kids would be human but they weren't human in that room now were they.

  • Comment number 38.

No they wont but nina could giv birth to were pups in Human form?

  • Comment number 39.

For AT fans found this reply from AT about if he'll be in BH4 if it takes place

"I don’t really know yet. We’re shooting The Hobbit for a good year and a half – until midway through 2012 – but I think I get six weeks off, so we might work something out"

    Doesn't sound that promising :-(

  • Comment number 40.

    37. ah, right.. that was the point.thanks.

    38. Sffaz, the pups would be in human form anyway, unless she gives birth during a full moon.. the ecographs should be nice on a full moon, I wonder if the foetus turns.

  • Comment number 41.

According to most Lore I've read the change for those born werewolves you have to wait till puberty till the first change.

I mean can you imagine a baby going through the change that would just be wrong.

  • Comment number 42.

But it will be a cute puppeh! *O*

  • Comment number 43.

Still they'd be dangerous little yappers

6 and a half hours to go or five and a half before another re-watch.

  • Comment number 44.

Could a baby be infected if it was strached? But the transformation happens quicker becus there smaller.

  • Comment number 45.

two schools of thought on the infected kid - whether we find out Lord Toby's take?

We can how ever take Bernie into account he doesn't shy away from Monster children.

  • Comment number 46.

I miss Bernie id like to see him return with Fleur.

  • Comment number 47.

Last night when unable to get to sleep I came up with a fun game.

Now most times on youtube - well I'll say it 99.9% of the time when they advertise a video of a being human episode it's not. you can tell by the image preview they show.

if having trouble getting to sleep a game you can play is tell what episode. It works almost as well as counting sheep.

  • Comment number 48.

47 - Sorry ewan i dnt get it.

  • Comment number 49.

On youtube the videos have a screen shot of the video it's self

that screen shot is there to tell you what's on the video - So when they are merely there to show a link to an way to watch being human episodes on their personnel site tat charges the user money or messes up their computer.

That screen shot is a clue to it being fake because the shot is not from a the episode advertised.

the game to play is looking at that shot can you tell which episode they are using to try to sucker you in.

  • Comment number 50.

I think a baby werewolf would just gnaw on everything like a wolf or dog puppeh.
But then again i'm imagining things..puberty sounds like a good compromise, especially for females. you get your first period, which is moon-related, you get your transformation.
watch out for teenage werewolf PMS!

  • Comment number 51.

Hi everyone, another one on board for the party! I've got the whole household excited now. My son was a huge fan of Young Dracula so he's officially initiated into the BH family! The script for the Becoming Human was classic...loved it so I'm sure there's great stuff to come.
Can't wait for the pitter patter of tiny paws, Nina and George have the perfect baby sitters in Annie and Mitchell, remember Tim!
Great to see the blog back to it's friendly best, there were some scarey people on mid week, keep the faith Ewan you'll always be our hero!
I've made a very rich, dark chocolate, diabolo cake, the perfect partner to a nice cup of tea! I'll save everyone a piece.

  • Comment number 52.

yhh i get that on youtube loads, but i dnt watch BH on youtube i just put the dvds on.

But i know what u meens its cos of copy right.

  • Comment number 53.

    51 - Rufus. LoL

  • Comment number 54.

    kind of that reason yes.

there are still the fan made videos to see though they are very good and help with the countdown.

  • Comment number 55.

well shops shut soon and I need being human supplies back later

  • Comment number 56.

hello all! Lovely to see you all. Sorry to hear about the midweek (51) - doesn't sound nice.

I got my fingerless gloves on and am trying to settle down into some studying, but so far I have managed twitter,, BHblog videos, email, twitter, bridesmaid research, twitter and now I'm here. I'm doing well!

This week it's King Lear and madness with a side line in Shrews... shrews appealing more, despite being less pressing.

Ewan - I don't know when you said this but I read it somewhere at some point, but yes, Johnny Ball made me feel old too!

  • Comment number 57.

39 - I really hope they can work something out, Its not the same without Mitchell.

  • Comment number 58.

I just watched episode 1 again in preparation for tonight :D was just as good this time as before which is a good sign. I loved Vincent even more this time, he cracks me up the way he says "Chew toy? Bowl?" near the end and "stake and chips, anyone?" is the funniest line in a long time, I am going to miss that character as awful as he is.

I suppose McNair & Son are going to stick around in Barry for some time to come as they are regulars though I don't see why they wouldn't move on again, they seem to be homeless so why wouldn't they?

Anyone know how many viewers BH got last week? It's been promoted quite a bit compared to before, especially in the Radio Times and all and more people have Ö÷²¥´óÐã HD than ever which must be selling it a bit.

I almost forgot, Becoming Human tonight = hooray! With this web content, you are spoiling us, ambassador.

  • Comment number 59.

Half 3 this time tomorrow id be comeing out of school and goin home to rewatch Adams Family and BCH,

  • Comment number 60.

Im sure he says Chew Toy and Bone

  • Comment number 61.

hi deadly!hi rose! nice to read you again

    58. I loved Vincent too. I think Mr T. has a real talent in writing amazing crazy villains.. I so want to see what's going on with Herrick.
I think Herrick is my greatest expectation for this series..
I've always love that crazy ginger!

  • Comment number 62.

Every weekend i want it to go slow so i dnt hav to go bck to school.

But i also wnt it to go quick so i can watch Bh.

  • Comment number 63.

Hmm..anyone good at maths? Have i got time to watch all of S1 before 8? If not, which Eps should i watch?

  • Comment number 64.

no there sould be enough time to watch 5 episodes.

  • Comment number 65.

    Or 4 episodes

  • Comment number 66.

    But which five?

  • Comment number 67.

    Or four?

  • Comment number 68.

57/39: BH without Mitchell would be pants. It's about the relationships between them all and he is a major cog. But if they're gonna have a werewolf kill him at the end of this season, it'd be a bit repetitive to bring him back at start of season 4 like they did with Annie this season. And if they come back without the memories then it won't be the Mitchell we love.

I don't want to be biased and have a favourite as I love George and Annie just as much, but for me Mitchell is the most interesting character to watch because he has this ongoing battle with himself which is so much more dangerous than turning a bit doggy once a month. I can't imagine really liking the show without the Mitchell character, so I'm a bit upset at the thought of the show being ruined without him. My position has always been though that Mitchell and Annie should only get it on just before one of them "dies" properly, and maybe that's happening. Part of me would rather no BH4 than BH4-sans-Mitchell, which is an awful thought to have.

I can't really remember The Hobbit brilliantly from when I read it twenty years ago, but I have to say I have no recollection of Kili at all so I don't know why AT would have to be there for the entire duration of the shoot. Seems a bit silly really. He's not going to be in every scene. I'm sure they can give him more than 6 weeks off. You Hobbit fans please advise me because I don't have time to reread the book!

  • Comment number 69.

my real name keeps popping up on this blog. It's quite distracting/unnerving!

  • Comment number 70.

    i would watch S2 eps 6 7 8 S3 ep 1. in prepration for tonight.

  • Comment number 71.

WR (69): For some reason, I've never had that problem.

  • Comment number 72.

    68. Kili is one of the Dwarves in the party that accompany Bilbo on the Qeust of Erebor (go to the Lonely mountain, fight the dragon, get the treasure) and they (kili and his brother fili) are with Bilbo all the way through the journey until thir bitter end in the Battle of Five Armies.
So yeah, he is pretty much an important character who will need to play the whoe film.

  • Comment number 73.

68 - Ive neva red the Hobbit and i dnt kno the characher of Kili. And i also love all the charachers the same but Mitchell is the most intersting to watch knowin anything cud set him of on one.

And the other 3 well only once a month the werewolves change and annie isnt that interstin to watch but she brings a sence of love and happyness in the group.

  • Comment number 74.

72 - Well at least its nice to c AT have a big part in other stuff.

  • Comment number 75.

What is the test series Resonance about that AT gna b in?

  • Comment number 76.

72 - I have been asking that question a lot and you are the first person to answer clearly. I don't know whether to love or hate you though because that is gutting news! Poo! Great for AT, gutted for BH.

73 - Annie's brilliant! I love her joy and love for everyone and her excitement about all things good and human. George is just funny. Nina is still growing on me, but I've had that discussion several weeks ago with Ewan and I feel very guilty that I am yet to fully accept her into the group (I see her as a threat to Mitchell - how weird am I?!)

  • Comment number 77.

    76. you probably haven't asked any Tolkien fans before.. that's what you get from a person who's written her thesis on the Elventongues! lol

  • Comment number 78.

75 - huh? Don't know anything about it - not on imdb. Qu'est-ce que c'est? (is that right? sooooo long since I was at school!)

  • Comment number 79.

Yhh i c Nina as a threat to Mitchell she dosnt seam to like him that much.

As we c her stick her middle finger up at him.
And wat she says to George in the celler.

  • Comment number 80.

78 - Just seen a trailer on youtube.

  • Comment number 81.

And yeah, I would be sorry too if Mitchell weren't there anymore. It's really the relationships between them who keep the show going, I mean.. the effort of trying being human comes from their relationship.
But I am sure Mr T. has plannes everything before writing it and I want to believe everything will make sense.

  • Comment number 82.

77 - alas I don't know many, and the one I know was in New Zealand. If it was Harry Potter or the Bible, I'd be better positioned. A thesis on Elventongues... hmm and there's me struggling with French.

  • Comment number 83.

    82. well.. if it's any consolation I struggle with French too.. XD

  • Comment number 84.

81 - George would never be the same again if mitchell was gone.
    He would really hurt him.

  • Comment number 85.

79 - Saffz you have made me feel so much better! Relieved I am not alone in weariness about Nina. I think she's generally nice, but she has clearcut boundaries and Mitchell tends to trip over them too often. When she finds out about Box Tunnel it will not be a happy moment.

    80 - link?

  • Comment number 86.

    85 -

  • Comment number 87.

I think if she finds out about the box tunnel she will tell the police.

Hmm but is the parnership still there?

  • Comment number 88.

WR your back! hello and i need to find you on twitter!

Series 4 without Mitchell would be terrible, they could never do that he's too much of a key character!

Annie is very brilliant! She is so happy and funny and the thought of her 'helping' makes me laugh.

And WR I can see where your coming from with Nina being a threat to Mitchell, I'm not sure why.

  • Comment number 89.

WR, Saffz: I think she's really moral, so while Mitchell's clean, they'll be okay, but possibly not if she finds out exactly what he did when he dived off the wagon...

  • Comment number 90.

if any of them find out about box tunnel I think they will all change and think of Mitchell differently. It would be too hard to not do.

  • Comment number 91.

82 - I think I should clarify my comment about the Bible. I would not know enough to answer a query on it, but I know lots of people who would. They are readily available in my life and they would probably get inappropriately excited if I started asking questions about it, like their prayers had been answered!

84 - my issue with George is that I am never convinced that he knows how much he loves Mitchell and needs him for his humanity. I think he would rather absorb himself in Nina because being in a relationship is "normal" and shun things that that relationship sees as wrong, which could be Mitchell. I need George to place Mitchell higher in his awareness. He must know that Mitchell needs him because of how he has saved him both physically in BH1 and mentally in BH2, but I think he's too swift to become self-absorbed and forget others... I don't want it to be George and Mitchell in the cage at the end of BH3.

  • Comment number 92.

90 - Which is why George didnt ask what happen before they left the house and wahat happened in the factilcty.

  • Comment number 93.

Thinking about these Mitchell death theories plus Lia's comments about Annie and Mitchell being brought together by "fate", I think the only way Annie could move on happily would be with Mitchell, perhaps he dies and a door appears for her?

I don't think Mitchell is going to die soon though (or I hope not) That's for the final series in 10 years time. :D

  • Comment number 94.

93 - But AT isnt immortal hes gna age and look differnt.

91 - I would hate to see George and Mitchell in that cage on a full moon u can imagine them both cryin and sayin there last good byes.

  • Comment number 95.

91+94 that would be horrible don't even think that

  • Comment number 96.

If that happened i would be tryin so hard not to cry so my mum and sister wont be laughin at me.

  • Comment number 97.

88 - Annie! Hello! I've missed you! Are you well? You so shouldn't bother with me on twitter - I am a none-engager. I listen, but rarely speak. Here I speak.

86 - thank you for the trailer - brilliant! I have lost all faith in imdb!

90 - if Annie and George listen to the love in their gut, they will only see their love of Mitchell grow in light of knowing about Box Tunnel. It isn't easy, especially in the face of other voices, but in the Box Tunnel they can see just how important their support and friendship of Mitchell is and how vital it must be for them to walk alongside him. He is a monster (to quote someone...) and walks on an edge, but he can stay clean with love and support; turn your back on him and you leave him to massacre his way through life. George and Nina must know what he got up to in Censsa, they must recognise where he was at - the Box Tunnel is not so out of that character for that. But look at his remorse which is what they live with daily and they know he's got potential to be good.

  • Comment number 98.

Them in the cage with Herrick cheerin out side with the other vampires.

  • Comment number 99.

91 - George knows how much he needs Mitchell, we can see that in ep 8 last season George despite getting to safety with Nina heads back into the facility to get Mitchell as soon as he knows he's there.

I think more is that he needs to work through how he sees Mitchell through self imposed rose tinted glasses and see what he has done and come to terms with who his friend is so that he can help him.

"About what happened before you left the house about what I did in the facility"
"I can't look at you and think,"

That is where the relationship needs work not in focusing on Mitchell more but on accepting who Mitchell is, through that and through Nina pushing that they might stand a better chance of getting on together.

    See they do need Nina.
