Yay! maybe first if the blog doesn't start hating me like it has all morning :P

  • Comment number 2.

Oh look - shiney new blog - off for a watch!

  • Comment number 3.

    more behind the scenes yay!!

  • Comment number 4.

I do love the 'behind the scenes' clips. :o)

  • Comment number 5.

DM's voice - smoooooth - he doesn't want to get sexy or flirty? He's obviously doing it without even trying! :-) Love behind the scenes stuff. Thanks team!

  • Comment number 6.

@ Saint from previous blog could she not be in a flashback of cutler's showing how he was made??

  • Comment number 7.

    Hal-lelujah

    "We'll see about that"

  • Comment number 8.

I always find it really weird when you get used to hearing an actor with one voice then you hear them in an interview and their real voice is completely different. Love watching the interviews!

  • Comment number 9.

Oh yay, behind the scenes stuff!, i love these, i love finding out the explanations behind the scene, the reasons and the actors and crew going about their stuff. I find it all extremely fascinating.

And lovely (and slightly disconcerting) to hear Damien's natural accent, i keep expecting to hear those upper class dulcet tones of Hal's.

  • Comment number 10.

Youtube link for us foreigners: :)

  • Comment number 11.

Loving all this behind the scenes stuff, great to see the real actors behind the new cast, even if it is only short!

  • Comment number 12.

    Carrying on from previous blog.

Saint, I wondered about Rachel Cutler too, i hope we find out next week.

And pure speculation, wouldn't it be a shock if there was an ole switcheroo in place for the season finale, Hal goes over to the dark side and Cutler steps into the light (or on the good side)....that would make things interesting for the fifth season (and there is me being super confident that the show WILL get a fifth season and not IF)

  • Comment number 13.

@saint and dramalovely: I really hope this means we'll see how Cutler is recruited.

  • Comment number 14.

    @sasha
    can't open link

will have to sort out laptop

    @drama

yes, you are right , very well could be
    if flashback
is very old lady in 2012 ... or dead
    if no flashback
    is descendant
as we all are pinning for Cutler's flashback...
well, happy to go with the flow

Cutler flashback please, like when we had McNair's at the beginning of episode 7 season 3 come to think of it...
    history repeating itself

  • Comment number 15.

@rubyrosettared OF COURSE there will be a series 5!!! I share your super confidence and will challenge any one who says otherwise to a duel of some description! But Hal can't go bad, not permanently, maybe a little bit then repent...

  • Comment number 16.

I didn't think Damien Molony could get any sexier after watching him play Hal, then he was interviewed. Thats just made my day of Uni work ten times better :) Thanks!!

  • Comment number 17.

    @ruby
    hello

yes, and TW was planning to ty about Mitchell going to the dark side until the 'preciouss' was dwarfnapped to New Zealand
and trust me on that one, I would break my ole fan heart to see Hal going to the dark side but I see the logic in it; Hal is a time bomb waiting to explode

Culer becoming the nice vampire? doing a Mitchell: I choose them over the Old Ones; this team a very young- young for vampire- one; less knowledgable about the rules, but able because he is 'modern' to connect with our times

yet Cutler has the ambition, not the gravitas and despair of what we call 'good vampires'... hoping you are wrong, I want to keep my good Hal

  • Comment number 18.

Yayyy another BTS clip! :D You are spoiling us this week Rebecca!

Love these little insights and also love DM's real accent, shame he couldn't just be Irish as Hal (it wouldn't work nearly as well and clearly not an option after Mitchell but I love that accent!)

Watching that clip has just made me realise why I love the character of Hal so much, he actually really epitomises everything that I love about BH in general. He has a very dark side, a lot of personal demons and struggle, every minute it seems it could all go wrong with the most terrible consequences imaginable but at the same time he's hilariously funny and his way of dealing with everyday things is just so hilarious and cute you can't help but fall in love with him!

  • Comment number 19.

15 - I think we need to take a leaf out of Annie's book (is that even how the saying goes? I'm having a mental block), and be completely in denial about the very small possibility of no Series 5...just like she's in denial about Tom's swimming pool!!

  • Comment number 20.

Hal says in his prequel that he goes in cycles of being bad and being good to paraphrase so with Leo's death and Pearl crossing over with him and everything that's happened thus far in S4 makes me wonder if he's coming to the end of a 'good' cycle, especially with Cutler on the scene, whatever their history may be.

And i hope we get to the end of season four with Cutler still alive, BH likes to kill of their bad guys far too often for my liking ;) please let this one survive!!!! he's rather awesome i think :D

  • Comment number 21.

@Saint much as I would love to see Hal's dark side I agree I don't want to see him change from the guy he is now, he's too good! I do think if he did fall off the wagon he'd be more likely to be able to get back to himself though, he's definitely much better at it than Mitchell was!

  • Comment number 22.

Afternoon everyone! Ooh I love these behind the scenes videos. Thanks to the BH production team and Miss Rebecca for making these available for us.

I agree with Nikki, Sasha, mrsbarrowboy, Oletaolyte and everyone who believes this may be the last series for Annie and baby Eve. *sniff* Does anyone know of any shops where we can procure a cage for an Ugg boot wearing ghost?

@Ruby, I've been thinking the same thing all morning - Hal and Cutler are going to swap sides in Series 5.

There will of course be a Series 5, either that or the Ö÷²¥´óÐã will have to deal with a lot of angry pitchfork and burning torch wielding fans.

  • Comment number 23.

@saint...yes I want to keep good Hal too, or mostly good is fine. I would enjoy seeing 2037 evil Hal, but then see good HAl win in 2012. Can't wait for next week. Sunday is too far away.

  • Comment number 24.

I would love to see Hal struggle with his darker side and come to the end of season four with his sobriety intact but i really don't think that's going to happen. His world is completely upside down, Tom isn't Leo, doesn't have his strength or maturity to deal with Hal and his quirks and routines and therefore i think Hal's fall is inevitable (and it will be no one's fault but Hal's before i'm told off!)

  • Comment number 25.

Hal and Cutler swapping sides would be interesting but I can't see it happening for a whole season, maybe just one episode? If many of us are right about their past though I'm not sure Cutler would want to be on the opposite side to Hal, I reckon he might be pretty keen to impress him, if Hal went bad he'd probably love to join in!

I've been thinking the same about Annie, it just seems to be building up to something big for her, and she hasn't developed real friendship with Tom and Hal the way they have with each other.. All her time is devoted to Eve and while she likes having them around it seems she's still missing the others too much to really be ready to move on.. Wouldn't surprise me at all if she found her door at the end of this series :( If the baby has to go, it's possible she'll have to do that to save FW/Eve who could then become the new ghost.. apologies if others have speculated this already on here, I've been having trouble keeping up!

  • Comment number 26.

@oleta Yes that's what I am hoping for too *crosses fingers really tight and wishes on the moon*... though saying that I still don't think it sounded like DM on the radio in ep1, but then the way the story is going I guess it might have been, after all we know he can do different accents!

  • Comment number 27.

I'd actually quite like to see evil Hal, but just for a little while. DM's a great actor, and I really think Hal has a lot of potential to be the best bad guy BH has ever had. But, like I said, only temporarily.

  • Comment number 28.

@JimJamJamieJoo Agreed! Maybe a little slip up in 2012 just enough to keep us worried, and a few nice long flashbacks/flashforwards to Lord Harry in the past and that other future timeline that will clearly be wiped out of existence by the end of the series?

I still don't think it's him on the radio. It's not the wrong accent exactly, just doesn't sound like his voice! The more I watch the show and become familiar with his voice the more convinced I am - watch the clip above his accent is different but you can still tell it's the same voice. The voice on the radio sounds like an older man to me!

  • Comment number 29.

Lol@rentaghost Yeah Hal could be affecting an american accent just to sing New York, New York!
@ Nic....but by 2037 Hal will be an 'older man!' ;)

  • Comment number 30.

@oleta lol true, in one way but he'll still sound the same! That sounds like the voice of a man who is older than DM to me. Just my opinion but I really don't think it's him!

  • Comment number 31.

    @nic @rent
it seems we are all speculating the same directions

    - how to fit the implications of a film with infants and toddlers
    - Annie's own unfinished business and she was planning on children
    -Baby Eve and Future Eve
    but not forgetting that
"history doesn't repeat itself. It just stutters out the same truths,
over and over" so Time could be ever so lsightly altered with different oucomes like those big meteorites heading toward Earth yet missing it...
    - and that would introduce us to a really different sort of supernatural ; yes, I know, bear with me, Re-INCARNATION WITH A TWIST
(THOUGHT THE nEW YORK guy was Mark Gatiss?)

  • Comment number 32.

Mmm..lots of good thoughts from you all- has to be series five, surely too much to wrap up in 2 last episodes? Also have dodgy feelings about longevity of our Annie, hope we're wrong though.
Love these behind scenes, just makes me wish I'd chosen another profession, would live to work on the scenery set-ups.

  • Comment number 33.

I'm just hoping N stands for Norbert...

  • Comment number 34.

FW switcheroo with Baby Eve, solving numerous issues
LC can leave the show: story accomplished
Annie carrying her baby Eve moves to AL, because we all know that Mitchell was the love of her life and this is canon as said by LC in interviews so no love interest for our ghost
New spirit/ghost or who knows 'angel' in HH, Mirroring Annie in the library -season3 trailer reading about Heaven and Hell with Hal as a daemon ... and potential love interest
Allison and Tom, facing real big bad wolves. Tully was not a bad guy, a lost soul but not a bad soul. and more vamps and other supernaturals... yes we mean Aliens this time...hee hee. what, no Aliens... pfff...spoilsports you all….sniff….

  • Comment number 35.

lol@Lizzy T I love yoursense of humour, that creased me up!

  • Comment number 36.

    @LizzyT Norbert! Lol!

I hope we're all wrong about Annie :( But I am still amazed at just how well everyone involved in BH has pulled off the cast changes, they've made us love Tom and Hal more than enough to hold up the show on their own without any of the original cast, not many shows could do that and stay fresh and interesting!

  • Comment number 37.

@29/30 I agree Nic, its an older actor and a different actor, my money's still on Mark Gatiss.

Really like these behind the scenes clip as they are nice and long! Too often things like this elsewhere are about 40 seconds long and leave you feeling more frustrated than anything!

I'm know a lot of people on here have been looking forward to he Hal/Cutler meeting. I think we all just KNEW there was a bit of back story there! When H and A visited that journalists hotel room I was sure cutler would still be there.

    * I suppose a SPOILER warning is kinda needed here for those you haven't seen puppy love/next weeks trailer. *

So it looks like Hal falls off the wagon next week...well not completely off (as we don't actually see him physically killing someone) but he drinks a glass of blood and is being dragged along behind the wagon as he clings on with his fingertips!

  • Comment number 38.

And they called it Puppy Loveeee

  • Comment number 39.

just so you know we are not alone in loving PUPPY LOVE

    SEASON FIVE

    WE NEED A SEASON FIVE

SENDING PLENTY OF GOOD VIBES to mr and mrs Ö÷²¥´óÐã

  • Comment number 40.

I feel certain sure we'll have a S5. I also feel certain sure it'll break my heart to see Hal go bad - but the snippet of next week doesn't look hopeful so I've prepared for *another* broken heart this series - what with Hal and Annie! How many do you think you can have before it shatters completely?

  • Comment number 41.

I'm still not entirely convinced baby Eve has to die to save the world, my theory isn't really a spoiler but for anyone that hasn't read the book...

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    ---------------------------------SPOILER ALERT----------------------------------
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Just in case (and I'm being a little dramatic)
Next episode is "Making History" i.e the title of Stephen Fry's book about making sure Hitler was never born and the world becomes worse as a result... possible plot? Though this has probably been brought up already.

  • Comment number 42.

oh no i really hope annie doesnt go i really like her in this series. but someone said (think it was mikey?) that she could pass over with eve type of thing(cant remember exactly what he said) that sounds convincing to me. its better than a staking a little baby!!

and i would love cutler to be in the next series- i reckon they will do one cos we've all been so positive about this one havent we....he is such a good actor! oh and to me it looks like hal could be cutlers maker, it would be so funny if he was, i would love that.

i really want to say something but im not sure if its a spoiler. i dont think it is its just a question, so ill leave a little gap

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

i looked at the credits for ep8 did anyone else?

  • Comment number 43.

    @rentaghost

I think you're thinking along the right lines....I can't help feeling that since FW now officially Eve has now contacted Annie, she will inevitably ask her to kill her baby self......and since Emrys told her that her "unfinished business " might not be a "good thing" she might be tempted. Because killing a baby obviously isn't a good thing but FWNOE would convince her it was for the "greater good". Even is this would cause more harm than good. I'm with you on the Baby's needing to die not being as simple as FW seems to think.

  • Comment number 44.

    @Leanne
I have a horrible little feeling that Annie might be making an exit at the end of this series or around the beginning of next. :(

  • Comment number 45.

Afternoon all! Just a flying visit, probably. Waving to Fleem and Sunny, from can't quite remember which blog, are you still here in UK?...starting to lose track of which blog I'm on...the trail of breadcrumbs I lay down to help me find my way, was eaten by Lycan's rabbit...

  • Comment number 46.

It occurs to me that one of the reasons FW is dressed as she is (remember we wondered why she changed clothes to die?) is so that she will fit in if she comes back into 2012. She would have a rough idea what the fashions would be, altho I imagine they were hard tofind in 2037, and she would know from Annie that you're stuckin the clothes you die in.

  • Comment number 47.

although i will be devestated if annie goes, we will just get a new ghost like we got a new vamp. we were all sad when mitchell and george died and they wont be forgotton or 'replaced' but im sure we will love the new characters like we love hal and tom. the show can still go on! it sounds like im writing LC off already and the poor girl might not even be going! but do you get my drift?

  • Comment number 48.

@28 - Yeah that's kinda what I was thinking of, it'd be really interesting to see!

I've been really worried about Annie too, but for a different reason. She's changing. Back to Series 1 she'd have never dreamt of killing someone, she hadn't even been in a fight until one of the later S1 episodes. Now she can quite easily kill, and even wants to kill again which she admitted on Ep5. We know she's aware that it changes you from what she said to Tom in Ep6. I'm just worried we're losing Annie...she could be building up to something she does in the last episode of S4.

The theory of her passing over with baby Eve is indeed an interesting (if not scary) one as well.

  • Comment number 49.

@46 yes thats a good point about her clothes. i know id want to get dollied up and make sure my lippie was on tho! i wouldnt want to pop it first thing in the morning with me rollers in! not a lady like sight ha ha

  • Comment number 50.

im going to watch the ep again now despite the fact that I only watched it for the first time this morning (obsessed much????) :)

  • Comment number 51.

    What if you died naked?

  • Comment number 52.

51 - ROFL! What a thought - enough to put you off your tea - Barbaric!

  • Comment number 53.

I know, I'd be looking for my door ASAP. Hopefully on the "other side" the powers that be would take pity on you and provide some sort of solution?

  • Comment number 54.

Hiya =) I've been reading for ages, though never posted, but I was thinking about what Emrys said to Annie about how unifinished business isn't always a good thing... That has to be a pointer for a future episode. I can't help but think Annie might end up doing something bad to be good - if that makes any sort of sense lol. Also, completly unrelated, but the promo pic of Hal at the top looks nothing like him

  • Comment number 55.

50 - I'm just as bad! I watched Ep5 three times on the same night it aired.

52 - When Kemp said tea is Barbaric, I almost high fived the TV because calling your food 'tea' is one of my biggest hates LOL.

  • Comment number 56.

And your mother's advice about always having clean underwear in case you get run over by a bus...see your mother does always know best...in the BH world, you could well get hit by a bus...

  • Comment number 57.

    @scotch

    HAHA

Whenever I haven't shaved my legs in a while, I always get scared I'll have an accident, break my leg and get a really hot doctor treating me at the hospital. This reminded me of that!

  • Comment number 58.

    Good Afternoon All.

How are we all this afternoon?

Loving the behind the scenes stuff. Rebecca, thank you once again!

Naked in the afterlife? Surely some celestial robes would be provided!

  • Comment number 59.

Five cupcakes on Neville...though I have a complaint for the Cupcake Gambling Association...I believe there have been suspicious cupcake betting patterns...a late flood of cupcakes from a W.Herrick...we are disallowing them on the grounds that he may have been looking over Lord T's shoulder last year...

  • Comment number 60.

I don't know what I'd rather wear in the afterlife... something nice or something comfy? Hope to find the ultimate combo of the two and hope I was wearing it on the day I ghostified?

  • Comment number 61.

Hal: I preferred the dowry system.
    Tom: Yeah. Girls are brilliant!!

Best exchange of the episode!!!! :D

  • Comment number 62.

41@RentAGhost, I like your theory on 'Making History', it's ok, I've read the book. But as we know LT is partial to borrowing titles from different sources so this could be a good point.

The plot of BH is following a similar thread to the Stephen Fry book!

@60. I think the lesson to be learned is to always look your best.

56@Scotch, my mum always bestows the virtue of clean underwear! Must be a Scottish thing. But when did busses become the biggest threat to kids up and down the country?

  • Comment number 63.

    Hey bloggers! :D
good god, I wasn't on the blog since saturday morning so I've spent sooo long trying to catch up, I'm going blind!
First off, I LOVED this episode I am officially christening it my favourite of the series! The perfect balance of comedy and tragedy, and great great show for all -Hal, Annie and Tom(cus let's be honest it was kind of his episode)
I'm not going to try pick/list a favourite moment or it'll take you about 56minutes to read, but the line "Why have you put me in a cupboard?" absolutely broke me in half with laughter!
Never have I been more excited after seeing the "next time" trailer, quite concerned still for Alex's future, because I really liked her, really witty :D I actually think Hal did quite well to walk away from her, she was dangerously close to that dream woman, the willing victim "I won't even look you in the eye".

And I agree with the points ya'll have been making about Annie's journey maybe winding down :C I know it's too late because it's already been written and filmed but PLEASE LORD TOBY KEEP ANNIE A LITTLE LONGER! At least for some of the series 5 we *WILL* be getting :P

And is anybody else hoping that FW/Eve will mention Hal and Tom in the next episode? She called Annie "mum" I will dance the charleston if she calls Hal "dad" :D

  • Comment number 64.

Morning... Er, afternoon all! Is the mess all cleared up? *looks around sparkling clean blog penthouse* Good job! (as our American friends like to say) You even got the bits of broken crockery out of the sensory garden.

437.(from previous blog) @lizzy t: I didn't like Allison much either. All that 'nuh-uh wrong' stuff got on my nerves and I was convinced by her change from geeky to murderous and sexy... Oh well, she's gone now.

Emrys and cupboard scene and wreckage scene at end. Also most scenes with Tom and Hal.

  • Comment number 65.

BBD, have you forgotten how we say thank you to bus drivers up here, when we get off the bus, even if they have driven like a maniac? There's a reason for that...you never know when a bus will appear like a ghost, to send you to the afterlife... :)

  • Comment number 66.

If, as someone on here has suggested, Eve chose that outfit specifically I can't think why. A maxi dress is so restricting!

@62 now that you've suggested it, I can't help but agree with you. Several members of my extended family have quirks pertaining specifically to underwear.

  • Comment number 67.

    @oleta

yes, why did she have to change her outfit
after all, there is a war going on
and she gets dressed like going to a garden party???
    must mean something

    @jimjam

the purpose of the Emrys story is to remind Annie that killing somebody beside being addictive is in fact a very sad event. Most people do not do it on purpose, IT IS MORE ACCIDENTAL IN OUR SOCIETIES, yet one feels resp0onsible as one does and certainly not addicted or elated. I see Emrys as a sober reminder to keep our Annie the nice person she is. one has the right to play with matches; matches may burn your fingers and better a blister on one's finger than becoming an arsonist.

  • Comment number 68.

65@Scotch, I always thank the bus drivers! I'd never considered that a number 18 could be the end of me though. Although maniacs run in my family being that both my Dad and Uncle are/were bus drivers!

And i shoud have used past tense about my Mum, at my age she doesn't need to remind me of the virtues of clean underwear! I can do that all by myself!

    I'm a big boy!

  • Comment number 69.

65: doesn't everyone say 'thankyou' to bus drivers?
66: but looksa lot more innocent and less intimidating than her combat gear, I suppose.

I love this 'working from home' lark. Altho not getting much 'working' done. ;)

  • Comment number 70.

The wardrobe facilities of the human/werewolf underground...wonder if M&S are still around then...the cardie looked familiar...

  • Comment number 71.

    @scotch mist

EVERY flatmate I've ever had who isn't Scottish, just couldn't get their heads around saying thank you to a bus driver! You've cracked it!

  • Comment number 72.

museums - romantic, educational and cheaper than rohypnol!!!

They should definitely put that on the booklets!!!

  • Comment number 73.

71 - how can you not say thanks to a bus driver?! I'd feel like a b*tch if I didn't :D There is an evil bus driver on my route who's overcharged me few times and I indulged in the extremely passive-aggresive act of walking by without a word, nose in the air (but be warned, it's addictive Annie! That's how it starts!)

completely unrelated - does anyone know the name of the song that was playing at the end when Tom and Allison are saying goodbye? It were well good.

  • Comment number 74.

    @catriona
then you take the first available cloth you find, hence we can now conclude that all thoise ghosts ensconced ointo shrouds were real peeps who died in their birthday suit
... mind boggling at the numbers of peeps draped like Romans walking along the corridors.
    Marcus Didius FALCO?
err , no. John Smith, died in... interesting circumstances... or even worse flashing....

  • Comment number 75.

@55. Agreed! Tea is what you drink; dinner is what you eat - people think I'm weird about how pedantic I am about it :P

  • Comment number 76.

73 I ALWAYS say thanks! But it seems in other cultures saying thanks to the bus driver is lunacy! For example my flatmate is french and she just didn't get it...apparently it's almost unheard of in France. Obviously it's not just in Scotland that it happens but everyone here is pretty religious about it. You don't just say "thanks", it's "thanks Driver" Haha. I go one step further when he/she is a tw*t, I don't ignore them....I do like saying it in a rather pointed and sarcastic way!

  • Comment number 77.

Is it not just polite to say thanks to a bus driver? Why wouldn't you?

  • Comment number 78.

awh i didnt notice the first time that Tom cant read the word emotional when Emrys shows him the newspaper article!!!

  • Comment number 79.

76@catriona. It's nice to be nice, isn't it? Not just reserved for bus drivers but taxi drivers too! Even though they are the true maniacs. Certainly the private hire guys of Glasgow!

  • Comment number 80.

BBD, don't start me on the private hiretaxi drivers in Glasgow...I am zipping my lip...thank God for the Glasgow Underground...that's all I'm saying...better go. Writing something...yes Saint, that...

  • Comment number 81.

76 - hahaa I can picture that! flick your hair at them and go "thenkyOO" with the sarky little inflection :D I'm Irish and in Dublin I actually find it kind of entertaining if I'm sitting near the front hearing how all the different people say thank you - lots of "thanks bud" "sound" "cheers" "look after yerself" and for some reason old ladies love saying "bye now!"

  • Comment number 82.

Most of the bus drivers are horrible where I live, but we always say thanks anyway. It's especially annoying because I live near a University campus, so naturally most of the buses go there, and I sometimes go onto the campus in order to catch a bus. And the drivers refuse to believe I stil qualify for a child ticket, coz they assume I'm a student :( very annoying

  • Comment number 83.

why I can't see FE calling Hal Dad, because FE as a ghost is the ideal woman for a vampire. Dead, not temptation regarding ghost blood, unless you plan on icecream headache. As for.... mumbles...., my bet is that the issue between Mitchell and Annie was simply psychological erectile dysfunction.

    @scotch and bigbaddog

when it comes to buses, i remind you of a bus controller for Hogwarts school looking uncannily like Edgar Wyndham; one of his descendants probably

80@ Scotch. Lol, ok i won't get you started! You, me and catriona have taken the blog on a weird tangent!

Now, where were we? Tom must only have had a basic education from McNair. I suppose being on the move all the time kinda hindered that!

79 Private hire ones are always the best craic. About the only middle aged men who can hold their own in a dialogue with several steaming female students, who have lost all sense of what is and isn't acceptable to say to someone you've just met.

    64. Oops, should have said 'was not' convinced.

Yeah his education seems to have been a bit disjointed - can recite facts about compound interest but can't pronouce emotional... well I guess that's living in a ww van for you!

Can I also just say - after the rewatch - that it was nice to see the Scottish contingent represented in BH this week (Thanks Kate Bracken!) there aren't enough Scottish characters in BH... though thats just my, lsightly biased, opinion!

84 BBD Yes, I liked the detail they wrote in when it came to having Tom read things. His upbringing would mean that he might struggle and be a little behind when it came to that. It's a fine line though, as Tom certainly isn't stupid, his difficulty roots from his nurture not his nature. I think they have handled this very well in that sense.

In Germany we never thank the bus drivers, either. It's unheard of. *lol*
We have really long buses here, with at least three, sometimes four doors, so you're not even allowed to leave through the door at the front, it's just for people getting on the bus.
The only time we ever say thank you is when the bus driver nicely opens up the front door to let you out when you're sitting right in the front and can't be bothered to walk to one of the other doors to get off. *lol*

87 Up until now Scotland has just been that place where George was cursed. But the problem with Scottish actors is that I find it even easier to dissect their performances! I live within 20 mins of where Karen Gillan is from and sometimes her delivery leaves me cringing! Last night's ep didn't come close to that thankfully.

I don't know, pop out for 20 minutes and now we're talking about bus drivers! I always say thank you, though we never did in my native Canada. But then not as many people use buses there, unless you're in a really big city.

    Good afternoon everybody ^.^
I'm just going to catch up on the posts and watch the clip.

Should actually say that I am *from* within 20 mins of where she's from!

@catriona Yeah thankfully Kate was fab. And there wasn't any stereotype (which I've seen too much of on tv) either, other than her accent the only 'scottish' thing about her was the tartan inside her muddy boots! (which were also fab!)

I loved Alex' accent. Hearing Scottish always makes me feel a bit at home (had a Scottish boyfriend for a while). And I don't know, it somehow fit her character, she was so easy-going and I liked the contrast to Hal's RP accent.

91 I would imagine it's similar here in Scotland. If you live out in the sticks (where I grew up) a bus costs an arm and leg anyway, even if you did manage to catch the 1 every 6 hours! But if you don't say thanks to the driver when your down in Edinburgh doing your Christmas Shoppin' then I WILL tut at you in my head!

    Afternoon!
Ohh I like seeing BTS, it always looks so fun.

Ok gonna try and reply to most discussions:

Don't want Annie to go! SERIES 5 HAS GOT TO HAPPEN!

Hal and Cutler switching, interesting theory but I can't see it happening. Think Cutlers going to suck up to Hal and try to impress him.

FW clothes, it's obvious isn't it? She's a woman, you would want to look your best.

Always thank bus drivers, only once haven't thanked and that was cause he didn't believe I was 15, I wasn't but still thats not the point!

My fave bit from last night (or at least one of the many) was Tom pretending to be a vampire, by using two miniature pencils, when training Allison up.

What did everyone think of the Character Alex?
I loved Kate Bracken's performance, but was Alex really that desperate that she came back to the cafe after being humiliated the first time?

  • Comment number 99.

87,88. Yeah, Tom's 'issues' have been dealt with sensitively. From his need for a family and a home to his upbringing and lack of education. It makes the character even more likeable. He's a cold blooded killer of vampires but we feel more empathy towards him than most.

It's funny, I was thinking you hardly hear that many Welsh accents in the show. Then up pops a Scottish girl. It was good to hear Kate Bracken keep her accent, i half expected her to sound English.

Not that there's anything wrong with English accents. I think Hal's posh accent is brilliant!

94 Kate was good! Female Scottish character is something you HAVE to have a native do in my books. It might sounds ok to a non Scot, but it will almost certainly render something too painful to watch as a Scot if you have someone doing an accent. Isla Fisher (even though she is technically Scottish) in Burke and Hare and Catherine Zeta Jones in that rubbish about Harry Houdini are two good examples! Doesn't seem to be quite so true for male characters. Johnny Lee Miller's Sick Boy being an example.
