i think the las two songs before the radio station change refer to Mitchel and Annie....the the next song after station change "Hello" could refer to the new characters we met in 1st episode.................and interestingly with all this talk of Tom and a bomb..oh look what song is 4th one down..... hmmmmmm

Recognise the songs on the first list, but not the second. Think that shows my age.

Harking back to a comment made on a previous blog about the number of full moons per series, I don't think they're showing them all. If Eve is (by my calculations) about three and a half weeks old in Episode 1, which had a full moon, and by the end of Episode 4 she is three months old, doesn't that mean there were another two full moons in between? Or are my calculations out? Maybe time for another mojito...

@lozzie lo The funny thing is I remember all of the 80's songs from being very much around at the time. I have just had to do the opposite of you and look up all the new stuff.... funnily enough i recognised most of it just didnt know the names of the artists.

Anything loud and headbanging is Tom's - something of that nature always accompanies at least one Tom scene each S4 episode (always perfectly chosen).

And isn't HH so much brighter than in S3?

I don't know *any* of the songs on either list. :-) (not around in the 80s, not listening when the later stuff came out). And I still have "Gotta Go Ö÷²¥´óÐã" stuck in my head thanks to trying to learn the Kirby Dance (still can't).

Well, 'Don't Stand so close' is about a pupil who wants to go out with a teacher. Or something like that. That'll be Adam then. These are definitely all hints on the series!!

I wonder what Hal did once Tom changed the station? Put his apron over his head or just worked the deep-fryer to drown out the music? Tom probably joked about using stakes as earplugs (would a stake through the head kill a vamp?). Hal probably muttered about his shield again (a RED one).

I know quite a few of these songs but there's a lot i'm too young to have heard. First time I've listened to them and got to say, they're way better than whats in the charts now. Wish i was a teenager back then :(

34) i always get jealous of my mum and dad when they talk about the music and how great it was back then, and how everything was way better, compared to what we have now :( i love the films too! all the ones that were before my time are so much better and you can watch them over and over...why cant 2012 be like this?

It's funny, I was only born in '87 and I know all of the '80s songs, expect one, and I know none of the new songs, expet one. ;)

I can't wait for Adam on Sunday. I love Craig Roberts, ive been a huge fan since his Tracy Beaker days (yes i used to watch it and i still do! They've been replaying all the eps with Craig in and he looks so sweet!) and I think that he suits the character of Adam so well!

48. i know exactly what you mean, i downloaded 'American pie' and 'I don't like mondays' the other day because they were on the radio and made me feel nostalgic. It was always Radio 2 in our car, still is, my brother and i have been scared for life, we just can't get on with any 'young' radio stations now :/

51. I know all the kings and queens since william the first. My brother has watched every ep and I know nearly every word of every song. Plus my history teacher is slightly obsessed by it so he plays us songs during the lessons.

I've grown up watching all those shows, Tracy beaker, Young Dracula, Horrible histories, they were great- I'm 15 and i still watch them. My mum's taken to watching Deadly 60 in the mornings hahaha. I think there's quite a range of ages on here, goes to show that being human reaches any audience :)

Ah, another fave show of mine is on, the walking dead. If none of you have watched it, i recommend you watch the first series up until the latest episode. its great, *on FX Friday's at 9* can't beat being human though :)

55. I agree with you! Theres a huge audience, theres teenagers from 13 (im going to guess) to older adults but its the humour and the darkness that drags everyone in to the amazing world of BH.
I saw my first every episode of being human when I was 13, it was the one when Mitchell joins the vampires again and they start recruiting again. I didn't really take much notice of it and changed the channel, then a year later i saw another episode, it was the one with the explosion in the funeral parlour, again i didnt think much about it. Then I bought the series 1 and 2 last January before Series 3 came out, thinking i'd give it another try and I've been hooked since!

Hhmm, obviously picked the wrong blog to put my full moons theory on. Too much music stuff, understandably!

I never liked much CÖ÷²¥´óÐã stuff (except Sarah Jane Adventures - despite being a bit older than the target audience). I'm a 90s child but brought up hearing either my dad's classical stuff (which I largely ignored) or the occasional 70s track from my mum's collection (which I sometimes liked and sometimes ignored). My parents are presumably older than everyone else's here!

Well upon reading some WD reviews its very much a good thread expanded wayyyy too much into billions of episodes - however am enjoying as well.
Ensemble piece like BH really - we cant help having faves but its like a jigsaw people fit together rather nicely.
Unless you are a zombie in which case you fall apart rather nicely. Squelch.

I have watched the WD but not got round to watching series 2 yet.

61 - nope your parents are probably still younger than mine. Mother is 75 and still watching BH. She doesnt get it much. She has no choice but to watch it but was always a SF fan and loves Clive Barker - Dad still apprieciated up til last year until he went through his own door bless at 90.

60. i just checked out your theory, i think the 3 months thing was a slip up, in episode 1 griffin said the old ones will arrive in 2 months, so of 2 months had passed then they would already be here. this is the most amount of episodes we have ever had between full moons though, i really hope that we see one soon, in ep 1 it really looked like they had kicked the transformations up a notch, maybe we will see one in 'Puppy Love'

65 - I agree SP - the moons have been rather convenient. I got confused season 1 with Tully and Im sure there were too many changes there per month, but the passage of time in each episode can really vary.

I'm kinda feeling old and young at the same time! Most of my fav music is from the late 60s 70s and 80s and I mainly recognised the top list.... But I'm only 19! :) and I also love all the cbbc tv mentioned..... Tracy beaker, sarah Jane, horrible histories ( I also know a lot of the song lyrics!) young dracula......
But I'm 19........so a bit old for some of them....... Hmmmm

59. I started watching when i was 13 too! i saw Russell on something for the weekend talking about this new show called Being Human and i decided to give it a try. I didn't really get hooked until series 2 though, as i was pretty obsessed with Heroes when s1 came out

I do a creative writing course and this morning happened to mention my love of scifi and fantasy (someone pitched a mining for gas story called 'Fracking' and I mentioned Battlestar Galactica). They all looked at me like I'd said I was a serial killer!

Watching Walking Dead myself now. Wish there were stronger female characters in it. They've reverted back to being the little women cooking and cleaning! It bugs me.

@64: my parents are younger than yours (late forties) and huge SF fans (Trekkers, but also keen on Babylon 5, Sliders, Quantum Leap and other stuff like that). Sadly, an unfortunate incident two years ago involving my little sister (underage BH fan) quoting Annie's flashback to her original death, with actions, and with a couple of crucial words wrong (just to make it all a bit worse) led to my mother in particular banning my sister from watching BH until further notice (there will probably never be further notice) and deciding never to watch it. I can't even mention it around her. (My dad will listen to my sister and me discussing it but won't watch it. I might convince him one day, though. He did see part of S1 Ep1 - he wandered in while Owen was visiting, and wandered off when Annie was crying over having just discovered that Janey had got her claws into Owen... dear Daddy said he was bored of it by that point. He did miss the best bits of the episode so it's vaguely understandable.) My poor little sister still hasn't seen S3...
@Nikki: you don't happen to know my mum do you? She did some OU creative writing courses. The woman with the Number Four dark (greying) hair and probably wearing a Star Trek T-shirt. Walking boots and an anorak.

Read the new episode teasers - apparently Hal has quite the singing voice. If this means it's good, my ovaries might explode!

Hal 2037 and Eve's bilocation conundrums
If FW had not induced Leo to turn on HH steps, Leo dies in Southend, poor Pearl fades away because of grief, Hal drifts away back to his cycle of violence and rampage and in 2037 NYC falls to the vampire army
Since Hal is in HH , does it mean that all is saved? unless the future alters yet the outcome remains the same, all the roads lead to Rome,
one way or another the vamps win?

secondly , unless TW plans to play it Eastenders, we are stuck with a young, very young Eve for a few years unless, but if TW plays it as a paradoxal timeline switch ??
let's consider that
Eve as in FW is stuck on AL and live Eve is gurgling with some teething issues

Saint, I agree about the likelihood that 2037 future would have included a Hal that went of the rails after losing Leo and Pearl in Southend. So by sending them to HH we'd hope something would have changed.
But I was struck by what Regus said about the end of the vampires, that this WILL happen, even though Griffin was certain things could be changed.

As to Future Eve's growth rate, it was interesting that when she is with the Lieutenant who brings her the third parchment, he says something like..
'I shook your hand, you were only ....' and then doesn't get to finish the sentence, so her age must be significant because why else would they mention it but not give you the info......unless it's just to torture me with extraneous detail!

Just got in, so (apologies) haven't paid too much attention to the new blog posts, but as for the blog itself:

First station is clearly Absolute 80s - and, showing my age, I know every tune. Second station, not a clue, but it sure ain't Radio 4! Must say, of all the indignities heaped on Hal, having him as a regular You and Yours listener did make me laugh. At least it wasn't Woman's Hour...

76- I also hate the 'housewife' thing on WD, its really annoying.

First time i ever watched being human i was in year 8 i think and me and my little brother were watching Ö÷²¥´óÐã three, hoping family guy would come on and being human came on instead, so we decided to watch it. I remember finding it quite scary at first, then we watched the next episode the week after and quickly got obsessed, its been good throughout each series. I did think series three was starting to drag a bit but it redeemed itself with series 4 :)

86: not sure about blog age restrictions. But as for the playlist I only know it because I was in my teens in the 80's! It's weird that it's become acceptable again because my parents thought it was terrible so they only played 60's and 70's music. Luckily I had my own radio!

@90 wish that would cut the ice with my mum! My sister's going out of her mind wanting to know what happens next, poor thing.

@92 It's different for different children I suppose. Perhaps your Mum feels your sister would be less able to cope? I always judge by how gratuitous the violence is (is it really necessary to the story, or is it there instead of good story telling), also how good and gruesome are the effects? As a family we coat the entire front of our house and front garden with fake blood each halloween so there's no fear in gore for my kids because they understood that it was all faked. I wouldn't let them watch walking Dead though, in fact haven't watched it myself because the effects are way too scary!

She's perfectly able to cope with the violence and gore. She sat through the BT20 sequences unpeturbed while I jumped a bit. She's well aware that it's all faked, and able to keep this in mind while watching.
My mum's big problem is that she has decided it must be "like Torchwood on acid" because of my sister's disastrous misquoting of Annie's original death scene...

As we all seem to be announcing ourselves, I am another 90's child that loves music, films and clothes from before I was born, so you are not alone. I'm sure sometimes I was born in the wrong era!

@vampsrule I was 14 when BH started I think it's fine, everyones lovely on here.

Now I've just come back from rewatching ep1,
I have questions:
1.Vampires killed everyone in NYC no recruiting no feeding- does this mean all those soldiers they killed were ww's with their toxic blood?
2.Werewolf recruitment drive, does that mean people volunteering to become ww's and if so who is in control enough in wolf-form to make other ww's without just killing the people?
3.Cutler went to stokers specifically for the meeting, he must be more important and older than we think. Just can't work out how old he is!

Even more confused as to the voice of 2037. It could be Hal, it can't be Hal, it could be Hal etc. My heads going round and round in circles!

Also I cannot believe how I managed to miss the wall of "runes" behind Regus be made up entirely of smiley faces and emoticons!!

82SAINT- really eye opening for me about how Hal would react if left alone in Southend. while I undersood that FW has changed the future by sending them to barry, I did wonder if all 3 of the Southend gang needed to turn up at HH. I suppose FW sending Hal the message after Leo's death would be too late as he would've flipped out

I'm wondering if Eve is a carrier of toxic werewolf blood and perhaps the 'curse' even though she doesn't transform , so that she could infect others, by injection or just a serum of her blood whatever her time of the month;) Perhaps they have tried to infect a large number of people in hopesof poisoning the Vamps feeding stock. But the vamps have got wise to this and stopped feeding indiscriminately, hence the slice and dice in new york, rather than a bitefest.

I am probably completely on the wrong path here...

No, thats why I brought it up it was something that stood out to me; but yeah we're probably both on the wrong path!
