new blog ^^ but can't watch it in Germany v.v bugger...

  • Comment number 2.

This is almost painful! - I can comment but the video isn't quite ready yet! Oh well, it's a pleasure to be near the top of the comments; for a new blog member I'm counting this as an achievement! :D

  • Comment number 3.

Oh yay :D Adam's back, but he's also the same old Adam, haha! Oh, seeing him and Hal together... Can't wait!!

  • Comment number 4.

    'I am a legendary swordsman..' haha, Adam hasn't changed a bit! :)

  • Comment number 5.

    And the YT link.

  • Comment number 6.

WoooHoooo! Opositiv - can't you see the link that Ewan has posted for you?

  • Comment number 7.

@ewan thx for the link (again ^^ in case you didn't see it on the last blog.)

sometimes Adams sexual inuendo is just painful X/ if sombody talked around me like that I'd get the hell out of there *g* I just don't do inuendo...

  • Comment number 8.

    Wooooo,

I love Adam hes just so funny.
    And Craig Roberts is great.

"So you know what ill do if you come any closer Goldie"

  • Comment number 9.

Oh but wait! - Is the teacher a supernatural too? - I'm confused as to how she can see Annie.. And by what she says - does she or does she not mean that she's aware of Adam being a Vampire? Sorry for my silly questions!

  • Comment number 10.

    Just watched the vid

KEELS OVER LAUGHING.......... that teacher reminds me of someone....hmmm..

ROFL! This is going to be brilliant!

  • Comment number 11.

    1. 0positiv you should be very proud of your use of the English venacular.

OMG I am so excited for this episode. I loved becoming human and the idea that we may be learning more about other types of supers is just brilliantly entertaining.

  • Comment number 12.

@MancVamp ja, saw it after I posted the comment ;) well...sometimes I'm just a bit slow...

(aaaand innuendo...with to "n"...my orthography has seen better days...a well...^^)

  • Comment number 13.

And Toms face as ever is an absolute picture. Hang dog and innocent at the same time and always full of wonder except when it comes to vampires.

  • Comment number 14.

    *small spoiler*

I read on the spoilers that 'There's a really good reason why the woman can see Annie'

hahah love how funny he is, i never watched becoming human, is it good?

  • Comment number 15.

Well I suppose I may as well say now - there is a good chance depending on Wi-Fi connections I'll have to catch up on the blog next Saturday - Work. Hopefully where I'm going has Wi-Fi but if not catch up then.

  • Comment number 16.

    @14: it's brilliant.

No, Adam, you were NOT a "legendary swordsman". You didn't dare answer George when he asked whether you'd ever even touched a boob.
    "Mature beyond his years" hahahahaha
The swordsman thing will probably get Hal muttering about his shield (a RED one) again.
    Tom will be totally perplexed.
Annie will cover Eve's ears to stop her hearing this (Eve looked especially sweet in that clip).

Quick question - never mind the lack of baby puke stains, why aren't there any toys strewn around the house?

  • Comment number 17.

@strangebean 9- she is a succubus thats why she can see annie.

  • Comment number 18.

@howlingblue thx, I guess ;) I'm never quite sure if I don't talk like somebody who's never paid attantion in english classes *gg*

  • Comment number 19.

halftw it's worth watching Becoming Human - you get to see more of Adam's personality and just general more of him, I guess - He definitely deepened as a character for me because of Becoming Human :) Oh and thanks for the small spoiler! - That'll stop me worrying on at that until tomorrow evening!!

  • Comment number 20.

Mancvamp. She reminds me of Annette Crosbie the actress who played Victor Meldrews wife.. Close your eyes and give it a listen.

  • Comment number 21.

Adam is total quality. Tomorrow's episode is going to be a cracker.

Got blown out for dinner and seem to have, somehow, rewatched most of series 1 this afternoon/evening. Has reminded me of the greatness of:
Gilbert - just everything, but especially the bit where he riots invisibly at police
Owen - creepy creepy scum, very convincing
Herrick's first appearances - Jason Watkins steals every scene he's in "you're a shark - BE a shark"
Mitchell - so interesting to review in light of Hal's character, and I must agree with most bloggers that Hal takes his "condition" much more consistently seriously and is more honest than Mitchell was. Interesting how many times "managing my condition" is mentioned in series 1 - and it's always about George not vampires!

Am I incapable of a short comment? I'll shut up now...

  • Comment number 22.

17 - Only suspected so far.

As for Becoming human it's on YT so should be easy to find.

    20 - She's her daughter.

  • Comment number 23.

i was worried for a sec that i just did a spoiler! i thought everyone knew? we were blogging about her in the other blogs so i didnt think twice about it. sorry to people who didnt know x

  • Comment number 24.

@ewan you said she was a 'you know what' so i believed you!!

  • Comment number 25.

Ewan -noooooooooo :( Hope there is WiFi for you wherever you are working!

20 - howlingblue OH YES she does remind me a bit of her! ROFL!

Opositiv - you do just fine! Don't worry about your English - it's what you say that counts - no need for anyone to worry about silly Prescriptive linguistic nonesense here!

  • Comment number 26.

I said she could be - not that she was.

if she turns out to be, well we shall see. I like the first song quote from Adam as most people like the song.

  • Comment number 27.

Leanne it's ok!! - I've only joined the blog in the past week so that's probs why I didn't see it :)

Silly newbie question!! - what's a succubus, please? - I'd rather have one of you lovely people to explain it - Google very easily scares me...

  • Comment number 28.

A female daemon takes the form of a woman feeds on Lust

  • Comment number 29.

Strangely enough, I never liked Adam until I watched Becoming Human today. I thought I should finally do that before the Adam episode tomorrow and all of a sudden I loved Adam! How is that even possible? *lol* I thought he was just horrible on Being Human!

Concerning Mitchell and Hal from the previous blog discussion:

Someone said that they think Mitchell didn't enjoy the debauchery in the same way that Hal does. I agree.
I always had the feeling that Mitchell loved the killing and the power etc. it gave him only in the moment that he did it. He loved the rush and was immersed in it, but it was always frantic bloodlust with him, always messy. It was always some loss of control.

But with Hal I get the impression that even when he's drinking blood and creating a massacre (like we saw in the flashback) he is still very much in control. Now that he's been off blood for so long, I can imagine him losing his control in favour of his bloodlust at first, but generally speaking, he likes the evil things he does, separately from his bloodlust. Keeping a girl in a cellar for months, psychologically torturing her, that is not someone in a frenzy.

I guess what I want to say is that he is potentially worse than Mitchell ever was, because when he indulges himself again, the evil seduces him, he starts liking it again too much to WANT to stop. Mitchell always only seemed to like it in the moment he did it.

For me this makes Hal a lot creepier and more dangerous, the fact that he is so controlled in his killing, but it also makes him a lot more interesting and frankly more attractive. Am I weird? *lol*

  • Comment number 30.

    25. @MancVamp a hooray for all the nonconformists who don't care about silly prescriptive linguistic nonsense :) guess I'm just really damaged in that area with my dad working for a newspaper and always correcting my German XD makes one selfconcious in everything regarding language...I'll stop the rambling about my lack of confidence now...X/

@StrangeBean a succubus is a kind of female demon that feeds of a mans lifeforce while having intercourse with him while he's asleep

  • Comment number 31.

Yeh id also like an explanation of that hahah

  • Comment number 32.

Ewan I didnt know that, you do learn some useful information on here.

  • Comment number 33.

27 - a succubus is a female demon that appears in people's dreams and seduces them, if you have sex with them too many times you may die/lose your health. The male version is incubus.

Fun facts: Merlin is said to have been the son of an incubus, and Lilith, the first woman God made in Abrahamic mythology (she was later replaced with Eve due to refusing to be with Adam, because unlike Eve she was made the same way as Adam and was equal, whereas Eve was made from Adam's rib)

Maybe the story of Lilith and Eve has something to do with being human mythology...

  • Comment number 34.

@Laminamara you are very much among friends on that. Right. Yawn! Bed time. Night nights. BH day tomorrow. x

  • Comment number 35.

Thanks ewan!! - More/different types of supernaturals appearing could be very interesting - I wonder if it'll turn out to be true :)

Laminara - you're right there! - Hal's way and control, honesty and knowledge of himself and his condition makes him both more likeable for some than Mitchell, but at the same time immediately more dangerous! Makes thing very interesting indeed :) The point too you make that he always knows what he's doing - even when falling off the wagon, immediately makes him more interesting to me too now I see it!

  • Comment number 36.

28- oooh yessss! Sounds about right to me.

29 - Laminamara - Me too - that's exactly how I felt about Adam until I watched BcH - and I had a whole new perspective on Adam - felt much more sympathetic towards him - it was great, wasn't it?

30 - Opositiv - good - you just have fun on the Blog. x

  • Comment number 37.

Laminamara totally agree the potential for Hal if he does come off the wagon it will be wonderful to watch in a Dexter the serial killer kind of way. Hal really practices his self control in a pent up kind of way. He is wound tighter than a tight person from tightville

  • Comment number 38.

29- i totally and completely agree with you, on everything you said :)

All those things he did to people, he did them because he actually enjoy's doing it. if you didn't like it, you wouldn't drag it on like that, keeping her alive in a dungeon, you'd just kill her and feel bad about it afterwards...Mitchell had like lapses in control and killed people but always felt bad about it afterwards, where as Hal drags it on and kills people for fun. But i think that is what's so compelling about his character, the fact that he feels bad because he likes it.

  • Comment number 39.

34 - Night Rebecca! Sleep well Check the closet for Zombies! Mwahhahahhaaa!

I've never really thought about what Hal would be like and the lengths he would go to when he is off the wagon, but yes... the evidence suggests that if kept a girl (Nadia) locked up in the cellar for months, then when 'that' Hal comes back it would be a sight to see!

  • Comment number 40.

seems like all the ladies on the blog are suckers for bad boys ^^ (pun intended...) me beeing no exception *g*

but I still don't get why Hal after 500 years of enjoying carnage and torture suddenly decided to go cold turkey...

  • Comment number 41.

@40: it wasn't the first time. Watch Hal's Prequel.

Just rewatching - there's a dog kennel in the Honolulu Heights garden, and a shopping trolley... (visible when Tom is scrubbing the "chest of drawers").

  • Comment number 42.

On the 'next time' bit Hal is in bed and that woman's talking to him...whats going on there...

  • Comment number 43.

41- in the prequel he just says that he's sometimes sombody kind, doesn't say he's off blood when he's kind.

  • Comment number 44.

@ Opositiv - But perhaps that's how he describes himself when he's off blood? - i.e. in his mind, in order to be 'kind' he must be off blood? Could it be a sign as to just how guilty he feels about liking the killings? Remeber too that his age might bring a deeper meaning to the word - perhaps 'kind' back in the past meant a lot more than just being 'nice' to people?

  • Comment number 45.

i think Hal went cold turkey because he wanted to redeem himself for all the things he has done. He said in his prequel 'I want you to tell me that there is hope, that you can save me'. I think he feel's bad for liking what he does too much and he doesn't want to live his life as a bad person. Maybe he see's it as being the least he can do to pay the people back who he killed...to say that he's sorry and he wont do it again and that he's going to be a nice person from now on, just my thoughts anyway :)

  • Comment number 46.

0positiv maybe Hal went cold turkey because he went too far on one occasion and shocked himself. Maybe he had his doubts over a period of time ..... then he met Leo. Leo being the first 'other' that he could talk to and be able to see what he was doing was wrong for him then. Leo offered his help thats what it took to end the rampages for him.

I dont think it was sudden the inkling must have been there for some time.

  • Comment number 47.

44- @StrangeBean or maybe it just means "kill them fast" instead of "torture them until they break" :)

  • Comment number 48.

42 - if she's a succubus, she's a demon who talks to men in their sleep and tries to seduce them. And if she's successful she can make their health deteriorate *spoiler*: Hal and Tom are supposed to act strangely in the next ep, so a deterioration of their mental health?

By the way, I posted earlier about the link between Lilith the succubus and Eve, the first (technically not) woman

  • Comment number 49.

@howlingblue: A tight person from tightville! Classic! Rofl :D
But I love it, he's just so different from all the other vampires portrayed on TV and guys with self-control are so sexy (at least to me), maybe because I'm a control freak myself.
I actually liked Hal the instant I saw him straightening those scissors in the barbershop in ep1, because I do the exact same thing, can't help myself! Same with the books on the shelf! *lol* Made me feel some kind of kinship to him.

@MancVamp: Yeah, Becoming Human was great. Adam's voiceover at the beginning already made me like him much more, because he finally felt like a real person. I thought in Being Human he was just defined by his sexual innuendo, he was so one-dimensional, but here you see that there's much more to him, which I really liked.
So now I'm very much looking forward to seeing him tomorrow, where before I was like 'no, did they have to bring him back?'. ;)

  • Comment number 50.

@halftw - I like your thinking, and agree totally :) Perhaps too he's gone 'cold turkey' in the past too but also maybe never had anything as solid as Pearl and Leo to keep him good and 'kind'? Let's hope Annie and Tom are able to give him a similar stability! :)

  • Comment number 51.

45+46- I think you've got a point there, maybe he's been toying with the idea to "redeem himself" by staying off blood for a while but never found the right person to help him with that until he met Leo. I don't think any of those vampires who were afraid of him would have helpt him stay on the wagon.

  • Comment number 52.

Oh and Opositiv - Good point, too about just 'killing them quickly'!

  • Comment number 53.

    (that would be "helped" actually...^.^)

  • Comment number 54.

Hello bloggers...really just popped on to say cheerio as I'm away for a while out of uk and won't be watching episodes 5 and 6 until my return....I'll be staying away from the blog to avoid spoilers. (Hey Ewan...you're away too?....you haven't snuck into my suitcase have you?)

Good to see the wee trailer although I would have liked to see Hal coping with Adam....Mitchell's interactions with Adam were very funny (mind you, not as funny as George and Nina rescuing him from the Richard's house)...can't wait to see Hal and Adam facing each other off!

And Cutler is back in this episode....wonder what plots he's brewing in this episode to make the werewolves out to be the only bad guys...

And is it me or is baby Eve (think two sets of twins used throughout filming) getting cuter by the minute! You just want to eat her up...oops...just remembered..that's what someone is trying to do...

  • Comment number 55.

Ohh and @Opositiv - Do you think having other Vampires scared of him helped to 'shock him' as howling said? Perhaps he didn't like what he was doing anyway - and even more so because others were scared of him, perhaps even venerating him for it?

  • Comment number 56.

All of Hal's books look old - the newest ones appear to be 50s Penguin paperbacks, nice touch.
Hal's breakfast routine involves a small posh teacup and a napkin, even at Honolulu Heights where none of the crockery matches... that's dedication to task.
And he doesn't even have to run hard to catch that pathologist, just jog. Those exercises are paying off, even if she did manage to shove him off her and into a wall.
Hal's new clothes: has he taken some of Mitchell and/or George's stuff? The jacket is vaguely Mitchell-esque.

  • Comment number 57.

    54. (I like babys...couldn't eat a whole one though XD...sorry, couldn't resist...)

  • Comment number 58.

Opositiv - Jelly Babies YES :p

  • Comment number 59.

55- @StrangeBean I don't know if he'd actually be shocked since they've apparently been scared of him for a while and he must have been aware of how horrible he was beeing but I guess you're right that maybe it drove home the point of his excessive cruelty if even the other monsters were in awe of him.

  • Comment number 60.

a0k - interesting point about the clothes! But in my opinion they are still quite 'proper' - all the buttons done up on the shirts, etc. Also, he hated wearing that vest-top - when Mitchell looked pretty good in that bright yellow one!

  • Comment number 61.

On the 'next time' bit, Hal is in bed and its dark and the woman is talking to him saying 'Give into the pleasure' or something...sounds like a succubus

  • Comment number 62.

54 - Nope only making it to the coast.

  • Comment number 63.

    60. i think he was wearing Mitchell's clothes when he was pretending to be gay, im sure i recognised that belt

  • Comment number 64.

    @ Opositiv/StrangeBean:

The way I interpreted Hal's comments in the prequel, it means he's definitely been off blood before. Because after he tells Leo "I can be saved etc." and Leo actually proposes to help him, Hal says it may last ten, twenty or fifty years, but when the cycle ends he's WORSE than before. I think in order for him to be worse, he must have been off the blood before it ends. And Leo tells him that it won't happen if he's there when the cycle ends. So he thought of all these routines for Hal to make sure the cycle lasts as long as possible.

I don't think Hal would consider himself kind if he still randomly killed people. Otherwise why would he now want to abstain from blood in order to be a kind person, when before he considered himself kind while still drinking blood? Wouldn't make sense to me.

  • Comment number 65.

    I miss that three-piece-suit ^^...

  • Comment number 66.

I have a theory you can all shoot me down if its rubbish or if its been spouted before. Hal cannot bite baby Eve because of who she comes from. Whats in Georges and Ninas blood must have been passed down to Eve. Its also been shown in the last episode that WW blood hurts him as well. The only reason that he tried to in the second episode was because he was told to by future woman through the television. He doesnt like hurting children either??? I seem to remeber Hal saying something about that.

okay had my say sorry if it has been said before

  • Comment number 67.

@Laminamara That's the thing about interpretation ^.^ since they never clearly state in his prequel what the kind Hal is like we can just guess. I just think that the other vampires wouldn't be as afraid of our Lord Harry if he tried to stay dry periodically. Wouldn't they see that as a weakness?

  • Comment number 68.

Oh Opositiv me too! Although it wasn't as 'fitted' as his shirt at the end of the last ep was, it really suited him :D

Shoepigeon good point! Perhaps he is borrowing/using/having access to Mitchell's clothing, just wearing them in his own way - or perhaps Annie has then stashed somewhere and brings them out at moments such as the pretending-to-be-gay scene?

  • Comment number 69.

Good points howling - but I don't think Hal was concious of the future woman on tv screen - he didn't look at her at all - I'm thinking it was more that she was talking to his mind - spurring/urging him on in a ghost way rather than actually talking to him in the room?

  • Comment number 70.

I think that Hal liked what he's doing but knew its wrong when he drank blood, so he's been trying to stop. Unfortunately, it doesn't last long because he has nothing to keep him motivated. Then, we he found Leo, he was testing him to see if he could help keep him off the blood. I don't think he considered himself to be kind when drinking blood, i think he knew it was bad but didn't care, or believed that it was okay because 'its what he is', but when they drink blood they're different, Mitchell says it makes them forget bad things and they're happier, so when he tried to stop on his own, he would have started to be un-happy and remember everything that he's done and feel worse about it than he would have if he was still drinking. Probably would be easier to drink and forget/be happier than continue miserably trying to be good. I think Leo gave him the right motivation to carry on through it and stop for a longer period of time...we still don't know much about Hal though...this is just my theory. Hopefully they'll tell us why Hal stopped and what his intentions are later on in the series :)

  • Comment number 71.

halftw yes! - Although I'm secretly hoping there will be no 'intentions' as such and that really - he's just a nice being at heart :) One can hope!

  • Comment number 72.

@Opositiv: You're right, the other vamps would probably see it as a weakness. Then again, most of them are probably not so old as to even remember his dry periods. ;) And if he wasn't dry during his 'kind' periods, wouldn't they then still consider him less of a vampire when they knew how cruel he could actually be?

Ach, I don't know, there are so many possibilities, but speculating is so much fun. :) I want more Hal flashbacks! Btw, I'm German also! *winkewinke*

  • Comment number 73.

66+69 I think StrangeBean is right, if Hal had been aware of FW in the TV wouldn't he have acknowledged her in some way? At least looked at her? But he never looked away from Eve.

  • Comment number 74.

Woo loving all the Germans on here :D I'm not German myself - although one of my future housemates for next year is!

Am I talking too much? I feel like I'm in danger of annoying people because my name appears so often, particularly as I'm still new to this!

  • Comment number 75.

@halftw: That sounds like a really good explanation. :)

  • Comment number 76.

Strangebean. No I dont think he was aware of her either. Its almost like autosuggestion with her.

It seemed sort of strange though because at the begining of seires 3 that was the only way that Mitchell George and Nina could communicate with Annie, through the television set on white noise.

  • Comment number 77.

@Laminamara More Germans here than I'd have expected since Being Human was never on German tv. Gotta love the internet ^^ ...global village and all that.
Speculating really is fun, doesn't matter if we're miles off the mark, because I think most of the stuff that's been discussed on the blog will never be offically addressed anyway ^^

  • Comment number 78.

I think the FW made Hal go for the baby subconsciously, when Tom asked him what he was doing, he looked up with a confused expression and said 'i..i don't know'...Looked like he didn't even know why he was in the room

67- One of the vampires said to Mitchell in the old series that he looked weak and said 'How long has it been since you last fed?' Like he needed to get some food down him in order to be healthy again...If that's the case, Hal is probably weaker than he would be if he was drinking and this would make him less scary to the other vampires, i agree they'd probably see it as a weakness

Regarding that voice on the radio on ep 1, i thought it sounded like that vampire on the last episode of series 3, the one that took over the police and came into HH ordering Mitchell to do stuff...i can remember Mitchell agreeing to do whatever he wanted because he was an OO...I think he was anyway, so maybe it's him in the future on the radio. Probably somebody else though

  • Comment number 79.

78- um...do you mean Windam? But he's dead, like permanently dead, isn't he? At least they said Georg killed him.

  • Comment number 80.

Ah i didn't know that, need to re-watch all the series, i have a memory like a good fish haha

  • Comment number 81.

    78. i think it was Hal on the radio

  • Comment number 82.

I get confused easily - was Wyndham the one who confronted the old trio before Mitchell was staked by George? Or was that the Vampire Hal killed when choosing to side with Tom and Annie over the old ones, and someone different to Wyndham?

  • Comment number 83.

Hellooo BH bloggers! I doubt anyone remembers me as I don't think I've commented here since series 2, I can't keep up with the comments anymore but I'm still here reading every post and as many comments as I can! *waves*

Interesting discussion about Mitchell vs Hal, I really hadn't thought of it like that at all! I've been so busy trying not to compare them or Tom/George, I have to watch this new series as if it was an entirely new show because I'm loving it and loving Tom and Hal, but if I think of Mitchell and George I still feel a bit guilty, like I'm cheating on my best friends haha...

Anyway I don't think Mitchell was more evil or wrong than Hal, he was more impulsive, more of a drama queen/attention seeker and less in control but I see that as an age/wisdom thing - for all his talk about how old and tired and tortured he was, compared to Hal Mitchell was just a baby! He tried to fight his nature and he messed up, but in the end he made his choice fully knowing that he didn't have the willpower to stop it happening again, and trying to do the right thing. The way I see it that was Mitchell growing up.

Laminamara (29) said about Mitchell being addicted to the moment and regretting it after, while Hal has been calculating and actually evil - I see that as an age thing too, Hal's been killing so long he probably doesn't remember anything else. He also holds a lot more influence over other vampires than Mitchell did, or he certainly could if he wanted to, so when he chooses not to kill it's a much bigger deal. I think the only reason it's easier to sympathise with Hal is because you can literally see him struggling every second, I just want to give him a hug! A lot of that is purely down to Damien Molony's performance, seriously where do they find such amazing actors for this show!

It makes me sad wondering what would have happened if Hal showed up just a few weeks earlier, I reckon he could have taught Mitchell a thing or two and I think the two of them could have helped each other out a lot! I'm not sure I could cope with them both on my screen at the same time though! ;) Mitchell and George were always going to be tough to replace (there's that guilt again! *sob*) but once again BH has pulled it out the bag with Hal and Tom, I can't wait to see what happens when the old ones eventually show up! :D

  • Comment number 84.

I listened to it again and it doesn't sound like Hal at all to me, His voice isn't posh enough

  • Comment number 85.

ShoePigeon I'm terribly sure it's not Hal - Oh it's all so mysterious and confusing! Don't think I'm correcting you - just sharing my thoughts!; To me it's a completely different accent, lacks Hal's voice's crisp-ness and proper-ness. Also, whoever it is starts off by singing and Hal has stated that he doesn't sing - not even for Tom's birthday! Or perhaps that's what the Kia-Ora does? But it's probably not wise to have that conversation again..

Nic - nice to meet you! (I'm new this week - woohoo! :) I have to say that I agree with everything you said :D

82- Yeah, Windam/Wyndham (or however his name is spelled;) ) was the guy who confronted Georg about killing Mitchell, the vampire Hal killed when choosing sides was Fergus, I think.

We've seen ghosts exerting subconscious influence before - S1 Ep4 springs to mind (the scene with Janey looking around Mitchell's room).
@60: I think that was probably one of Tom's spare vest-tops, maybe it smelt of werewolf.
    @61: she's saying "Embrace the pleasure". I couldn't see Hal's arm clearly, so I don't know whether it's a flashback.
Watching closely, Tom seems to be holding the same bottle throughout his whole "on a bender" sequence. What a lightweight...
Can anyone ID Cutler's accent? Best I can manage is "ex-lower-class, did well in big business and trying to sound a bit posher but not too posh".
I don't think the sergeant on the desk at the police station likes Cutler very much... I think Cutler's probably duty solicitor or whatever they call the person sent in for those who don't already have a solicitor.
Maybe alcohol clouds a werewolf's sense of smell? (Or Cutler's wearing a lot of aftershave.) And Cutler's insistence upon the existence of good vampires probably helped (unwittingly) to make Tom like Hal again - bet Cutler wouldn't be pleased if he knew (or even knew who Hal was).
Annie's eye makeup isn't running this time - she's obviously more in control of her appearance thanks to having beaten the door, Purgatory, etc.
What sort of first class did Kirby try? I've seen first class on trains, it just means a different seat pattern and a funny cover thing on the headrest.
Odd, isn't it, how any kind of transformation (werewolf, dissolving ghost, even regenerating Time Lord) always starts with the hands? Or at least with them staring at their hand. Wouldn't be the same if it were feet, would it?
I STILL can't do the Kirby Dance.
"Produce of Kenya" crate by the drumkit. I wonder what was in that?
Kirby's (final) last words ended up being "You ought to get that looked at" (unless you count "Aaaaaaaaargh!") - I'm sure he'd have preferred any of his previous ten or so sentences, or even his final living words... Mind you, the GP's ended up being "There are things I need to check".
Panicking much, Cutler? What sort of cunning plotter are you?
Hal's genuine smile is rare but so sweet... Tut tut Hal, your standards are slipping - I spy stubble!
    Property Master: Chris Cutler!
Unit Manager: Jason Keatley. Not hard to imagine them deriving "Healey" from that...

80- @halftw hihi, well maybe fish have a good memory, who knows since they never say anything ;)
But I can relate to the forgetting things...I always seem to remember only the useless fun-facts stuff from lectures and never the important things XD it's anyoing

Opositiv thank you! Things make more sense now :) I remember now too his name being Fergus in the ep when they took Eve away. Thanks for helping me clear things up!

  • Comment number 91.

I very much think that its not Hal on the radio, his voice doesn't sound like that...He might be a bad vamp in the future though? ;)

  • Comment number 92.

    85. i don't know, im convinced it's him, i guess we will find out soon enough :)

  • Comment number 93.

So basically folks we're all agreed.....

Mitchell was a "wham bam thankyou mam" sort of vamp....and Hal's a **bleepin** psychopath !!!

  • Comment number 94.

well, who ever it is on future-radio it must be sombody important/notorious because of the way the resistance-guy says "it's *him*"

  • Comment number 95.

@StrangeBean Oh no, not the Kia-ora!

according to my clock, it is now Sunday!*yay*

    21 hours to go.

  • Comment number 96.

Hal *can be* a psycho. He can also be a sweet OCD sufferer who cries at the thought of being Eve's Nemesis... he spends most of A Spectre Calls looking heartbroken or petrified.

  • Comment number 97.

hm...guess Hal's more of a sociopath, but than again both terms are kinda obsolete ^^

  • Comment number 98.

Yay Sunday :D DontDrinkTheHotChoc that's an excellent description! 21 hours to go? Woop! 4 of which for me will be taken up by the journey home!! Speaking of which, I wonder what happened in the car with Pearl, Hal and Leo on their way to Barry? THAT I'd like to see - I bet it was been funny ;)

@Nic: I know what you mean about feeling guilty. I loved Mitchell as a character and was dead set on not watching the series without him. But I gave it a try and, I'm ashamed to say, by the second episode I was so in love with Hal I was like 'Mitchell who?'. As much as I loved him, for me he can't compare to Hal. *hidesincorner*

The same goes for the Mitchell/George dynamic. I though it was so great, but I love Tom/Hal even more. And I love that we got the humour from season 1 back because for me that was definitely the best out of the three first series.

Regarding Mitchell vs. Hal: I never said I though Mitchell was more evil or wrong (I actually think Hal's inner monster is much worse than Mitchell's). He just didn't handle being a vampire as well as Hal does. That doesn't make him wrong, it makes him lacking self-awareness and owning up to his mistakes.
Like you said, he was quite a drama queen on occasion - which was never more obvious than in contrast to Hal's uptightness - and couldn't really admit to himself what he really was.
And yes, he owned up to it in the end, which was him atoning for his mistakes. And as much as I cried my eyes out when he died - seriously, I bawled like a baby - it was much too dramatic for my taste and over the top. But it fit to Mitchell's overall more dramatic behaviour, so I had to get over it. Still didn't like it though. :(

98-@StrangeBean who'd you think was riding shotgun? Hal or Pearl? I think it would have been Pearl, she was just to bossy to ride in the back ^.^
