TOBY ANSWERS YOUR SERIES TWO QUESTIONS

Post categories:

toby_blog_web.jpg

Last week we asked you to send your Being Human questions to the show's legendary creator, Toby Whithouse. As promised, he's been sifting through your brilliant queries and has answered a whole bunch of them, touching on everything from serial killers to set design.

Take it away, Toby...

So here we go with the answers. A lot of the questions were either about stuff that's going to be revealed in the future or about things I've already answered on the blog. If I haven't answered your question, have a spool through my previous blogs and you may find your answer there.

Ok, get comfy.

So SuperOchre asked why Lauren and other vampires were repulsed by the smell of George yet Daisy and Mitchell aren't.
Well, I think this is to do with simple prejudice. We've always maintained that vampires detest werewolves, but I think this more an attitude of mind or conditioning than an actual allergy. Mitchell is George's best friend, and I don't think Daisy can be bothered with tiresome and tacky things like casual racism.

Anglo asked how much re-writing is needed to cover the move to Wales.
It's not so much re-writing - we've always known the move would happen at the end of season 2 - it's more a question of storylining the next series with that in mind. So one of the tasks of the first episode is to establish them in their new house and jobs etc.

Dramalovely asked if I start writing with an idea of the overarching story for the whole series. For example did I know right from ep 1 of last series that George would end up killing Herrick and scratching Nina.
Yeah, I knew how the George / Herrick story would end. But the decision to have George scratch Nina was made after seeing how amazing Sinead was and how beautifully she and Russell worked together. I thought "Oh I can't get rid of *her*..."
But aside from that, the bigger arcs of the story are mapped out before I write a word of episode 1. Things evolve and change as the scripts develop, but I know all the big stuff - such as who's alive and who's dead (and, I guess who's undead).

annie_toby_blog.jpg

Cieria asked if we're going to change Annie's outfit.
Well, I have no plans to. I think it raises too many questions and in a way it takes her out of the realm of being a ghost into being... something else. My feeling has always been that's she's trapped. Frozen in time, like Miss Havisham in Great Expectations. The clock stopped the moment Annie died, and her clothes always remaining the same is a good way of dramatising that.

Iain asked what me feelings were regards the SyFy Channel version.
I'm really pleased there's going to be a US version of the show. A lot of Being Human fans have already voiced misgivings about a US version, and its fair to say that UK formats have met with... mixed success when transposed to the States. But every single significant step in the life of Being Human has been either fraught or needlessly worried over. When we moved from pilot to series, the notion of recasting Mitchell, Annie and Herrick was met with wails of despair. As it turned out, all three new cast members delivered extraordinary performances and now it's impossible to imagine those parts being played by anyone else. So who knows, in a year from now, we might be rhapsodising about the US version and toasting its staggering success. Obviously I'll be sitting on my yacht, but I'll be with you in spirit.
Also, whatever happens in America, it doesn't have a backwards effect. The UK version won't be affected an iota. Expanding the Being Human world can only be a good thing. If the US version is a success it might inspire its audience to seek out the original version.
So I'm going to approach it with a completely open mind and watch it as if I were watching a brand new show with a brand new format.

Karen Hollis asked if I've been watching True Blood and how I think the vampires in that compare to the vampires in Being Human.
I love True Blood! They have a much more traditional approach to vampires - can't be seen in daylight etc. Our decision to make Mitchell 'immune' to sunlight was because otherwise a third of our lead cast wouldn't be able to do any daytime exteriors. That would have a huge effect on the production and storylining, which the makers of True Blood don't have to worry about. Partly because their budget is probably 4 times ours, but also because theirs is much more of an ensemble show, dealing with the entire community.

Celticgrace gets the prize for the best / most difficult question. "These guys are making me sympathise with a serial killer - who has preyed on young women? Does Toby see that as a problem and how does he manage that balance of sympathy and horror?"
Blimey.
I was tempted to ignore that one.
I think the secret is, Mitchell is full of repentance. He genuinely wants to change and has spent the last few decades trying to stay 'clean' amd redress the balance of his bad deeds verses his good. I never want the audience to condone or forgive his misdeeds, but I think he should be applauded for attempting to change. Also, that struggle is what gives Mitchell an electricity as a character and provides us with the majority of his stories.
It's not helped by Aidan, who is so absurdly seductive and charismatic that we instantly feel sympathy for Mitchell. But it is a fantastic question, and as you'll see as we approach the end of series 2 and move into series 3, it's going to become a lot more complicated. We can't ignore what he's done. But he has to be constantly moving forward as a character, as endless scenes of him lost in guilt and introspection would become very dull very quickly. I think we put off any proper exploration of sympathy regards Mitchell as long as possible, but now we're in the middle of what is, I think, the best Mitchell story ever, in which we'll really push the boundaries of our sympathy and forgiveness. My God. You wait till episode 7.

Keith asked whether we would give George the ability to change at will, not just full moon.
No, is the simple answer to that. It's the characters 'handicaps' that gives us our stories. For example: we decided really early on that the vampires *couldn't* survive on blood from blood bags. Because if they did, then what's the struggle? We lose masses of tension. It's the same with George. The more he can control his condition, the less jeopardy there is and consequently the less drama.

Frostmaiden and Indill asked why we have human bad guys in series two.
Um, that wasn't a deliberate choice. It just seemed the natural way to take it. In a way it was in partly down to Jason Watkins' extraordinary performance as Herrick. He's a tough act to follow, so we decided to go in a different direction. I think also it raises an interesting dilemma for the characters - Mitchell especially - having yearned to be part of humanity, to see them at their most craven and despicable. And there were hints of it in series 1. The way that humanity reacted to the suspicion that Mitchell was abusing Bernie. It raises interesting questions for the (mostly human) audience too. We'd like to think wed respond to the revelation of such creatures with kindness and understanding - but would we?
Hey - do you want a clue for series 3?
So in series 1 the threat was supernatural.
In series 2 the threat was human
In series 3, the threat comes from within. But is that within the group, or within the house? Mwa ha ha ha ha ha ha.

Brilliantmightyquinn asked why episodes are just numbered, when titles are so much easier.
I KNOW! I WISH we'd gone for titles. It never really occurred to us. Gah! It's too late now... We could come up with titles between us, I guess.... Hey, shall we do that? Can I choose the best one? Barry, get onto that for me...
(hee hee)

beinghumanfan asked who decided what should be in each of the 3's rooms.
It's all down to our fantastic production designer, Mr Andrew Purcell. The man is a genius. And he makes me laugh. The beautiful rich design of this show is, I think, one of its triumphs. But it's not just a question of creating beautiful spaces for the actors to play in, Andrew really understands the characters - as does Stuart Meachum, the costume designer. I'd like to say it's me standing over them saying "Oh yes, George would have dwarves on his wallpaper..." or "Mitchell would wear that hat" but it isn't. It's them.

Stephen Collings had a concern about the trio being clueless about Nina's scratching. Well, as you'll remember from the very first scene, one of the major tensions between George and Nina is the lack of a 'physical' relationship. I think Nina will have been keeping herself at arm's length from George from the end of series 1, making sure he never sees her dressing or anything like that. Bear in mind it's only about 27 days since the end of the last series, so it's not like she's been keeping herself 'hidden' from George for years and years. As for the others, they've not really spent much time with Nina, so it's hard for them to say what's in or out of character. But rather than it being an oversight on our part, the distance Nina is maintaining from George is one of the things that propels him into his bad behaviour in episode 1.

Notaviking wanted to know if Buffy and Angel were shows that inspired me in creating and writing Being Human.
Ok, confession time. I have never in my life seen an episode of Buffy or Angel. This isn't deliberate, it's just something that kinda... passed me by. The world and his uncle have told me how much I'd like it and how Being Human has echoes in terms of tone and humour. I'd love to see it... I just haven't yet. In fact, my lack of knowledge is apparent in ep 1 when I mistakenly ascribe a werewolf called Nina to Buffy instead of Angel. Thankfully about 67 people were kind enough to point out the mistake I made on national TV.

Ewan asked what my favourite Vampire-ghost-werewolf TV shows are.
Now that is my favourite question! Gawd, where to start...?
Ok, in the spirit of 主播大秀 compliance I should point out that these are personal choices and other werewolf-vampire-ghost books are available...
Books first.
Let the Right On In - glorious Swedish vampire book, made into a fantastic film.
Bareback, by Kit Whitfield. Fantastic werewolf book.
Salem's Lot by Stephen King, and the graphic novel of the first book of 30 Days of Night is well worth a read.
And even though they're not strictly speaking anything to do with werewolves, vampires or ghosts, I think i should mention Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell by Susanna Clarke, and American Gods by Neil Gaiman.
Films... well, American Werewolf is clearly an influence.
Oh, and the TV series Ultraviolet by Joe Aherne.

Right, that's your lot. I'm going to have a lie down.

If you've got a new question you'd like Toby to answer, leave it in the comments section below and we'll bribe him to answer a few more. A Kate Bush cassette should do the trick...

Mwahahaha first comment, you didn't answer any of my questions!!! :( ah well, I know you're a busy man

  • Comment number 2.

Didn't answer mine either which was about the blog....on a blog page....maybe it's me

  • Comment number 3.

Astonished Toby answered mine...but thank you Toby...I'm quite touched (don't answer that)...

Interesting to see what happens in Episode 7 then...hehe...I had noticed what Toby said there..

  • Comment number 4.

the threat comes from within!!! duh duh duuuuuuuuuhhhh! :) I have no idea what to think

  • Comment number 5.

my questions not answered either but i forgive you lovely man because my questions were fairly naff. I'll have to put my thinking cap on for a better question...

Thanks Toby for taking the time to answer the questions above...some really interesting pointers as to how Mitchell may change ( I was just talking about this on the previous blog!) ..wow..episode 7 ...can't wait!

And the danger in BH3 will come from within?....ooohhhh

    Thought of a question...
Nina's stomach scars must have some significance: does that get revealed in this series and are you able to give us some clues as to how she obtained those scars?

  • Comment number 6.

Anglo: interesting that the move to Wales has obviously been in the pipeline for a long time. That hits on the head I think my comment on twitter the other day about being concerned that the move to Wales may be connected to killing off Mitchell and making Ivan new leader in his homeland....glad about that!

  • Comment number 7.

Dorina: Hello sweetie...lovely questions there...amazed poor TW took any notice of my rather sad offering..

Series 3 looks good but then we wouldn't expect anything else, would we..hehe

Within what, I wonder? Within the house, place of work (wherever that's going to be...wonder where they'll all end up working in Wales? Night security guard? Mitchell would be good at that...if in doubt, rip their throats out!)....hope George and he get better jobs.

Going back to Ep3...didn't like Lucy questionning Mitchell about his past life in the pub on that date...she was really pushing it...I think he can't quite work her out on many levels, senses something not right but is still attracted to her....

  • Comment number 8.

Dorina (6)- there is no way on this earth in this lifetime that mitchell would be killed off right? becuase toby couldn't possibley do that to the woman population right? becuase we'd go into mourning. :)

  • Comment number 9.

anglo (7)- hello. Do you think Lucy actually knows mitchell is a vampire and is targetting him or do you think she just happened to meet him and has her suspicions?

  • Comment number 10.

Kate: hi there...Lucy I'm sure knows that Mitchell is a vampire...she has set herself up as the 'lure' I think to somehow entice him into some sort of situation where he is then captured in some way. When I loked back on eps 1 it was obvious that she was 'play-acting' the distress she felt in their first scene together.
All the CenSAA focus so far has been on the werewolves but there's no doubt they intend to 'cage all the beasts' as they see them!

  • Comment number 11.

Thanks for your reply Toby...come on Barry , get cracking on some titles please.!!!!!

  • Comment number 12.

Thankyou for the reply, fabulous! :)

Wow, I can't get my head round S3 in Wales lol, I'm sure I will in time :P

  • Comment number 13.

WooooWoooo! My question was answeres with an epic "Mwa ha ha ha ha ha ha." Couldn't ask for more! XD

that's the ultimate horror answer to anything!
thank you Toby for answering that! And all other valid questions! =)

  • Comment number 14.

Thanks for those questions bloggers and thanks for the answers it was great to read. Really, hmmm insightful!! I didn't know they were all moving to Wales - interesting.

Also Kate, Lucy definitely knows as she is Professor Jaggart i hope you've seen ep 3 if not i am so sorry for telling you a key plotline. The line Kemp says in the final ep of series one is 'Professor Jaggart, we've found them' so they all have been targeted and I think she took that job to get closer to Mitchell and the back story she gives is completely made up. Like Dorina is saying from the line in i think it was ep 1 of this series, Kemp wanders round the house talking about targeting all the supernatural beings although the main focus has been on the werewolves. Dorina also, I'm pretty sure it was Kemp on the radio when Saul was trying to force Annie through the door. I think its a long game with the vampires.

  • Comment number 15.

Kate (9) - Lucy is in the control room of all the operations, she got the house bugged and everything.. She's obviously trying to get at him through his "weakness" but this doesn't mean she could even start feeling for him, once she gets to know him.
I guess that now she's more than aware of Mitchell's identity.

  • Comment number 16.

BH production team and Toby....thankyou for answering all of those questions.....I'm very intrigued & excited about episode 7.....and of course still very excited about all of the episodes in this fantastic drama series!

  • Comment number 17.

I'm feeling quite smug at the Favorite question still it also means that I have a new list of books to ead and films to watch

  • Comment number 18.

Fantastic set of questions and how wonderful of Toby to answer them. I think the ask for questions must have come whilst I was away as I don't remember it.

Dorina:...yeh I'm also thinking that Mitchell is going to change over this series....in fact he already is changing. In BH1 it was Mitchell who kept all the balls in the air re th house and comforted Annie...now it's George taking on that role with Mitchell so bound up in the ( not inconsiderable) vampire issues. Having said that, and even if Mitchell succumbs to 'feeding' again...I think by the end of the series he will 'find himself' again....possibly once he cottons on to the plans of Prof Jaggat.

I did wonder what the Carl episode was about..seing as he came and went fairly quickly...but on second viewing of eps 2 I'm thinking that it was to act as a pointer to Mitchell that there's no such thing as having completely given up the blood

Good question re Nina by the way...been thinkng about those scars for a while.

I have a question for Toby if he's prepared to answer any more...
How can Annie move to Wales when she is 'tied' to the house in Bristol? In BH1 Mitchell said that it was the house that held her..so how can that change?

  • Comment number 19.

*smiles* Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell is one of my favourites. I read it a year ago and it's on my book shelf gathering dust as I type.
    Thanks for the reply Toby.

  • Comment number 20.

Thanks for doing this again Mr P and Toby - always very interesting and we do appreciate it :-) I agree re the titles - that would've been nice but like you say - bit late now :-S

  • Comment number 21.

Oh and Toby you really do have great taste - Let the right one in was brilliant - I only saw it a few months ago but loved it - I have friends who I know would love it but refuse to watch a film with subtitiles lol.

  • Comment number 22.

dorina and indil- thankyou for answering my question. yeah i agree she probably is targetting him but maybe it's to see through the eyes of a vampire if you see what i mean. in the pub she said, "so what do you do in your spare time?" "what about family". Maybe she wants to find out how they live and what the "system" is. :)

  • Comment number 23.

And my bro is always on about Neil Gaiman to the point where I refuse to read. But maybe, just maybe I will now.

Btw I can lone out the Jonathan Strange book to you regulars if you want. Might save buying, just p&p to the next person who wants to read.

Let the right one in was obviously great but did not like the film of 30 days of night that much. Maybe the comic is better.

  • Comment number 24.

Thanks for answering my question (about human foe this series), Toby. And for giving us that little clue to Series 3; you great big tease, you.

I'm sure I have an old Kate Bush cassette around the house somewhere ... I'll get it in the post to you!

  • Comment number 25.

Just ordered Bareback so can now get back to blogging and asking questions Ultraviolet huh? does this mean there will be Censsa operatives armed with video cameras attached to their guns loaded with charcoal bullets?

  • Comment number 26.

Hi there BHBlogTean...I see that there are additional pics from eps 4 up on the internet but not as yet on the BH FB album..they show the new ghost and identify him...could you add them to your eps 4 album please?
    many thanks

  • Comment number 27.

oh and options I've worked out in season 3

Annie will be ok moving as long as there is someone she can link with ep 6 Mitchell says that he and George keep her around

threat's how will Mitchell cope as there have been hints about falling of the wagon. Annie if she is still being chased by death what will she do to keep out of the corridor. George and Nina might be going a bit too much to the wolf.

Or will it be something else?

  • Comment number 28.

    Oooh brilliant, thankyou Toby!

I'm a bit worried about how much Mitchell is going to change now, change is definitely good but I already miss happy smiley Mitchell of series 1! still so excited about the rest of the new episodes, and in series 3 the threat comes from within! Oooo exciting times! ;D

  • Comment number 29.

Aww, question not picked. Aww bbcbeinghuman removed me from their 'Follow' list on Twitter(I think i need a hug after all this rejection)

  • Comment number 30.

Oooh, Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell is a great book Toby. Would also reccomend 'Bitten', 'Stolen'(Stolen is a bit apt for this series of BH)'Broken''Dime Store Magic' 'Haunted' 'Men of the Otherworld' and 'Frostbitten' by Kelley Armstrong

  • Comment number 31.

    I have a question!
are there going to be any type 4s and, if so, what? so far all we could come up with were mermaids, demons and aliens [as BH cast appear to be gradually migrating towards dr who, and in the trailer for ep 4 you definitely see a captain jack lookalike...]

by the way lionesskeeper [29] have a virtual *hug* :)

  • Comment number 32.

Jemmerzem: (31) Hello there...I'd love to answer your question about what type 4's might be but I daren't in case it's a spoiler so as it was only a good guess, not an absolute certainty, I'd better not say anything...I loved the mermaid theory..or the odd Siren or something...

Lioness: Join in the hugs hun...I think we could all do with one right now...

  • Comment number 33.

Okay BH PROD: You know I love you, and I can forget you for spelling my name wrong, it is tricky to spell, but that wasn't actually the question I asked. I asked whether Annie could take her clothes off temporarily clearly different from that one.

  • Comment number 34.

hey guys thanks for this but just a heads up you spelt cieria name wrong

  • Comment number 35.

anglo [32] hi, I'm really curious now... please could you tell me!

this is going to keep niggling at me now...hmm...

    dragons? trolls? banshees? witches? unicorns?

    leprechauns?

  • Comment number 36.

Thanks for answering the questions Toby that was really interesting.

Jemmerzem (31) if there is a Type 4 I think it should be a witch/wizard. Types 1, 2 and 3 start of human and then become a supernatural being. Mermaids, demons and aliens were never 鈥榟uman鈥 to begin with so would not really fit in with the world of BH. On the other hand a witch/wizard is human, they just have magic powers. In my opinion magic is just another word for supernatural.

  • Comment number 37.

He stole my evil laugh (Mwa ha ha ha ha ha ha)!!
Naahh, Toby can keep it, its too cheesy for me =] lolxx
    xx

  • Comment number 38.

i wish a could say aww didn't answer my question but i didn't ask one so oh well

oooh i didn't no they were moving to wales and series 3 wow I'm still excited about series 2 at the min so ill work towards that one

but thanks Toby its great to have a look in to your mind for abit and can i come and see your yacht ive always wanted to go on one

  • Comment number 39.

Lol C I don't think the blog team actually have anything to do with this I think Toby does it

  • Comment number 40.

Eagle, I assume that they gave him the questions and that they sent the wrong stuff to him. But who knows. Doesn't change the fact that it's completely wrong.

  • Comment number 41.

hi all, just thought id let you all know that there are 6 new photos on the BH facebook page. there worth taking a look at.

  • Comment number 42.

hi guys..additional pics of eps 4 showing new ghost friend of Annie clearly

  • Comment number 43.

Additional cover story from GM interview with Aidan, russell and Lenora..think that eagle posted up the main article already on previous blog

  • Comment number 44.

Thanks for that Dorina- still no pictures of Mitchell then? Shame.

    :)

  • Comment number 45.

Dorina - Thanks for the pics - Sykes reminds me a bit of Captain Jack Harkness from Torchwood because of the clothes he is wearing lol

  • Comment number 46.

Additional cover story from GM interview of Aidan, Russell and lenora. Think that the BHteam ( or egale maybe) already posted up main article on previous blog

  • Comment number 47.

Ok then C I'll be shutting up now.

And no Dorina wasn't me but thanks anyway :-P can't quite believe Russell in it though - I think most of the people on here probably won't wanna read what he's said :-S I can totally understand where he's coming from I really can but I didn't think of him as the type to say it. Shows how good of an actor he is though - I've seen him meet people like that and he was nothing but pleasant and acted as though he quite enjoyed it. As did the others - mind you Aidan couldn't quite hide the "oh my god this is mental" look on his face any better than me first time round lol

  • Comment number 48.

About the new pics from episode 4, has no one else noticed what George has on the floor beside him in the cage???

  • Comment number 49.

*hugs* Aww thanks Jemmerzem and anglo

  • Comment number 50.

Nimue - you mean the water bottle and food maybe?

  • Comment number 51.

    That ain't food.

  • Comment number 52.

    pills/drugs then?

  • Comment number 53.

yep i think i definately see some blue pills on the floor!!! dun dun dunn!!

  • Comment number 54.

That's what I thought. Drugging the wolf? Good plan!

  • Comment number 55.

Well at least we know Nina's nosebleed in the trailer doesn't kill her - I'm pretty sure thats a picture of her wolf in the capsule thingy of censsa's

  • Comment number 56.

Maybe george drugs himself to try and ease the pain of transformation or hes takes them because he thinks nina is going to kill herself and he wants to go to?

  • Comment number 57.

does anyone know what kind of pills you can get that are blue? yeah, the wolf seems to be asleep so i think they must be sleeping pills. i don't think george would try to kill himself- we're assuming that that's his new girlfriend's house, and in this ep he gets a job as a teacher- he seems to be moving on rather than being suicidal.

  • Comment number 58.

it said in one description he found that it was extremely hard to keep the werewolf caged so perhaps after taking an overdose of sleeping pills he escapes the cage, and destroys his new girlfriends house (asuming it is her house)

  • Comment number 59.

sorry im probably going OTT but i find it fun to speculate :o)

  • Comment number 60.

just got in to see Toby's great answers - and his lovely answer to my question! He managed to answer a question with a tease about future eps (Mitchell is definitely going to fall off the wagon!?) - plus seemed unwilling to take the credit for keeping us sympathetic with Big Bad John - not the writing but absurdly charismatic Aidan! Thanks Toby - and it is the writing you know! (not that AT isnt absurdly everything)
I could ask questions all day but wont push my luck - just can Toby do another at the end of the series - when we have seen all the twists his brain has come up with???

  • Comment number 61.

Oh and can I name my own prize??...

  • Comment number 62.

Question for Toby - What is the funniest out-take/blooper with the cast of being human that you can remember?

  • Comment number 63.

Awww, he's such a tease, our Toby! That hint about the danger from within will nag at us all for months til the next series!

Pictures of episode 4 look interesting, particulary the ones of "Nina", that is a relief to know that happens.

  • Comment number 64.

yay American Gods! Oh, how awesome! Oo new question and cool idea for Toby: don't you think it would be fantastic if Neil Gaiman were to write an episode?! He's such a brilliant script-writer as well! Please ask him! It would make my TV life!!

  • Comment number 65.

Whoa Gwen Gaiman is good no question but his style is wrong Shakespeare and Veronica mars are both awesome but the styles just don't match.

  • Comment number 66.

I think we are all suffering from mid-week exhaustion - especially with Toby's teasing contribution to our questioning/speculation fest. We just need to get our energy back and start gearing up for ep4... a good feed should do it - but Im rather attached to my teeth! on the other hand - taken to the caves by bad Mitchell??...

  • Comment number 67.

Well I would definitly love to see Neil doing something for the show. I love everything about Gaiman's writing. And with the dark twist of the show it would match somehow.. maybe I don't know something oniric - time travel - fantasties..
ok this is taking my mind too far!

And, Kate (57).. only pills I know being blu are Viagra.. but I don't think taht'll come useful to the Censsa folks.. unless they want to breed werewolf cubs.

One thing I though might save Nina would be if she's pregnant, for 2 reasons:
    1. motherhood gets the female stronger to protect the cubs and maybe she might turn out to be a much stronger werewolf than under normal circumstances
    2. They (Kemp&Co.)want to know what will happen to the offspring. Wether they will be born as humans, or with the latent curse or what..

  • Comment number 68.

Ewan have you seen Neverwhere or Stardust? Both similar in tone to BH. And Neverwhere was for tv! It would just be epic! Lol, He's always busy though :(

  • Comment number 69.

    (67) As a regular, non loup-garou pregnant lady, I can confirm that your body's healing rates increase markedly, so IF Nina is pregnant and if the writers know about that little phenomenon then your theory may well be true. Nice to see a non-squished wolf in the compression chamber anyway :)

    [Oh, and hi from a nearly-newbie :)]

Hi bloggers...just on for a few mins..

Seems from what Toby says that episode 7 is going to be an absolute belter...wonder what happens to Mitchell then?...can't imagine he's going to be a good little vampire somehow....he's already supposedly disposed of Cara (if I'd have been her, I'd have begged to be killed...nothing worse than a vampire without canines)...what else could he possibly do to make us test our sympathies for him in his plight? On second thoughts, don't even debate that theory...one wrong word...I'm biding my time by hanging on until Sunday...just

    So..not Sunday yet then anglo?

Test our sympathies?...the boy can do no wrong...Hehe

VF: Hello hun...knew you'd be lurking (with intent) around somewhere...we're still psychically in touch...good to know

I tell no blog...that's what Mr W suggested....he tests our sympathies...but I agree, the man is just perfection....in every way....and is charismatic....but we already knew that didn't we? hehe

And how are you today? Back in 10mins btw...

Hi, figured I would have a crack at a question.
So basically, I'm noticing a lot of vampires, not that that is a problem, but I began to wonder about the werewolves. Now, I know you had Tully come in, which provided some insight into the Werewolves, but I began to wonder, will there be any large groups of Werewolves? In a similar fashion to the vampire's perhaps? Organised groups, packs even?

I'm good thanks....not another belter, my little heart can't take much more.

Been some good theories on were-cubs....( ooh my two favourite things. the Irishman and puppies...Yay!)

Also got to go now....home...speak later

Hi guys, hope everyone is enjoying Toby's responses.

@ Cieria (Comment #33) About the typo of your username - we don't spell Anniy, Mitshell or Jorge's names wrong and we shouldn't do it to our bloggers. Wrist slappings shall happen! But seriously, it's not cool and we apologise.

Also it seems Toby may have misunderstood your question, so we'll have a word and see if he can clarify the point about Annie's costume...

For anyone else who asked a question and didn't get an answer fell free to drop it in here again or think of a new one, as we will be getting a new blog from Toby soon. Or feel free to check back over Toby's previous blogs to see if the answer lies there:

Thanks BH prod. All is forgiven. :) It doesn't really matter. Everyone makes mistakes. I'd had a bad day yesterday and it was just one more thing.

Hi everyone. You know I think Toby is wrong about being unable to forgive Mitchell. I think what he should have said is we are unable to forget what he has done. It is like one of Aesop鈥檚 Fables. I can鈥檛 remember what it was called but it went something like this-

There was once a man who鈥檚 son was killed by a viper. The man tuck an axe killed the viper鈥檚 child in revenge. The man said 鈥淣o we are even and you are free to go.鈥
The viper said 鈥淵es now we can forgive and forget.鈥
鈥淣o. We can both forgive each other but we can not forget what has been done.鈥

Forgiving is not the same thing as forgetting what has happened. We can forgive Mitchell for killing people but we can not forget that he is a murder. Dose that make sense or am I just spouting more nonsense?

Years ago when i was in school i had a dream that i was a wearwolf and i changed in the dream but when i changed i was being monitored sorta like the idea on being human but i wasn't in a lab i was being viewed remotely sorta like as if when i changed they were able to pin point my signal whilst i was a wearwolf, but lost the stream when i changed back.
It felt like they were viewing me on a screen in a lab in a different country even. Wouldn't it be cool if there was a central viewing lab that could see wat all the wear wolves around the world could see, or maybee they would need to be tagged with a transponder or something like that. I had such a suprise when i watched it on new series was like dey ja vu even. deos any one else get things like this because i do sometimes.

  • Comment number 94.

which one of her friends will she read first?

  • Comment number 95.

Kate (91) - LOL at George and the blue pills! XD
The Nina pregnant thing is just something that popped into my mind before going to sleep, you know.. those strange thought that come late at night when your mind just go on its own path? that's it! I don't even know if it's likely to happen but it's something I belive guys at censsa would find interesting.

Groovygirl (85)- you can check on hulu.. but I'm afraid they allow to watch it only from within the US, not sure though.

  • Comment number 96.

Ahh, I'm excited now. Lol at George trying to buy that cage. Wonder what kind of things she'll be able to see. Will she understand George in werewolf form or be able to tell when Mitchell is craving blood?

  • Comment number 97.

i got lot's of ideas on things like they have went into the past with the history behind vampires and mitchels life, maybee things like vampires could evolve, and also maybee even wearwolves evolve it has been proven that todays dogs are all decended from the wolf but you carn't bring a wolf up and expect it to be demesticted it takes generations of dogs for this to happen, scientists think that dogs have evolved to be more friendly to humans over hundreds of years, could this be the case with wearwolves maybee one day in the could be future? maybee a mad scientsit could make an effort to speed up this process for obvios reasons ?

  • Comment number 98.

for you to think about kate wat do you think ?

  • Comment number 99.

what do you think about that toby ?

  • Comment number 100.

    Evening bloggers...

In reply to the aura thing...will Annie be able to read Mitchell's aura? After all, he's not human and probably won't have one, will he? Just sayin'...
