Today everyone's favourite Irishman (no offense Bono) is on great form as he talks us through his acting tips, including how to pull off that famous vampire intensity.

The truth? It's just his face...

And he thought he was CAMP???? Hello? What planet is this man on...why on earth did he think he was camp?

  • Comment number 6.

    Awwww!!

  • Comment number 7.

Lovely - he said it - some faces sell it better than others? Only that's too modest. Which he is!

Thanks BHProd - now take a lie down!

  • Comment number 8.

Such a relaxed blog. You guys can always make me smile & Aidan.. YES yes to the shirt...

  • Comment number 9.

I do get the feeling now if anyone from the costume department is watching they're going 'So that's where it went'

  • Comment number 10.

Ewan: (9) And the others, I suspect...remember the black and white check one?

  • Comment number 11.

10 - Oh dear their shelves will be bare if this continues, still they are good shirts.

  • Comment number 12.

Everyone's favourite Irishman???!!!??? thanks for forgettin me :P im intense! lol :))

  • Comment number 13.

Ewan (11) Well, the guy has taste...those shirts look very comfortable and soft...I have a similar one but stopped wearing it so much because people kept calling me a lumberjack!

  • Comment number 14.

Ooops....our first mod of the evening...poor Eric's copped it!

  • Comment number 15.

13- Is it wring that I'm thinking of Michael Palin now?

  • Comment number 16.

Putting the clothes on = cool and stylish?
My love you'd be cool and stylish in a binbag (or erm, nothing come to think of it ;P)
Aww I do love him, so laid back...and loved the absolutely nothing comment....lights on but nobody home eh? Far too modest I'm sure!

Thankyou VERY much Mr P and BHProd....we love you :D

  • Comment number 17.

15 'wring' was wrong I meant 'wrong' of course.

  • Comment number 18.

    WOOP! WOOP!

  • Comment number 19.

Ohhhh Mr Turner *sighs* you ARE lovely! Eyebrows and tight jeans included :)

And Mr P? You're lovely too - thanks for the video! It was well and truly worth the wait! :)

  • Comment number 20.

For all of you who are outside of the UK and can't access the blog for whatever reason, it'll be up on YouTube very soon so check it out there!

  • Comment number 21.

Any chance the videos will be available to view for US fans? Currently they are geolocked. Thank you!

  • Comment number 22.

    yay!
Thanks for the tip Anglo, I'll be scouring YouTube v soon. Have to find out what on earth the 'camp' comment could have been about...absolutely impossible to imagine!! In the meantime the vampire eyes pic will keep me going.
And although Aidan may in the past have thought that 'no-one wants to see my blog'... We do ....oh my we do.

  • Comment number 23.

Splendid eyebrow work. I'd have to vote Mr Turner the second greatest eyebrow expressionist actor of our time (the first being Roger Moore of course. No one can beat his *raised eyebrow* The name's Bond, James Bond)

  • Comment number 24.

Ahh the lovely man...with his lovely eyebrows, lovely eyes, lovely face...lovely chest....lovely *insert anything else you wish here*...

oh...am I supposed to be oommenting on what he's saying? ....

'it's just my face'...only in part lovely man...it's your talented acting that keeps us all engrossed. Yeh, Jason Watkins is brilliant at what he does...but so is Aidan Turner.

Thanks Mr P...you do have the best job in the world don't you! ...need an assistant?

  • Comment number 25.

Hello all newbies...don't fret about the moderation...it's only because you are new to this blog and need to be 'recognised' or sme such thing...your comments should be 'cleared' shortly.

  • Comment number 26.

I am checking Youtube constantly until I can see it, I want to know what his eyebrows have to do with his acting!!!

  • Comment number 27.

Thank you Mr P for all your hard work, it was worth the wait. You're obviously a natural at interviewing as AT seemed very relaxed - though not to the point of making any tooth brushing comments this time :-))

It's interesting that all the actors interviewed so far have emphasised being natural and empathetic - just feeling and being, rather than a more technical approach. Intuitive rather than method acting, I think (though I'm not an expert and stand to be corrected if necessary). It'll be interesting to see what Jason adds to the mix: I love his portrayal of Herrick.

Which means of course, that I was far too busy thinking about acting to notice the lovely man and his lovely shirt. You believe me there, right? xxx

  • Comment number 28.

Oh silly me,HERE is the video!(mmmm)

His eyebrows just NEVER stop! Mr Turner is so funny,a real natural...There is just NO stopping him at all,and we don't ever want you to stop Mr Turner, nor your eyebrows!!:OP

Thank you Mr Turner and Mr Pilling for a FABULOUS video blog!! I am going to watch Mr Turner (The eyebrows lol) again!

    We love you all!

    xxxx

  • Comment number 29.

    One Word= AWESOME!!!!!!!!!

Thank you sooo much for this, was totally worth the wait to see the lovely & always smiling Mr Turner!! Keep the shirt, looks very nice on you =P

Cant wait for all the blogs this December & the long awaited return of the BEST SHOW ON TV =)

Thank you to all the ppl behind the blog, you keep us fans sane

    xxxxx

  • Comment number 30.

Thanks Mr P! AT cetainly does brooding and intense so well - funny to hear his friends keep complaining he looks too serious when he is just listening; perhaps we need more Mitchell smiles to get him out of the habit :) .....and if those jeans felt tighter than they looked well all I can say is they must have felt very, very tight!!

  • Comment number 31.

Aww! man I'm going to cry. I live in the US and I can't view the video. Can you please post it on Youtube for those of us outside the UK.

  • Comment number 32.

YES! Finally saw the video! Huge thank you to who ever posted it on youtube!

  • Comment number 33.

oh rats... my luck to live in the wrong part of the world.. must find elsewhere then :)
    can't wait...

  • Comment number 34.

Could somebody please shut off the regional restrictions! I'd love to partake of this! All the other vidoes work outside the UK as far as I know.

  • Comment number 35.

Woo this as a wee bit awesome! Thanks BHP, you're all stars!

    I actually can't believe it's on soon! We've gone a long way.

"No, it's just my face". Brilliant! :)

  • Comment number 36.

Aidan, get your kit off, you've pulled

  • Comment number 37.

Can someone post this on YouTube or somewhere. I'm in the U.S. and it won't let me view it. I loooooooove this show. Thei're making one in the U.S. which debuts in January. I hope it's good.

  • Comment number 38.

but i like the face... intense or not...

  • Comment number 39.

Thank you BHProd and AT. This is a really lovely video. So relaxed and playful.
And interesting too, especially the observations about not playing games, being emotionally truthful - listen and react and you may surprise yourself.

Plus I agree - keep the shirt.

(and thanks for posting this on YT)

  • Comment number 40.

Hmmmm... I have an inkling that the return of the geolocking has to do with the imminent season premiere. (Since it just occurred to me that the sudden UNlocking in the summer coincided with Ö÷²¥´óÐãA approaching the close of S2.)

That said, I am sneaky and geeky and have my ways. *eg* And yay, totes worth the wait! I love all the different things everyone has had to say. I love hearing anyone talk craft, especially these folks who are all so endlessly enjoyable to watch, and especially when they're so unpretentious about it.

And thanks to Barry, our hero of interviewing and editing!

  • Comment number 41.

just popping back to view the video again (and again and again and ag....) ho ho hooo..

I love these checkered lumberjack shirt's on Aidan, they just so suit him,he has that outdoor look about him even when he is indoors!!:O) I myself LOVE to lounge about in a big floppy man's lumberjack shirt here on the farm, especialy in this artic weather, their so warm and cosy and snuggly & sexy abit likeeeeeee... Aidan ((slap)) lol :O)))

Let me watch you again Aidan :OP

    xxxx

  • Comment number 42.

Thankyou thankyou, thankyou! I was sooo looking forward to that and it didn't disappoint. I love that man. That was so informative and I loved what he said about Jason Watkins. It was so nice to see clips of series one again. Oh now I'm so excited about January..just the taster I needed.

And you Barry ..you didn't pale alongside the Great One. You too are uber cool and we love you!

  • Comment number 43.

Went to go on the laptop and was in very bad mood, turn on the blog and saw this! Now so happy! Brilliant.
We should have more posts like this.
    :)

  • Comment number 44.

Also love the shirt, keep it, definatly, and a few others. Seriously the shirts on this show are very good. Which is an odd thing to say genterally but whatever, start a mini series to fill the gaps between BH series' and call it "Michell and his many shirts" It could be all about Mitchell's past and his different shirts (and the occational lack of shirts). I wonder if he only looks good in modern shirts or if he would make older fashions of shirts look good even to modern people. I wonder how many shirt related thoughts I can have and types down in a minute, have to look back and count. No real reason for these thoughts, anyway.

  • Comment number 45.

Re. 44. ZZUPL, lol, you may have just identified a second BH spinoff show. Hope Ö÷²¥´óÐã3 takes note. And we already know from DesRom that he can carry off that difficult flouncy shirt/embroidered waistcoat look, so the possibilities are endless.

  • Comment number 46.

Thank you, emphatic youtube user for posting Aidan's vid!!! You made us non-UK-people very happy :-))))).

And awwww - how cute is our fav vampire!! Let's hope he'll grace many days to come with his smile and lovely personality.

  • Comment number 47.

So now you've sated your need to see Aidan - Okay now you have a blog where you can sate your needs every now and again, how about we play a little game called guess the next blog.

the rules are simple given what we know we can make educated guesses - and that means as we've had an Aidan blog we won't be getting one straight after -ducks- we have as basic options.

Behind the scenes on becoming human or BcH
    Acting tips from Jason Watkins
    The stars of BcH
Interview with Lord Toby - Yes please.
Interview with the crew of BH and BcH

    so what are your thoughts.

I should note that I did not include interview with the new stars of BH as I think they will occur closer to the Launch date which until the real date is released I estimate at 33 days based on last year broadcast date.

  • Comment number 48.

Evening all...only blogging now because it's brass monkey time in spare room and I'm wearing gloves to type!

Ewan: Reckon it'll be Jason Watkins...I say this because it was hinted before the latest blog vid came out that Jason was going to be on it with Aidan, but as that hasn't happened, I think Jason is going to be doing his own. He's by far the most experienced of the actors out of the five of them and I'd be surprised if he didn't do one.

Having said that, all of your other choices would be icing on the cake, especially another Toby interview. Or even another runner interview with Ryan, but that's probably a bit late now!

  • Comment number 49.

Moonwalker58.....with you completely on the jeans!
    " skinny jeans Mitchell...really?"

Hello all newbies and what amazing names some of you have!

Ewan, anglo..yeh...also think it will be Jason next up and been hoping for a Lord Toby interview for some time. But also really looking forward to seeing some behind the scenes stuff. Don't get me wrong Mr P...I've loved the diaries, but missing behind the scenes sorta stuff (ie in hospital from last series)

  • Comment number 50.

hi all - agree should be Jason Watkins next (he's on stage in London in new year btw)

quickly followed by Lord Toby in conversation with producer Phil - havent seen him for a bit? Did it all go as he expected back there at beginning of prod/shooting?

  • Comment number 51.

So it seems pretty unanimous Jason Watkins followed by a (fingers crossed) Lord Toby.

Now the only question is when.

Now I know for some of you this may seem harsh but for the new blog to rise another must be usurped this means when Jason Watkins - we think gets his blog there will be no more Aidan.
So we turn back to the blog that told of blogs to come where it was promised that the concentration of blogs would increase. We have to take into effect that we had been waiting over 4 weeks for these last two but it could also mean we're back to Friday blogs

So weigh it up in your minds what do you want blog a week or to stick with Aidan I know for some of you the choice will be hard but it has to be made.

On a sadder note it seems that either we're being forced to wait longer for news of a preview screening or -gulp- there isn't one.

  • Comment number 52.

Hows about a future blog on Sinead, Lenora, Aidan and Russell's "in betweenie jobs"?

  • Comment number 53.

    ohhh, loving that idea Starflowerchick!
I hope we go back to the friday blogs, they must be due soon. Also, I wonder when the all the promo stuff will be out. They've done the photo shoots (I think), Mr P mentioned the that the trailers were almost done, and I wonder if they've done all the talks and interviews with the press and stuff yet?
Oh well, only time will tell.
Hope everyone is good and I cant wait to get cracking on here again once it all kicks off. Laters! x

  • Comment number 54.

Morning! (of if you're reading this later Good afternoon... night... etc etc etc) Two points...

    1. @Ewan (comment 47) There will be more blogging THIS WEEK. But it's none of the things on your list... *Insert mystery 'ooooh' noise here*

    2. @Dorina (comment 49) Behind the scenes features are so choc full of spoilers that they'll mainly come while the series is on air, but we do have some GREAT stuff in the can (we don't actually keep it in a can, do we?). The cast really had fun with the blog team this year so expect some great interviews, banter and access to set. We also had fun with Derek, Ryan the Runner, Mike and others in the BH Crew you may remember from previous blogs and they'll be making an appearance at some point soon.

    3. @celticgrace (comment 50) Phil Trethowan is still in employment (hurrah!) and is getting many pats on the back, having done great work on Being Human and Becoming Human (double hurrah!). He's been a busy boy but we'll get hold of him for a chat soon and give you his take on how it's all going.

We are listening and it's our aim to give you the best features possible from the BH universe.

Now if we could just get the footage out of this can we'd be able to edit it... *gets can opener*

  • Comment number 55.

    THREE POINTS! We cannot count.

We are also very impulsive and clearly add extra points when we feel like it.

Yeah you better deal with that.

  • Comment number 56.

    Hello again...:O)

Thank you BHProduction for giving us such great features (ha,that sounds funny!) Its lovely to know how all the cast and team are fairing,so a HUGE Thank you again for keeping us so informed!!

I would just like to wish all the BH team and actors a truely wonderful Christmas and then a really prosperous New Year...oooooo and what a great New Year it will be too with BH3 on its way!! (hurry Santa..lol)

    mwah
    xxx

  • Comment number 57.

I can't wait for the more predicted blogs! I hope there is a post on friday cause that is my birthday!

  • Comment number 58.

Ah BHP how you tease, one I didn't think of Ohh this will be tricky to work out should I do another list of more unthinkable options or not?

    Probably yes.

    So no cast interviews
    no behind the scenes
    no Lord Toby
    no crew interviews

    options are now

    retrospective on S2
    The trailer?
Wait is that it is there a trailer is the trailer done and ready for transmission?
    -inoutin out in out-
or I don't think it was in 47 Announcement of a preview screening?
    -inoutinoutin out in out-

    Or something else?

  • Comment number 59.

Oh and 79 if I forget on Friday Happy Birthday.

  • Comment number 60.

Hi fellow Bloggers. Hope everyone is okay and have come back down to earth after seeing Aidan in his new vid. Had to wait until today for a chance to see it. Oh boy, it was so worth the wait. Every time I see him doing new stuff I fall in love all over again. I've no idea what he said - couldn't concentrate. I'll just have to re-watch several (thousand) times until I get it.

  • Comment number 61.

Hey BHProduction! Thanks for speedy responses..it's all gearing up isn't it...can't wait to see what u've got stored in those cans..Love you!

  • Comment number 62.

Thanks ewan! And as for your new predictions, I REALLY hope the new one this week is the trailer!

  • Comment number 63.

Mr BH production I'm rather excited about those cans!
Thankyou for looking after us all
    xx

  • Comment number 64.

Sounds like some great Fridays (?) ahead on the blog whatever comes.
Another suggestion for the list of hopes - it would be great to find out more about Richard Wells and the BH music.
Looking forward to those trailers too...

  • Comment number 65.

The music I forgot the music -goes to hid head on wall a la support your local gunfighter-

Yes information about the music would be another great blog, Unless it involves putting music to scenes -spoilers

so it seems the favourite choice is the trailer - but does this mean that not only did I miss out on the screening last year there wont be one this year -sad now.

  • Comment number 66.

Hi Ewan. It might be a tad early for trailers this week, but don't totally give up hope on a screening, it could be that they can't announce a date until the Ö÷²¥´óÐã3 gods give an official launch date (clutches at straws on your behalf!)

  • Comment number 67.

though the straws are thin what else am I to drink hope from - wait that was wrong.

though straws are thin they are thicker when grabbed together - that was better thanks for the shared grabbing, no wait that was wrong in a different way I'll work it out in the end.

straws hold the grain of hope we will all hold on for - yes finally one that works. Sort of.

  • Comment number 68.

Oh almost forgot until we get a date for BH3 the estimated based on last years broadcast date countdown or EDA estimated date of awesomeness continues we are now at 32 days to go.

  • Comment number 69.

Surely we wont get a trailer until after they've finished repeating series 2. I'll be tuned into Ö÷²¥´óÐã 3 at 6.59pm on the following Monday...

  • Comment number 70.

Or better yet Just after episode 8 is shown again what a time to put it up - Laurar do you know what I like best about your theory, admittedly not the no trailer on Friday part but if they wait till the end of the BH2 re show before trailer then the hope of a screening announcement is back. - fingers crossed right?

  • Comment number 71.

You know it makes sense ewan...
Although all my theories are just wishful thinking and considering that the series 2 finale is shown at daft o clock, I dont imagine it will be straight after either. Unless it is ofcourse...

  • Comment number 72.

Do you ever get that tingly feeling when you sense something is about to happen?

  • Comment number 73.

Cannot wait to sink my fangs into more episodes

  • Comment number 74.

BHP, you are so cruel! You know you are and you love it! We are like putty in your creative little hands.

  • Comment number 75.

what today is the new post today? right what to do, what to do.

    first calm down
    second cross fingers
third repeat after me 'screening, screening, screening'

    optional forth
do a little cry of joy that brings the neighbours round to see if you've been injured
    or
enjoy the new blog and don't let yourself wallow

  • Comment number 76.

Or wait is it another hint about a blog tomorrow?

    Hmmmm.

  • Comment number 77.

Aidan is such a lovely example of irishmen and just like so many guys I grew up with ; funny , cheeky and gentle in turns --so Ladies if you're looking for a man like this --go to Ireland !

  • Comment number 78.

ewan (75) I so hope so. I'm crossing everything and that could constitute a medical emergency... :-)

But if it's not, there's still this thread and the relentless anticipation!

  • Comment number 79.

I thought for sure we were going to get broadcast dates today, but perhaps not. So my next wish is for . . . preview event!! BHProd, please make it so!

  • Comment number 80.

Ah yes the first three steps in my four step program is making me feel both better and more concerned about which of the step fours I will have to employ.

  • Comment number 81.

The vid isn't available for me :(
Being French sucks (no pun intended :p)

  • Comment number 82.

This comment was removed because the moderators found it broke the house rules. Explain.

  • Comment number 83.

    (81) same here,
the vid is "forbidden" for us in Indonesia too :(

  • Comment number 84.

  • Comment number 87.

Love him think hes a brilliant actor :) x

  • Comment number 88.

Love him! I've already cast Aiden as my vampire/werewolf twin brothers in my first (as yet unpublished) novel! That brooding Irish charm just does things to me!!

  • Comment number 89.

anyone know the song at the beginning?(:

  • Comment number 90.
