Ö÷²¥´óÐã

Now that it's all calmed down, perhaps it's time for a moment of reflection. What a year it's been! Cast your mind back to June 2010 when the cast got together for the first script readthrough. Everyone looks so sweet and innocent; including our own Barry Pilling and his tentative first appearance in front of the camera. And then along came October the last day of shooting and the announcement of Becoming Human. In December Sir Toby of Whithouse released The Annie Broadcasts and we watched poor Annie, stuck in purgatory and pining for Mitchell and the others…and shed many a tear along the way.

After what seemed like a very long wait, we unveiled the new look blog and finally on January 23rd: THE MOMENT ARRIVED. Episode 1 of Series 3. We got to meet the new characters (and guest actors), McNair played so brilliantly by Robson Green, Lacey Turner's LIa and Michael Socha's Tom. All this was quickly followed by the amazing Craig Roberts introduction of Adam in Episode two and the launch of Becoming Human. You stuck with us as we tried to find out who killed Matt and we got to learn what great sleuths you were.

Meanwhile the main series brought back Herrick and the incredible acting of Jason Watkins, introduced us to Nancy (and the gorgeous Erin Richards) and we followed the wolf-shaped bullet to journey's end. And how can we forget what happened then?

So what now? What happens to Tom? And Nancy too? Is Herrick really gone? Somewhere upstairs in Touchpaper Towers Toby is planning the next series of Being Human and whatever he's coming up with we know it's going to be something quite special. Whilst Toby beavers away the blog is going to take a bit of a breather We'll be back later in the year but before we go we just want to say, Thank You. You, the fans, make this show so special and no TV show has ever had such a passionate, committed and, may we say, slightly crazy audience. On the blog, on Facebook and on Twitter you stuck with us through thick and thin. We cried and laughed together. We solved murders, lost some good friends and through it all we stayed..well, human really. And that's what it's all about in the end.

After eight weeks of updates on the Becoming Human blog it's time to see Adam, Christa and Matt confront the murderer once and for all. Here's a sneak peek of the final episode, where Matt comes face to face with his own body. It's not your average situation, but then again Rathborne High isn't your average school.

In this week's updates Christa raised the theory of an accomplice helping the killer, and Adam pointed the finger at the person he thinks is the killer. But are their theories correct? Tune in this Sunday at 9pm on Ö÷²¥´óÐã Three to re-live the entire mystery and find out the identity of the killer in a 50min TV special. Episode eight will also be online at 9:45pm so there's no excuse to miss the big finale of Adam's post-Being Human story.

It's going to be good. Dead good.

He was flawed, he was adored but with him we were never bored. John Mitchell, you are a true legend of the Being Human world.

In honour of his departure we've put together this special tribute to Mitchell, and of course the fantastic work of Aidan Turner, as our way of saying goodbye.

If you're feeling the need to mourn Mitchell's passing, celebrate his fantastic life or leave a message for Aidan himself, now is the time to do it.

So long old friend... it's been one hell of a ride.

Being Human, Ö÷²¥´óÐã Three's award winning and critically-acclaimed drama series, written and created by Toby Whithouse, will return for a fourth series next year.

Following the gripping series three finale - in which overnight figures show 1.1m viewers watched Mitchell fall victim to the wolf-shaped bullet - series four will see the aftermath as the housemates return to their home in Barry Island. The series will also introduce some new faces following the success of recent guest artists Lacey Turner, Robson Green and Michael Socha.

Produced by Touchpaper Wales, part of Zodiak Media Group, the hit drama will fulfil the blood-thirsty appetites of its ongoing committed fan base, but also demonstrate Ö÷²¥´óÐã Three's commitment to original UK drama for 16-34 year olds.

Consolidated figures show series three had the biggest series launch to date, with 1.8m viewers. The series sustained an average of 1.4m viewers on television across the run and has an additional 0.4m requests per episode on iPlayer each week. Becoming Human, Being Human's exclusive online extension drama also made by Touchpaper Wales, has also moved from online to Ö÷²¥´óÐã Three for its final episode airing on Sunday 20 March at 9.00pm. This is Ö÷²¥´óÐã Three's most successful multiplatform commission, with over 1.5m views on the red button and online to date.

MITCHELL...! Is this really it? After three series, countless hours, the ecstatic highs and devastating lows, it was George who finally did the deed and ended Mitchell's long life with the words "I'm doing this because I love you".

So it's with a heavy heart we say John Mitchell... RIP.

We've gone behind the scenes of the final act of the series to see exactly how Mitchell's powerful and emotional final scene was made and to say goodbye to the fantastic Aidan Turner.

Damn, it's not easy to say those words. Alas, there are times in life when words just can't do justice to feelings. On those times we turn to Toby Whithouse, the creator of Being Human, to explain the full story...

From the first moment we met Aidan, we knew we were really only borrowing him from global super stardom. The same goes for all our cast. You can't have actors as good as Aidan  and Russell and Lenora and Sinead and Jason, and not expect someone  else to notice.

I guess it really hit me back when we were doing series 2, and perhaps unconsciously I shifted the stories in a way that paved Mitchell's exit. I thought it'd be better to have him go out in a scripted satisfying way, rather than lose him between series and open up with the rest of our heroes standing over a grave, with one of them saying "Wow, who'd have guessed Mitchell was SO allergic to bee stings..."

The consequences of the Box Tunnel Massacre were always going to be the cause of his demise, but whether that happened at the end of series 3 or series 33 was never defined. Contrary to a lot of the posts on the blog assuming that we'd chosen to kill him off, I didn't want to write him out until I had to. And certainly right up until the shooting script of episode 8, Mitchell was still going to be undead and kicking when the credits rolled.

But then Peter Jackson came along. And it turns out he's a fan of the show. Oh Irony, I could punch you in the neck.

Once we'd all stopped congratulating Aidan and envying him we had to decide what to do with our favourite vampire. Despite his commitments to Middle Earth, we were still planning to keep Mitchell 'alive'. Perhaps, we thought, Wyndham could dispatch him back to Bolivia and maybe (though we had to concede it was pretty unlikely given what Aidan's schedule would be for the next 3 years) we could get Mitchell back for an episode of series 7...?

But y'see, that Turner fella is smart. He knew that ending, while leaving the door open for him to return one day, would be ultimately unsatisfying. And so it was his decision - and with his encouragement - that we ended Mitchell's story there.

It was like one of your children leaving home. You're excited for them and wish them all the best... even though you really want them to stay with you forever. But like I said, with actors of that quality, it's inevitable that they're going to be offered other extraordinary opportunities.

Nonetheless, we shouldn't let the end of Mitchell's story define all that's gone before. For me it's been an honour to work with Aidan over the last 3 years. Watching him mature as an actor has been one of the great pleasures of working on this show. And aside from his skill and professionalism and talent, he's also a ridiculously nice and funny guy, and...

Actually, damn him. Seriously. I'm glad he's dead.

So let's raise a glass to Aidan Turner. It's been a blast. You appallingly talented man.

It's less than 24 hours until the final episode of Being Human series three.

Herrick is back to his old self with devastating consequences, killing McNair and stabbing a pregnant Nina in cold blood, leaving her life hanging in the balance. With Mitchell and Annie in a police cell and George on the way to find them, will anyone discover her before it's too late?

Meanwhile, Mitchell's past crimes have finally caught up with him and justice has to be done. It's taken many years for Mitchell to finally succumb to the law, but in the end it was Annie that made it happen. Annie who put so much faith in Mitchell, gave him so much love and loyalty and in the end was forced become the thing she despises... a killer. Could there be any way back from this?

There's also the mystery of the wolf-shaped bullet. Who could it be? How will it happen? Or is it all just clever mind games?

Since Aidan, Russell, Lenora and Sinead have all given us their acting tips in the past we thought it was only fair that Jason Watkins let us in on his secrets too.

What a fitting time it is to be discussing the subject, as only now can we fully appreciate Jason's full range of acting talents. Recently he's taken Herrick from doddery-uncle-looking-for-the-toilet levels of innocence to serial-murderer-hellbent-on-world-domination-who-will-then-probably-kick-your-dog-when-he's-finished levels of nastiness.

The man is truly a genius.

But what's next for Herrick now he's back to his old self and left Nina's life in the balance? Tune in to the Being Human series finale this Sunday at 9pm on Ö÷²¥´óÐã Three to find out...

Anyone else still reeling from last night?

Nina stabbed, McNair dead, Herrick running riot and Mitchell trapped in a police cell... and now Annie, his most loyal and innocent supporter, is refusing to come to his aid.

There's something unique about Herrick we can't put our finger on. Perhaps it's the charming smile? Maybe it's the twinkle in the eye? Oh no, we think we've got it... it's the hundreds of years of pure unadulterated evil trying to escape from every pore, the violence in every action, the twisted hatred in every glance, the way he uses every supernatural as a pawn in his game and treats every human being like a walking, talking notch on his dinner plate. Yes THAT might just be the unique thing about Herrick.

Today we've gone behind the scenes of his bloodiest, goriest, most deadly killing spree yet to see exactly how the team created such a beautiful mixture of chaos and claret on the Being Human set.

We are officially less than 24 hours away from episode seven, entitled Though the Heavens Fall. The title is a reference to the famous quote 'Let justice be done, though the heavens fall.' but we'll let you guys speculate as to what that means for our trio...

Last week certain events were put in motion and, like a runaway train, they can only get faster and more powerful until they eventually collide with the lives of our foursome.

has suspicions about the residents of Honolulu Heights and seems determined to keep searching until she finds the truth. She doesn't quite realise these are not your average suspects, and the more she finds the less safe she becomes. It's a locked-horn battle between her and Mitchell and there can only be one winner... but who will it be?

Meanwhile, the worlds deadlist amnesiac is still alive and evolving in the attic. Herrick may not be his old self just yet, but he's certainly getting stronger and more manipulative with every passing hour.

Speaking of house guests, Tom and McNair return this week as we saw in the preview clip and McNair can sense a change in the house. He's a curious chap that McNair, but we all know what curiosity did to the cat. I wonder what effect it has on dogs?

Episode seven is nearly upon us and it's time to have a sneak peek at what we've got in store.

This week McNair is back under the same roof as the foursome, but this time they've got 'Uncle Billy' staying in the attic. Things like that don't get past McNair's senses very easily... but what will it mean for the episode?

When George returned to his family home the team had the task of re-creating a lifetime of memories above the mantelpiece . Luckily Russell's mum Carol was around to provide real photos of the man himself as a youngster.

The hair... the fashion sense... the dog with a tea towel on its head... there's so much about this that isn't cool BUT WE LOVE IT ALL. There, we said it.
